Aletheia Lux, known to few as the Prism, heaved a quiet sigh as she stepped into the fabled town of Ace of Spades, home of the Fioran wizard guild Sabertooth. At first, she was overwhelmed by the size of the town, and how many people there were. Her former home, the Chromeria, had been tiny, no more than a third the size of Ace of Spades. And no more than about a hundred people had lived there. This town housed what seemed like thousands.

Instinctively, Thea drafted a bit of superviolet, pulling the light into her body and shrouding herself in the near-emotionless mental state of the color. It helped shield her from the uncertainty, the hesitation, and the helplessness she felt upon entering this unfamiliar place. It also had the side effect of giving her prismatic eyes, constantly shifting color, and pale skin a subtle glow.

Thus buffered, Thea began walking through the town with a steady pace, heading towards the castle on the hill. According to her information, that was where she would be the most likely to find a wizard of Sabertooth and seek entrance to the guild. As she wove through the populace of the town, her remote, almost cold expression, coupled with her hypnotic eyes and the subtle glow hovering around her, caused the townspeople to hurriedly get out of the way of the white-haired young woman.

Upon reaching the castle, Thea faltered, losing her grip on the superviolet. The uncertainty was too much to hold back. She had no idea where she was or what she was doing here. She knew she wanted to join a wizard guild to help her get away from the Chromeria, and she'd decided on Sabertooth, as their ideals of selflessness and conviction neatly lined up with hers. But now that she was here, she didn't know how to proceed. She was utterly lost, both metaphorically and literally.

Thea was wandering aimlessly through the entrance hall of the castle when a feminine voice addressed her. She turned to see a young Joyan woman with cyan hair and cerulean eyes wearing a very interesting seafoam and shamrock green dress with white ruffles. She could tell the dress was fairly new, as it was only two tones off from true white, but spent a lot of time outside, as the greens were a touch desaturated by the sunlight.

Thea's gaze tracked back up to the woman's face, and - oh Light. Something was wrong. The way her cat-like ears moved. The way her eyes moved. Her stance, her body language, the way her mouth didn't open when she spoke, the way the air shimmered slightly around her. A dozen little things all added up to two realizations at once - this woman was both blind and mute, and was somehow using her magic to overcome both.

Thea physically recoiled back half a pace at the realization, horrified. Her magic, her life, her very identity - all revolved around the use of her eyes. The idea of not being able to see was appalling to her. She could not imagine a life lived without sight.

Her second reaction was a sudden outpouring of compassion and empathy, and she found herself quickly stepping forward and embracing the young woman. "Oh, you poor thing..." she said softly. In response to this onrush of empathy, Thea's eyes turned a brilliant orange and settled there for a few moments, even as she pulled away from the hug. "How did it happen?" she asked.

Before she could receive an answer, another voice came from behind her and she turned, her eyes once again spinning through colors. The new woman had crimson hair and emerald eyes, the contrast between them quite appealing. But a scar crossed her left eye, at which Thea winced slightly.

"Hello there." she replied. On second glance, the new woman had the mark of Sabertooth on her fair skin, and the Joyan had welcomed Thea to Sabertooth. "You are both Sabertooth Wizards?"

Thea tilted her head in confusion at what the woman named Sarah said, then flushed deep red, her eyes spinning to yellow and staying there for a brief moment. She hurriedly pulled away from the Joyan girl, Velvet, and readjusted her plain white dress.

Yes, I'm... I'm here to join Sabertooth. I'm a wizard." she said, rather quickly, deciding to just brush over what Sarah had implied. She vaguely knew what was being hinted at, but had exactly no experience with it, and wasn't sure how to handle this situation.
