-Neutral Grounds, iLac Factory, early afternoon-

Wearing her white Steel Matron t-shirt and black skirt with white tennis shoes, Victoria felt strange as she strode towards the iLac Factory. All of her magic had been disabled the moment she set foot in the Neutral Grounds... even her ability to change between forms did not work. However, Victoria was "Tall Victoria", so she was not too concerned about being unable to change back and forth. What was more unsettling was her inability to use any of her magic or bring out any of her weapons. If she was attacked here all Victoria could use against them was her fists and a lot of harsh language.

Thankfully Victoria had reached the iLac Factory without any trouble and was now standing in a spacious lobby that had gray marble tile flooring, dark and polished wooden counters where employees stood ready to greet customers, and other nice decor features. In the lobby was a line of nine people waiting to get their hands on the portable technological wonder that everyone was clamoring for. She had heard that her SHG-IV Smart Glasses could connect to them for video recording and other multimedia functions, a feature that could help her take down Francesca Corlone. Aside from having an evidence-gathering tool with which to take down her old enemy, Victoria could also use the iLac to keep in touch with Abigail Windstrider, Florence Manderley, and other mages she was on friendly terms with.

Victoria stepped into a line labeled "New Customers" and waited patiently behind the ninth person in line, who was a red-haired young woman wearing a blue t-shirt and black skirt much like Victoria's own except that it was knee-length. Victoria listened to the music playing softly on the overhead speaker, which was a saxophone solo that was surprisingly smooth. It reminded her of Baird playing his saxophone at the festival that time.

-One hour and fifteen minutes later, at the counter-

"Hi there! I'm Claudia and I'll be helping you! How can I help you?" A young blonde woman with a ponytail and a company uniform of a blue polo shirt with the iLac logo on the left and a white name tag on the right and black dress pants with black shoes greeted her in a cheerful manner. To her right was a computer monitor and below it was a keyboard.

"I'd like to get an iLac, please." Victoria replied. Claudia smiled.

"OK, I can help you do that! We can customize them in a variety of colors and patterns so that you have an iLac that stands out from everyone else's!" Claudia informed Victoria. The brunette took a few moments to think of a color for her iLac. She was initially leaning towards a woodland camouflage pattern, but then she thought about how loud that would be and decided to go for something a little less conspicuous.

Olive drab.

That would do the trick.

It had a military vibe without being too loud. Another benefit was that if she dropped it in the woods she could easily find it.

"Do you have an olive drab color like the one used on old military vehicles and clothing?" Victoria asked. Claudia nodded.

"We certainly do!" The cheerful blonde replied. She turned to the monitor and typed for a few seconds, then turned the monitor where Victoria could see it and showed her what the iLac would look like with the olive drab color. The brunette smiled.

"I'd like that one, please." Victoria requested. Claudia smiled and turned the computer monitor around again and began typing and clicking a mouse. About a minute later the blonde finished typing and turned to Victoria.

"In just a few minutes you'll have your brand new iLac!" Claudia said to Victoria. Victoria nodded and listened to the overhead music, which was another saxophone piece that had a faster tempo and a more upbeat sound. After a five-minute wait the young woman suddenly walked to the left and through a set of double doors, then emerged roughly a minute later carrying both an olive drab iLac and an instruction manual that was thick enough to stop most small arms fire; anything that was not a bullet from an anti-materiel rifle would be stopped well before it could hurt Victoria.

"Here's your new iLac and its instruction manual! You can either take it home now and figure out how to use it or I can show you how to use it right here!" Claudia handed over the device and its manual, then offered to give a tutorial and demonstration of its features. Victoria looked behind her and did not see anyone standing behind her. She had nothing else to do, so why not go for the tutorial so that she would have a basic idea of how to use it right away?

"I'd like the tutorial, please." Victoria said, handing the iLac back to Claudia. The blonde smiled.

"Sure thing! OK, here's what you do to turn it on..." Claudia launched into the tutorial, turning the device on its right side and showing Victoria the power button. Victoria nodded and watched the iLac employee demonstrate how to turn it on. Once the device was on Claudia began showing Victoria the device's other features, of which there were plenty. This tutorial was going to take awhile, but Victoria could not wait to start using her iLac for real. As soon as she could Victoria planned to download the NeverLost app her friend Abigail had on her iLac so that the brunette could more easily find her way around Earthland.
