Maebh (may + v) Aoife (ee + fa) Holt, born on December 16, and filial daughter of Arthur Benjamin Kingsley Holt. She attended an all-girls school, where she proved herself an exemplary student and a fierce friend.

After graduating, Maebh nabbed a desk job within the newly-established Meliora Vitae guild. Because of her love of nature, albeit holding a grander preference for aquatic wildlife, she was set on working for them one way or another. She was also extremely active in volunteer work, from helping the poor to animal sanctuaries, all for free.

Maebh, like hopefully most, has a natural inclination to make people feel comfortable and loved. She is friendly within seconds, quick to introduce herself, smile, and even reach in for an amicable handshake or hug. She is polite, not poshly so, easygoing, and conversational, even when uncomfortable. She effortlessly thinks of others, having come from a big family and operating in that way, a testament that she is concerned with how people feel.

It’s easy to deduce that she may care too much, but that is not the case; in the way she has crammed multiple very personal tasks and experienced working alongside her family over the years and having faced all kinds of people at the Bed & Breakfast, she can also put her foot down and savagely kick people to the curb. But she relies heavily on the love of her family as they are the strength behind her bold and plucky nature. She doesn’t believe that anything could ever possibly touch her, admittedly a silly belief, because in numbers they, they being her kin, are unstoppable. She longs to make more memories with her father, to make the great Commodore Holt proud of her, even though part of her knows well she can’t be too selfish. He is out there doing great things, and she must understand that he cannot be hogged by the likes of her. She is no longer a little girl, after all.

She must live her own life and keep moving forward. The idea of being forever alone or simply living a full life as an unmarried woman is terrifying to her and comical to others. She loves to think about the future and all the splendors of it, but because of her fear, she may actually be the first to initiate anything in order to prevent an outcome full of odds. From snagging an opportunity to asking a fellow out, she is confident enough to tempt fate and change it around to her liking, on the condition that it doesn't compromise any of her good values. This does not mean she isn't' capable of causing mistakes, as she acts entirely on feeling and pursues with single-minded intent if she feels she is in the right until proven wrong. If proven wrong about a course of action or a solid decision, she will mope and will require the sympathy of her friends and family to get back on her feet because she will honestly have a hard time swallowing the 'you're so wrong' pill. Her reliance on people can be a little alarming at times.

+ Marine animals of the deep capture the heart of this sea-loving enthusiast.

+ Her family means everything to her. Whenever her father visits, such a very rare treat indeed, it's the closest thing to heaven for her. Even as an adult, she will 'play the drum' on his stomach because, well, she can.

+ To make up for ignorance, she was at her truest when it came to enlisting her services in humanitarian projects. Often, her concern extended itself to the welfare of animals, as both worlds are very important to her.

+ Kelp forests mesmerize her.

+ The Bed & Breakfast her family runs. She will occasionally surprise people with baked goods that look like mythical creatures.

+ Meat, meat, and more meat. She has a hearty appetite and ain't afraid to show it.

+ Sweet, fruity alcoholic beverages. She must be supervised at all times or she will abuse it. She has a powerful sweet tooth and doesn't know when to stop.

+ Studying was never an option. It was always difficult for her to retain information as she relied heavily on flashcards and extreme repetition over conceptual understanding. In short, she was never as academically accomplished as school records would have had it.

+ Fear is a natural and accepted emotion. Betraying your dearest friends, your family, or even a stranger due to cowardice is the quickest way to lose her sympathy and respect. The worst crime in the world is to do nothing.

+ She isn't appreciative of extreme feminist views. She supports equality.

+ Back when she was in school, she often found it boring when fellow girl-friends exhibited an extreme thirst for the occasional male professor. Hypocritical considering her cheesy, romantic daydreams. All starring Professor Snaccbar. Concisely said, flirting with authority figures.



Motivations:

+ She wants to grow in the guild, figure out the best moves in order to help MV expand. Because she's surrounded by more talented folk, she has to work so much harder than those with magical capabilities and she knows it.

+ Aries, the family friend, is the reason she wants to actually learn good manners and exude the same level of poshness he always did. The only problem is, she isn't anywhere close to being that graceful. Doesn't hurt to try, though. Raise that pinky higher!

+ Making her family proud.

+ Helping the less fortunate, even the scary man her father hangs around with.



Fears:

+ Elijah St. Clough, the boogeyman incarnate. She feels uncomfortable just thinking about him, what with his cold eyes and stiff upper lip. Reason? He never smiled her way, not even once. It's hard to believe such a miserable person could exist. She would even go so far as to theorize that he paid her jolly father to be his friend.

+ Her father never coming back. This falls under the same umbrella as losing her family.

+ Never getting hitched. She just wants to be a doting wife to a good husband. Maybe have a child or two. How about three? She doesn't want to die a lonely old biddy.

+ No second breakfast.
