Personality
When he was alive, Lycan was known to be an infamous sorcerer and fierce warrior who was feared throughout the land of Iceberg. Lycan comes from a long line of warlords, conquerors, and paladins. Nearly all the patriarchs within his family died a noble and honorable death in battle, that would be until Lycan broke that family tradition. For a Balaur, Lycan was known to be rather different from the rest of his family, and even when he was younger, Lycan desired to be different from his kin. While his father and grandfather saw death as an inevitable reality and chose to embrace its cold grasp on their own terms, Lycan saw death as a disease and obstacle one that he desired to overcome. In his younger years, Lycan foolishly thought that any man of any significant strength should be able to overcome death and dedicated much of his time unlocking the secrets of dark arcana to achieve eternal youth. Before his father died in battle, he shamed his son for this obsession and chastised him multiple times. For this reason, Lycan had grown to hate his father and did everything in his power to achieve immortality. He had made a deal with a dark figure, sacrificing his soul in exchange for immortality. The dark figure transformed him into a vampire, and cursed him with eternal youth.
While most vampires turn into a feral monster after being transformed, Lycan has managed to avoid that small issue and retain his personality. By carefully selecting his meals and becoming a connoisseur of blood, Lycan has managed to avoid becoming an animal and even learn a few tricks along the way. Lycan has retained the demeanor of an astute nobleman, one who carries with him a sense of curiosity and mischief. He is known to posses refined manners that one would expect from a nobleman or royalty, alongside, a dark and twisted sense of humor that is not accredited to a nobleman. Lycan has a complicated relationship with other humans. On one hand, Lycan finds humans to be rather fascinating and enjoys being around people and having conversation with them. At the same time, Lycan view humans with piety and disdain, believing that they are petty for not indulging their darker aspects and viewing them as inferior. He takes joy in playing mind games one people and trying to figure out what makes them motivates them to wake up each day and continue on with their miserable life. But his disdain and arrogance towards humans does not prevent him from showing genuine respect and admiration towards people who manage to beat or or outsmart him.
