Description:
Once upon a time, an author who liked to write really weird and scary stuff came up with a theory that discovering the unfathomable truths of reality that he felt lay hidden beneath a fragile shell of normalcy would slowly fracture the fragile human mind. Though not one of his quotes, the saying “Truth is stranger than fiction” is a fitting and simple description, if you tainted it with the subtle horrors of the unknown and unknowable. Most people just explain away things that don’t make sense with science or just don’t think about it.
But of course, there’s always that one jackass that ruins it for everyone! On that note, behold, a horror of cosmic reality! It’s 100% authentic and 100% has no explanation other than “Well, this exists! Have fun wrapping your brain around this one!”, which it doesn’t actually say anywhere. No, all you get is a glass bottle with a baby ... something inside. It’s like Cthulhu’s red-headed stepson with a really ugly Kraken or something. I guess if you look at it sideways (while very drunk) it might even be cute. No matter what you do, though, you have to accept that it’s real and let that just warp you with all the implications.
Abilities:
Name: Well, That Exists...
Description: So now you have this little jar with this horrible white mess of tentacles, teeth, and rather disturbing red eyes dotted everywhere. I can’t think of a single practical purpose for this. Apparently it’s just meant to haunt you by simply existing, which is fitting given the horrifyingly correct theory that “explains” it.
There’s been a few that have opened their bottles, despite seeing how horrible it is. Those people eventually went insane (quicker than everyone else), so their word should be taken with a grain of salt. One said he just high-tailed it back to space where it could do whatever it does out there (probably eating all the happiness in the universe or small stars or something). Another said he just slurped right into his ear and melded with his dreams to ruin sleep forever. Yet another said his was a sadistic twerp and liked to disappear into the world, only to reappear at a gigantic size at the worst times to try to fight him to the death! I heard he finally lost. I wonder if you could get it back in the bottle? Or is it like toothpaste ...? (The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on a player character, a player-owned NPC, or an Event NPC as well as associated magics belonging to those mentioned).

For a thousand years, He has slumbered. The ancient one whose name is not dared spoken, for fear of bringing nightmares from his long unconscious, but never-resting mind. He stares at you from the abyss, claws reaching out to tap on your sanity and check for cracks, see where it can invade and corrupt you. There is an Order that worships him, wishes to bring him back to the world of the awake, and cast the world into chaos for one final time. This lacrima is one of many artifacts that have been stolen from the Order over the years by wayward adventurers who stumbled into a mess they had no right to investigate.
Unfortunately for all those poor souls, their frail minds couldn’t comprehend the power behind Dagon’s Eye and were soon driven mad. The lacrima has been passed around for some time, always managing to elude its original owners so that it can further drive madness into those unprepared and naive enough to pick it up and investigate further. And still, it waits, ready to spread his influence into anyone else that thinks themselves strong enough to overcome the madness. He is watching, waiting, and ready to bring you into his terrible, crushing depths.

Cosmic Truth

Description:
Usually when something is referred to as “two-edged” it’s in reference to a sword, but in this case, it’s a tome. Possessing this tome will bestow the owner with great and horrifying cosmic power from a being quite literally beyond our comprehension, but it will also likely warp and eat at any sanity the holder possesses.
Cosmic Truth is a tome written by an avid believer in Cthulhu. He might even be called one of Cthulhu’s disciples. He firmly believed he could see and talk to the gigantic, ancient being. Some said he was already a bit insane before he embarked on this task, but per his writings, he actually held an unnatural mental fortitude that allowed him to interact with the pre-human aged god far longer than any other being was able. He was able to write down Cthulhu’s word on these stained and crinkly pages so that others might find it and learn the truth. The real truth.
Those with open minds that are brave enough to learn the horrific truths within will earn as much favor as Cthulhu can be bothered to bestow since it is written that he is trapped dreaming beneath one of the great oceans. The user may never see things in the same way again. They must accept the unknown and unknowable. They may start to notice the cracks in the “normal” shell that masks what’s really going on. They may start to see things no one else can see, hear voices no one else hears. And it’s rumored that if they are faithful enough, they might just find a way to wake up Cthulhu and release him from his prison. Why? No one knows. It’s certainly not to help lowly humans, who mean nothing in the scheme of things. Those that read this are helpless and hopeless to follow the words written and the drive to release Cthulhu, regardless of the good or bad that could come from it.
It’s said the writer went completely mad from the voices inside his head, but not before he made a couple of copies. He truly believed his calling in life, his purpose, was revealing horrible truths that lay just beyond the veil of perceived reality and releasing Cthulhu to his own devices. The truth of actual reality. It’s likely the same will happen to you eventually.
Abilities:
Name: Shared Insanity
Rank: User Rank (Up to B)
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Single Target
Duration: User Rank Max
Description: Whether the user has fallen into the pit of insanity trying to cope with incomprehensible truths yet or not, they can use the power inside in the book to project the horrible truths on others by uttering just a few demonic sounding incantations. The eyes of Cthulhu on the cover of the book will glow and a dark pulse rush toward the target. Having such words and images directly broadcasted into the brain can cause temporary insanity, either incapacitating them or making it very hard for them to function normally (The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on a player character, a player-owned NPC, or an Event NPC as well as associated magics belonging to those mentioned).
Name: Dreams and Realities
Rank: User Rank (Up to A)
Category: Offensive
Type: Multi Target
Duration: User Rank Max
Description: While its appearance varies, when a certain page is read aloud from the book concerning Cthulhu waking, the ground around the user will start to rumble, crack, and levitate. A gigantic ghost image of a grotesque creature with tentacles for a mouth will appear around the user, a manifestation of some of Cthulhu’s dreams running wild. It will attack foes within range with a myriad of horrifying attacks up to the user’s creativity. From acidic ooze pits beneath individuals and slimy spits to whips from its tentacles. Possibly even more damaging is the mental effect he has on those struck. Suddenly enemies will feel absolutely irrelevant and infinitesimally small compared to even the least of what's out there in the cosmos and may become incapacitated. Worse, despite how terrifying the image of Cthulhu is, in comparison to the reality of what actually exists out there in the unending universe, he's not frightening at all (The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on a player character, a player-owned NPC, or an Event NPC as well as associated magics belonging to those mentioned).

Description:
The Sword of the Deep Dweller is a sword that was found by an intrepid explorer in an undersea ruin almost a century ago. It bears the image of a golden face on the hilt and tentacles reaching down to the middle of the blade. The sword is uncommonly sharp and glows with power. When its power is used by chanting words of magic only the wielder can hear, the wielder can either empower themselves to deal more damage and cut through armor and magical shields like they were not even there or weaken opponents with unholy power beyond mortal comprehension. However, such power does not come for free.
The wielder often hears strange voices speaking in an unknown language directly into their ears as if the speaker was behind them. The voices grow in volume and intensity the longer the wielder uses the sword. Even the strongest wills can be overwhelmed if they cannot ignore the whispers to focus on the task at hand.
Abilities:- Plot Abilities:
The user can hear whispers in an unknown language while in possession of this weapon. The ability to decipher the language is needed to know what the whispers say and if they intend to help or harm. One must be careful when using the Sword of The Deep Dweller because focusing on what they are trying to say at the wrong time could be a fatal mistake.

Description:
A cloak that, while appearing to be made from the finest of Bellan silks, seems tattered around the edges, obviously worn and used for a long time, it's very distinct yellow color perhaps being the first thing that one notices while mustering this piece of clothing. Still, it feels and looks mundane enough to be mistaken for just any old piece of cloth, and yet, nothing could be further from the truth. This fact, while not necessarily accessible to just any beholder, will become more than apparent if the cloak is worn by an individual. Once put on, the individual's mind will be flooded with a madness-inducing cascade of whispers, dozens, hundreds of voices that all seem to claw at the wearer's sanity, seeking to tear it apart by a constant barrage of voices. While it is impossible to make out what the individual voices are saying, one will have the feeling that the whispers are bringing forth insecurities, fears, and mistakes, repeating their discouraging lines again and again, like a depraved form of prayer to an equally depraved deity. Still, if one is brave enough to face the whispers that lurk in their own mind, the cloak bestows powers of similar otherworldliness to the voices, able to fracture and twist the fabric of reality around oneself and within the consciousness of sentient beings, reshaping it according to the user's will.
Abilities:- Plot Ability:
I Wear no Mask: Once the cloak is put on, the user can choose to materialize a white mask over their face. If the mask is used, those interacting with the user will forget the entirety of their interaction once it is over, and indeed, will forget that the person wearing the mask was there in the first place. If the mask is not worn, however, those directly looking at the user's face will experience the same whispers as the user while the cloak is worn, a maddening cascade of voices echoing through the minds of those affected (All aspects of this ability require OOC permission to be used on any player, player-owned NPC, or Event NPC).

Once per post for this ability's duration, the user can shift reality, the yellow cloak around their form tattering and falling apart, leaving behind no trace of the user. Simultaneously, they may reappear instantaneously anywhere within this ability's range. Further, while the ability is active and remains active the reality-bending powers of the user coat them like a thin veil not dissimilar to the cloak itself, increasing their Spell Range by a user-rank advanced active buff multiplied by 1.5x.

Description:
Once a servant of light and forces of good, Matar'zuk was an angel of a god that had been fighting a so-called "Great Old One" at the edge of the universe. Part of an army that was fighting over the control of a once beautiful world, the forces of the god of light and the Great Old One clashing in a battle that lasted millennia, claiming not only billions of lives, but also the world itself and turning it into a devastated battlefield, Matar'zuk was simply a soldier in this conflict, a being created to fight, follow orders, and die for an ultimate goal it had no part in. Still, it fought nonetheless, as was its purpose, though its contribution would be of no effect. Just as Matar'zuk would join the battle, eager to fulfill its purpose, the forces of the Great Old One would execute a plan that would not only end the battle in one decisive strike, but also destroy the planet that both sides had so ferociously fought for in one decisive strike, pulling it into a dimensional gate of massive proportions and crushing it, and almost all combatants in the process, and scattering the remains across different plains of existence, galaxies, universes, and even dimensions, witnessing horrors of proportions unimaginable to any thinking mind.
This process would spit out Matar'zuk on the planet of Earthland, though the being would not be the same. Broken, scarred, tainted by inconceivable terror, the angel's mind was in tatters, madness afflicting it like a disease and corrupting not just its psyche, but also its body, it's once bright form turning dark and aggressive, as did its behavior. Without goal or direction and condemned to an excruciating existence in this world, the being simply wandered, the remains of its original creation compelling it to seek for some kind of purpose, some kind of cause or master to fight for, though with its life fractured and torn asunder by mania, who truly knows of the volatility and dangers associated with encountering such a being corrupted by the horrors of the cosmos.
Abilities:- Plot ability:
Voice of Corruption: Matar'zuk can communicate in any language of its choosing, doing so telepathically and over relatively long distances, up to a few miles. Its mind, however, is so fractured and its psyche so volatile that choosing to communicate with it is a gamble. Sometimes it might be surprisingly calm and intelligent, while at other times depraved shrieks and cries remain the only response one receives from this creature (OOC permission is required for this pet to communicate with anyone other than its owner. This applies to players, player-owned NPCs, and Event NPCs).

Description: While corrupted, Matar'zuk retains some of its original powers. Manifesting corrupted eyes around its form, it can, once this ability is activated, fire laser-like beams of charcoal-hued darkness from these oculars at its desire, the central eye of its body included. Any successful hit will deal user-rank advanced Multi Target damage + 50% to the target or targets hit by the attack. Further, the beams possess a considerable power and can, like their counterparts made from like, slice through almost any material without much effort, piercing applicable shields, armors, and barriers, though this process diminishes the beams' effectiveness somewhat, the attack sacrificing 50% of its base damage if used in such a manner.

Description: With a terrifying shriek, Matar'zuk releases a dark wave of pure madness around itself, resembling a dark fog that afflicts the hearts and minds of those hit with it, causing them to experience temporary madness themselves. Their surroundings will be warped, producing images and figures representing their worst fears, their deepest nightmares, and their greatest horrors, which will constantly assault, berate, and harass them, though this illusion is subjective and plays out differently for every individual affected by this power (OOC permission needed to be used on players, player-owned NPCs, and Event NPCs). All those affected, however, will be immobilized by the overwhelming sensation of sudden mania and the resulting fear as well as disorientation. This can only occurr once every other post for the ability's duration at max, and targets must be hit again in order to be afflicted with the paralysis once more. Lastly, the affliction that befalls those haunted by madness makes combat effectiveness harder to maintain, the symptoms of mania and psychosis increasing the Spell Cost of all opponents hit by this attack by 100% for the duration of this ability.

Description:
This thing, whatever it really is, is something that shouldn't exist. Neither dead nor alive, it was born from the twisted and corrupted thoughts of a being known to many as an Outer God, molded into an avatar of its consciousness to serve as an anchor for its interests on a peculiar planet referred to as "Earthland". The mysterious being had become aware of the fact that, in this world, a great many secrets seemed to simply wait to be discovered, taken, and abused to attain more power, particularly the living things that dwelt on this world. Who knew? Perhaps they would even give the being an edge in the ever-raging cosmic conflicts that had thus far spared this world of magic. It wished to learn, to understand. Naturally, as a deity of quiet whispers, mystery, and shadows, it had chosen to infect the shadow of one particularly powerful mortal from this planet, choosing them as its vessel and granting them the power to summon and assume control over its avatar. It seemed, however, that the mortals were a little less ... durable than the being had anticipated. It appeared that serving as a vessel for an Outer God was not something the things calling themselves "humans" could endure without their mind being torn asunder, driven into madness and insanity. It had turned out that, while powerful, the chosen vessel was of weak will and could do little to keep at least some semblance of stability, their cognitive functions falling apart, and this human thus ceased to be of use to the Outer God. It was swiftly discarded, and without the powerful influence of an even more powerful patron, it perished. Still, the being had learned its lesson. Humans appeared to be quite individual, and so, it would simply have to find a new vessel. One of a stronger will, one destined to the same madness, but perhaps a little ... brighter future.
Abilities:- Plot Abilities:
Shadow's Flicker: This creature, as an avatar of the Outer God of shadows, has found a comfortable home within the user's own shadow. Even under circumstances where no shadows can exist the user is able to produce a shadow. The Shadow of Madness can vanish within the user's shadow or appear from it at will and even possess the user's body with its shadowy form.

Further, this combat pet also benefits from all stat increases and modifying factors its user benefits from and vice versa, and this combat pet and the user can use spells of associated magics independently and separately from one another. A Nagl'yig is a terrifying parasite that ensnares its victims under the gaze of its mystical eye, pulling them into a world of perpetual darkness and despair. The way a Nagl'yig would essentially trap its victims is by turning invisible to the eye. Following its target from behind, it allows it's dark energy to seep into its host's orifices, spreading toxic void particles to their vital organs. Whilst they slowly poison their host, a side effect of its power is also known to drive the host to the brink of insanity in their final moments of life. Once it's victim dies, the Nagl'yig pierces its flesh with its sharp tentacles and drains them of blood before moving onto the next host. This once particular Nagl'yig, captured by an interstellar traveler, has been bound to a key and put under a spell that forces it to obey the will of the keyholder. Ever wondered to why dogs howl in the dark? Why cats prick up their ears after midnight? Ever felt a tingling sensation that made your hairs rise? Thought you heard a voice whilst you were alone? Saw something in the corner of your eye or glimpsed at something behind you in the mirror? Something is stirring around us. They are not from this earthly plane, this material world. They seep into this world from the shadow plane. The mirror realm. Animals still perceive some of it, though mostly they have grown dull to its presence. Evolved ever smart and keen, Humans lost sight of the true world. They would lose their minds and their lives if they could properly perceive it. Some individuals learn to open their Third Eye to see the truth. It grinds them into lunacy and empty shells, stored away in psychiatric wards or a casket when they could bear it no longer. Lunatics, madmen, witches, schizophrenics, and paranoids are some of the words society labels them.
Some cultures accept these gifted people as their spiritual guides, shamans, priest, or sorcerers. Communicators between this world and the spirit world. Only a few people who opened their Third Eye, from limited bloodlines, can withstand full exposure to the shadow realm and comprehend it, to some extent. To master certain elements, to ally with what is hidden to most. To fracture the fabrics between the two worlds, to unleash the dark truths upon this plane of existence at their leisure.

This wealth of knowledge from the ‘other side’ allows the wielder to gain more experience and extract more wealth from jobs. The wielder of this lineage gains 50% more jewels and gains 25% additional EXP from jobs. The wielder also unlocks four additional advanced spells slots to distribute among their magics. These spell slots rank up with them, two up to H+ rank, and the other two up to S+ rank. The user may also choose to give up an H Rank spell slot in one of their magics to gain an additional H+ rank advanced spell for the same magic, though this spell may only be used once per thread and costs double the base MP to cast. Further, the user also unlocks 2 additional signature spells that rank with them up to S rank for one of their magics and 5 additional user rank spell slots for one of their magics that rank with them up to S, though these 5 spell slots cost double base MP to cast. If any of these additional spell slots are used to create a summon type spell, the summon in question gains an additional ability equal to the spell’s rank.
Tenebrosus Aethereus Vis
Being exposed to the energy of the netherworld has certain effects, and some might lose their mind over it while others thrive. This energy is not unlike ethernano, though it is different, it also acts as a conduit to use magic. The user will therefore have a bigger mana pool, however, tapping from the shadow world has its effects. The user gains a second MP pool called corrupted ethernano (or CMP, Corrupted Magic Power), which can be expended to cast spells like regular MP. Their CMP is unaffected by any stat increases or decreases outside of the ones granted by this lineage and cannot be drained. The user's CMP pool starts out empty and fills up at 5% of their max CMP per post until the pool is full. The user's pool of CMP scales up with the user in rank following the chart below:- D Rank - 100 CMP
- C Rank - 150 CMP
- B Rank - 200 CMP
- A Rank - 250 CMP
- S Rank - 300 CMP
- H Rank - 350 CMP
- X Rank - 400 CMP
- Y Rank - 450 CMP
- Z Rank - 500 CMP
Custos De Inter Saecula Porta
Those who can open their Third Eye, who can harness it’s potential, are the Wardens of the gate between the worlds. They can create fractures in the fabric of reality to connect the world and the mirror world and bring forth the beings and power of the other side. The wielder gains access to a unique magic type called "Warden" which can be used to create magic. This magic combines the ability to utilize "Summoning" type spells and "Caster" type spells. The benefit levels for Warden type Magic are specified below:- Solitary: Character can have up to 5 Summon spells active at once. +50% to CMP
- Primary: Character can have up to 4 Summon spells active at once. +25% to CMP
- Auxiliary: Character can have up to 3 Summon spells active at once. +10% to CMP
Inanis Ambulacrum
The wielder, capable of causing rifts within space, can freely travel through the shadow realm. However, being there for too long can have its toll upon the sanity of the traveler. When reappearing from the tear, dark cosmic energy will be unleashed as well, exploding out around the traveler. Once per post, the user can teleport to another place within their user rank advanced Burst range (Up to H+). Once reappearing, the user can choose to unleash the dark energy upon the area within D Rank Burst range around them at D Rank Burst speed. The damage dealt is based on the chart below:- D Rank: 80 HP
- C Rank: 120 HP
- B Rank: 160 HP
- A Rank: 200 HP
- S Rank: 240 HP
- H Rank and above: 280 HP
Incredibili Mundus
The user is being affected by the mirror dimension, giving it peculiar abilities. This grants the user a 50% increase to Base Spell Damage as well as a 50% increase to Base Spell Durability. Further, the user's Spell Speed and Spell Range are both passively increased by 150%.
