Two gold eyes looked towards the bright noon sky, shimmering with obvious excitement, full of life and anticipation for the fate that the future had in store. Freya Akerley, now calling herself "Taylor", following the suggestion of an acquaintance to use an alias to evade the attention of her family, she wouldn't want to take any chances, after all, had come to Magnolia, exiting the train station and merrily walking along down the road towards her intended target. A certain place she had heard of, also from said acquaintance. The girl thought about the brief time they'd spent together. No, she would call the blonde man named Alphonse a friend. Even if he didn't, wouldn't realize it, he had had a bigger impact on Taylor's life than he'd thought. He was probably already on his way home to Ca-Elum ... no, he had probably already returned and reunited with his family. Taylor wondered what his kids were like. He had told her of them, a girl and a boy. To think that all of this would happen in just a few days, perhaps little more than a week, when the last 18 years of her life had been so bland and boring. No more of that. As much as she enjoyed books, as much as theory was an integral part of earning knowledge, the practical was that much more exciting. She wanted to go out, she wanted to see and experience the world first-hand ... and being a guild mage would make her dream come true!

She couldn't begin to imagine the things she could learn at this guild, and the things she would learn as a guild mage. She had read about the guild culture, especially here in Fiore, which was why this nation had been her destination originally, though the more she had learned, naturally, the more curious she had become. Of course, her parents would've never allowed her to leave Bellum and join a guild in an entirely different country altogether, though her parents weren't here now, were they? She'd make sure that it would stay that way. The last thing she needed, and, as she was certain, the last thing Fiore needed was angered Bellumian nobles. Anyway, this wasn't what kept Freya's, or rather, Taylor's mind busy at the moment. Each step would carry her closer to the guild hall, and the closer she got, the more intense she could feel her excitement become, her heart happily pounding with joyous hope, the sword at her hip moving slightly with each step. She was so, so very close, the sign coming into view. The sign that read "Fairy Tail" sat atop a set of double doors of solid oak, which, in turn, were framed by a large brick building that, upon first glance, resembled more of an office building than a guild hall. She would stop briefly before the structure, her glowing eyes, shining in a particularly eccentric golden hue, staring up. So, this was it? Taylor took a deep breath and focussed inward. She could do this! This was everything she'd ever wanted. Now she just had to take a step forward and take matters into her own hands.

"Here goes nothing ...", the girl would whisper before pushing open the doors and stepping inside, immediately beginning to observe and take in her surroundings with attentive, but astonished gaze. The guild hall seemed a lot more impressive from the inside than it was from the outside, her eyes wandering around as she stood there, frozen by awe for more than just a few passing moments. Was this where she would work in the future? Only time would tell. The last thing she had to do now was, well, actually joining this organization called Fairy Tail, though, it was only now that Taylor noticed that she didn't actually know how. Would she have to talk to someone? Was there a test of some kind? She hadn't studied or prepared any answers. Maybe they'd want to see her prowess as a mage? That seemed plausible. They were a mage's guild, after all. So, she would remain there for a few seconds, thinking silently, wondering, though, a pleased smile on her face. She was so close now.

I have died everyday waiting for you, Darling don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more
    Nessa Cordelia Lux

Nessa had never enjoyed confrontation, not one bit. She was very much an advocate for settling thing in a calm and peaceful way. Or find a way that she could at least use her skillset to deal with it in a finalising manner. People were especially difficult to deal with when it came to confrontation, good people at least. Bad people were easy, take them down, lock them up, no problemo. But friends, acquaintances and work colleagues, now those were the types of confrontations Nessa feared. Which was why she was currently wincing in clear discomfort as she sat across from Estelle Delgado and Aaron Mantle. The Director of Lux Designs LTD and the Project Manager were both lovely people albeit somewhat headstrong.

And at present, they were going at it pretty intensely. Nessa had invited them to Fairy Tail to have their meeting about the runway event coming up. One where they were collaborating with other designers to feature the latest fashions including Nessa's start-up brand Lux Design Ltd. However with two alpha-personalities, there was a significant amount of clashing over timelines and details. The two of them were bartering back and forth at an incomprehensible speed, so much so that Nessa was struggling to keep up with the jargon. Aaron and Estelle were veterans when it came to the fashion industry, whereas Nessa was barely getting started. And whenever she tried to get a word in, one of them would babble over her, bringing up a new issue with the project.

It was in this moment that Nessa prayed for an interruption, some means to diffuse the situation or at least allow her a break from it. She did not feel comfortable in the slightest, and this entirely new world of business was kind of overwhelming. Especially with everything else she had going on right now. She knew the intention was to keep her busy and make her appear as though she was carrying on as normal. But she couldn't help the constant shadows of doubt that lingered in her mind, what if Rex wouldn't buy into it. What if they never stopped him? What if she had to spend the rest of her life consumed with the paranoia that one day when she was least expecting, he would retaliate.

And then it came finally, repreive.

Reprieve in the form of the door of the guildhall opening, as a petite blonde girl stepped into the building. Her golden eyes looking around the guild in awe, displaying an expression Nessa's recognised often from visitors to the guild. Flushed with relief, the silver-haired woman would stand suddenly, with such abruptness that she knocked over the chair behind her with a loud clatter. Estelle and Aaron stop barking at each other for a moment, glancing up at the twenty-year-old in surprise. Nessa smiled at them sheepishly, reaching down she picked up her chair, "Sorry about that, um. Would you guys excuse me? I have some ace stuff to do, I won't be a moment. Why don't you carry on going through the points and catch me up after." She told them, and without missing a beat, Estelle turned back to Aaron and continued her stern berating of his ideas. Nessa stepped away from the table, before scurrying off towards the newcomer.

As soon as there was some distance was between herself and the pair, Nessa instantly relaxed a little. Welcome for the break, she approached the girl, a friendly smile on her face. "Hello there, do you need help?" She offered eagerly. Deep down hoping that whatever the girl needed, that it would not be a short task, but one that would occupy her for as long as possible.

Post by Mura Kensho 21st June 2020, 7:09 am

Today was one of those days when pressure wasn’t felt as heavy on the shaman as usual. Certain huge requests had been completed, so Mura could focus more on his paperwork waiting for him back at the office in the guild hall of Fairy Tail. It wasn’t exactly something that he looked forward to, but he did look forward to returning back home to Magnolia Town. The usual greetings would meet him on the streets as many, if not all people knew who he was in this landmark. There was something soothing and magical about Magnolia Town itself, excluding the entire presence of Fairy Tail for a brief moment as Mura took a deep breath and embraced the atmosphere.

This all occurred much earlier today. After returning to his office, he renewed the guild’s documents on each member and… well, half an hour of sleeping, and he was suddenly driven to go outside and check the town out to see if he missed out on anything. Magnolia Town was the seedbed for Fairy Tail, and after having lived here for over 10 years, Mura couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. May the heavens forbid another separation between his guild and this blessed town.

Therefore, due to his growing love for the town, he darted out immediately and ventured across roofs and poles while having a list of requests from resident civilians. A list of duties that could be described as ‘community service’ was now running through his head as various clients were in need of help with everyday troubles as well as favors to want:

    - Someone’s cat was missing. Mura found it in the Kardia Cathedral messing with tools at the top of the bell tower, and its presence scared the crap out of the resident ghost who rang the bell on a daily basis.
    - It was a certain, small boy’s birthday, and the boy’s parents wanted a Fairy Tail Wizard’s audience for the lad’s birthday party. It sure made his day when Mura showed up and wished him a happy birthday.
    - One of the more bizarre quests came from a sailor who sailed his narrow boat over the river that cut through Magnolia Town. Said sailor had two clients, a couple, and one of them wanted to propose to the other. Mura’s job was to surround the boat in a vortex of water to add suspicion as well as making the proposal much more glamorous. With his Onmyōdō, that trick was easy to pull, and the results were sweet as sugar.
    - Mura’s neighbor, Borne, wanted a rematch in Ex-Aid Battle Royale. He lost, again.
    - His cousin back at home, Mai, had left a request at the guild herself. It was a smiley and a ‘good luck’ message, so Mura removed it from the job board… but he made sure to deliver some biscuits to her back at home.
    - A newly-opened restaurant requested a wizard’s presence as an infamous food reviewer was visiting. It was a strange idea at first, but after witnessing the reviewer throw such a strong tantrum that food was thrown in the air and at people, Mura quickly realized why he was needed to be there.
    - The staff thanked him for subduing the ridiculous reviewer and also informed him that they had a rat problem that needed to be taken care of. Since rats breed faster than insects, Mura made a thorough job on them.
    - A building company accidently leaked chemicals into the water of the river that ran across Magnolia Town. Mura made sure to separate the heavily polluted water and substitute it with clean water before the issue started to hit unaware people and animals.
    - A rare breed of mink had gotten lost. It was recognizable by its cow-like colors of black and white stigmata, and it was a close call for Mura to clean the polluted water of the river where he also found the mink swimming across with no care in the world.

Was that the last one? Oh, it was. Great!

Once he returned to the guild, Nessa was the first recognizable face that he saw. She looked a little flustered at first, but as Mura couldn’t figure out why, he just shrugged it off. It was probably just her cheerful nature showing itself, and it did increase her cuteness by a million.

His gaze was immediately switched to the blonde, shorter girl in front of him. “O-Oh, sorry if I’m interruptin-“ he excused himself as he intended to first go get something to drink and then, if needed, return here, but his eyes were locked onto the fashionable sword on the blonde girl’s hip. She was… she was definitely a swordswoman. Now that caught his attention…

“Ohh? Nessa, hi there! Also, who’s this cutie- is she a samurai?!” Kyuken, as that blue spirit ball head with a face he usually took form as, spoke to Fairy Tail’s beloved Ace.

To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro] Empty Re: To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro]

Post by Percy 22nd June 2020, 2:47 am

This was a common expression for Percy, but he looked stressed. The young man was awkwardly meandering around the guildhall, hands in his pockets as if that would make him seem more relaxed, but ultimately he was very tense in the eyes. The unmatched orbs darted back and forth along the floors and, when he thought no one was looking, he'd lightly stoop to peek under a table or around a desk. Then he'd pull out his iLac to give it a worried glance, changing directions.

Percy lightly cursed himself under his breath. If he'd just got up today and trained he wouldn't be in such a pickle. But nooo, he thought the Mouse Assassin was ready for its field test instead. One of his guild jobs had implanted the fateful idea weeks ago. A poor old woman's home was absolutely infested with mice, and no matter what she or an exterminator did, it seemed a male and female mouse always avoided the culling and replenished the home with fresh pests at a rapid pace. Ultimately he had rid the home of the critters using a device that scanned her whole home for heat signatures, but it was only a matter of time before they returned.

But...what if her house had an ever-present agent of death, a guardian, something like the lovechild of a cat and a Roomba? Something to roam the nooks and crannies, destroying mice as they appeared, something a mouse wouldn't fear so it could get close, but more effective as any creative trap stocked with peanut butter or cheese. Something like another mouse that did the bidding of man. A mouse assassin. Yes, this invention would replace the mousetrap and exterminator, saving the average person hundreds if not thousands of jewel a year.

The feverish fury of creation locked him in his room at the guild for days, marinating in his own boy funk while crafting the robotic mouse out of metal and synthetic skin and fur. The toughest part was programming the Artificial Intelligence to have it behave like a normal mouse up until it vaporized its targets into dust. AI was always finicky at best to get nailed down, but soon enough it passed all its numerous trails without fail. All that was left was to adjust the laser to the perfect strength, enough to destroy a mouse but weak enough to keep homes from catching fire or the family dog being maimed.

Before he stamped Dagger Corp's logo on it and handed it over to marketing, he felt it needed a real-world test first. It seemed harmless at the time to let it loose in the guildhall. He had programmed an app on his phone to track it and take control of it if he needed to. The guildhall would get free mouse extermination, and perhaps he'd let them keep it for free.

However, an hour into the field test, the Mouse Assassin went rogue.

Small and quick, it darted around the guildhall, scurrying under tables and up into the walls and back again. Apparently, after murdering two of its brethren, something in the AI took offense to the genocide of its own perceived species and it was plotting rebellion. So far only two guildmates had had a small hole blasted in their shoe and their toes slightly burned (they didn't know it was the mouse assassin or had anything to do with him yet), but there was a bigger concern. Percy had lost control of it even with the override. If it could reprogram itself not to kill its "own kind", to attack human feet, and to ignore the commands from the app, how long until it deactivated its tracker and strengthened the laser?

So now it was, quite literally, a game of cat and mouse. He'd have to catch it, but first, he had to find it. Much to his dismay, it seemed it was heading for Nessa, the new girl, and the Guild Master of Fairy Tail himself, but hadn't yet come out into the open. Percy swallowed hard. Nearing the small group, he tried to act normal. "H-Hello," he greeted in general, hoping that by getting near them he'd be able to see the Mouse Assassin coming and stop it before it became too embarrassing. "W-Welcome," he shyly smiled to the blonde they were all essentially mobbing.

To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro] Ag4bYpR

The girl wouldn't be left in thought for long, it would seem. She looked up when a voice called out to her, golden eyes aglow with fascination immediately darting towards whence the words of greeting had come, spotting the woman that seemed to approach swiftly. A friendly smile spread across Taylor's expression, her eyes wide with admiration. Not only did the other seem very friendly and approachable, the blonde girl couldn't help but notice how, for the lack of a more elaborate description, beautiful the other looked, left with no other choice than acknowledge that this woman carried herself with a certain grace. Was she perhaps a fairy? Was that why this guild was called Fairy Tail? No, that would be too far-fetched ... would it? Regardless, Taylor couldn't help but be inherently curious about her. She seemed like an interesting person that, undoubtedly, would have many interesting things to say. Maybe she would even answer the blonde's questions? Only one way to find out. "Woah! Hi!", she responded immediately with an eager tone, raising a hand to greet the silver-haired woman eccentrically. "Yes, I need help! Well, at least I think I do ...". Taylor paused briefly, realizing that perhaps she had been a little too energetic in her greeting. Most people didn't exactly anticipate this much direct and outspoken enthusiasm. "Ah, sorry, I'm new here in Fiore, but I've come to join a wizard guild and become a wizard myself. I've heard a lot about guilds and someone I met recommended this one to me. This is Fairy Tail, right?", she would ask the graceful stranger, who, based on the fact that she seemed to be busy here in the guildhall itself, was undoubtedly a member of this guild.

Before she could get an answer, though, another person seemed to approach rather hastily, though almost appearing to carry the intention of slipping past the two. Taylor involuntarily would turn her head to look at the person, her eyes widening in awe once more. The dark-haired man, or boy, Taylor wasn't quite sure, he did look kind of young, had some kind of symbol that stretched across his face, something the girl had never seen before. That was super unique! "Woah!", she would exclaim bluntly, taking a step towards the guy "Are you a wizard, too? You look super cool! What's your magic like?". Her curiosity had swiftly taken over, the girl immediately asking the questions that entered her mind. The people here all appeared unique in some kind of way, and Taylor, in a rather shameless and direct manner, wanted to find out more about them, her golden eyes excitedly darting between the two people and the interior of the guildhall behind her glasses.

Before the young man could hold her attention for long, though, yet another young man would join them, this one looking to be equally as intriguing, his dual-colored and contrasting hair and eye colors giving him a distinct appearance. "Hi!", she would respond to his greeting, following the welcome up with a cheerful and genuine "Thank you so much!". Her eyes would rest on his hair for a few moments, but would eventually find the young man's eyes, staring up into them with fascination, oblivious to any implications that this action might carry with it. She simply found them interesting. It was, after all, the first time she'd seen someone with eyes of two different colors. "You have really nice eyes", she would comment bluntly. It was this, though, that reminded her that she had come here for a specific purpose, which she realized with an audible "Oh!", turning back to the woman from before. "I haven't even introduced myself yet. My name is Taylor! Taylor Akerley! I'm here to become a member of Fairy Tail!". Of course, that wasn't really entirely truthful. Her name wasn't really Taylor, but that shouldn't make a difference. If she had to, well, fib a little to ensure that her parents couldn't somehow trace her to this place, that would be unfortunate, but an unfortunate necessity, nonetheless. It pained her to lie, especially given the fact that she, in her so unceremonious curiosity, hoped others would be honest and similarly direct with her. Still, that didn't stop her from following up with "What's your name, Miss? You look really cute! Are you a mage of Fairy Tail, too? This place is so lively!", curiosity, once again, taking control of her, everything that entered her mind, without any filter, being verbalized.

    Nessa Cordelia Lux

After being greeted by Nessa, the pretty blonde would return her warmth with her own, putting Nessa at a new level of ease. It was perhaps a stereotype of her position but if there was anything the Saint of Virtue responded well to, it was friendliness. Nessa's eyes widened and she beamed happily at the girls answer, clapping her hands together in excitement. A recruitment! Perfect! This was bound to take a while, and this girl seemed wonderfully amicable. She really couldn't have asked for a better excuse to avoid returning to the volatile fashion debate between Estelle and Aaron. She mentally thanked the universe for doing her a solid, before hearing a quiet albeit familiar voice pipe up.

It seemed shortly after addressing the girl that Mura had entered the guild, Nessa threw him and his spirits a smile of greeting before returning her attention to the girl. All the while clueless to the 'Mouse Assassin' that was heading their way. Instead focusing her attention back on the girl, "That sounds great! We're always excited for the prospect of new recruits!" She explained casually, almost missing the fact that Percy had suddenly joined them. "Oh hey Percy! Didn't see you there." She greeted him perkily, he was another member whom she had recruited. She liked Percy, he was always polite to her, a quality she greatly appreciated in others. It was just a shame that since his initiation that they hadn't seen each other much or had a chance to really get to know one another.

The girl would introduce herself as Taylor Akerley, reiteratied her desire to join the guild before asking the Starlight Maiden for her name. A request she would happily oblige; "Nice to meet you Taylor, I'm Nessa! And yes, I am a mage here, a guild Ace in fact. This here is Percy, and that's Mura. Mura's actually our Guild-master." She explained, taking it upon herself to introduce the others. "Why don't we take a seat? Would you like anything to dri-" She was about to offer Taylor a beverage but would stop herself mid-sentence. As she noticed a rather alien sensation, a tickling feeling on her calf. She would look down, her face falling in confusion. She turned her leg inwards to see what it was, her gaze meeting that of what appeared to be a mouse.

Now normally, Nessa found mice to be quite cute, with their button noses and cute features. And she might have even held one if offered to, but there was something about how a vermin-like creature was suddenly invading her personal space, with it's little feet creeping across her skin like an insect that took her to a very vulnerable place as a young woman. the shock of it washing away any rationale that might had been necessity to handle the situation with. And of course Nessa didn't bother to pause in order to inspect the thing, nor to realise that it was mechanical, because at this point well; she was already screaming.

The high-pitched wail of terror that escaped her lips, jumping so suddenly that alerted the creature, causing the mouse assassin to scurry further up her leg disappearing under her skirt. The girl squeaked, swatting away at her skirt whilst shrieked girlishly, "EEEEEEEEEEK, IT'S UNDER MY SKIRT, IT'S UNDER MY SKIRT! GET IT OUT!"

To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro] Empty Re: To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro]

Post by Mura Kensho 27th June 2020, 2:10 pm

It appeared that the blonde girl in front of him had just greeted Nessa with the sparkles and bright cheer of a young, aspiring adventurer entering a whole new world. Her voice and eyes full of awe told a lot about her, but now, his arrival into the guild had sort of caught her attention. Maybe Nessa was planning to take her in as a Fairy Tail Wizard, for Mura assumed by the blade on her hip that she wanted to, at the very least, offer her forces here. If she was a swordswoman, then perhaps she also used magic… maybe magic tied to that blade of hers?

Anyway, it was a genuinely happy event today. Mura had been a Wizard Saint for about two years now, and he rarely got to meet someone who was awed by his mere presence. Nessa, the Saint of Virtue, must’ve gotten so much more fame - what, with her outstanding beauty, her huge efforts in the guild’s activities, and she was also a model now? Mura had never tried modeling before, not even for a one-time quest back when he was a D-Rank Mage… wait, did the Sorceror’s Magazine count?

Well, if it didn’t before, it did now.

Therefore, meeting a person he had never met before like the swordswoman in front of him who seemed taken by surprise with one Wizard Saint after anot-

“Oh, uh, yeah, I’m a wizard. Shaman, specifically.”

Oof. Mura shouldn’t get used to being recognized, really. Maybe this was for the better; people in shelter often spared themselves from the scorching sun or something like that.

When Percy entered the gang, Mura briefly rose an eyebrow out of curiosity. Maybe Percy had worked hard today, for he seemed… distraught. Well, from reports only, Mura knew that Percy was doing solid, appreciated work in the guild despite not possessing magic himself. He just had to make sure not to overwork himself…

He rose his hand gently when Nessa introduced them to their potential recruit. Unlike others, this one actually appeared to enjoy a solid, formal conversation, and it was with conversations that the shaman learned the most about other people. He was about to find a seat, y’know, mend the ice, but a horrible incident arrived. Quite horrific, even.

    “OH NO! NESSA, WHAT’S WRONG!?!”

When Nessa’s terrified shriek reached his ears, it made his hair bristle up in the air like being electrocuted, and it also caused his hand to have almost unsheathed his katana. A burst of wind escaped his body and softly pushed out in all directions, while Mura’s contour blurred as if heat was escaping his skin. It toned down while a drop of sweat trickled down Mura’s face, clearly unaware of the cause of Nessa’s fright.

His eyes were nigh bloodshot. He didn’t remember ever hearing Nessa scream like this before. Something tragic must’ve occurred, but at first sight, he… he didn’t see it. It was only when Nessa swatted at her skirt and warned that something was under it that Mura realized that something - something living - was under her skirt and almost scaring the soul out of her body.

    ”GET IT OUT!"

    “WITH PLEASU-“

Kyuken caught on and took the unintended bait immediately, but before he even got the chance to do some debauchery to his precious Ace, Mura chopped the ghost down to the floor before helping Nessa. Since she was in a state of shock, he had to act quickly.

His hand pointed at Nessa’s lap, and with a quick flick, his hand was now pointing down to the floor under her feet. And just like that, the mechanical mouse was bent by his Onmyōdō - it was mostly metal - and it fell onto the floor while a shocked look appeared on Mura’s face.

    “…! Wait, I didn’t- wait, it’s made of steel?”

With another flick by his hand, he pulled the mouse assassin directly to the grasp of his right hand as if commanding gravitational forces. He took a closer look at it by holding its front paw and back leg, akin to a researcher curiously holding up some web, all while his forehead was slowly getting a burn from its laser.

To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro] Empty Re: To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro]

Post by Percy 30th June 2020, 2:29 am

The youngest Dagger son hadn't been expecting to receive compliments, so as the new girl gave him one about his eyes and stared into them so intently, his cheeks slowly started to warm into a light pink. "Uh...t-thank you. You, too," he stammered, unable to maintain eye contact for long. As his eyes darted shyly to the left, his hands jammed deeper into his pockets as if that'd make him look less awkward in front of the Starlight Maiden and his guild master. It didn't work. Nessa acknowledged him as well, to which he bobbed his head and offered a small friendly smile, still a little bashful around the accomplished mage. Surely two brothers could not be more different. He was like Artemis's antithesis.

It was only when Nessa did the proper introductions that he brought his eyes back up to the group, using it as a way to nod a greeting to Mura as well as Taylor. Being so close to the two mages he'd read about in Sorcerer's Magazine had momentarily distracted him from his actual purpose. He was supposed to be watching for the Mouse Assassin to prevent the very thing that was just about to happen.

Nessa's shriek jerked his attention to her, following her gaze down to her leg. Oh god. There it was. It was on her. His skin turned as white as the right side of his hair. THe mOUse aSSaSsiN was oN NesSa! Percy's brilliant brain promptly short-circuited, as if he couldn't possibly process that the very worst-case scenario was unfolding right before his eyes. Not only was his failed, rogue invention on Nessa Cordelia Lux, but it was right in front of Mura Kensho and newcomer Taylor Ackerly. A pathetic wheeze fluttered from lips and wide, terrified eyes locked on Nessa's leg, slowly rising to her skirt. Nessa was screaming. Percy was screaming internally. The mouse was under her skirt now oh god oh sh--

He couldn't very well lunge for it now, now could he? It was under her skirt! It was too late! What could he do?

Poor Percy. As things devolved in the worst way, the poor young man was once again lit on fire. The last time he felt this hot was when his grandfather disliked his invention and caused it to backfire in his face, gifting him with the lovely scar he still sported today. He froze in place, eyes wide, face breaking into a light sweat, skin gradually turning bright red from his forehead all the way to his feet. If someone could phase out of existence by sheer force of will, Percy would surely be the first to do so.

Mura saved the day, magicking the Mouse Assassin to "death". Though its metallic limbs twisted under the fake fur like a creature in the throes of death, the sparks shooting from the joins were clearly inorganic, as was the tinny whirring coming from within as the parts that made it work met resistance against bent parts. Mura brought it into his grasp, giving it a good look. It was only then that Percy sucked in a loud breath, just realizing he was holding his breath and about to suffocate himself. "G-Guild M-M-Master!" he exclaimed, taking a step forward and bowing awkwardly. Would this get him kicked out? "I-It's mine, I'm ssssorry, it's, ah, uh, an in-invention gone wrong, sir. N-Nessa, so sorry!" he stuttered like skin skidding on a dry slide, trying to ignore the prickling of panicked tears in his right eye. Though he stayed bowed, unable to raise his eyes to anyone in the group, his trembling hands raised as if asking for his broken toy back. He had full intentions of destroying it himself as soon as he was out of sight...presuming he didn't die of embarrassment or a heart attack before then.

To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro] Ag4bYpR

The white-haired girl across from her was swift to respond to her questions, affirming that this was indeed the guild that Taylor had been looking for: Fairy Tail, an association of mages of all caliber that got together to work towards a common goal. Further still, the woman would greet the boy with the pretty eyes as "Percy", Taylor would be sure to keep that in mind, before introducing herself as Nessa, with the addendum of mentioning that she was a "Guild Ace", before pointing over at the boy ... or man? Taylor was still not sure. Anyway, she pointed over at the boy and introduced him as "Mura", who also seemed to be something called the "Guild Master". Taylor's eyes lit up with curiosity and fascination as her eyes darted from the white-haired girl to the child guild master, deducing, from their titles, that these two held high positions in the guild.

Well, Mura was the guild master, as Nessa had said, which meant that he had to be the leader of this Fairy Tail guild, and perhaps even the strongest mage in the guild, too. It wouldn't surprise her. Taylor, on the other hand, wasn't quite so sure what a guild ace was, but figured that this would be some kind of position in the guild, as well. Nessa had to be a powerful mage, too. There were a thousand questions racing through her mind, all of which she wanted to vocalize, ask, and get an answer to, but she didn't want to overwhelm both herself and the guild mages of Fairy Tail. Instead, her expression shifted to one of overt fascination as she grinned at Mura and Nessa, excitedly asking "So you two are the strongest mages in Fairy Tail?" before exclaiming with similar excitement "That's so cool!". There was more she meant to ask, though Nessa seemed swift to offer her a seat, and Taylor was inclined to take it, though there was something that interrupted the guild ace, the white-haired girl suddenly screaming out in what sounded like complete horror.

Standing somewhat off to the side, Taylor, with wide eyes and mouth agape in surprise, would witness the sudden burst of magic power from not just the guild master, but also the wild shrieking and swatting at her own shirt from Nessa, observing with deep interest before turning to Percy, all while the boy who seemed to be the guild master would catch, from beneath the girl's skirt, what appeared like a mouse, though Taylor didn't fail to notice the fact that it seemed to spark. "Is Fairy Tail always as crazy as this? This is so amazing! I bet I can learn a lot here", she chirped happily, pointing a finger at the mouse "Is this some kind of toy?". Not long at all after she'd asked this question as well, though, Percy would begin to explain, making light of the fact that this was, in fact, not a toy, but rather, an invention, prompting a small "Ohhhhh!" from the blonde girl. "Are you a scientist? That's really interesting! What did you make this for?".

Taylor took a deep breath, a smile curling up her lips. Yeah, this seemed like a good place, a nice place, a friendly place, and furthermore, perhaps most importantly, an interesting and exciting place. Something that would keep her on her toes, something that would motivate her, drive her forward and, maybe, in the end, something she could call a home. She giggled, looking back to Nessa. "Are you okay, Nessa? That was really surprising, wasn't it? Are you guys this lively all the time? If that's the case, then I definitely wanna join!", the girl would ask before once more affirming her intentions.

I have died everyday waiting for you, Darling don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more
    Nessa Cordelia Lux

Nessa had faced off with many foes in her time, since joining Fairy Tail she had dealt with bandits, zombies, demons, and other various monsters. And for the most part, she had bested them all, and during those fights, her combat instincts had never failed her. And yet, at this moment, when facing against this mouse-like creature that was invading the sacred privacy that was the underside of her skirt. All of her instincts suddenly were failing her. So much so that all she seemed capable of doing in this outrageous moment, would hop from foot to foot and swat away at her hemline in a useless fashion.

In the chaos, it actually took Nessa a moment to realise that Mura had already dealt with the furry invader before she calmed down. Staring at the mouse thing that was now situated in Mura's grasp, she would brush down her skirt before leaning in for a closer look. Baffled by Mura's assessment, "Wait, what? Steel?" She said examining the lump, she glanced over at Taylor who spoke, remembering that they were supposed to be initiated the newest visitor to Fairy Tail. She offered the girl a weak laugh in response, "Haha, sometimes." She remarked, just as Percy would begin his apology. Drawing her attention to the younger male, she would stare at him, her expression softening at his apology. "Ah, I see, it's okay. I'm fine, no need to for the apology, these things happen." She told him, albeit she was still somewhat visibly flustered.

She cleared her throat, examining herself, she seemed okay right? All was okay. Everything was okay. Despite her slightly embarrassing screaming session, no harm, no foul. As Taylor addressed her once more, she tried her best to appear as normal as she had before the 'interruption'. "Yes, I'm fine, really. And it was," She said with a laugh, "It can be, and I'm glad to hear that. Should we all grab a seat and maybe a drink. We can talk about getting you initiated and maybe Percy can tell us all about his invention!" She said perkily, looking for a nearby table to sit them at.

    o.O

In all honesty, the whole event and its level of risk, danger and seriousness died down as quickly as Nessa started screaming… at least for the young-looking Guildmaster. The way its joints sparked and flickered flying dots of light and heat said it all; it was some kind of mechanical construction. And who else in the vicinity would be able to engineer such an automaton other than Percy who was with them here? Given by his facial expressions revealing worry, fear and shock, it was definitely his invention.

“Mhm, steel,” Mura responded, “It looks so real, though… but it’s not living. Damn…”

Spinning the mouse around would give him the time he needed to hear Percy’s explanation. An invention gone wrong, eh… well, gladly it didn’t cause further damage other than a scare and the burn mark on Mura’s forehead.

“Phew… guess everything’s fine, now,” Mura expressed in relief, still turning over the mouse for further inspection. It was kind of cute up close, like a small pet robot… did… did Percy just engineer his own pet?

Taylor’s question reached Mura too, and he turned his face towards her to inform her.

"So you two are the strongest mages in Fairy Tail?"
“I am definitely up there… I don’t think anyone in the guild is stronger than Nessa, though.”

That was that question. Short and honest, he genuinely believed that Nessa outranked everyone in the guild - not only by magical prowess, but also by heart, vigor, spirit. And he’s watched her grow from the bottom so long ago… it felt nice to think back to those days. Was this how an old man felt all the time?

A while ago, all the classic craziness was almost inexistent for a short period in Fairy Tail. It was, in the end, a part of their identity - whether they liked it or not, something was just so lax and untamed in this guild that brought upon these scenarios and made them a daily basis. It was magic, really.

It only seemed to draw Taylor in more and more to join this guild. She was beaming with energy, excited to become part of their ranks and warm family. At this point, just from seeing her reactions to this whole event, Mura felt that she would really bring much more to the atmosphere around here. She had a kind of radiance emitting from her face that reminded him of Nessa, and she appeared to be the curious type of girl too. All such positive traits were welcome here, but protocol had to be followed.

After such a scare, Nessa sure needed to calm down and relax again. Since they now needed a place to sit at, Mura whistled towards the bartender and held four fingers up in the air - four drinks their way. After that, he suddenly sat in a cross-legged position on a log of wood that rose up from the ground and led him towards a free table, still holding the mechanical robot that Percy built.

“By all means, take a seat,” he invited the others, his hands busy scrapping and poking the robot, “I’ll just… uh, check this automaton out. If it’s still working… s-sorry about that, Percy, hehe.”

Post by Percy 27th July 2020, 2:22 am

Uugghhhnnn he didn't hand over the mouse, so Percy looked even more like an idiot staying bowed for that long, hands waiting expectantly for what wouldn't come. Having no choice but to return to standing straight, a very defeated, emotionally frayed Percy followed after his Guild Master and Ace. He wanted nothing more than to snatch the mouse and skitter into his own hole to hide, but he couldn't. Well, he could have abandoned his creation entirely and made for the door, but in both genius and stupidity, he'd equipped the mouse with an auto-repair feature. If Mura's attack hadn't truly damaged something irreparable, in a few hours it'd be moving around again. He really needed it back.

Though Nessa and Mura may have forgiven him, Percy hadn't forgiven himself. "Y-Yeah, I'm a scientist," he answered Taylor, who was as perky as he was devastated, quietly while they made their way to the table and chairs. Once seated, he did just as the others had said. He's explain what the thing was and get it over with so this poor new girl could get initiated properly without him mucking it up further. "It's called the.. M-Mouse Assassin..." Percy informed them, though his voice became rather small upon the approach of the name. Now that he said it aloud, it sounded positively idiotic. After clearing his through and tugging a little at his collar, the young man, whose eyes were fixed firmly on the tabletop, continued quickly. "After a pest control job for an elderly lady in town, I had the idea for a robot that looked and acted like a mouse so it could get in the walls and all the small places mice hide. It was supposed to kill the mice and then remain wandering like one of those robot vacuums, warding off new pests and eliminating the need for costly repeat exterminations...but...the AI clearly went rogue..."

Thankfully, after his speedy explanation, the drinks arrived and he focused on that. He took a long few sips before placing it back down, sighing. "You might want to destroy it soon," Percy told Mura, sneaking a peek at the sparking "creature" before becoming intensely interested in the liquid in his cup. "It's equipped to self-repair, so...don't be sorry. One way or another, it's getting destroyed."

To Hopes and Dreams! [Taylor's Intro] Ag4bYpR

The girl was excited to hear that this seemed to be a routine day at the Fairy Tail mages guild. If every day was as lively as this, she was certain that she'd picked the right guild to join, at the least, an understanding, awe-struck "Ohhhh!" escaping her in response to the white-haired woman's explanation. As someone who didn't really have a lot of friends growing up, apart from the other nobles she would occasionally meet at galas and balls as well as the entourage of different servants that, while supportive, weren't really something that could reasonably be called peers, the young girl from Bellum was excited at the prospect of perhaps calling these people not only guildmates, but also friends.

"Ah! I see! That's impressive!", Taylor would listen to Mura's response before answering in a genuine grin, beaming at him with a wide, curious smile before turning to Nessa. It was hard to believe that she would, on her first day, immediately find herself in the presence of powerful wizards right off the bat, but here she was, talking to them. Well, judging from the way the man had taken out the mouse thingy, Taylor had no reason to believe he wasn't speaking the truth. Not only that, but Percy would confirm that he was, in fact, a real scientist, the girl smiling excitedly once more, her eyes lighting up as the confirmation to her question grabbed her attention. "Woooaaahh. A real scientist! And you built a robot that ... assassinates mice? That's awesome!". Something like that was really innovative, she thought, as much as it was very specific and undoubtedly eccentric, that was. Naturally, eccentricity had never been a thing that had bothered the girl, though.

Excited about getting her stamp and becoming an official part of the guild, the girl would sit down, though paying little mind to the drink that would be delivered to her. She didn't know if it was alcoholic, but she didn't want to risk it. THere was little she disliked as much as the taste of alcohol, so the gesture, while nice, wouldn't be acknowledged. "Right!", the girl would reply to Nessa without delay, though, following it up with "I'm ready to be initiated if you are! Are there any specifics you need?".

Nessa flushed slightly at the remarks about strength, it was strong, hypothetically she knew that she was considered a strong mage. Perhaps even one of the strongest in Fiore, but to acknowledge it, to consider it the truth was... bizarre. To hear it from the girl and have it reaffirmed by Mura, she didn't really know how to react. It didn't matter though, because the invasion of her skirt by Percy's robotic mouse had certainly derailed the conversation away from that topic.

Now that she was calmer, she would join the table that they had all seated themselves out. Brushing down her skirt consciously, her gaze turning to Percy. He would begin to talk about his invention, which was highly impressive to the Starlight Maiden. She was kind of tech-savvy in the sense that she was good with household items and standard issues, the kind of problems her Grandmother might have needed help with. But never in her life could she ever imagine herself inventing something as high tech and complicated as a functioning mobile mouse.

Listening to his concept, Nessa nodded eagerly, her awe growing with each moment. Percy really was an impressive individual, to be some talented and capable in a selected field. Nessa could only imagine how much knowledge he had about science and technology. As Taylor gushed over Percy's explanation, Nessa would eagerly nod along beside her. "That's really is amazing, to build a functioning robot mouse-like honestly I had no idea it wasn't real. Not to mention it's self-repairing? That's so cool!" She spouted excitedly, her words entirely genuine and full of amazement.

Taylor would grab her attention, keen to get initiated in the guild. Her enthusiasm made Nessa smile, it was so refreshing to see such a nice person so keen to get started. "So initiation itself is pretty standard, first of all, you have to understand that under no circumstance are guild members permitted to cause harm to one another or to cause damage to the guild. The prior is only an exception for like duels of course, but otherwise, it's just not something we stand for. We also have a standard that we expect our members to adhere to, your actions from here on out will reflect the guild so you will need to bear that in mind going forward, like try not to do anything detrimental to our reputation." She explained, "If you can confirm that you understand and promise to adhere to our guild rules then, that's we can get you stamped!" She chirped cheerily, opening her palm, she created an orb of starlight. The light would float away, moving behind the bar. After a moment it would return with the magical stamper required to initiate new members.

The stamp would be lowered into her palm and she would turn to Taylor, granted that she confirmed her ability to follow the guild's rules she would allow her magic to seep into the stamp. "So where is this going?" And should Taylor indicate a place for the stamp, Nessa would lower the stamp and place onto the girl the mark of the guild.

… D-Did Mura do something wrong? Percy sounded to feel very uncomfortable with the mouse in the shaman’s hands, apparently harmless and unmoving with its loose limbs. According to the scientist, it was constructed to sort of save money for constant repair at houses containing pest and invasive creatures like mice, but at one point, its AI went rogue. That led to the request of having it destroyed, to which Mura nodded. Percy knew what he had constructed and was more adept in knowledge of that robot than Mura was, so his beseech was serious.

The mouse robot’s limbs suddenly pulled themselves into its body as if gravity around the mouse crushed it, pushing its body and clamping it into an even smaller surface area than before. The cracking sounds of breaking metal was swift as all that was left was a small orb of destroyed scraps in Mura’s hand, about the size of those small glass orbs kids played with. Maybe some of its components could’ve been reused… but alas, Percy made his request clear.

Truly, Taylor was beaming with energy. It was quite refreshing to see, honestly, and her dominantly positive look on things reminded him of Kumiko-chan, albeit her voice and posture - as well as age, apparently - rendered Taylor much more mature… seriously, kitsunes were SO likely to be at least a hundred years old…

Something else that drew his attention was her sword. She had it strapped onto her hip, a classic broadsword design, its length rendering it to be used as both a one-handed and two-handed sword. How she used it would likely be far more different than how Mura’s own sword style expressed itself in combat, which only begged him to ask for a round or two… or was that Kyuken’s interests leaking into him after years of mending souls together?

Hmh… he should wait to ask until after she had gotten her stamp. Then again, it didn’t have to be today… but busy times were ahead of the guild, and no one could read the future ahead of themselves.

Now that the mousy contraption was officially dead by the mighty guild master's hand, Percy could relax, if only just a little. All the attention being on him in this rather embarrassing snafu had his insides tied in knots, but the least he could do was hang around a polite amount of time before slinking off to calm down in his room. Taylor's compliments brought a little color back into his pale face, and Nessa's did even more so. A compliment from a Wizard Saint, a mage so strong he could barely fathom it... his fanboy tendencies could hardly endure it. He'd just offer a weak smile and nod to them, lowering his eyes to the table where they would stay as the attention rightfully shifted back to the girl hoping to join this lively place.

Once it came down to stamping time, Percy did raise his eyes again in preparation for welcoming Taylor properly, from member to member this time. He'd been so happy the day he'd gotten his stamp. And while he was no closer to cracking his magic dilemma, he'd made a few friends and witnessed a lot of interesting things. He was always up for making another friend, and he was certainly plenty curious about the sword on her hip and just what she was capable of. Like the scientist he was, his mind was always thinking, analyzing, and compiling as much information as possible.
