I will never ask for nothing that I won't give in return
You will never have to question the value of my words
Amalie
It had been quite a journey for Amalie West, looking out over the sea with nostalgia in her heart. She eyes the coastline of Amber Island, not unlike the same sight she had looked upon when she first went to Divide Island. Albeit more friendly and less intensely guarded, the paranoia of the WFTC much more evident than on the island inhabited by Dies Irae. But then perhaps it was because they knew that their military might was so great that they didn’t need such intense security. Only an idiotic faction would try to take them down at this point and the likelihood of them failing was unbelievably high.
She reflected upon how much she had changed as a person. Back then she was even more untrusting than she was no, although that had only altered slightly. She was also more manipulative and blase about her duties. She cared only about accumulating enough money, prowess and power to make her untouchable, so that Charles couldn’t hurt her. But now her values had changed, she found things she never expected to. And whilst externally she appeared the same cold shell of a woman that had wandered into the WFTC company, inside she felt completely different.
There were a few people responsible for this transition, and a key player in that change had been Sivvy. Sivvy who she had met under the orders of Johann, who in the space of less than a year had gone from some quirky girl she had helped moves into her apartment to her closest friend. Her deep attachment to the girl had shown Amalie that not everyone wanted something from her, that expected her to behave in a certain way. That someone existed who was just happy for her to be herself and would like her for it regardless.
And so Amalie pondered this as she waited, the Ambassador and herself had been requested to investigate a series od beeak ins here. Not especially big cases but as Amber Island was under their protection, they had to do their duty to oversee the concerns of the people. No matter how small. A few confectionery shop buglaries had to be handled with care and diligence, this much was understood. And so she waitsd at rhe beachfront, not to far from the entrance to the shopping pier where the break ins had occursd. Her bright red uniform a significant contrast against the sunny view that surrounded her - making her easy to spot for when her companion arrived.
