- Item:
- Name: Alchemist's Bauble
Grade: Artifact (+)
Type: Item
Proof of Acquisition: Here
Description: The Alchemist's Bauble is a small cylindrical trinket, made of solid gold. On closer inspection, tiny runes have been etched onto the surface of the bauble, which are not easy to read. However, people versed in the art of deciphering esoteric runes will identify the script as an ancient, long-forgotten language, detailing various alchemical codes and formulae for transmutation and the creation of elixirs. The Alchemist's Bauble is usually worn around the neck like a pendant necklace.
Abilities:
Name: Transmogria
Rank: A+
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Passive
Description: Transmogria enables the user to transmute organic and inorganic material, both living and non-living, including themselves, into any shape, size and structure they so desire. Simply put, the user can transform an object into something else. It is possible to transform into another living being, and take advantage of the natural abilities such beings have to offer, but magic abilities cannot be used. It can mimic even down to the cosmetics, i.e. clothes, jewelry, weapons, etc and texture. Despite this, it offers no increase to offense or defense, and inanimate objects cannot be transmuted into animate objects. While a tree is alive, for instance, it cannot be transmogrified into a skipping leprechaun, because trees don't move... at least, not the way animals do.
Here is an example: Transmogria transforms X into a dragon. Since dragons naturally have the power of flight, X can fly, but X cannot breath any element or exhibit dragon resistance to the said element (unless X, by themselves, already have the ability to do so). Since dragons have claws, X can deal clawing damage, but if X's physical attack is low, no matter the size of the dragon transformed into, X's claw attack will be as woeful as their natural physical attack, and no matter the apparent thickness of the dragon scales, X will still take normal damage from attacks.
Transmogria is a useful tool that grants great versatility: it can transform a weapon into a different tool more conversant with the user or can smuggle them past guards as harmless items, can transform the user into a small animal for reconnaissance, subterfuge or escape, can quickly alter tailoring to fit the situation, punish annoying foes by turning them into pigs, or can mislead pursuers by transforming to a different lifeform (human, elf, etc.). The size of the object undergoing transmutation depends on the magic power of the object, unless it is inanimate. Non-mages or mages with low MP do not tend to attain a size larger than what is expected of a human. Creatures with a high MP, however, can be transformed into colossal objects, spanning hundreds of meters. Useful as it may be, Transmogria cannot transform the user into a player controlled character, NPC controlled by a player, or important/event NPC without OOC approval. Also, Transmogria cannot affect any items belonging to players or important NPCs without OOC approval. Transmogria can be cast on the wearer of the Alchemist's Bauble, or on any target within the spell's burst rank range.
The user also enjoys a 90% increase to spell healing while the spell is active.
Name: Elixir
Rank: S
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Passive
Description: It is said that the elixir can cure any ailment. The user enjoys a 60% buff to spell healing. Unless the affliction is caused by magic, and requires negation, the Elixir enables the wearer of the Alchemist's Bauble to use any healing spells they have to cure any mundane affliction whatsoever. The potency of healing spells augmented by this ability is quite impressive, being capable of empowering such spells to heal grievous injuries and restore lost limbs and organs. It can also break magical curses and maledictions (such curses inflicted by player controlled characters or NPCs, and important/event NPCs require OOC permission for the curses to be lifted). However, it cannot bring the dead back to life.
