Arthur Harrington's Bank
Misc Inventory:
- Spoiler:
❆ Scrooge’s Top Hat: A stiff hat with a flat top that stands a solid foot tall upon the wearer's head. It looks pretty old and worn, like Scrooge was too cheap to replace it over the years. Can be turned in with a future thread for a one time 25% bonus to EXP rewards.
Angel Costume: Awarded by a job that Arthur could have sworn was a dream, he never got around to completing the rest of the tasks that one green-haired angel woman had asked of him. It was so strange to him he just couldn't have been bothered to help her with something he wasn't even sure was real. This costume is quite skimpy too, Arthur doesn't think he'll ever really wear it.
Demon Slayer Lacrima: Encased within a winged silver amulet, this golden Demon Slayer lacrima takes the form of a religious amulet worn by Arthur even after learning its secrets. It radiates a golden color and is warm to the touch.

Type:
Item
Proof of Acquisition:
November 2020 IoTM
Description:
Using these special spirit crystals, you and your friends can walk on another plane of existence! With enough intense meditation, anyone holding these blessed stones can enter a trance and project their spirit out of their body in the natural realm into the spirit realm. Once there, you can explore and meet exciting spirits! You’ll meet spirits of all types; past lives, spirit guardians, ancient wise souls, terrifying menaces. You can commune with them as long as you’d like, but make sure your bodies are somewhere safe. Time may pass faster in the spirit realm, but spending a lot of time will leave you vulnerable in the real world. And I don’t think I need to tell you what happens if you die in the spirit world.
Abilities:
Name: The Pondering
Description: By taking at least one of these spirit stones in hand, a few moments of quiet meditation can open a whole new world to the user and their allies. Walking among the spirits has many benefits and just as many risks, but it’s always an adventure. The physical bodies left behind will become covered in glowing markings while you’re in the spirit world, and if the glowing continues upon your return, you may have brought back a passenger in your body, so be careful of that [The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on a player character, a player-owned NPC, or an Event NPC].
Name:
Sue (Strange Ugly Extraterrestrial)
Grade:
Weak
Type:
Item
Proof of Acquisition:
October 2020 IOTM
Description:
Once upon a time, an author who liked to write really weird and scary stuff came up with a theory that discovering the unfathomable truths of reality that he felt lay hidden beneath a fragile shell of normalcy would slowly fracture the fragile human mind. Though not one of his quotes, the saying “Truth is stranger than fiction” is a fitting and simple description, if you tainted it with the subtle horrors of the unknown and unknowable. Most people just explain away things that don’t make sense with science or just don’t think about it.
But of course, there’s always that one jackass that ruins it for everyone! On that note, behold, a horror of cosmic reality! It’s 100% authentic and 100% has no explanation other than “Well, this exists! Have fun wrapping your brain around this one!”, which it doesn’t actually say anywhere. No, all you get is a glass bottle with a baby ... something inside. It’s like Cthulhu’s red-headed stepson with a really ugly Kraken or something. I guess if you look at it sideways (while very drunk) it might even be cute. No matter what you do, though, you have to accept that it’s real and let that just warp you with all the implications.
Abilities:
Name: Well, That Exists...
Description: So now you have this little jar with this horrible white mess of tentacles, teeth, and rather disturbing red eyes dotted everywhere. I can’t think of a single practical purpose for this. Apparently it’s just meant to haunt you by simply existing, which is fitting given the horrifyingly correct theory that “explains” it.
There’s been a few that have opened their bottles, despite seeing how horrible it is. Those people eventually went insane (quicker than everyone else), so their word should be taken with a grain of salt. One said he just high-tailed it back to space where it could do whatever it does out there (probably eating all the happiness in the universe or small stars or something). Another said he just slurped right into his ear and melded with his dreams to ruin sleep forever. Yet another said his was a sadistic twerp and liked to disappear into the world, only to reappear at a gigantic size at the worst times to try to fight him to the death! I heard he finally lost. I wonder if you could get it back in the bottle? Or is it like toothpaste ...? (The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on a player character, a player-owned NPC, or an Event NPC as well as associated magics belonging to those mentioned).

Spirit of Protection
Grade:
Ethereal (+)
Type:
Combat Pet
Proof of Acquisition:
November 2020 IoTM
Description:
Long ago the knight who would become the Spirit of Protection swore to protect a king and his descendants even from beyond the grave. The knight successfully protected his lord for over two decades until one day a group of eight assassins burst into the king's throne room and cut their way through the guards, then made for the king and queen. The lone knight intervened and killed seven of the assassins, then engaged in a prolonged duel with the last surviving assassin that ended only after he was decapitated. The knight's valiant delaying action ultimately saved the king and his queen from certain death and ended in the death of the last assassin at the hands of more royal guards who entered the throne room not long after the duel.
The fallen knight was honored as the "Spirit of Protection" for his long years of faithful service to the royal family, but that was not the end of the Spirit. For many years after the king's death, his successors reported a spectral headless knight whose armor matched that of the deceased knight appearing from nowhere to protect them whenever assassins made attempts on their lives. The sword wielded by their protector was a spectral blade that could cut through cloth and armor with equal ease and cut through multiple opponents in one swing. The person being protected by the spirit also reported that when the knight gifted them a spectral suit of armor physical attacks did much less damage to them than expected and that magical attacks directed at them were absorbed by a ghostly shield, which then disappeared only to return a short time later if another spell was cast.
A little over two centuries later the king's line died out when the last king passed away without having any offspring and a new royal family came to power. Having finally fulfilled his oath to his lord after centuries of faithful service, the Spirit of Protection left the kingdom to seek a new lord or lady to protect. The Spirit of Protection has spent countless years looking for a new owner worthy of his service and perhaps his search will end soon.
Whoever owns the Spirit of Protection will have protection worthy of royalty from a knight who does not let minor inconveniences like being dead for centuries or missing his head get in the way of his duty. The Spirit will stand loyally by his owner's side and he will protect them and their friends no matter what dangers they face. Nothing will stop this knight from serving his owner and proving how he earned the title of "Spirit of Protection" so long ago.
Abilities:- Plot Ability:
Spectral Communication: Despite his lack of a head, the Spirit of Protection can still communicate with his owner clearly and without difficulty. He can speak in any language the owner speaks, although since he is originally from the past he speaks an antiquated version of it (think Elizabethan English). He can also communicate with people his owner encounters.
Name: Spectral Blade
Rank: User Rank Advanced (Up to A+)
Category: Offensive
Type: Multi Target, Piercing
Damage: User Rank Advanced Multi Target Damage +50%
Range: User Rank Advanced Multi Target Range
Speed: User Rank Advanced Multi Target Speed
Duration: User Rank Advanced Max
Downside: 2 effects are exchanged for 50% more damage
Description: The Spirit of Protection grips his sword tightly and the blade glows pale blue. He then swings the sword horizontally at the target(s), leaving a pale blue arc that lingers in the air for only a second. If the target(s) is hit, the sword passes through the opponent and does User Ranked Advanced Multi Target Damage + 50%. Further, ghostly shapes of blades can be manifested and fired at opponents within range of the ability as long as it is active. Spectral Blade can pierce armor and magical shields, but it gives up half of its damage if used to pierce. Spectral Blade can also harm supernatural entities.
Name: Knight's Protection
Rank: User Rank (Up to S)
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Single Target, Buff, Negation
Damage: N/A
Range: User Rank Burst Range
Speed: User Rank Burst Speed
Duration: User Rank Max
Description: Raising his shield above his head, the Spirit of Protection's shield glows gold and he bestows a buff on either his owner or a single ally of the owner within range of the ability. The buff grants a 50% buff to both Physical and Magical damage reductions. It also enables the recipient of the buff to negate a single enemy spell that enters Burst Range around the user per post by paying the MP cost of the spell in order to negate it. However, the negation only works on spells equal to the rank of this ability or lower. While the buff is active the recipient "wears" a ghostly gray and gold suit of armor that resembles the Spirit of Protection's. When a spell is negated a ghostly replica of the shield carried by the Spirit of Protection appears in front of the user and absorbs the spell, then vanishes in a burst of pale blue light.
