Description: Fiore’s Fashion Weekly is looking for female mages who can model for them in a photoshoot. Women with beautiful face and body structure are recommended, but not required. The theme is about being eco-friendly. The model will be wearing creations of Chanelle, the famous designer in Fiore. The photo shoot will be held in the East Forest of Magnolia. Your job is to be amazing models
Prize: D-Rank EXP and 5,000 jewels each.
Albertina had finally arrived at the makeshift studio in East Forest, lighting setups mounted all around a large tree and a collection of bushes- mostly fake- with bright red roses blooming out their leaves. Morning dew still resided on the leaves, glimmering ever so slightly in the sunlight. The early morning was when the organizer had decided he would have the best possible light, which suited Albertina ideally. What didn’t suit her, however, was the clothing.
The clothes were made by, supposedly, the best designer in all of Fiore, the ever famous Chanelle. No matter the high regard she was held to, Albertina found it hard to admire the designer’s work. Having been dressed up back at the studio, she had gotten a chance to experience wearing the clothes on the ride over. The feathers on the bustier top were, ironically for an environmental shoot, real, presumably to persevere the integrity of the materials used in Chanelle’s designs. Even though the blue and brown dress, resembling an eastern bluebird, was gorgeous, the shafts of the feathers pricked at her chest, and the little pieces of afterfeather kept floating up her nose due to the spring breeze. Technically, it was a small detail, but for a designer so well-reputed, Albertina thought that Chanelle ought to have planned out this part of the design. In Albertina’s mind, clothing should be as comfortable as it is beautiful, comfort being a part of her designs that she prided herself on.
Then again, what didn’t Albertina pride herself on? Sometimes, her natural confidence extended well into needless pride, evident in her reasoning behind taking a job such as this. At first, the decision had just been a part of wanting to model the designs of a designer she admired very much, but it quickly turned into a vanity project once she had read further into the job description. ‘Beautiful face and body structure,’ it was perfect. She immediately knew that this would be her chance to solidify her confidence about her appearance, this time by the standards of Magnolia.
“Hurry up, people! It might rain, and we don’t have much time,” The director of photography hollered right next to Albertina’s ear.
She grimaced at the sudden noise, but was ushered to her spot on the set. A small bird in a cage, definitely trained, was carried over in a small transportation cage.
“This is Bilbo, he’ll be your partner for today’s shoot,” An intern introduced her to the bird completely seriously.
Albertina eyed the bird suspiciously, halfway expecting it to start speaking to her from an introduction like that, but nothing came of it. Nonetheless, it was exciting to work with a bird. Their adorable little beaks and bold and bright feathers were almost enough to make Albertina coo. Bilbo was placed on her hand and she proceeded to pose with him, channeling the always-gentle and gorgeous princesses of her stories.
At first, it was an odd experience, being on the other side of the designing process, but with each passing minute, Albertina’s sense of comfort grew. She felt her poses get more experimental without them seeming forced or unnatural. Moving Bilbo around was certainly the most fear-inducing part, as the anxiety of him possibly flying away at any given moment never left with each movement.
After a couple of hours, the shoot was done and Albertina was escorted back to the studio, where she followed her personal intern for the shoot up to a changing room. She gently removed the dress and put it back into the box which had stayed exactly where she left it before taking off for the shoot. Upon exiting the room, she found the intern chatting with the Director of Photography, who turned to Albertina with a gleaming smile.
“You were wonderful, darling. I didn’t expect a novice to do so well, but our budget was a bitty bit tighter this time around, so we couldn’t precisely afford a professional,” His voice trailed off, but he returned to his energetic self within a couple of seconds, “You know what? I think you’d do well to keep that dress, show it off at some glamorous event.”
“Thank you, sir. I’d love that!” Albertina eagerly responded, But not without making some alterations, of course.
Bidding her farewells to the rest of the crew, she made her way home, grumbling to herself about one thing in particular. “I didn’t expect a novice to do so well,” he had said. Screw that! Albertina had now made it her personal mission to prove her spectacularness to him, one day or another in the future.
