Name: Thagirion
Race: Abyssal (Qliphah)
Gender: Male
Age: Undetermined (19 years physically)
Birthday: Undetermined
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics:
- Thagirion has Indigo colored irises, with pupils that appear like those of the ordinary human being in most cases, but take on a slitted appearance similar to that of a cat or a snake when he is angered. This is also a tell he has that allows others to figure out when his mood is swinging from controlled and cool towards angry and not quite so cool.
- Possessing slightly elongated canines, some of the people which he actually has to deal with have come to believe he might well be some kind of vampire or demon. Mixed with the fact that his eyes, or rather his pupils match his temper, he needs to be careful around regular humans when brandishing his less human traits.
- In spite of the fact that while the body he possesses is that of a fae, Thagirion being a primordial entity of darkness caused his blood to turn black. Though appearing quite human from the outside, causing him to bleed and leak the oily black liquid is often enough for people to realize they are not dealing with a human being.
- Compared to the average human, his ears are somewhat more pointy, though they do not really stand out as much as the ears of the average elf. They are what one might expect from someone who has an elven father and a human mother.
Personality: Before his imprisonment, Thagirion was a powerful Abyssal entity that commanded many more of his kind in skirmishes between the beings of light and the beings of darkness. When the Abyssals eventually lost and got sealed inside of a massive tree locked away in a different dimension called the Qliphoth, Thagirion survived by cannibalizing his own kin, proving that his drive to survive is stronger than his sense of dependibility. Especially among those that were born from the primordial darkness that was around before the creation of the universe, he knew that it was either eat or be eaten. All of these things prove that he is not afraid of making tough decisions for the sake of survival, believing it better to live and fight another day rather than continuing to fight a losing battle. After forcefully devouring his brethren, the hibernation he slipped into kept him sane for the millions of years he would otherwise have spent awake in imprisonment, he is tested once again.
Now that he is no longer locked up and has a physical body, he is getting used to the laws of this dimension by being cautious both in and outside of battle. Not being quick to get pulled into a fight, he spends most of his time analyzing the material world, as well as the way in which this dimension limits the otherwise spectacularly ways in which he could use his powers to obliterate entire armies. Gradually learning the boundaries posed upon him by a body of flesh, the limitations of magic, him not wanting to get into any kerfuffles with other mages is something he considers to be a wise decision on his part. Through it all, whether it is during a fight or out, he maintains a rather stoic expression at almost all times, making it incredibly hard to read into what he is thinking or what he is experiencing emotionally. When continuously mocked, degraded and taunted to the point where he might become angered, his stoic expression can make way for a fiendish grin that exposes his sharp canines and slitted pupils.
Though not what one might expect from someone who is in fact angered, it can act as a deterrent that displays the kind of deep seated histeria belonging to something that has faced being locked away for millennia and having cannibalized on the vast majority of his species. Though he is not the kind to form bonds, not even with his own brethren, there are still some psychological scars inside of his mind as a result of his mental anguish and suffering. When there are no ways around it however, he will try to size up his opponent by making himself look weaker than he actually is as a means of lulling someone into a false state of supremacy, making people overeager or even reckless. While being quite honorable and proud in his own way, he wouldn't aim to make someone suffer before killing them, unless he would be convinced of the fact that they truly deserved otherwise. Whether the honor in battle and the fact that he would refrain from making people suffer was something he always had or received as a characteristic when he took on this body is not something he is aware of, nor cares for.
Because the body in which he materialized is the one that once belonged to Solmar Starshade, a former Wizard Saint, there are a few people that seem to recognize what he once was. Because his personality is slightly different while his magical signature is vastly different from that of Solmar, he tends to simply claim that they were brothers as a means of getting out of it. While uncharacteristic of an abyssal being, he rather enjoys being around people, yet at the same times likes being away from them too, creating a constant duality. This is however not the only kind of duality that exists within him, as there are various existential questions eating away at him as well, such as how much of him is truly his and how much came from the original owner of the body. Millions of years of hibernation could be the cause of his sometimes faulty emotions and memories, though the outside world would never know a thing about this due to his expression which seems utterly devoid of emotion altogether.
Likes:
- Meat is one of the first things Thagirion stumbled upon in this new dimension that he truly loves. Because of his inhuman metabolism, he can eat as much as he wants without it posing any negative repercussions on him. Because his species only had to eat in order to retain their power, which was why he cannibalized on his own kind while locked away in his eternal cell, the concept of eating for fun is entirely new to him. Not caring whether he eats it raw, cooked, baked, fried or otherwise in general, he did get used to some kind of luxury while in the cities. Relishing the inventiveness of humans when it comes to preparing carcasses for consumption, he chooses restaurant prepped meat over all others when in the presence of other people. When he is on his own however, he does not mind having to eat fresh, uncooked meat straight from the source either.
- Humans are the kind of creature found most in this world, and since he believes himself to be superior to the flawed beings, he has come to find them quite interesting. While some are bent on domination, others are set on protecting either the people, society or nature itself, while yet others just want to fight or destroy for the hell of it. Finding them to be quite interesting as a species since they did not seem to have been born with a singular purpose like he was, Thagirion unknowingly learns from them to in regards to how to spend his time on this new plain of existence.
- As a being not from this world, or this dimension, Thagirion likes places where he can Isolate himself from the world and be with his thoughts. Often needing such places as a means of organizing his thoughts, feelings and emotions so as to not run the risk of getting violently unstable, it is both something he needs and something he truly enjoys. Likely being the only being of his kind that remains in existence, simply being isolated and alone to reflect on that often makes him feel better as it means that his mortal enemies likely do not exist in this world either. This in turn means that he won't need to go to war again, leaving him free to do as he pleases.
- Magic is something that is interwoven with nature and life as ethernano can be found in just about anything. Due to his gift of magic that allows him to study, understand and even take other forms of magic for himself and adjust it to fit his needs, it has become something he enjoys working with. Spending what free time he has just studying magic and working out new spells, he can't get enough of seeing new forms of magic and their spells in hopes of figuring out how they function and getting to make use of them himself. Because his is a magic with potentially limitless growth, he can keep tinkering and playing around with it for many years or even lifetimes to come. Getting hyped over magic is one of the few things that can actually break his stoic expression, good food being the other.
Dislikes:
- To Thagirion, there are few things he dislikes as much as prison due to the immense Lack of Freedom imposed upon someone. Having spent far longer in prison than most people have actually spent outside of one in an entire lifetime, he firmly believes that it is better to kill someone than to send them to jail for the rest of their life. While he does enjoy isolation quite a bit, he does not enjoy forced isolation, and will do just about anything within his power to keep him from getting locked away and having his freedom stripped from him again. Even if it means having to resort to taking lives or putting people into a difficult spot, all means are justified from where he’s standing.
- Authority is, for obvious reasons, something he does not enjoy a whole lot. While he is not against the idea of one thing governing over the other to see to it that all things remain under control, he does not enjoy the thought of that applying to him as well. Believing the law applies to people, or humans to be more precise, the fact that he is not human should mean that they would not affect him. But because of the fact that he looks and acts human for the most part, they are still being enforced whenever he does something most people might not believe to be appropriate. So while he does his best to follow up with the rules and regulations, at least in places where he can be seen by others, he does not truly feel that they should apply to him and therefore does not really like it.
- Though it really isn’t that much of an issue for him most of the time, something he does dislike a bit are those few humans that are currently Stronger than he is. Realizing that they have had more time to cultivate their magic and have been condemned to spend life in a mortal shell for as long as they have been alive, he is content with knowing that he too will get there in time. Still, it does bother him a bit when stronger humans pop up and start running the show, preferring to have the stage to himself instead of having to share it with lesser beings.
Motivations:
- Figuring out the current Limitations of his magical powers and those of the human body are among the things that feel like a must. Since the body he inhabits is a rather powerful one as it belonged to a former saint, it has not been all that hard for him to release large portions of his power, though it is still quite easy for him to hurt himself in the process as flesh and bone are by no means superior to the kind of astronomically powerful body he was originally born with as an abyssal. So to say that it is somewhat of a motivation for him to figure out what his own limitations are, as well as finding the means towards pushing those limitations and becoming more powerful in the process, would be an understatement.
- Food is not much of a driving motivator for Thagirion as it isn’t something he needs in order to survive, only needing sustenance every couple of weeks to keep his body from collapsing and to make sure his magical reserves replenish themselves. What does motivate him is the fact that food here tastes far better than what he was used to, or at least the portions of it he can remember from before his incarceration. With meat being his most desired type of food and knowing now that every district in the world gives their own spin to their dishes, he wants to try everything there is in the world at least once. And given his immortality, he has plenty of time in which to do it.
- To better understand Humanity is very important to Thagirion, mostly because he sometimes experiences some human emotions due to his form, yet has no real idea as to how to handle it. Because of his usually callous and unemotional state, other people have called him out for behaving entirely in self-interest, pride, egotism, acting out of grandiosity, impulsivity or simply a lack of empathy while possessing what can only be explained as true remorselessness. As a means of fitting in better with the fleshbags around him, understanding them and their reasoning behind it would help him a great deal.
Fears:
- Being Sealed away again is the one thing Thagirion truly fears, towering far above anything else he might be afraid of, which isn’t a very long list due to his immortality. As an immortal being, to be sealed away is the only thing that could truly hurt him, something he has experienced first hand after being locked away for millennia. When facing this reality again, there is a phenomenal chance at him either lashing out incredibly violently or choosing to abandon the situation entirely. As it is truly the last thing he would ever want to have to deal with again, this truly brings out a state in him that can be compared to the metaphorical “cornered animal”.
- Something he controls quite well as it is but a minor fear that hardly ever surfaces, if at all, is the idea that this is as strong as he is going to get, and that there will always be some people around that he will be Inferior to. To a being such as himself, this is both unacceptable and hard to come to terms with, which is why he usually just buries this away as deep as he possibly can. Being one of those human things that he really only had ever since he was placed inside of one that was prepared particularly for him, ignoring it isn’t that hard for him, saving it for those moments he spends in total isolation before pondering on it.
- Another fear that rarely manifests itself is the idea that the body that contains Thagirion might not be strong enough to do so forever, and that maybe it will at some point either Wither away or Explode. It is for this same reason that he does his best to find the limitations of the human body and his powerful magic, or rather, it is yet another reason that drives him towards doing so.
General Appearance
Height: 182.88 cm ("6 feet 0 inches")
Weight: 82kg ("180.7 pounds")
Hair: Black
Eyes: Indigo
Skin Tone: Light-tan
Appearance:
Though a lot of things have changed about him in the past months, one thing that hasn't changed is his facial structure, still possessing the same strong jaw line and stoic expression as before. While his hair has grown quite a bit more shaggy, he parted the long locks falling over his eyes to the right so as to see better, and appear more stylish as that kind of thing seemed important to people. What with his pointier ears and slightly elongated canines, as well as his different hairstyle and less pale complexion, there are those who might not recognize him anymore. As his physique has not gone through a whole lot of changes as his muscles are still very much present due to the constant traveling, wrangling beasts and fighting with his swords, it might be one of the things along with his statute that could make him more recognizable.
Now that his material body has been destroyed and reconstituted for Thagirion, only bits of pieces of Solmar remain, aside from still looking exactly the same as he always did. The only notable changes are the fact that his former golden-yellow irises have turned to a bright indigo. All in all, Solmar had always been one to stand out due to the fact that he did not want to stand out and did not feel like dressing up in fancy suits, instead choosing what was practical in his self-proclaimed tasks. Needless to say, not much changed in those regards. In terms of wardrobe, he wears black slacks with leather boots, a studded leather jerky with short sleeves and a black coat with a collar made out of thick white fur. Though it does not really make him seem like a wealthy person or even a person with any kind of standing, it is an attire he has come to enjoy quite a bit. Having all of the things he needs on his being at all times, traveling from place to place is made that much easier.
