Personality:
Kenshi is a kind man, made hard by a lifetime of warrior training and desperate by a recent period of hardship for his family. He is calm and stable, often called 'unshakable', though a current of humor lays just below the surface. He is ready with a smile, albeit a reserved one, for his friends and family. Underneath this layer of stone-like restraint and composure, he is a deeply emotional man, easily moved to the brink of tears by a well-written song or a chapter of his favorite book. Even food and drink can often affect him emotionally, if it is truly delicious. Even so, he rarely lets this emotion show on the outside, relying on his training and self-control to maintain a warrior's proper tranquility and serenity.

He is exceptionally loyal as both a commander and a follower, never turning his back on those he deems worthy of his friendship and trust unless they commit the most unspeakable and heinous acts. In the field, he will fight with all of his strength to keep his comrades and friends alive, even being willing to lay down his life for theirs if necessary, though he of course hopes it will never come to that. As a leader, he displays both a keen tactical mind and trust in his subordinates, issuing orders that will allow his followers to play best to their strengths and offset their weaknesses, the better to keep them alive and win the day. Most notably are the two scars high on his left cheek, which are much thicker and darker than his other scars and form a cross or 'X' shape. His hair is orange, resembling burnished copper when it catches the light, and is worn long, typically pulled back in a low ponytail that reaches his mid back. When loose, it hangs to just above his waist. His bangs are left long as well, in a somewhat shaggy style. His eyes are purple, ranging from a deep violet to a lighter lavender depending on the light. Due to the nature of his magic, when he focuses on a fight or activates his powers his eyes will turn a bright, almost glowing gold, oftentimes emitting sparks as well.

His outfit is the traditional garb of a Midian warrior, consisting of lacquered wooden sandals (zori), white socks with a cleft between the big toe and the rest of the toes (tabi), a white undergarment (nagajuban), a pair of billowing, pleated white trousers that resemble a long skirt (hakama, specifically umanori), a broad white sash-like belt wrapped twice around the waist and tied in front in an elaborate knot (obi), and a burnt orange jacket-like shirt that folds over his torso (kimono, specifically hakamashita). The outfit leaves a good portion of his upper chest bare, and the edges of the undergarment can be seen at the bottom of the sleeves and inner edge of the outergarment. When the weather is cold, he will also wear a long jacket-like garment that hangs to his mid-thigh in either burnt orange or black (haori). Both the jacket and the shirt are emblazoned on the back with his family crest (kamon), which takes the form of a pair of mountain shapes with a flame-like device in between constrained within a circle, embroidered in white.
