Riia had been in the human world for only a few days now and she was already getting bored. Of course, it wasn't anyone else's problem how the fairy was doing- but she couldn't help but feel like it was just the fault of humanity for not really doing anything interesting most of the time. From what she could tell, here in Oak Town, they just went to work every day, in various fashions. That or school, or ran errands or some type of busy work. There wasn't much else going on... so the fairy decided that she should just throw a party! It couldn't be something too crazy, or else some mean uppity uppity might come and try to shut down the fun. But maybe just a small fair, with pretty rides and lots of yummy delicious food? Riia had spent the afternoon brainstorming and testing out what was possible with the help of magic.

As life would have it, she discovered it was entirely possible to create a ferris wheel out of hardened sugar and power it with even more sugar. The perfect cycle! And in addition, she had created a miniature roller coaster that was definitely not up to safety standards, but, there were fluffy nets on the ground underneath (made of cotton candy) just in case any accidents happened! So everything was safe, and Riia was psyched. She had put together a food truck using a stolen van shh, don't tell and the menu consisted of cotton candy in all different types of colors and flavors. She had the whole rainbow! Furthermore, for those people who wanted actual legit real food, the fairy had managed to scrounge up by nicking them a boat load of other nice unhealthy snacks, like funnel cake, corn dogs, and even deep fried oreos. Humans were so weird! But they were surprisingly good.

All around Oak Town and in cities a few over and around, Riia had taken advantage of her super demon speed to post up flyers for the fair, emphasizing that there was free cotton candy and admission! Now all that remained was to see if people would come. And if nobody did, well, maybe she would have to do some enchanting...  that person over there looked like they subconsciously needed a break! "Hi! Want some cotton candy? My advice is sugar solves lots of problems, that's what I think," she winked at the stranger, holding out a thinly twisted cardboard stick that had an enormous puff of pink and blue candy floss wrapped around the top. Unsolicited advice or not, she hoped they would be interested! The fairy might have added a little bit of magical charm just to make it all the more convincing.

Post by Tabitha 25th July 2020, 10:42 pm

The last few days seemed to drag along for quite some time. What she didn’t really plan to have happen was that the family wanted her to carry out a few minor errands for them. If not for being in the area, maybe she’d challenge that. In the long run, Tabitha wasn’t much for denying the request of anyone in her family for fear of any ripple effects, or that they decide to mess with her things. Oh boy, if anything was gonna tip her the wrong way, it would be disorganizing her very specific and orderly fashion. It was as much a curse as it was a blessing and frankly she didn’t mind having it. It kept her very up to par of everything from personal hygiene to a very critically precise work ethic. Something some people would tend to find annoying, but they were inadequate beings whom she cared not one little bit for.

The neko had a taken a quick push to the task of getting everything together and done early in order to give herself some time to unwind and assure that obstacles wouldn’t be an issue in getting the job done in time. It did take a couple of hours, however. In the time Tabi spent in taking care of her business, apparently the town had begun to host the diabetes festival. Every child screaming around in joy, looking at the attractions and all that was thrown together. What at first seemed to be very strangely chosen decor colors for the rides turned to seeing that they were actually made of cotton candy! In what sane persons mind would you construct rides made of something as brittle as Cotton Candy!? Oh well, she hated that stuff anyway, so it didn’t matter to her anyway. The only reason she didn’t bring a quick dagger to the heart of the joy in all of this were the happy children. Why spoil their fun over her own dislike of something? It wasn’t their fault this came around, so being mad at them was nothing she could put blame on them for.

As the freelancing neko began to kick back and relax, she had jumped a little from surprise. A voice popped up from behind her, the pitch getting her ears to twitch. Feminine for sure, but sometimes that meant nothing. As she turned around, that.. stuff had been shoved into her face. Her body jerked back suddenly, making a small meowing cry. With her full outfit, she would look over the stranger so cheerfully offering her the sugary treat only to meet her with a small glare that came and went in the blink of the eye. “I’m nyat one for childish sweets.” Arms Golding ya her chest, she had taken to that point of advice she had and shook her head. “For me, the purrrrfect meal is a nice, seasoned fish. But thank mew for the offer anyway.”

Taking her eyes away from the pink haired girl, she would look over the rides and then look back over to her, now curious. “Are mew the host of all this? Or are all the workers as cheery and purrsonalble as mew?”

Ahh? Not one for sweets? And she called them childish, too. Riia scowled a little bit. How close minded! "Not all sweets are the same," the fairy chided. While she couldn't promise to be able to change peoples' mind, magical treats had a tendency to surprise people. Who knew, maybe the cotton candy would be fish flavored! "You should just try it!" She would urge, waving the stick of fairy floss in the stranger's face.

Whether or not the cat person felt like being amicable to her suggestion or not, Riia had no intention of giving up and would continue to shove the cotton candy fluff in the other's face until she either accepted at least a bite or did something drastic. Finally responding to her question, the fairy thought briefly before she smiled cheerfully. "I'm your host, owner, ringmaster, whatever you want to call it! There's as many workers as you could ever want or need!" A wave of her hand had several fair attendants seemingly stepping out of thin air, their bodies realistic in appearance but in reality, they were made of magicked candy floss. There was one or two of these at each ride, stationed to help make things run smoothly. They all operated on the fairy's magic but had a certain degree of autonomy. For example, one of them was eating their sleeve... well, it was cotton candy, so that was fine! She turned back to the stranger.

"Hey, you should take a ride! How about the carousel?" Putting her hands on the hips, Riia glanced the stranger up and down. She didn't seem like the kind who enjoyed watery rides like the splash log one. That was difficult to operate anyway because the seats kept melting, what with how sugar and water mixed and all. The carousel was one of the prettiest parts of the fair, with lovely horses, other animals, and miniature carriages or cars. Riia pointed twenty or so meters off to their right towards where it was located. "Admission is free!" She told the... whatever it was, trying to be helpful. Was it a cat? Or a human? Both, maybe. It really didn't make a difference to Riia, since it wasn't as though she was even human herself. But it was still kind of confusing.

This girl was much more stubborn than the neko had given her credit for. What she thought she was going to be dealing with was nothing like this. Mostly loud, screaming kids running from ride-to-ride while their parents dragged themselves along half to death. It seemed to be how normal people functioned and frankly the shadow mage was nothing less than enjoyable watching this all. Whatever the case was, comparing this strange girl to that of the annoying children felt rather fitting to her, however if things didn't deescalate quickly, there was a sneaking suspicion that she would end up having to choke down cotton candy being stuffed down her throat. "Fine, just stop sticking this crap in my face." She replied, snatching it from the pink haired girls hand.

Letting out an annoyed sigh, she would pull it up to her face and sniff it a little. Somewhat of an old habit of hers. When it happened in public, she never paid it mind so long as she wasn't hiding the feline features that she had been so happily gifted with. Giving a small nibble, Tabitha tried to endure the sugary snack and every bit of diabetic induced taste of sweetness that came with it. Trying to suffer through more, there was a point that she couldn't stand the taste any longer and tried to hand it back. "I can't. Holy crap, girl..." Reaching behind her, the tail of the cat girl would wrap around a glass of milk and be pulled over to be in enough reach by hand to take it. Quickly, she chugged the glass and set it back down on the table. "I just can't stomach super sweet and sugary snacks." She commented, trying to hand the treat back to the strange girl.

Though she should have been surprised that a girl whom looked as young as this one had appeared to be ran this, there was little that could surprise her to an extent. Her eyes had peered around to the surrounding rides while the girl explained whom she was to this place and it had come to be no shocker really. "Mew could nyever be meow owner." Tabitha stated flat out with a bit of a snicker to her comment. But as she had come to offer a ride on one of these odd life size child toys, it would probably take her mind off of things and so there wasn't really anything to lose by indulging in the girls antics for a little bit of time. "On one condition: mew come ride with me. I have a few questions and if mew made all this, certainly mew're worth the time~" With that offer thrown out there now, she would stand up from the seat and her tail swish around behind her and await the girls answer.

"If it's the sweet part you don't like, I'll just make it more bland," the fairy retorted, waving a hand over the cotton candy until it slowly faded into a white mess of spun sugar. While the treat was every bit as unhealthy as before, now it lacked the majority of the super sweet, intense flavor. "So maybe try it now, and tell me if you can stomach it!" If she still decided there was nothing pleasurable about the experience of eating cotton candy, Riia still would not give up. There were so many different forms her fairy floss magic could take, including ice cream mochi, pasta, and more. Her one promise was that as long as a person was being honest with themselves and herself, there was something available that they could love. For example, hadn't this girl said before that she enjoyed seasoned fish? Not only could the fairy one hundred percent make some of those, but she would if this new batch of cotton candy failed.

On the other hand, now this cat lady was telling her she couldn't be the owner! The sheer audacity! Riia blinked before scowling once more, casting a disappointed glance at the stranger. "I am the owner! Don't doubt me, you cat person," the mage huffed. Speaking of calling the other female a cat person, she really didn't know her name, did she? But Riia was petty enough not to ask for it right now. Even if she didn't want to get to know this woman any better aside from convincing her to eat her sweets and ride her fair rides, there was still those missions to accomplish. "I'll come with you! Which one do you wanna ride first? Into rollercoasters? The ferris wheel?" Hopefully, whatever this cat person wanted to ask wasn't going to be too weird. Riia herself could ask some strange questions or act out of common practice due to her origin, but she had equally discovered that humans could just be. Really bizarre at times.

Just make it more bland? What in the world was this girl talking about? Did she have some strange ability to magically create cotton candy? Well... some people weren't gifted enough like the Sinisterre to possess magic above the rest of the world. Ok... stop there. Rolling her eyes at her own sound of entitlement, the dark haired girl looked down and watched the color fade away from the cotton candy while she waved a wand over and over the sugary snack and then shoved back in her face with less of an impatient manner this time around. "Nya... Fine, only to keep mew from throwing another hisssssyfit." As she had made the last word, the verbal noise of a cat making a low sounding hiss had come out of her mouth, though it phased the cat girl not one little bit.

One more bite went into this spun pile of diabetes and once she pulled back with her mouth full and chewing it, the look on her face was very much debating and unsure. "Well, it shertainly ish lesh shweet..." She spoke, chewing with her mouth full still.

Tabitha couldn't help but become quickly amused over the way the pink haired girl reacted to her response. Maybe she misconstrued what she said for being this parks owner rather than her referring to proclaiming to be the neko's owner. Still, it was adorable enough that she reached up and patted the girl on the head. "You're rather purrrecious, little one." Yet the girl burst out like a defiant child as if she had told her she couldn't be the owner, which only constituted her to shake her head lightly. "I said my purrrsonal owner. Sometimes meow uh.. "accent" tends to confuse people. It's ok, meow little sugar plum fairy~" It was just a nickname, which fit in to her because of her height and the magical cotton candy. But looking around, the girl seemed ecstatic to begin riding her own rides. What could be a good one to go on first... certainly NOT the roller coaster. "The Ferris Wheel sounds good to meow. But... Do I have to worry about this stuff getting in my hair? I spent years growing this out to purrfection..." Her attention looked up towards the candy made ride, awaiting any cautions the girl may have for her upon getting in this. Who knew how this could turn out.

If it was less sweet, that was a great start! It seemed like this cat lady was more amicable to eating it, now. Anyway, the other things that she was saying just made no sense. What was this nonsense about a personal owner? Or was that a purr sona something. Something to do with purring, and cats. This cat lady really did seem to like cats, or maybe she was just a cat herself. That got the mage thinking even more. When she was called a sugar plum fairy, Riia didn't mind altogether too much. While she wasn't sure where that nickname had originated from, it certainly did vaguely fit. Plums were never mentioned whatsoever, but sugar! Sugar was her everything. And she was a fairy, too. Two out of three was a passing grade, if she knew anything about school systems for humans. (She didn't.)

"Don't worry, it won't get in your hair! I promise!" The fairy had absolutely no idea if she could actually guarantee this, but there was no harm in just saying so. After all, if Riia believed that her magic would do something, naturally, what she said would be the result, yes? "Just come along, this way!~" She guided the cat lady over to the ferris wheel and made sure to unlock the shiny gate so that entry was open to all customers. Getting on the ride was simple enough. Although it was empty for now, each spoke essentially connected to one side of a compartment, while another spoke attached to the other. Both spokes reached the center of the ferris wheel to stabilize it and hold it in place. All of this was created with lovely, delicious, edible cotton candy!

"You can pick any color compartment you like, I'll change this one to fit you," Riia promised the still unnamed cat girl. She gestured towards the compartment closest to the ground, which hovered only a few centimeters off of the platform. To get up to the platform, one only needed to ascend a few fluffy steps. "Our most popular colors are pastel pink and blue," she continued to explain in a very informative and polite customer service voice. Currently, the compartments were dyed those exact shades, but they could be modified for the person who would ride within.
