A very contradicting sight was to be seen in the streets of Oak Town, well that was for the people who paid attention. But most of townsfolk just passed by the weird man that walked through the streets. There were some that did look up and raised an eyebrow or got an horrified look on their faces. It was because of his face. Aza'zel was scarred for life after an accident, leaving his cheek partially open so that his dentures were to be seen. Also every skin around his right eye along with the lid was gone. Leaving nothing then just a big round eye open for all the people to see. But the most off putting was that he looked happy and hummed while walking down the busy streets of the town. But still in a town as crowded as this one it was off course no surprise that most people didn't pay any attention to him. They were off course very busy with their own mundane lives.

But what brought the mad doctor from Divine Torment to such a place as Oak Town, mostly he wouldn't really get out much. Hanging around the guild and mostly scare the other members with his sudden appearances. No this time he was out for a job, a rather easy one. But Aza'zel didn't complain, doing a job so now and then was off course healthy.

Walking down the street he could see his client waiting impatiently for him in front of the designated inn. Walking small circles and always looking behind himself.
It was without a doubt the man Aza'zel needed to see.

    'Well hello there'
Aza'zel grinning face jumped in front of the man who gave a light squeak from being startled. And then off course followed the disgust on the face when he saw Aza'zel disfigured face.
'Oh don't be afraid, please. I am Aza'zel Margus Cacaroth and I am here to help you with your dilemma'
The clients face now returned to normal relieved that he wasn't being mugged or anything.

'Apologies sir, but you caught me off guard there. Lately I am always on guard because as you know for some reason my jewels are disappearing the moment I go to the market to buy stuff. And there is always this mysterious man in black walking around town. I don't trust him! He has be the one that steals my precious jewels.'
Aza'zel listened to the man while he kept grinning, but behind that grinning face Aza'zel was thinking about the situation. For some reason he doubted that the man in black actually stole his jewels. Because his his client appeared to be some what nervous. As if his mind was a bit broken. It probably was because of the twitching. But still it couldn't hurt to check this man in black out.
'Allright, then you go down to the market and I will follow you. And when you see the man in black around give me a sign by scratching the back of your head.'

When the client made his way down to the local market Aza'zel made sure that he followed him while keeping his distance. So that it looked like they didn't had any relation to each other what so ever. Once at the market Aza'zel would stroll the local stalls while keeping an eye on his client who was happily buying anything that he appeared to like. This went on for about an hour an Aza'zel just walked around with a bored look on his face. Waiting for the sign from his client. Who was now carrying seven bags with merchandise and other goods from the stalls.
Then when Aza'zel thought of buying something to eat to pass the time he saw the client scratch the back of his head, and nodding towards a person in the crowd. Aza'zel immediately turned around, only to find the suspicious person that would be stealing his clients jewels. But to Aza'zels surprise the man in black was no ordinary man.
'A priest? The man he is afraid of is a priest.'
Aza'zels mouth was hanging open a little that he realized that there were actually people in this world who were this paranoia or stupid enough to even suspect such an holy man.

It was not like Aza'zel had any respect for the people from the church of zentopia, in matter of fact he'd actually thought of them as nothing more then radical fools whom couldn't see further then their own beliefs. And definitely wouldn't see any merit in his experiments, they never did.
Aza'zel's grinning face showed a brief of annoyance when seeing the Zentopian priest, but it almost immediately returned to it's usual grinning ways. A sign that the memory from being hunted down by this church and being branded as a heretic still remained. Always hidden behind the disfigured smiling face.

But even so Aza'zel knew that these priests weren't known for their thievery or any fiendish activity. No they were known for their serenity and tranquility and their faith in their crooked religion.
He decided to keep watch a little longer and observe the priest and his activities at the market. But it appeared to be that the man only was there to buy two baskets filled with fresh vegetables and fruits. Leaving Aza'zel not other choice then to tail the priest some more and following him through town. It appeared that this was going to be a long day after all.

Aza'zel had left his client behind on the market, telling him to wait for his return there. So that he could pursue and shadow the zentopian priest in peace. Which wasn't such a difficult task besides the boredom. And during the Aza'zel's espionage on the mundane live of the priest there was no indication that he even had stolen anything in his entire time. But Aza'zel had to admit that there wasn't anything suspicious about going on house calls from the local residents and pray with them.
Maybe had to look in an other place, probably the local church itself.

Aza'zel quickly left the scene were the priest was praying together with some people, and made his way over to the church. Where he pushed open the large doors so that he could walk into the chantry and saw the colorful wall paintings and small statues of the worshipped saints from the church.
The mad doctor let out a huge sigh when seeing the sight of what he called insanity, he could never understood why people choose to belief in something where they didn't had proof for. Like his former guild master who believed in an all powerful dark being, before it was resurrected off course.
Shaking of the thought of his former guild, Aza'zel looked around till he found a door behind the altar that was filled with candles. So much that the wax from it even had dripped down on to the floor.

By carefully approaching the door behind the altar Aza'zel made sure that there was no one else, he even knocked a few times on the door and waited for a reaction. And when he heard nothing he quickly entered a small room that only contained your common furniture you found in most rooms. A bed, chest, a desk in the corner and a cabinet for clothing. Nothing that could indicate that the priest had been living in sin and spoiled himself with the clients money.
Even when Aza'zel searched the entire room for clues, but at last he found something on the desk that would help him to put a conclusion to his investigation. A list of tasks that the priest was doing daily. But the list was quite long and it was almost admirable that he managed to do all that every day. House calls, prayers, preaching at market, buy food for the homeless and bring it to the shelter and even read to orphans at the local orphanage.
Yes, Aza'zel was quite sure that this man was to busy for even thinking of stealing money from the clients pocket.
'I guess, I can bring this along to show it to my client' he said while putting the list somewhere inside his cloak. But when he was about to leave the room he heard footsteps coming from the chantry and a voice.
    'Hello?'

Aza'zel quickly managed to hid himself behind the opened door, just before the priest that he was following earlier today entered.
'Hello? Is someone here?. Hmm weird, I could've swear that I had closed the door when I left this morning. Maybe I am getting a bit older haha'
Aza'zel could see the priest talking to himself by just leaning a bit forwards so that he could glance around the corner of the door. And quickly scanned the room in the progress, at first he thought of escaping by killing the priest off. But he had still had to visit his client and if the body was discovered before that the local guards would definitely put the town into a lock down. He saw a small lamp standing on a small nightstand a meter or two a way from him. And without even considering it twice Aza'zel grabbed the lamp and swung it into the back of the priest's head.
The priest let out a small grunting sounds before he fell for over and hit the floor.
'Keke, well thanks for the hospitality mister priest'
Grinning because of his own bad joke Aza'zel stepped over the knocked out priest walked out of the church back onto the streets of Oak Town.

    'Heh Hospitality! Priceless kekeke'
Aza'zel walked down the streets back towards the market, still grinning from his own sense of humor and pleased that he could finish the job. But still he knew that he shouldn't linger to long around this town, because it shouldn't take to long before the crowds from the markets slimmed down and people started to notice him and his disfigured face. And when that happened they would call the guards telling them that there was a eerie and creepy looking character walking around. And the last thing what Aza'zel wanted was to fight his way out of town before he even had the chance to collect his money. He also longer for the guild again, where he could retreat to his room and attend to his experiments again and all the other untouched work he still had do.

It didn't took much longer before he reached the first of the market stalls and from there he continued on till he was surrounded by people again, and the sounds and voices of merchants debating with their customers over the prices filled the air.
Aza'zel made is way through the crowd till where the his client was waiting impatiently. Constantly fiddling with his wallet and looking around him.

'AH! You are back! splendid! Now tell me did you caught that blasted thief in the act! And did you punish him accordingly?!'
Aza'zel grinned as a response and shook his head.
'No, my dear client. And you know why, because that the man wasn't the thief. It was a priest, and we all know that priests don't commit any crimes.'
'Huh that can't be, it must be him! It has to be?! Do you have any proof!'
The clients face turned red with anger, unable to comprehend that he was blaming the wrong person the entire time.
'I matter of fact I do'
Aza'zel grabbed the list he got from the priest out his robe and showed it to the client by holding it in front of his face.
'As you can see, your blasted thief is someone who has a schedule so busy that he barely even has time to sleep. And besides I followed him the entire day and I am pretty sure that he haven't stolen any of your precious jewels. Anyway, that concludes our deal, I've done what you asked and followed the man in suspicious black clothing and it appeared to be that he wasn't the thief'
Aza'zel was standing right in front of the man now, his grinning face right before the client. Who's anger turned in fear and jumped up because of it.

'O..oh..allright then.. then I guess I have to pay you right'
The client rambled with a startled voice, and he carefully pulled out the jewels one by one out of his wallet as if he didn't want to miscount a single piece.
Aza'zel on the other hand was waiting patiently while holding his hand up for the jewels. He actually didn't really cared for the money, as long as he got some so that he could continue his research.

After the client was done counting the amount of jewels he started to speak again, and this time with a more confident tone.
'Allright.. that's it. You have indeed done what I asked, but I got one question. Do you have any idea what it could be?'
'Probably yourself, spending to much without knowing it'
The client looked at him with big eyes, filled with unbelief.
'How preposterous! That can't be it! It has to be another reason, probably far more sinister then just a thief! Probably some dark magic right. A curse probably, yes that has to be it. There is cursed placed on me!'

Now it was Aza'zel's turn to look a bit surprised, he already had branded this person as an idiot. But this was just ridiculous, his client was nothing more then a paranoid lunatic that couldn't deal with the fact that he didn't had any grasp on his own money. He shook his head again and turned around, leaving his client alone with his rambling and conspiracies. For Aza'zel it was time to go, go back to the guild and his master.
