Something Wicked This Way Comes... Part 2

Temperance had spent the day scouting out the city of Era. While a stuffy, law-abiding place, there were still areas that facilitated a 'dark mage'. Even under the guise as a somewhat nerdy, glasses-wearing reporter, Temperance had to consider where she could conjure the door to the Black Cat lounge. Agil would never allow the door to his bar open in ERA of all places, but he kept tabs on Selina via her Ilac phone and would summon the door at the right time.

For now, she was laying low in the ally-- and conjured the door. She had gone inside to talk to him, and to tell him her plan on what her next big score was.

"Are you insane?!" The dark skinned, tall and brutish man said from behind his bar. Despite his intimidating, and half-demon origin, he was a man of refined culture. But even now, it was cracking due to the situation. "Girl, I know you are into doing some crazy stunts, but this is going a bit too far. Bad enough you wanna do a job in ERA, but going after the Dragon's Eye jewel owned one of the magic council members is crazy!"

Temperance, in her normal attire as a black witch with her robes and boots, drank the mixed drink he made. Still, she listened as Agil ranted how this job was suicide. She sighed as he went on.

"I know you are trying to make a point. Even among criminals, that guy is scum and a hypocrite. Still, its too dangerous! Not to mention there are knights everywhere! If you just want to make a statement you might as well just graffiti something somewhere. " Agil said grumpily.

She finished her drink, while Hex sat on the stool next to her as she licked her paws and groomed her ears from under her witch's hat. With a serious look in her eye, she looked to the bartender. "Agil, I am aware of what I am doing and I do have a plan. You are right that doing something half-cocked will get me arrested or killed. I'm crazy witch, but not an idiot." she said with obvious teasing in her tone.

"You're not exactly helping your argument," Agil replied dryly.

"Don't get your martini olives in a twist, Agil. The whole point of going out into the city is to explore and case the place. We won't be doing a thing till we can find the best avenue. And luckily for us, we came up with a plan. Its not easy, but we are gonna smoke the mice out, cheese and all. "

Temperance rolled her eyes at her feline friend's analogy. "I'll explain it to you later, Agil. For now we need to set the bait. I'll explain it to you soon enough. " she said and soon shifted off the stool to go.

With a turn over her shoulder, she winked to the bartender. "Keep an eye out on the news. I'm sure youll know it when you see it."

Before Agil could argue, Temperance had left the bar with her cat friend close to her heels. As she left the doorway to the bar, the moment she closed the door in the alleyway-- it vanished instantly. In that same time, a shimmer of light appeared around her, transforming her back into her nerdy clothing, glasses and camera around her neck. She now also held a carry bag over her shoulder, like a purse.

"Mreow!" Hex meowed as she hopped up and into the bag, to be carried by her partner. With her secret hideaway secure, in disguise and with Hex hidden in her bag-- Selina ventured out into the streets of Era once more with the intent to start some mayhem...

Post by Gawdwyn 16th August 2020, 5:27 pm

Gawdwyn hasn't had an important job in a while and he felt really bored and hasn't had anything really important to do. He realized and through to himself that this was going to be another one of those boring peaceful days. Gawdwyn decided to go to a regular bar and hoped to pass the time and see if anything interesting would happen along the way. The Bar he went to was a bit more of a, something that was for a hangout for thugs and criminals. Here is the thing, Gawdwyn purposefully went there knowing someone would do something stupid to get them into trouble. Being in this bar, he started to reminisce what happened back at the last time he was in a bar. How he brutally humiliated the two people. First, if he remembers correctly, a drunk who was disturbing and harassing women sexually caused far to much trouble and provoked him by slapping Gawdwyn in the face. As a result of the drunken man's hubris and arrogance, he was grabbed and had his head buried to the ground. Then, his brother( who knew) would get angry because of the arrest of the drunken bastard who assaulted him, would actually challenge Gawdwyn, and punched him in the face, full force, in public. And a piece of his face was torn off from Gawdwyn's impressive grip strength. What really interesting that happened was a woman that he meat that day. Ever since then, he sometimes thinks about her and sometimes in random moments. "I wonder what she is doing right now"

In the bar, he drank heavy wine that he thought was good. And it was. Drinking is one of the few things that he enjoys. However, he can't enjoy the moment right now because of the tense atmosphere in the bar. He minded his own business ninety percent of the time and does so because in most cases they are not his business. He will only interfere unless because of work or because it is fun for him. Other than that, he wouldn't do anything even if someone is being annoying; like every other bastard giving him dirty looks. After drinking a full glass, he and many others heard a loud sound from the entrance of the bar. A group of men came inside and each of them looked like a group of thugs came.

"Hmm" The people that came through the door looked like they were up to no good. They look like bandits and a few look like killers. One stood out and looked like a big sumo wrestler but with more clothes on. As he saw the group coming in closer, from the point of the entrance, he saw that more people kept on coming in. It seemed like they were all together. One came to Gawdwyn and stood in front of him only a few feet apart.

"So you're Gawdwyn?" The man was dressed like a boss criminal or something. HE definitely had the charisma to lead. Defiantly, he had some class to lead a bunch of savage idiots.

Something Wicked This Way Comes... (Part 2) Empty Re: Something Wicked This Way Comes... (Part 2)

Post by Temperance 20th August 2020, 9:13 am

Leaving the safety of the alleyways made her now onto the main street of Era. She felt a bit naked out there, like Agil suggested. A dark mage among this major government capital was not an easy thing to do. Of course, if she was dressed in her usual attire, she would have been pegged a Dark Mage by a blind man. Luckily, her casual nerdy attire always helped her blend in a bit more to the average setting of things.

Much like before, Era was bright and cheerful. Hardly any crime or real threats that made people feel less likely to not be cheerful. She could understand why the knights here made things feel safer for everyday folk. In the end, she was not trying to bring that sense of security down. But those who hid behind such things and still got away with corrupt deeds was something she hated with a passion. So it was why she was going to steal a treasure from such a man.

One of the major dukes who funded Era and the Knights had a priceless gem on display in the major memorial castle-- which was now a museum for visitors to look at statues, valuable art, and precious treasures from history. The Dragon's Eye Jewel-- a fabled jewel said to have been the property of a dragon at some point. While she was never a die-hard Dragon fan as most, she had desired to steal such a beautiful gem from such a dirtbag. And that was her next target. But first thing first-- she had to case the place and find out more.

The castle was a glistening white and beautiful gothic architecture. While not as big as Era's castle or the one in Crocus, it was a big enough place to facilitate a renowned museum. She grinned at this, loving the art of museum, but the allure also of a phantom thief robbing a museum. However, her first visit was as a guest.

She had paid to get in, which she didn't mind, and also had her bag checked--luckily it was a 'bag of holding' that allowed deeper storage-- so the guard who checked it only found clothing and some personal items. Not the Black Exceed cat has hidden inside. With that, the two had a pleasant stroll in the museum.

Temperance didn't bother to use her camera. Too suspicious to take photos if she was going to come back later. However, it was easy to take details by memory. She was able to spot the priceless artifacts-- air ducts, security points, and more importantly, the target. She soon saw the brilliant rainbow-colored gemstone that radiated like a small star. Many people took a gander at it, but Temperance was interested more in the case. It was secured both physically and magically. What pissed her off was the byline at the bottom of the plack. It was donated to the museum under ownership by the duke. It was all she had to see.

Her trip in the museum was only an hour and in that time, she got a good feel for it-- as did Hex, who had occasionally stuck her head out to gander at the art, air ducts-- and some of the more amusing things. "What is the point of 'dogs playing poker'?" The cat meowed as they left the museum. "Can't we find some classy cat paintings for a change?"

Temperance chuckled a bit as she understood her partner's bias opinion on the items to steal. Still, their target was for the right reasons. "Maybe next time, kitty. For now, how about we get some brunch. After that, we can put the final touch in place." she said.

"Mreow! About time" Hex said, sticking her head out from the bag Temperance had. "Lets try that cafe down the road. I hear they have lovely lox !"

Selina rolled her eyes at her cat's fixation for fish, but wouldn't get far... as she would soon encounter a familiar face...

Something Wicked This Way Comes... (Part 2) Empty Re: Something Wicked This Way Comes... (Part 2)

Post by Gawdwyn 4th September 2020, 3:37 pm

Gawdwyn observed this group of thugs in front of him. They are clearly here for Gawdwyn and want nothing but to hurt him. He is listening in to all of their rants and threats from the group of men in the restaurant. In his head, he is thinking, what the hell do they want? It's clear that He pissed them off, but he is acting like this happened before which it isn't a good thing. What's more, is that he is thinking about how to hurt them; planning on which person is going to receive who. He really doesn't feel like fight today. So With his 'Time' ability. He increases his speed to an utmost unbelievable degree and one by one, Gawdwyn hits a thug at the back of the head with a double hammer fist. Each person all the way outside was falling down like dominos. Until the only one left was the big guy. Everyone in the bar was shocked as to what just happened. Less then a hundredth of a second they were knocked out instantly. Only a few people in the world know his ability. And a fewer know what he can and also can keep up with him. The big guy was confused just like everyone else, which was a normal reaction. But then just started charging, running at Gawdwyn. All Gawdwyn did was just sighed at him as if he was tired of this. This was boring. Very uninteresting. Instead of petty thugs, he wishes to go on a mission that his time could be of use, fighting monsters that his life can be endangered, or for him to go all out. And instead of any of that, he gets a weak gang of people with anger issues that have no right to be in this city.

Gawdwyn stood up nonchalant and with a bored expression, strengthen his hands and with a speeding reflex almost as if his right arm disappeared, palm trusted this large five hundred plus pound man's face so hard that he flew through the building wall and into the streets outside. The big man landed on his feet despite being flown into a wall. With his speed and time ability, he moved so fast as if he was teleported and appeared right on the other side of the hole in the wall. The incredibly large man then went down to what looked like a sumo position. Gawdwyn tried to get him unconscious in one hit but this time, he might actually have to use all of his strength. There was a crowd of people that quickly stood by as they watched what happened.

Gawdwyn had his hands in his pockets like the large man with all of his power with one step in, brought his right hand back and with a scream, delivered a right overhand punch to Gawdwyns face. The sound of his face getting punch can be heard through both sides of the street. What shocking is that Gawdwyn's head didn't even move, let alone his body. Then the large man tried to throw a wide hook. But this time, no sound. When he tried to do it a second time. There was no sound.

"You're head might not realize it, though your body might have..." The large man and everyone stood quiet and heard what Gawdwyn was saying. "Your body is afraid." Then The large man pulled his right hand back only a couple of feet in front of Gawdwyn and yelled. "AAAaaaaahhhhhhh" Gawdwyn was going to get punched and blown this time, is what people are saying as it was happening. But in the last second, Gawdwyn used his time ability to quickly palm thrust the man again and this time since he is using increased speed behind his power, the man will be flown further but this time he will be dug into the ground. The sound from that was like debris from a building had hit the ground. The next sound a person would hear was the man's arms and legs hit the ground flat, knowing that he like many are unconscious.

He stood straight, putting his hands in his pocket and felt something wet sliding down his lip. Blood from the punch he took. As he was about to wipe it he saw a familiar face on the other side of the large street. "You."

The moment the cat said 'lox'-- an eruption came from the door of a nearby bar and men came flying out onto the street. Even Hex let out a meow of shock and dove into Selina's bag in surprise. Selina jumped without a second though, her hair on end a bit as she saw the violence. What was an even bigger surprised hidden behind her glasses-- was the blue-haired man who came out, looking like a giant superhero from his ripped muscles, to ridiculous attire and blue hair. The rune knight was clearly unmistakable from his appearance to his overly testosterone-charged violence he displayed in public. Needless to say, a lot of people were in shock to see the man beat up a few larger guys in the street.

Hex peeked out from the bag to see the man and looked surprised. "Him? " the cat mewed softly.

The cat soon ducked as his gaze came towards them-- and then Selina heard him as he locked eyes on him and called out to her.

    Damnit...

    Damnit...

The thought crossed them both at the same time as Selina realize she ran into the guy from last time. The knight who was overly aggressive. And he was coming right over to her!

"O-Oh hi there... ahhh... you're that guy from the other day...ahaha..." Selina laughed nervously, her cheeks red a bit and her glasses already thick enough but possibly fogging up from the rise in her temperature. "H-How are you?" she said with a smile.

Behind the smile, however, she was mentally cringing. OF all the people and all the luck she had after just casing a joint, she had to run into the hyper-masculine knight with an impulse control problem. This guy again... she grumbled in her head. Due to the magic she and Hex shared-- the black cat could hear her clearly via their thoughts.

"Firstly, what happened, you disappeared. And when I say that, it is as if you were there and then gone. I only looked away for a few seconds. You couldn't have gone by the corner let alone out of my sight, but you did. Oh, and I'm doing well, I'm bored even after a fight with almost more than two dozen people. IT was boring. For the most part, the big fella over there made it interesting in the end. Almost made me want to play with him a bit longer, but I need to be professional and takedown before we cause great collateral damage. Don't judge me. " He said giving a long, long explanation of what occurred when he first met this woman. With his speed, she would have been found in less than ten seconds minimum. But it was almost as if she was on one spot and vanished. His only assumption was that she has a magical ability to disappear and reappear
    to another location.

"Let's go for a walk, and this time, no disappearing." Some guards came in just in time right after meeting his acquaintance and after the beatdown. "Soldier, take care of the men unconscious, they are to be charged with assault on a rune knight, that being me. Get the big one over there unconscious to a hospital and in jail."

The young rune knight looked over to all the men unconscious and then the large man behind Gawdwyn, "Sir, you have to stop making a mess like this, it just means more work for us. "

" My bad, but they're all in one place." He started laughing.

He seemed almost angry. NOt about the fighting he had done and how 'bored' he was, but more how she just up and vanished from before. The glasses hid so much, including the look of shock on her face. "Ah, well I just simply had to go. I am not open to watching a bare-knuckle brawl like most." she retorted to his complaint. "But I simply tend to avoid such violent conflicts a bit... ahahah..." She tried to laugh, but it was pained due to the intense gaze the man gave her.

This was bad for her. She kept her face in character and her eyes nervous-- which was clear, but she didn't expect this guy to take such interest to her in her current disguise. His reasoning was crazy too. I mean, who wouldn't turn and walk away from a disgustingly violent brawl after what HE DID last time. Not that she was disgusted by him personally but he seemed dark-minded that seemed questionable for a Rune Knight. The fact he not only commanded so much authority with the other knights despite his behavior but was also both impressive and scary to witness.

His request to walk with her made it clear of his interest in her. "Um, that's very nice of you to offer, but I have other plans. I just finished an interview and report. I was just on my way to the cafe for a late brunch, so--"

"Cou-Stalker--Cough-Cough!" Hex's voice came from her bag, trying to repel the large knight by throwing her voice that someone was commenting on his overbearing attempt.

Temperance knew it was from her Exceed in her bag and she quickly snugged the back closer to her over the sound of it. "Ah-- pardon me, my stomach. Haven't eaten since early this morning. So I guess that walk is gonna have to wait..." she said as she tried to slowly back away and head for the cafe.

Though he could easily stop her at this or insist otherwise.

"Actually, it's funny that you mentioned that since I was waiting for my dish to arrive before being interrupted by these rude people. So now I would have to go to a different place for some lunch. Besides on our way we have some important matters to discuss." He said in a calm and collected manner. However, though what he said was calm and perhaps friendly to the outside, he was hiding the seriousness behind his words.

"When we- " He was interrupted from one of the guards of the Rune Knights. "Sir! BEHIND YOU!" Before he could finish he felt his head grabbed from the back and pulled his body back slamming him to the ground.

His head was on the ground. But what the big thug doesn't know is that Gawdwyn had control of the full motion of this. So much so that his whole body wasn't even on the ground. His feet was still flat on the ground and to his knees were still up. What kind of person is this, to have his hands still in his pockets while receiving this kind of treatment, is what people are saying.

But what truly shocking is that he was slowly getting up while having his head pushed to the ground.

How the hell could this be happening? She didn't feel this out of sync since she went through that phase of luck magic making her that clumsy. It had to be bad luck, as what would compel the reuniting with this crazy person of a knight of all people and how he got into fights right in front of her? Was he trying to impress her by the brutal show of violence... which was more annoying that she had to admit she did like his gun-ho attitude from it all. He was funny, simple, a bit cute...

... wait, why was she falling for his stupid charm. He was like Free but less pervy and with blue hair!

TO make matters worse, he soon invited himself to join her for lunch. Her face was red and her glasses now instantly fogged up. "Huh? EXCUSE ME? " she gasped.

Let me give him cat-scratch fever... mreheheh... Hex meowed in telepathy to her, trying to be backup for the in disguised witch. Clearly, the cat didn't like the idea of unwanted guys hitting on her-- though it wouldn't be the first time she was the center of such attention. But the last thing she wanted was a knight poking his nose into her business and discover her ... interests.

"Th-that isn't necessary, you know," She said, addressing them both-- even if Gawdwyn couldn't hear the cat in her bag.

However, before she knew it-- Gawdwyn answered for her and took her by the arm. Without even trying, he easily led her right past the crushed foe he had smashed into the road, and leading them for the nearby cafe. While his grip wasn't rough, it was iron clad-- it wouldn't let her pull away-- and if she teleported away via her cards, she would regret it-- giving her magic away!

More so the gesture only made her face redder.

Before she knew it, she sat on the outside eating area of a bistro located overlooking the very museum she had been casing. Did he pick here because he knew about her, or perhaps it just was a coincidence? Not that she wouldn't have chosen this place either. The food advertised was classy and sounded good. She sat there in the chair, her hands in her lap patiently as waited for the waiter to show up.

She was conflicted by all of this, and she didn't even have to act the part as she sat across the small table with the blue-haired knight. What was it that this person wanted to discuss with her of all people?

As she sat there, her bag was under the table-- meaning Hex could be unseen by the knight for the moment so long as she behaved. That wasn't likely, as the cat would peek out, looking for opportunities and intended to eavesdrop on them.

The baristo had some good drinks. After what happened he would need a good beverage to calm himself down. "This place has always give such a calming environment. Anyway, here is what I want to talk to you about. You see, I may appear like some violent brute, but an idiot. A lot of people get fucked for mistaking that. So please, how did you escape? From My speed, not many people can do that. And to save you from embarrassing yourself, the witnesses all said that you just 'vanished'. So please enlighten me and put my curiosity at ease."

Gawdwyn explained to her that he knows that people think of him as some brute but they are dead wrong. HE is violent but not as cruel as he tends to be. HE takes his job seriously and knows that depending on the person, he will show violent action as if they are enemies. No matter how trivial. However, the violent part, is only a half truth. He is so strong that he wishes for a glorious challenger. He may go to far, but he doesn't want to have his time wasted by such worthless scum and low criminals. And he meets this women by chance and she vanishes from his sight. Even from his speed, there was no way that she could have gotten far from him, but she was just gone. He wants to know how she did it..

Temperance sat there, feeling her brow grow damp and her temperature hot from the sudden position she was in. True, she had been in much worse situations, but she had been so careful and this case, this man had caught on to her unusual nature. She was a smooth and in control super thief. How could this moron catch on to her unique traits so quickly? She would have loved to just relax and accept the free meal from another 'suitor' but this was now starting to go beyond Temperance's plans.

All the while, Hex kept in wait like a jungle cat down below, out of sight. Her tail swished out of Lina's bag as she glared at the pair of legs owned to the knight. Just say the word, Tempy and I'll lay a healthy dose of bad-luck witchiness on him. she growled in their telepathy.

Temperance took a breath and simply choose to ignore her overly eager feline familiar. She didn't hesitate and put on a small act.

"Oh, sure! Rub it in!" she said, her tone defensive but also a hint of sadness in her voice. "So you're saying I slipped away because I was invisible or something? What do you think that does to a girl's self-esteem, huh?" With her nerdy attire, the gesture would come off clear. Selina did indeed come off looking like a nerdy girl most would not give much notice to. Perhaps she could turn his attention away from her.

Ah I get it. Mreow, Hex purred, Nerdy beauty act-- part 2!

Shush, cat! Temperance replied to her with a mild nudge of her foot into the bag.

"And besides, what kind of date is this? An interrogation?" she replied, "You haven't even introduced yourself. The name is Lina, by the way. How rude can you get for a knight? "

Temperance felt a bit calmer now, having used her great acting skills to divert the attention away-- or so she hoped. He probably was more persistent than that, but she should at least get a name out of him and vise versa.

"Hello there, " the waitress said, approaching the table. "Can I take your order?"

Lina sighed as she calmed herself. "French Toast and strawberries, please. And a pumpkin spice latte, as well." she added.

...mew... a cat-like sound came softly in the air.

Temperance flinched at that, and adjusted her glasses. "Actually. Can I replace the strawberries with a side of lox, please?"

Hex really wanted to get her fish this morning...

Gawdwyn listened to this woman as she didn't give any information on what was related to his question on how she left. And instead of answering the question he asked, this woman gave him nothing. IT is almost as if she is avoidinging with this drama. And even suggesting that he is trying to hit on her with this date. Gawdwyn doesn't even know how to respond to what she is saying. Gawdwyn was taken a back and more so confused to what this woman was saying. It didn't make sense. She even pointed out how rude he was for dragging her here and questioning her as if it was an interrogation. "Interrogation? That's funny. And 'Date' is even funnier. I wouldn't choose this place to be our first date. But I will give you this, you are right for my 'Rudeness'. My name is Gawdwyn. And I can move VERY fast. So when you left, I moved quickly to search the area, and you didn't slip away, far beyond that. It was as if you vanished."

The waitress came for their order and 'Gawdwyn ordered a drink from the previous restaurant. He doesn't really have to order anything. He just likes the atmosphere around this place. IT just soothes the soul; helps him relax. "I'm fine, thank you."

"Lina, you peeked my interest as well triggered my curiosity. That is why I'm interested in you. And you have nothing to worry about, this isn't an interrogation. If you feel that way, I apologise. As you see, I am not the most gentle person, but definitely not the meanest. There are people worse than me...believe it or not. On SECOND THOUGHT...Miss, I would like some black coffee."

Something Wicked This Way Comes... (Part 2) Empty Re: Something Wicked This Way Comes... (Part 2)

Post by Temperance 1st November 2020, 8:27 am

Hex grumbled as the knight named Gawdwyn ordered simple coffee. She had hoped to knock him down a peg by stealing some of his own food when he wasn't looking. Fast-- my ass, the cat would think. She was not a cat for nothing. Speed was her thing. As any cat burglar would be.

Selina was indeed realizing despite how foolish this guy behaved, he was a lot sharper. She would have to be careful with him, especially he was a knight. Any slip would easily cause problems for her later as he answered. His name was Gawdwyn and they formally introduced themselves. Though the idea of interrogation and date being hilarious for him meant he had very few ideas of 'romance'.

"Okay, speedy..." Temperance added in a bit of a jab at his pride, but still a bit hinting to him. "Let's not go too fast here."

Ooooh, he probably is too fast for his own good if you know what I am saying, hmm? the cat replied to Temperance in secret-- hinting at a clearly problematic ability about 'speed' that could damage a man's pride.

Temperance restrained a chuckle out of her. If Gawdwyn heard that, that would indeed bruise his pride.

A breath came from Temperance as she adjusted her disguise glasses. "I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions. And I just don't know what to tell you. I guess I am just a slippery one when I got somewhere to be. I am a reporter after all. We always got to be willing to move at a moment's notice," she said, adding the layer of her facade as a reporter for her cover. "I am a reporter with the Sorcerer Weekly magazine. "

All the while, she realized still being in a presence of this knight was dangerous. No matter how simple he seemed, or distracted he could be-- if he caught wind that her alter ego was the infamous super-thief Temperance, she would be in big trouble. At least, in terms of right this moment. Still, a part of her enjoyed toying with the goodie-two-shoes light mages. Not in a cruel way, but to prove their naivety can be a problem. Messing with them to help them grow-- but this guy clearly had more going on. He wasn't naive at all.

"Here's your order," the waitress said as she soon returned-- showing Temperance her French Toast, Latte and the lox she ordered. She also handed Gawdwyn his coffee as well.

"And I can understand. As a knight, I am sure you have faced many crueler people out there. So I am sorry I was a bit shy to getaway. You seem like a really nice guy," Selina said, "And don't worry. You're not the first 'rough' man I had to deal with. " she said with a bit of a tease.

Oh, brother... Hex groaned telepathically at Temperance's tease.

Another light tap of her foot urged the cat to be quiet.

Gawdwyn listened in on her response. He kept his composure from her smart comments and whit. There was a time that he would have cracked her jaw from saying some of the stuff like that but from her pretty face, he wouldn't do it. She would have to severely and stupidly insult him or say his mother. "If you think I am violent, then you should have met me years ago. I would have cracked your jaw from saying shit like that. Heh heh heh." As she spoke, she explained that she is a reporter and how she 'disappeared' was because she was a slippery one. Gawdwyn doesn't believe that not one bit. No way she is 'slippery'. She must have some magic ability. Faster than what he can do, no damned way in hell she could just move fast or slip away as she calls it.

"I'm going to tell you something about my job. I know, I'm not 'knight-ly' like the rest of them. But the Boss wanted me in, because of those cruel bastards that the rest of the knights can't handle. They're strong but they can't fight on their level. You know what the high ups told me on the day I downed the uniform. "We need wolves to catch wolves." HA! Though you have to excuse me for my interest in you. Thought you could be linked to someone." HE explained that his jobb was to hunt and fight people that are too ruthless for the regular knights. And she understood that there are some people that are monsters in the world.

"Thank you. You are the very first person to actually give me a compliment me ever since becoming a Rune Knight, Lina." He remembered that his mother said to always give thanks when something nice was given and also always be grateful for that gift.

Something Wicked This Way Comes... (Part 2) Empty Re: Something Wicked This Way Comes... (Part 2)

Post by Temperance 7th November 2020, 8:02 pm

Temperance had to admit, she liked the fast he was not the same as the knights. "Wolves to hunt wolves' was an interesting way to put it. The more she talked to him, the more she realized there was more to him than just a brute who enjoyed getting into fights. The mild threat about punching her in the jaw did make her raise a brow-- but she didn't give much reaction to that one. She could imagine trading blows and get dirty with him...

... she quelched the idea as if she gave it too much thought-- Hex would sense it and heckle her forever over it.

"Link to someone? And whom would that be?" she said, adjusting her glasses in a slight gesture of interest in him.

Here it comes... Hex replied again in her thoughts as they talked.

While Gawdwyn was busy talking and somewhat gloating about his amazing prowess-- Hex took action when he wasn't looking as a paw silently snuck up-- and swiped the lox off Lina's plate. It would be so fast, as he was distracted-- he probably wouldn't see who or what took it as Temperance was the only one there. She merely added to the situation by casually taking a bite out of her french toast as she listened to whom Gawdwyn was looking for? A thief? A criminal?

After the brief moment for Hex to nibble on her fish-- Temperance's demeanor calmed to a more in control sense. She was enjoying her talk with this man and found him pretty fun. But the longer she stayed with him, the more she could be found out. Hex, I think its time we send it out.

A soft mew escaped as Hex nearly swallowed the rest of her lox whole in surprise. Mrew?! You want me to send out the calling card? Now?! she asked, a bit surprised. We barely scoped the place out. Are you sure?

Selina calmly sipped from her Pumpkin Spice Latte as she replied to her feline companion. I know its short notice-- but I cannot think of a better time to do it, she replied, her eyes glued to Gawdwyn as she looked at him seriously behind her glasses.

Hex gave a soft lick and smack of her lips, finishing her little snack. Alright. I'll do it. It should take a few minutes, the cat said, then added a little snicker. Just don't go stealing his heart so soon either, hm?

Oh just go.... she thought roughly, tempted to give the cat another kick but restrained herself.

From right under Gawdwin's chair-- Hex, black witch's hat and all-- darted right under him and ran off. If he did catch a hint of her, she would be a soft blur and quickly vanish among the other tables, crowd and people...

" You know... " Selina said as she rested her chin on her hand, "I am on the hunt for a dangerous person too. I cover stories in trying to find an elusive super thief. Did you hear of it? " she asked, "Maybe you read one of my articles about it?"

Post by Gawdwyn 7th November 2020, 9:12 pm

"Heh heh heh. Actually that super thief is the one I was about to speak to you about. It is only a rumor though. How it spread was this person having powerful magic. The only reason that this Mage is reall was because of two things, one, every crime that happened there was always a powerful signature where the object or artifact was stolen. And the second thing was a silouette of a woman in the shadows before a guard would be knocked out. Also, she inspired other criminals and thieves. So much so that many women across the country have copied her gimmick. Some and few were able to pull off the 'danger'' of her. But a great many failed to copy her 'allure'. What I am certain that she is out there is because the power that she emits exceeds that of all the other cats out there."

"Excuse me, Here is you drink, Sir." The waitress came and delivered him the drink he ordered.

"Sir, Excuse me! " A rune knight came in to speak to Gawdwyn.

    "Hmm, What is it?"

"This is for you." The Rune Knight gave Gawdwyn an envelope. This Envelope had waxed stamped suggesting it was not opened and ordered by high up.

"Thank you." Gawdwyn slipped his finger in the envelope and used it to cut the top of the envelope open. There was a gold piece of paper. What appeared to be a ticket. Then A white letter was taken out and he started to read it. 'There is a Gala for this wealthy family we need you to protect, especially the daughter. She is of the greatest importants. This Gala is taken place in the Grand Muesum. Many Rune Knights will be there as back up as we believe that The Thief would be coming next.'

"This isn't my kind of thing, but if that is what they want, tell them I'll arrive there on time."He held the letter to his hands and held on to hit tightly. He quickly drank his drink. "Lina, meeting you was pleasent. Hopefully we meet again and next time to give you a proper date, heh."

"Oh and keep that cat on a leash. When you date."

That certainly was unexpected. Quckly she reached out to Hex-- just as the cat was about ready to deploy the calling card. "Hex-- hold on a minute. Do not deploy the calling card. she thought.

Elsehwehere the cat had a bunch of calling cards--shaped as tarot cards in a bag ready. The cat was about ready to fly when she heard the message. "Are you kidding? After all that ?! You owe me salmon for this, Tempy!"

Selina sat quietly as the man handed over the envelope to Gawdwyn, seeming to reveal a lot more news. She overheard what was going on and had an idea of how she could infiltrate the target a lot better than her usual method. Now she may very well have a ticket in if she played her cards right.

"Um, cat?" Lina asked, playing dumb for that moment. She held her tongue-- not about to give away she had the cat as her own. She felt stupid that he caught sight of her. He was fast... and she would have to be on guard with him.

He was quick to wrap things up, but made the hint of another date. If only he knew what Temperance was plotting now. Just as she got her bag and caught up before he left. "Hey, Gawdwyn... I'll hold you to that proper date," she said as she approached him. With a small gesture, she pulled out a small 'buisness card'-- which was pretty much just that. A buisness card with her alias as a reporter and an Ilac number to reach her. "So... give me a call when you want to have some fun-- or let me in on an exclusive scoop how you knights catch a thief, hm?" she said-- her tone betraying a bit of a sexy tone despite her nerdy appearance.

She then gestured forward-- pressing herself briefly against his strong and muscular body. Her glasses was right up to his faces, unable to see her face as she tucked the card into the rim of his pants in a teasing gesture.

With a soft chuckle and touch-- she lightly pushed herself away and walked away-- expecting for him to call her whenever the mood struck him.  With the steamy goodbye-- she was sure he would hold on to that for a bit-- including the little surprise she left on her calling card.

    End.
