It was not often that she found herself being directly challenged to a fight but that only made today's job more intriguing. It seemed that her reputation as a brawler was starting to grow and although that could have been taken as an insult, she did not think of it in that way. She had quickly grown sick of the stereotype regarding water mages and had done everything possible to try and dispel that train of thought.
She had been waiting at the appointed clearing for a good half an hour without any sign of her opponent and the mage was becoming just a little frustrated. Lena was more than up for a fight today and her blood was already pumping with adrenaline and a lust for battle. She had no idea who her opponent would be and that only intensified her more carnal feelings.
Her thought train was swiftly derailed as a voice from above took her by surprise. She glanced up to see a flame goblin coming down towards her, wielding a knife. She swiftly jumped back, dodging the attack and lashing out with a fierce kick, which knocked the goblin back. It landed, grinned and suddenly burst into flame, before charging directly towards her. Lena simply smirked back and surrounded her fists with water, her usual opening move. Charging in to face him, she launched a punch towards him and he met it with his knife, causing a brief stalemate as fire and water clashed. However, the advantage was clearly hers and she soon managed to break it and catch him head on with a right handed punch, followed by a left. He had picked the wrong element to try and fight with and she intended to make him regret his decision. She pressed her advantage and battered the goblin with jabs and hooks, using both hands to keep him off balance. He managed to deflect a few but the majority hit their mark, as he struggled to defend against a magic that he was weak against.
Jumping away, he back flipped away and threw his knife towards her. It was not a bad throw but his accuracy was off, missing Lena completely and allowing her to cast one of her ranged attacks, sending a wave of water towards him. The attack struck him hard and pushed him up against the rock face, before she unleashed her "Screech Of The Water Goddess" in order to pin him against it, stunned momentarily. Continuing her combo, she then clapped her hands and summoned a geyser of water to rise up beneath him, drenching him in scalding water. He was completely dazed by her assault and she dived in close to unleash further left and right handed punches, bombarding him with a vicious torrent of strikes. The drawing of blood soon followed, which was the key for her to unlock her full potential. The more blood that was spilt, the greater her power grew and the more damage that unleashed. His defences were gone and she built him senselessly, driving him harder and harder against the rock face until she finally let up, letting him sink to the floor in a heap.
She stalked the goblin like a wolf, as he slowly started to rise. The fire that had surrounded him had gone out and he was clearly on death's door. It would take much to finish him off. Lena was well past the point of mercy and with a snap of her fingers, a whip of water appeared in her hand and she started cracking it towards him, although rather than let it bind him as she usually did with her opponents, she simply struck again and again. His cries soon rang out, which sounded like the most soothing music in the world to her.
It was only when the cries stopped that she allowed the whip to disappear. Lena approached him and used her foot to roll him over onto his back. He looked up at her briefly, before his eyes closed for the last time. Another fool down and another victory for the fluidic mage. Oh, how she loved this life, free of authority, free of rules and free to do whatever she wished. What better life could there possibly be then that? True freedom. All she needed now was a cold drink to put the finishing touch to things and that was definitely her next port of call.
A roar from behind her soon caught her attention, pushing that thought out of her mind and she turned around to find herself facing a Minotaur, a monstrous creature with a massive axe. It wasted little time and charged towards her, its head bent down in an attempt to impale her with its horns. Lena dodged the attack, allowing the beast to crash into the rock face and stagger itself. She then activated two of her stat boosting abilities and charged in, hurling left and right punches to the back and mid section of the beast, the sound of her strikes causing the brute to howl in pain and anger. It lashed out with a powerful back kick, knocking Lena back about ten feet or so. It did not break through her defences but it gave the creature enough time to recover and turn towards her. It moved forward and attempted a massive two handed cleave which would have easily taken the head off anyone foolish enough to get in the way. The mage, however, simply ducked underneath and delivered her signature punch to its liver, followed by a claw across the midsection, causing it to bleed and setting off the vampire's lust for blood.
Enraged, it let out a powerful bellow and launched another powerful swing of its axe but again, the mage was just too agile and dodged it fairly easily. The monster used up so much energy when swinging that it left itself easily open for a counter, which Lena leapt upon, scoring with another pair of powerful blows to the body of the beast. It was just too slow and lumbering to keep up with her and each time it swung, it used up more and more energy to do it. The vampire was connecting more and more frequently and the damage soon began to add up on the creature. She jumped back out of range and then delivered a powerful burst of water from her mouth, sending it back up against the rock face and stunning it for a short time, before unleashing a wave of water which kept it pinned against the rocks.
Realising it was being beaten, the beast desperately charged forwards again but the mage simply jumped high in the air and landed on top of the creature. She took a position on top of it and then started raining down punches, one of which managed to break one of the beast's horns and caused it to cry out in pain. She grabbed on to the horn before it could fall and plunged it into the forehead of the Minotaur, causing blood to spurt everywhere and the beats roaring once again. Smiling sickeningly, the mage repeated this procedure twice, causing more damage with each painful attack. Finally, the beast managed to swing around enough that Lena lost her balance and tumbled off although she had dealt a fair bit of damage already.
Wounded and with surprising speed, the Minotaur quickly charged towards the mage in an attempt to trample her, an attack which the vampire only just managed to roll out of the way of. Leaping to her feet, Lena then raised a hand to the heavens and after a moment, a downpour of rain began to hammer down on the area, harming the Minotaur while increasing Lena's abilities even more. I stupidly tried to swing its axe at the rain in order to get rid of it, an act which made the vampire simply raise an eyebrow at. Taking advantage of the distraction, she jumped into the air, surrounded herself with water and dashed towards the creature, ramming it in the stomach and sending it crashing to the ground, dropping its axe in the process.
The mage then proceeded to charge forwards and take up a mount position on the beast, pounding it with more punches. There was blood everywhere now and both the Minotaur and Lena were covered in it. She unleashed a barrage of blows that soon began to make their mark on the creature, scoring hits across the beasts face, it still did not stop though and managed to eventually throw her off but it was pretty much on death's door and as it struggled to its feet. It was a proud creature though and managed to take a hold of its axe once more and face the vampire again. They began to circle each other, the rain still coming down hard, dealing more damage to the wounded beast. It was determined to go down with its weapon in hand and that was something that Lena could respect. It was not often that she thought that about an opponent but it had done well for itself.
The Minotaur changed grip and came forwards with a one handed cleave, aiming for speed rather than strength. It was a decent attack and almost caught Lena but the monster was sluggish now and the mage had a vast speed advantage on the creature, especially in her own downpour. With another well timed evade, the vampire used her evaporation skill to teleport behind the beast and delivered a pair of powerful blows to the monster's liver and kidney, causing it to drop the axe again and fall to the ground. Lena then sprinted over to the axe and picked it up herself, before darting back in towards the creature. It attempted to attack with a weak left handed punch but Lena swung the axe and ended up cleaving the limb off, before jumping up on the creatures head and bringing the axe down on it, causing it to unleash another painful bellow. The beast certainly had a hard head though meaning that the axe did not penetrate it fully and did not finish the beast off. So she raised it a second time and brought it down even harder. This time it did the job as the Minotaur collapsed. Dead.
Throwing the axe aside, Lena then climbed off of the creature and took a seat next to its body, savouring the pleasure of victory against a strong foe. It had done well and survived many of her stronger attacks although the end result had always been obvious. It would take a powerful foe indeed to put her down for long and her powers were growing by the day. She could almost feel Aqua’s presence, relishing in the carnage and Lena could almost feel her former arms embracing her as she often did after a good fight. Aqua had certainly had her fill of blood and chaos for today and the fight was the most fun that the mage had experienced for a while. Oh, how she loved combat jobs and after she knew that she would probably be sticking to them from now on. They were good training and she always enjoyed them. Sure, it was rare that she faced a challenge but that only made those rare encounters more exhilarating.
The rain soon disappeared and the sun began to shine again, revealing just how much blood had been spilt. It was everywhere and caused the victorious mage to chuckle to herself at the sight. It aroused her in a way that very few things could and again she briefly felt aggrieved that she could share her win with her former teacher. The fight made her want to do nothing more than grab the blue haired goddess and have her way with her, a feeling that she was sure that Aqua probably had felt too. She briefly thought back to their first meeting and they had definitely had a good time then. Lena had been with many women in her time but Aqua was on a different level, she oozed power and lust, traits that the mage had never found in anyone before. That was what had brought the vampire to her and why she’d been so desperate to learn the woman’s lethal magic. It had been a hell of a task too but in the end, Lena had managed to do it. By defeating the goddess in single combat, much to the surprise of Aqua. What a fight it had been to.
Eventually, the mage stood up and started to wander off as she always did, leaving the defeated beast to be devoured by the birds or insects. It had done well for itself and Lena hoped that it would not be the last time that she would face a monster of that calibre. She doubted that it would be as the mysterious mage who kept sending the requests seemed adamant in defeating her. Well, perhaps next time he would send a stronger creature to do the job or if she was lucky, perhaps he would come himself. It was a rather cowardly tactic to hide behind monsters anyway and Lena hoped to one day have the chance to beat him to a bloody pulp like his beasts. She briefly wondered if perhaps he was a beast himself, a thought that sent a pleasant shiver down her spine. That would be fantastic and brought a grin to her face. Draining him of all of his fluids would be a special occasion and she sincerely hoped that it would come to pass.
Humming to herself as she disappeared into the trees, the pinkette once more set out on her lifelong quest of adventure and blood. There never seemed to be an end to it which she was eternally thankful for. There was always someone else who needed to be beaten, humiliated or killed and it seemed to fall to her most of the time. She was an outcast, an immortal among mortals, loyal to herself. It gave her such an immense sense of freedom knowing that. The Magic Council had no hold over her and never would. It was something that she would never allow to happen. She was not a lonely teenager, desperate to find a purpose or desperate for somewhere to belong. No, she already had both of those things. Her purpose was to spread chaos and to feed her and her partners desire for blood and she belonged on the road, with her partner for company. Everything else was meaningless to her.
Her thoughts soon started to dwell on her adventure thus far which caused her grin to widen. All of the jobs, the sensations and the sheer elation of it all. How long would the adventure last? Well, that was hard to say. Until someone actually had the strength to beat her, she supposed. Was there anyone who could do that? Doubtful.
