Name: Jasper Crowe
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Birthday: November 16
Sexuality: Pansexual
Special Characteristics:
Due to the phoenix heart that rests in his core, Jasper heals almost immediately from most injuries. As the battle goes on, however, his vitality will eventually fail him, resulting in slower and slower healing. Should his body be obliterated, an extremely durable scarlet egg will remain that will eventually reform into Jasper. (This will be included in his magic, and will have no bearing on his “health”; if his health drops he will be rendered unconscious. This is just so I can enjoy roleplaying getting a good beatdown every so often, and others can enjoy showing off their power.)
Personality:
Jasper has little recollection of his past, aside from brief snippets of a cold, sterile, wholly unpleasant place. This concerns him little, as anyone who is around him for more than a few moments will quickly realize, Jasper prefers to live in the moment. A person's origin, lineage, and profession rarely make any difference to Jasper, and he will treat a respected businessman with the same courtesy he shows a member of their staff. Likewise, he has managed to get himself in trouble on a number of occasions for calling out such powerful people to their face should he feel they are in the wrong, regardless of consequences to himself. If others may be at their mercy Jasper may bite his tongue but it is a gamble his superiors have to make every time he is sent out on a job.
This impulsiveness also extends to meeting strong mages and fighters, and it is not uncommon for Jasper to ask for a friendly match from someone he sees as impressive, regardless of how low his chances of winning might be. He enjoys the thrill and challenge of such battles, and always tries to learn at least a little from his experiences. He is less likely to challenge people who are considerably weaker than him, but will on occasion do so if they manage something impressive or have a magic he finds interesting. There are things to be learned from such matches as well, from both himself and his sparring partner, and while he will likely handicap himself in some way so he can enjoy the match more he will happily fight at full power if requested. Whether stronger or weaker, if the opponent fights well and doesnt do something despicable in the midst of the fight Jasper will treat them with respect. He often heals the opponent afterwords, if he isn't rendered unconscious and managed to land a handful of hits.
For cases where his opponent isn't a respected sparring partner but rather someone looking to cause harm to others, Jasper’s fighting style changes up significantly; he will happily go full bore right away if the opponent is near his level, though if not he may take his time humiliating the opponent. While this is dependent on their transgressions and the urgency at the time in question, Jasper will take several hits intentionally to show them their own powerlessness before beating them into submission. This sadistic enjoyment of taking apart an opponent who did something heinous is likely the darkest thing about Jasper’s personality, but he feels that sometimes justice must be considerably harsh if the action that brought it on is egregious enough.
His impulsiveness also extends to less violent vices; close friends and respected opponents may find themselves propositioned by the fiery man regardless of sex. Jasper finds an attractiveness to strong beings with a righteous moral compass. Unfortunately for Jasper, this particular aspect of his has not always served him well; he is completely polymorous, and even after a night of passion he might be seen several days later flirting with someone else right in front of an ex. He doesn’t understand some people’s obsession with monogamy and moreover lying isn’t in his nature, much to the chagrin of some ex-lovers who took offence to his actions. Regardless, as with anything else Jasper feels he must be true to his own nature and will be forthright about this to anyone he considers a potential romantic partner if it comes up in conversation, regardless of whether it will end his chances with them or not. Jasper would rather never love again than love under false pretenses. Besides, he really can’t lie to save his life anyhow.
Jasper recognizes himself that his impulsiveness can be a liability, even given the right intentions behind it, and is fairly happy to follow the leader when it comes to group missions. However, if the leader ignores something he feels is wrong, he will undoubtedly speak up. He also depends a lot on his innate abilities, and will throw himself in the way of harm if he feels like a fellow guild member is in serious danger.

General Appearance
Height: 6’1” (185 cm)
Weight: 185 lbs
Hair Color: Short, shaggy crimson
Eye Color: Amber
Skin Tone: Light
Appearance:
Jasper is a somewhat tall man of athletic build, with a mess of short shaggy crimson hair he typically keeps spiked aside from two indignant strands which seem to unerringly fall over his face. Jasper has amber eyes that seem to almost glow whenever he is excited. He always seems to wear a necklace with long strings and a silver emblem, though he doesn't really discuss its significance.
Unless on guild business that expressly requires formal attire, Jasper can typically be found in his usual casual attire which consists of a white, v-cut t-shirt underneath a black coat with a dark fur lining. He has black jeans with a belt holding them up, and typically wears black steel-toe boots to complete the outfit. If you catch him early in the morning before he has truly awoken, or when he is training, you may catch him without his typical coat and t-shirt, revealing the start of a six pack hidden underneath his usual attire.

Likes:
- Lovers: Jasper is generally extremely flirty, his charisma has managed to land him a number of lovers. Jasper believes in free love, and has no issue with the gender of his lovers so long as he enjoys their personality. He has no issues of jealousy so long as previous lovers are happy, though he can be protective if he sees a previous lover in an unfortunate situation.
- Fighting: Jasper loves a good dust up, and will gladly take on anyone who wishes to fight. Stronger opponents give him a chance to test his own power and see where he is lacking, and even weaker opponents can sometimes give him valuable experience when facing those with unique abilities. It should be noted that so long as it is a friendly spar, he will attempt to hold back when facing those weaker than himself, handicapping himself so he can still enjoy a challenge.
- Tobacco: Jasper is almost constantly smoking, and particularly enjoys the taste of menthol regardless of brand. Much to the chagrin of some of his fellow guild members, he has a habit of continuing to smoke thoughtlessly even in places he shouldn’t.
- Naps: Jasper can often be found napping in strange places, when off duty. Considering his vices include be both a lover and a fighter, both of which take up their fair share of energy and can happen at all sorts of odd hours, his sleep schedule is a complete mess. He just gets comfortable anywhere he enjoys the energy, whether it be on the grass in a park or on the couch of the guild hall.
Dislikes:
- Needless Bloodshed: Despite his love of fighting, Jasper hates to see noncombatants involved. While he is generally against seeing a superior opponent bully a weaker one, he has absolutely no problem with using pain as punishment if it is in the name of justice in his eyes.
- Bureaucracy: Jasper is a man who is at times impulsive in his actions, and particularly despises seeing anyone suffer due to inaction. For this reason he has a slight disdain for the leadership of the Rune Knights, led as they are by the council.
- Unfettered Greed: Jasper despises the disparity between those with power and those without, particularly when it leads to abject suffering. Seeing merchants fattened by wealth whilst children starve on the streets makes Jasper particularly unhappy, and should he see the wealthy be cruel to the poor he will likely be enraged.
Motivations:
- Becoming Stronger: As cliche as it may be, becoming more powerful serves many ends for Jasper; with power, he can contend with even stronger opponents, experience even more thrilling battles, and make an even bigger difference when it comes to achieving his goals.
- Ending Suffering: Jasper has a lot of empathy when it comes to those less fortunate than himself, and will do whatever is in his power to ensure those around him are generally happy. He recognizes that it isn't really a problem he can solve himself on a grand scale, but one of his utmost wishes is to at least make a positive difference.
- Enjoying Life to the Fullest: Jasper felt a sense of wonder when he was first freed and saw that the world was filled with more than the lifeless, sterile walls of his first memories. Even now, he cherishes every new experience and wishes to see all this beautiful world has to offer, whether it be lovers, cultures, or battles.
Fears:
- Being Trapped: While being killed isn’t particularly something Jasper worries about, being imprisoned is. He knows full well his own durability could lead to an incredible amount of suffering with an unknown chance of him being able to experience the release of death in such a possible scenario, and that thought objectively terrifies him.
- Being Helpless: Jasper fears a day may come when he will be stuck as an observer while atrocities are committed and suffering is brought to those before him. He trains to prevent this, but he knows well how large the world is and hopes dearly that when the time comes it will be enough.
- Betrayal: Jasper genuinely cares for and wishes to improve the lives of those he draws close to, but a small part of him worries that there might be an evil in their hearts that he cannot see.. The thought of having to seriously fight someone he cares for because of a difference in beliefs is something Jasper tries to keep deeply repressed. He hopes that day never comes.
