DOUGHNUTS FOR EVERYONE!

It had been a long time since Scully had been at the area in his old policeman's uniform. He was climbing nervously up the stairs while holding a box of his signature doughnuts to hopefully give to the hardworking and upstanding law enforcers of the new Rune Knights. And despite people constantly offers their help to carry the boxes for him, which is carry 5 dozen of these delectable treats, he would kindly refuse, saying that he can carry them alright, seeing as he only needed his one hand to hold up the stack. It was of course also their kindness that gives him the strength to go through the stairs. Finally upon reaching the top he would look around at first, obviously trying to get a feel of the place, even the smell of justice in the atmosphere, and after a deep breath, he was ready. He approached was seemed to be a civilian reception desk and placed the box of doughnuts down beside him, keeping a hand on top of them while using the other to tip his hat off to the receptionist. "Hello there, I'm Scully Wiggles and how does one become a Rune Knight these days?" he asked politely. After which, he opened the top box and reached for a doughnut and offered it to the personnel with a smile. "You look like you're working hard keeping the peace and order. Here, have a doughnut! Made it myself." he said as he slid it over to the employee as it was placed on a paper mat that, thankfully, the person accepted and enjoyed. He was filled with joy and happiness upon seeing what a simple doughnut had done. So much so that the person shouted it out the rest of the Rune Knights in the area that there were free doughnuts at the reception area. Immediately the rushed to their area asking if the doughnuts were indeed for them to which the fat former policeman shouted "Why yes it is, guys. Free Doughnuts for the Rune Knights!" they smiled and accepted his offer upon opening the first and second top box which were instantly emptied out by them. A heart warming sight to be sure for the man who made them, putting both of his hands over his chest.

Alicia was preoccupied with some paper work, she had filled out a report for a job she had did. There was a group of suspicious folk reported earlier in the week, Alicia and her squad was ordered to investigate. After a few weeks following the trail, it ended up in a dead end, the case was dismissed and now Alicia had found some free time on her hands. She had promptly turned in her report to the officer in charge exchanging in some small talk before she excused herself and headed towards to the reception area of the Rune Knights headquarters. As soon as she stepped out into the hall way she was greeted by a few rune knights she recognized, the group were some people she was with during the orientation she had when she first joined the Rune Knight Ranks. One of the privates rushing noticed and recognize Alicia and waved at her. "Yo! Alicia apparently there's free doughnuts!" The young rune knight shouted at the end of the hall before taking turn around the corner at break neck speed.

Doughnuts? Alicia wondered. She was indeed craving for some sweets and decided to go investigate. Perhaps if she was lucky there would a doughnut left for her. Even so she kept a decent pace, she felt that there was no need to run, besides she had a remain proper and professional. She made her way down the hall and a soon as she turned the corner she was greeted by a mass of uniformed law enforcers. Like a bunch of blood thirsty sharks the rune knights devoured the doughnut offerings. By the time, Alicia could get close enough to see who brought the doughnuts, the crowd had cleaned the box leaving nothing but crumbs. What a shame... Alicia thought, she was a tiny bit disappointed but she most definitely not heart broken. If she wanted she could always go down town to purchase herself her own supply of sweets. Even so, she could not help but wonder what the doughnuts tasted like. The treats must have been delicious due to the happy crowd that slowly began to disperse. Eventually Alicia made her way through the remaining bunch of rune knights. There she saw a happy and jolly looking man holding an empty box, it seemed that this man was the deliverer of doughnuts.

"Hello, and thank you for sharing your wonderful doughnuts. It seems that my coworkers enjoyed your treat." Alicia stepped forward giving the Doughnut man a warm and welcoming smile. Alicia was wearing her standard Rune Knight uniform, it was freshly ironed. Her whole attire was perfectly in order, due to Alicia's attention to detail, she was dressed as a perfect example of what an ideal Rune knight should look like. She held herself with grace and discipline as she came to greet the new comer. She extended her hand forward for a handshake as she began to politely introduce herself. "I'm Private Alicia Sinclair. A pleasure to meet you... are you perhaps here to join our ranks?" She inquired as she looked at the kind gentleman curiously.

Among the dispersing crowd who had nearly ransacked the box Scully brought wit him, was a white-haired lady, all dressed prim and proper. He would have thought her to be a very high ranking official with how professionally she carried herself and he found it admirable. Though it appears as she has not had a piece of doughnut herself. Looking at the box, witnessing nothing but leftover paper wrappers and crumbs, the man ripped the box's side and bottom half apart, revealing a another layer of doughnuts. What they thought was the end of the box was merely a divider. Scully thought it was a clever way of making sure more people would get a taste of his doughnuts. He'd do the thing kids like to call dab these days if it wasn't too inappropriate in front of a professional, so he simply handed a piece to her and said "Well I'm hoping you enjoy it too, miss." happily.

The young lady introduced herself as Private Sinclair which was quite the shocking revelation to the jolly fat man, shattering his illusion of her being an officer. In respect, Scully held out his hand to take hers for a shake. After which, he would tip his hat off to her and take it off placing it over his chest "Scully Wiggles, Ms. Sinclair. he replied, sound a bit more professional and serious than the happy fellow usual does. She had also asked that if he was there to join, in relief he nodded slightly and slowly. Relieved that he didn't have to wait long to start getting back in the force.  "Sure am, miss! So how do I go on about doing just that?" he replied enthusiastically as he clapped his hands together after placing his cap back on his head. His excitement brimming once again. He really can't wait to join the Rune Knights.

Alicia's serious demeanor broke for a faction of a second, as a smile curled upon her lips as Scully Wiggles tored to box to reveal the secret treasure trove of doughnuts. Alicia looked at the doughnuts and looked up at Scully and then back down on the doughnuts once again. "Thank you Mr.Wiggles" She smiled and graciously took one doughnut and took a bite out of the plump delicious doughnut. Alicia's tastes buds were immediately greeted with a symphony of glazed succulent sweet goodness. Once again, The Wiggles strikes again... Alicia's carefully constructed wall of professionalism and business like mannerisms was shattered by her sweet tooth which doubled as her Achilles heel. "Mmmmm~" She closed her eyes, shutting of any visible distraction in order focus even more in the delectable sweet treat melting in her mouth. She opened her eyes, revealing a pair of stunning sapphire blue iris'. Once again, this jolly fellow was able to get Alicia to smile. "Mr.Wiggles... I think you and I are going to be very.... very good friends..." Alicia chuckled softly before finishing her doughnut. After few seconds of bliss, Alicia was able to finally finish the gifted treat. She cleared her throat as she wiped her mouth and then her hands with a clean handkerchief. "Ahem... right. To Join our ranks, you simply fill out the proper documents. Once the documents have been completed you will undergo an orientation. Once all of that is completed, you choose a branch you wish to join, then you collect your uniform..... then viola you're officially part of our ranks....technically." Alicia explained in the swiftness and most efficient way possible.

She paused for a moment. "If I do recall. You will also need some training for sorts... all of us have too... combat training and whatnot... but I'm sure you'll be more than capable Mr. Wiggles." Alicia gave Scully a comforting and welcoming smile. She softly clapped her hands together almost as if out of character of her. She excitedly gave a happy nod. "If you would follow me so we can get all of your proper documents sorted our Mr. Wiggles" Alicia chimed as she began to lead the new recruit towards the area where new recruits could fill out all of their documentations they required before joining. Alicia kept a moderate and casual pace, her hands in her pockets as she gave a nod of salutations to some fellow rune knights she recognized that were part of her squad. She would turn to Scully and asked him in a polite but curious manner. "Mr. Wiggles... if you do not mind me asking... what made you want to join our ranks? With your talents I'm sure you could have been a well sought out baker." Alicia mused half joking and half curious at the same time.

It was refreshing to see the expression on Alicia's face. Scully felt as if he had made a new friend with how she was savoring her treat. To be honest, he felt nervous giving these out since he had only been making these for a year and these are the only things he know how to make, worrying that people might get sick of them quickly. Thankfully tho, that wasn't the case and the sudden change on the woman's expressions and gestures made it him feel that it won't be happening anytime soon. Scully was also thankful for the opportunity to make Alicia smile twice now. He was hoping the same reaction will be had to everyone else he encountered who had a taste of the doughnut, but he would be reminded of the little incident at the port office in Hargeon where he had a gaseous incident. Fortunately though, it doesn't seem like that would happen again here. He would then be glad and excited at the thought of being friends with the fair lady with the captivating sapphire eyes. So much so that he could almost rush up to her and hug her tight, restraining himself only because this was the first time they met and she really had an air of professionalism about her that he found infectious and decided to maintain proper decorum as she did "Uhm. And I would very much like that." he replied as seriously as he could when Alicia commented about the possible friendship.

Clearing his throat and placing his arms behind him as best he could, Scully listened intently for the procedures he had to undergo to formally be a part of the Rune Knights. All of which sounded standard to him, ordinary things any law enforcement organization must have to ensure their people are up to the task, personally looking forward to the so called training as he has been a bit rusty, shaking his head in acknowledgement to all she said, ultimately smiling at her as he followed behind as she lead them to a place for recruits to settle their documents.

While there, Scully looked around excitedly and tried to see if there were any posted guides on how to do this seeing as he didn't want to take too much of Alicia's time. From what he could tell, she was a very prominent member of the organization as she was greeting a lot of people on their way. It was at this moment that she too asked her a question that he gave a jolly reply to. "The doughnuts and cooking I only picked up recently. The Rune Knights have been what I called home before it got messed up. I was hoping I can call it home again. his voice and tone becoming a bit more reminiscing at the end. Yet he did not forget to give her a jolly thanks for the compliment afterwards.

Alicia was glad that she was an instrument to welcome the new recruit. Alicia often wondered if her strict professionalism intimidated others, but it seemed with Scully this was not the case. Alicia quickly produced the paper works that Scully needed to fill out before he could be admitted into the ranks of the rune knights. Alicia briefly explained how to fill out said paperwork through a series of short and easily digestible sentences. Alicia double checked to see if all the paperwork needed was present, once she confirmed she gave a nod of approval. “If you would follow me Mr. Wiggles.” Alicia cheerfully chimed as she led Scully to a vacant table where Scully could take a seat and fill out the required paperwork in peace.

“Alright. Just fill out these papers, be sure to sign here and here. Read through it carefully, once you are done simply let me know and we’ll put you into the database. Once that’s all settled we’ll get your uniform and schedule you for a proper briefing and orientation.” Alicia casually twirled a pen in her hand before handing the pen to Scully. “If you’re confused on any of the documents just let me know.” Alicia gave Scully a pat on the back before stepping away to give him some space to concentrate. She took a seat and sat in an adjacent chair and patiently waited for her soon-to-be coworker to finish his paperwork.

As Alicia waited she focused her mana and summoned one of her requip weapons. It was a handgun, it was similar in shape to a Glock 19. The hand gun had a red dot sight attached with a suppressor equipped. The weapon was simple but functional, there were no other modifications. Alicia made sure the safety was on, she removed the magazine from the gun and checked it, the magazine was empty. She racked the gun to double check to make sure there wasn’t a round chambered in the weapon. The weapon was indeed empty. She then simply fiddled with her firearm simply reloading and loading the empty magazine, she did so facing towards the side, away from Scully. She continued practicing handling her firearm, the rhythmic clicks of the gun echoed in the room as the parts of the finely tuned instrument moved in it’s proper alignments.

The strong demeanor Alicia exuded was not at all off-putting. In fact, Scully welcomed it. Besides, he could tell that there was kindness in her heart, a gentle soul that was always showed a glimmer of itself in everything she did. However, even Scully knows there's a Yin and Yang to everyone. And he dared not experience the other half of Alicia when she's angry. They do say that people who are nice become the worst kind of people when they're angry. He followed her closely to the area where he is supposed to fill out his form, thanking her for all her gentle instructions and reminders after she had spoken.

The form itself was pretty standard issue, he has done this before, although the format of the form changed a bit, it still asked for the same things. The only thing he didn't know anything about was the Corps they made you choose. It made the Fat Man look up to the white-haired lady who had been playing with her gun. "Ah. A Glock." he happily remarked. Yes, he too knew his way around a gun, even from a look. Scully doesn't have any magic to use in situations, just the weird ethernano in his body that counter-act any other magical effect on him, and would ultimately cause him to slim down to a figure women find suitable to objectify. "You're handling that pretty well." he remarked at her gun work. Though to be fair, there is room for improvement, he always believe there always is but it was good handling. "Requipping Guns, huh?" he commented on her magic in a cool manner, trying not to look like a little bitch compared to an accomplished mage. But before they get side tracked any further, Scully's eyes would widened as he would remember why he even called Alicia's attention in the firs place. "Oh uhm, what are these Corps we gotta chose and what does each one mean?" he said.

"Ah... well... I prefer more analogue means of combat... I'm not gifted in the means of magecraft... and so I supplement my magic with technology and fire arms of sorts..." Alicia explained unashamed of her lack in talent when it came to the arcane. "... You can call my methods to something like requip of sorts... granted much of my arsenal is indeed fire arms... but I'm not limited to only fire arms... I can summon a variety of gadgets and accessories." Alicia mused as she she casually swapped the attachments of her gun almost instantly. The red dot was replaced with another set of digital sights, the suppressor swapped to a muzzle break, the gun was then suddenly equipped with a flash light, and the magazine was replaced with a extended mag. Alicia turned her unloaded gun showing Scully the firearm and its new attachments.

"Combat Corps, basically if you want to be on the streets and frontlines of the force. Engineering Corps, for the creative and intelligent, they specialize in research and development. Special Operations... well, if the combat corps are likened to a hammer, well the spec ops are more akin to a surgical knife... we dabble in finer details... we are called when for missions that require a more covert touch... if you catch my drift." Alicia explain, as she summoned a digital tablet. She slid the tablet to Scully and on the tablet was a more detailed explanation of each branch of the Rune Knights and what they specialize in. "I'd recommend reading up on it, but don't worry about it too much, you can freely switch to another branch if you find your current branch don't suit your style" Alicia explained in a calm collected manner.
