Appearance:
History:
No matter who they are, pirates, marines, merchants, adventurers, it is a widely known and recognized fact that all sailors share one common enemy, an enemy they hold as much respect for as they know love for her: The Sea. The source of their respective professions, the joy within their hearts, and their untimely demise. All those that spend their lives roaming the endless waves will eventually be swallowed by them, or so it is said. One man, a long time ago, had spent his life as part of a pirate crew, never amounting to much, spending the meager share of Jewels he earned from plundering the occasional ship on cheap rum and easy company. It was this life, led not to the fullest, that did not allow him to let go when his day had come. To the roar of cannons, his breath faded away, and he sank to the bottom of the ocean as the endless depths swallowed his remains, though before he could truly move on to the next world, a voice ensnared him, mysterious as the endless seas. It offered him a second chance at life, albeit one bound by the shackles of servitude. As the man would come to know later, this voice belonged to an abyss demon, and he had forged a contract with this creature to extend his own life span for the duration of 100 years. The catch, however, was that this pirate had to become part of the demon's underlings, the man accepting this deal without much hesitation. In the end, he was transformed, granted a portion of the demon's powers, and made to roam the seas anew, becoming known as the Scourge of the Abyss. His master instructed him to collect the souls of the living so the demon could draw power from them, the infamous, undead pirate building an almost legendary reputation for himself before one day fading away into nothing. The pirates wish, however, remained in this world, his regrets transforming the power granted to him by his master into a physical incarnation of his guilt and regret, of all the lives he had been forced to take, creating a lacrima imbued with a pure-hearted wish, one that wanted nothing more than a happy and joyful existence, the magical crystal being swallowed by the waves for a long time before resurfacing anew.

Appearance:
History:
Any pirate worth their salt knows the dangerous call of the Siren, said to lure sailors to their watery deaths with the sweet allure of song, beauty, and peace. They know to be wary of this temptation, as it is never what it seems, and once you are trapped in its pull it is highly unlikely you will be able to break yourself from the trance until it is far too late. It is unknown whether or not these sirens actually exist, or if they are merely a fisherman’s tale, one of many superstitions that sailors keep in an effort to protect themselves. What is known, however, is that the open ocean is a hazardous place full of all sorts of mysterious and powerful creatures. One such creature was a water dragon. Known only as The Siren, she would use her control over the sea and the air to trap unsuspecting vessels as they traversed the sea, pulling them toward her so she could devour them, ship and all. What became of the dragoness is uncertain, but the rumor among the well-known taverns and bars is that a daring pirate slew her and cut out her heart, using it to grant himself immense power. This mysterious swashbuckler’s legend has since faded into obscurity over the years, but the gossip among pirates is that the Siren’s Heart is still floating about the world, waiting to be rediscovered by one who would have true control over ship and sea ...

- Weapon - Claimed by Danny:
Name:
Ocean's Fury
Grade:
Legendary (+)
Type:
Weapon
Proof of Acquisition:
[Insert Link to Purchase Post]
Description:
A seemingly typical cutlass that looks slightly weathered from years of use on the high seas, its appearance belies its power. No one knows where exactly it came from. Rumors abound of the cutlass being a product of the supernatural, perhaps even the product of a bargain struck with dark powers, but no one knows for certain. Many tales are told over drinks and truth and legend mingle until it is hard to tell them apart.
What is known is that the sword had great power and was first used by a pirate named Captain James Kestrel. Captain Kestrel was an odd man who carried around a broken compass and had a strong liking for rum but had few equals when it came to swordplay. His sword allowed Captain Kestrel to slow down enemies with the force of the ocean and pierce the defenses of his foes with the power of a fierce gale. Some who faced Captain Kestrel and lived claimed that he had the power of the sea at his beck and call, so over time the sword he wielded came to be known as Ocean's Fury. Ocean's Fury remained with Captain Kestrel for many years until one night his ship was capsized and sunk during an unusually powerful storm that blew in without warning... superstitious sailors who heard of the captain's demise believed that the sea had reclaimed its property from him, but somehow the sword washed up on a beach near a port town and was promptly put on the market by an enterprising merchant.
Ocean's Fury is not the best weapon for melees with multiple opponents, but it excels in duels. Its powers allow the wielder to easily turn the tide of a duel in their favor by slowing down the opponent or by punching through their defenses with a burst of incredible speed. However, one should not get complacent when wielding Ocean's Fury because the tide can easily turn on the wielder if they let their guard down.

A cannonball amputated both of Teeth’s legs and as she sank to the bottom of the sea, she wished for revenge. For whatever reason, deity, or power, that desire was granted. She lived and was embedded with creatures of the sea. Thorns began to grow out of her skin and she gained gills, allowing her to breathe underwater. She used the snouts of saw sharks for her legs and fashioned herself a halberd from bones of sea creatures. She attacked the Royal ship, in the end, the creatures of the sea feasting upon the Royal marines and sailors. Teeth joined a new captain and outlived him. - Lineage - Claimed by Digit v2:
Name:
Buccaneer’s Bounty
Wielder:
[Insert Character Name here]
Proof of Acquisition:
[Insert Link to Purchase Post]
Description:
The life of a pirate is full of chaos and adventure, and as such, any pirate worthy of the title finds themselves at home not just among the swell of the sea or the salty wind up in the crow's nest, but also amidst the hustle and bustle of large cities and ports. A pirate is unpredictable and adaptive, often with a particularly dramatic sense of flair and, most importantly, an eye for treasure. More often than not, they were raised by the dangerous rules of the streets, having learned from a young age how to cheat the system to survive and turn just about anything into an advantage or tool. Full of a love for life and the desire to live it to the fullest, a true swashbuckling rogue has proven themselves to be ready for anything at the drop of a hat, accepting each challenge as it arises with gusto and panache. Some buccaneers have been more successful than others since the dawn of piracy, of course, and over the years they have handed down their trade secrets and tricks to their chosen proteges to ensure that their legacy and knowledge isn’t completely lost to time. From this arose a line of swashbucklers that became so renowned for their skills that many superstitions claim that they are not different pirates over the years, but rather a single pirate that managed to obtain the fountain of youth and achieve immortality, taking on pseudo names and aliases to cover the longevity of their life. This is not true, of course -- sailors do love their wives' tales and often come up with all sorts of supernatural explanations for things they don’t understand. However, the legacy of this fictional pirate is quite real, and lives on with each passing era as highly coveted and mysterious tricks of the trade have been passed down from generation to generation, one pirate at a time, and even now there is one lucky buccaneer out there that stands a head above their peers.
Abilities:
Jack of all Trades
Piracy is a vicious profession, one that not only causes conflict against enforcers of the law but also often puts one in a position of competition with other pirates that are all fighting for the same goods and glory. As such, if one is to survive in the chaotic world of high seas robbery, they need to be able to stay one step ahead at any given time, with a number of surprises and tricks up their sleeves. The wielder of this lineage gains an additional user rank advanced spell per magic they possess, capped at H+, as well as a second user rank advanced spell per magic that ranks with them up to S+. Additionally, they receive an extra user rank Signature Spell for each of their magics that ranks with them up to S. Finally, they receive 5 extra user rank spell slots that can be allotted to a single magic, and rank with the user up to S Rank.
Captain's Cut
If you’re a pirate, there is one thing that takes priority over nearly everything else: Booty. Plundering for treasures and increasing your wealth and assets is the primary goal of any true pirate, and as such, the wielder of this lineage gains an additional 150% increase to jewel rewards when turning in jobs. Additionally, the wielder of this lineage is so adept at swindling and thieving for loot that they can gain up to two custom pieces of equipment equivalent to the rank of the job, following the Tables and FAQ section, that they have managed to “acquire” on their jobs… whether legitimately or otherwise. Equipment gained this way cannot be sold or traded to other players, but can freely be traded amongst the user’s own characters.
Faithful Companion
What would a pirate be without a trusted and loyal pet by their side? Whether it’s a parrot, monkey, Exceed, or anything in between, the wielder of this lineage gains an additional combat pet to customize as they desire. The pet must be graded along with the rest of the lineage for approval and their abilities must follow the Tables and FAQ section and guidelines for combat pets listed in the rules. This Combat Pet does not count against the total number of Equipment a player can possess and can thus be used in addition to a regular Combat Pet.- Custom Combat Pet:

Description:
Pirate's Stamina
Pirates are, more often than not, disgusting. Historically speaking, they are not generally known to be the cleanest of individuals, and they are infamous for being able to consume copious amounts of alcohol as well as stale and questionable foods while out at sea, somehow managing not to die from any kind of alcohol or food poisoning. Because of this, pirates, in general, tend to be heartier people that can not just withstand ill effects that would bring most people to their knees, but even continue to fight and show impressive dexterity no matter their environment or the state of their body. The wielder of this lineage receives a 50% increase to their base HP, base MP, as well as their base Spell Speed. Additionally, they receive an automatic 25% resistance to all poison-, venom-, or toxin-related effects. This ability is capable of superseding the normal 50% limitation on counters when it comes to these effects.
Tavern Brawler
Masters at adaptation, pirates are adept at using whatever tools are available to prevail in a fight, even if those tools weren’t actually designed to be used as weapons or armor. This type of improvised equipment allows the wielder a unique advantage in combat based on street fighting tactics that they have picked up over the years. Up to one time per post, the wielder of this lineage may pick up an item that is not classified as a weapon and use it as such. This improvised weapon deals additional melee weapon damage at the user’s max equipment rank +50%, capped at Artifact. (So an A or S rank user can treat an improved weapon as dealing additional melee damage equivalent to a Legendary weapon’s max damage +50%.) These improved weapons may only deal melee damage and do not have any additional abilities or effects. Additionally, up to once per post, the wielder of this lineage can pick up an item that is not classified as armor and use it as a shield. This improvised shield has a durability equal to the user’s max equipment rank +50%, capped at Artifact. An improvised shield can absorb the given amount of HP before it shatters and is permanently destroyed, allowing the rest of the remaining damage to target the user as per normal spell rules. Like the improvised weapon, an improvised shield does not benefit from any additional abilities or effects as normal equipment does. In both cases of improvised weapons and shields, the item being used must be a mundane, non-magical item that one can reasonably wield in one or two hands, such as a beer bottle, a chair, etc. Since these items are incapable of benefitting from the spells and abilities that normal equipment uses, such as piercing and anti-piercing effects, they do not reduce the user’s base MP by 1% like normal. The user may only wield one improvised item at a time.
