Veterans, War & Frozen Rocks [EVENT | Mura & Mythica]

The battles were only getting more and more intense between the two wizards and their opponents. For one, it seemed that more of these strange soldiers kept appearing, and they all seemed to share the same level of skill and cunning. It had been a long time since Mythica fought so openly like this, perhaps she was losing her touch? Or maybe their anti magic precautions were actually helping them significantly. Whatever the case, Mythica was far from ready to give up. She had gone through so much and done too much to let some magicless dogs better her in combat. It didn’t matter how many they brought to fight her. 3, 10, 100! Whatever the number was it wouldn’t be enough to save them from her wrath, especially after they hurt her husband.

Mythica was on the defensive. She had struggled to take down just one of these oblivium wielding knights, but now three more were attempting to gang up on her! She couldn’t see her husband beyond all this chaos and just had to trust that his skill with a blade outweighed their own. That wouldn’t last for long though as Mythica sensed the surge of magical energy explode from somewhere close by! The imperial guards not being attuned to the same type of senses as the wizards of the world were had no idea before it was too late. She could feel him… With every fiber of her body! Just as Mythica locked blades with one of the soldiers her gaze shot up to the sky above and she witnessed something absolutely spectacular. Mura had ascended to a level of power beyond what even SHE thought he could achieve! The ethernano in the air viciously swirled around her husband in a flurry of invisible magical energy which was so palpable even the magicless knights trying to fight Mythica stopped what they were doing for a moment to gaze up in awe as well. Mythica had no idea Mura wielded this type of strength. If his blade work and summoning skills weren’t impressive enough, this was on a whole other level! The entire show could only make Mythica gaze in complete awe as Mura burst forth surrounded by white flame!

With little effort the shaman swung his fiery sword at two of the three attackers and in a brilliant display of his magical prowess instantly turned the tables! The very ground shook with the force of his power and the imperial guards were wrought with confusion from this sudden surge of strength. Mura becoming the obviously larger threat at the moment caused the guards to ignore Mythica and go straight for him, though that did little to help their case, as Mura was more than prepared to fight their numbers. Using his control of the elements he conjured pillars of ice to effectively divide his opponents like a master strategist. If his magic wouldn’t work on them directly, he could still use it to work against them indirectly. The battle only lasted a few short moments before two of the three guardsmen were on the ground, dead. Mura offered the last one a chance to flee as he hovered above the battlefield and Mythica could only look at him with constant awe.

The third soldier was taken back by Mura’s power, but either through sheer conviction or fear of failure, he did not surrender. Instead he used his abilities to teleport! Not a spell of magic, but through another means of martial arts that allowed the user to push the human body to its limits. Instead of trying to test his chances with Mura he went straight for Mythica, but luckily the time wizard sensed his type of action and had prepared accordingly. He reappeared directly in front of the girl and used his blade to try and strike her! Mythica sidestepped the blow and along with it her golden chains returned in an instant and wrapped around the guard’s arm! With a hard swing it sent the guard’s strike off course and straight into the ground! With his blade stuck in the dirt Mythica used this opportunity to use her own strength and deliver a hard kick with both her feet as she used her musket to launch her from the ground! The guard was hit and fell backwards, completely disarmed! Smiling Mythica summoned more chains to wrap around the guard and his entire body was encased! Struggling his hardest he tried to reach out for the wizard but she sent him flying! The chains did the rest of the work, throwing him into the air before hitting him to the ground and repeating the process over and over until his armor cracked from the constant barrage of physical force. “You all are fools!” She called out, slamming the guard against a rock! “You hurt him and this is what happens! You thought you could fight us?! FIGHT HIM?! I WILL NEVER LET ANYONE HURT MURA! NEVER AGAIN!” She screamed, the magical chains dragging the beaten and bloodied guard across the forest floor until he was hanging above Mythica. Perhaps her anger had taken control, as she didn’t even think about the consequences of her next action…

The guard’s screams of pain echoed throughout the entire area as the chains tightened around his body. The loud cracking of his bones reverberated across the forest and his cries for mercy were ignored as blood spilled from his mouth above the girl. And that’s when it happened. Mythica was so involved in her absolute rage that she didn’t even notice the blood of the guard fall onto her body… That was until a few drops entered her smiling mouth. As soon as the red liquid touched her tongue the woman’s eyes widened and her anger fell away almost instantly. The chains too vanished as well, leaving the guard’s lifeless body to fall to the ground.

“N- no… P- please…” she muttered almost in a whisper as the girl stared directly ahead with a wide gaze. This was the first time Mura would have ever seen Mythica afraid. Cold sweat ran down her forehead as she shook in fear from something that could not be seen. The wind began to die down slightly and everything around the two became deathly silent for a moment. Her mouth quivered slightly, as droplets of blood dripped from the edge of her lips and Mythica’s eyes began to tear up. “m- m- mu..ra..” she whispered weakly as her terrified face looked at him. “p- ple… ase… run..” were the only words that she could muster before an overwhelming aura appeared. The aura seemed to be coming from Mythica herself and it felt extremely dark. The leaves of the nearby trees began to wilt and fall as the snow vanished and the ground around the girl turned black. The sky soon began to follow, a new rush of wind appearing out of nowhere which brought with ominous dark clouds. Mythica still continued to stare at Mura, a deep fear and hopelessness in her eyes before some invisible force caused her to yell in pain and she fell to her knees! Mythica continued to yell and scream horribly! As if someone was peeling her skin off alive! She gripped her clock eye as she shrieked and soon dark magic began to appear all around her! Her tears soon turned red as they were replaced by what appeared to be blood, and her skin began to darken as well! All the while the wind got more intense and the sky continued to blacken in the most terrifying way. Soon Mythica’s body had become a shadow, only the glow of her yellow eye remained visible among the mist of darkness which swirled around her like a whirlwind, though her screams of pain did not stop… Among those screams of agony Mura would be able to hear a single plea for help from her before she was gone…

The earth shook as the sky rumbled violently, Clouds of pure darkness blocking out the sun and reducing their world to a nest of shadow. The veil of black mist that enveloped the girl had grown in size and continued to do so with no end in sight! Everything it touched it corrupted, from grass to trees and even animals! Within the black whirlwind a dark shape could be barely seen, and it too grew with the shadowy magic that surrounded it. Mythica’s screams had stopped but were instead replaced with the violent growls of some demonic creature! It was the blood curdling howl that shook the sky and signaled the return of an ancient terror. The whirlwind of magic finally disappeared once it grew in size larger than the trees and in its place was a massive black beast draped in darkness. Its fur was as black as night with crimson accents lining the edges. Its tail long and ragged and its head broad. The horror that had plagued this world for so long was a massive wolf like monster. To those that knew the legends it was Mythica’s greatest fear. The Blood Wolf.

The monster TOWERED above the treeline, its shape being easily seen even in the newfound darkness that covered the sky. The monster’s eyes gleamed two different colours, one was a deep shade of blood red, while the other was a golden yellow. The monster howled into the sky, loud enough for the entire glacier to hear! With this sudden rise of dark magic, more guards appeared to see what was happening but they were met with only horror. The Blood Wolf roared in a bold rage, slamming its long tail across the ground! A huge upheaval of snow, rock, dirt, and ice exploded from the surface as the monster raged, uprooting and flattening several tall pines in the process! When the monster slammed its paw into the ground, black magic erupted from its limb and it lunged forwards! The Blood Wolf smacked one charging guard with its claw and his body was sent flying into the mountain side! It didn’t stop there though as it continued to rage at the other guardsmen! Closing its massive jaws around one and smacking another with its tail! It flung the guard in its mouth against a nearby tree and then swiped it! The guard narrowly dodged the attack by blinking out of the way, but the tree got demolished almost effortlessly in the process. Even the wind from the strike was enough to cause more trees to fall and the dark beast continued its rampage. With no thought behind its eyes it roared in anger, spinning around to charge its head into the side of the mountain where the other guardsmen had been before.

Their armor was tough, but with several considerably strong hits the guard was left lifeless and the Blood Wolf swallowed it whole! It then turned towards Mura, staring at him straight in the eyes as blood dripped from its fangs and a burning hatred gleamed from its eyes…
