Oshibana, a quaint little town of railroads and peace. As reasonable and out of the way a place to have an under the radar meet up as Julius could ask for. Which begged the question of why more than one guild member was required. Not that Julius minded too terribly working with the snarky but pleasant enough Juuya again. It just did not seem to make much sense to him to send more than one person for a simple contact meetup. Despite the oddity, Julius was always one to attempt to make the best out of a nonsensical situation. With two of them on the job, he could simply go as someone other than himself. After all, every opportunity to gather information and connections without implicating himself was a beautiful opportunity indeed.
As such, shortly after he met up with Juuya he had begun his transformation spell. This time it had been....painful, but such was the price Julius paid to become a different person in truth rather than just appearance. When all the pain was said and done he went from standing a few inches shorter and about twenty pounds lighter than Juuya, to towering over him by at least a foot and a hundred pounds of muscle and tattoos. Inconspicuous? No, but with Juuya along they never would have been no matter how bland Julius had made himself look. This way he imagined many would refuse to look their way out of sheer intimidation. At least it better as unwieldy as this form was despite Julius' lengthy practice in it. At least it felt appropriately strong.
Ducking through the portal in the guild hall Juuya formed with a lacrima, Julius stepped out into the middle of Oshibana with a modicum of wonder. He eyed the portal in awe, pondering if it would ever be possible for him to connect such distant locations. The best he could manage at current was a few hundred feet out. Granted that was generally plenty for his purposes, but there was still much and more to be said about being able to travel multiple cities in distance all at once. Definitely something for him to work towards as he gained more magical power.
Glancing about, at the behest of Juuya's questioning, the beady eyes of Julius new form told him that no, this was not in fact the edge of town. It was the middle of a street, and was...suspiciously empty. Scanning the street, Julius could not find a single person moving about. Odd, even for a relatively quiet town. Just then, Julius picked up a bit of motion from a rooftop nearby and he realized things were about to become far more troublesome than a simple contact mission. "Down!" he yelled out to Juuya as he stepped in front of him. There was a sudden echoing thrum over the open street and a blur of an object slammed into Julius' right shoulder.
He let out a breathy gasp as he looked at the object and found a fletched arrow a solid few inches into his body. Shock had taken hold swiftly thankfully, otherwise he imagined he would have very little reasoning left to him. If that had hit Juuya instead... well his face was just about at shoulder height in this form. Julius' eyes trained on to the rooftop in question and with a gesture of one hand, he tore open a portal near the crouched form. Doing the same near himself, he reached through with as much swiftness as he could muster, and ripped the man through the portal and down to the street with them by his throat. A plain old bow clattered to the cobbled street as the man struggled to remove Julius' fingers from his windpipe.
Turning to Juuya, Julius held out the form of their ambusher.
"Seems someone does not want us to meet our contact. Might not be the only one. What do you think we should do with him?" The man struggled uselessly, punching at Julius' forearm. Julius made no effort to squeeze, so the man remained conscious and able to breathe, albeit in an uncomfortably labored manner. As a bit of the pain of his injured shoulder registered, Julius winced. He would normally just kill the man, but that would rather soundly defeat the purpose of looking like Juuya's hired muscle.
