Job: The Creepy Orphanage
Rank: S
Player Requirements: 1 - 3 S-rank mages, 200 words per post, 25 post per player. Each player has to at least roll the monster dice 8 times.
Job Requirements: One S-rank at least, not lower then A-rank
Job Description:
An orphanage just a little while outside Clover Town holds an terrible secret. It is being run by an ancient witch, who uses the children in experiments to find a suitable host body. The children who fail the experiment are left with a corrupted mind. The mayor of Clover Town suspects that this orphanage is not as it seems to be and has asked for any mage or mages to help him investigate the place. Little does anyone know of what truly goes on in that orphanage...
Enemies:
Weak: 4 Deranged children (B-ranked)
Despite their fragile-looking figures, these kids are far from weak. They are heavily infused with the witch's magic, greatly improving their physical capabilities in exchange for their sanity. As a result, they have a 75% resistance to all magic and a 50% resistance to non-magical attacks. It takes 3 B-ranked hits to take them down.
Normal: 2 Otherworldly Beings (Unknown rank; encountered 5 per post within the Unknown Place)
Some kind of inhuman apparitions that exist on a different level, thus are above the human being's ability to comprehend. All one can make out of them is that they appear to be an ever-changing body of unidentified and undefined substance which gives off immense magical energy, or at least something that feels like it. They are hostile and absolutely impervious to any kind of attack, so the means to their defeat are unknown. Perhaps you would be able to figure it out? Regardless, they deal A-ranked damage per hit.
Strong: Humanoid Spirits (Unknown rank; encountered 5 per post within the Unknown Place)
Much like the Otherworldly Beings, they are incomprehensible apparitions that exist on a different level than humans, but the difference is that the Spirits have had their idea defined, so it is possible to partially understand what they are. Beings that may have once been human - or part of one - which roam the orphanage's many maze-like halls. They seem to be able to interact with physical object if they desire it, despite their otherwise permanent intangibility, which suggests that the only time to attack them is when they attack you. It also seems that despite interacting with physical objects directly, they seem to affect their souls, so any attacks they land against mages bypass any form of resistances they might have, as the attacks wound directly the soul. These attacks can not be healed forcibly, only through natural restoration of the body and spirit which can only be boosted via deep meditation. Each Humanoid Spirit fights via different means, but the one common trait among them is that they all use attacks that are melee ranged and deal S-ranked damage per hit.
Boss: The Witch (SS-rank)
A woman who always appears dressed differently. Very little is known about her, but through the aura you feel from her one thing is for sure; she has been dabbling with things no one should. It takes 12 S-ranked damages to take her down.
ABILITIES:
Mass Confusion (S-rank): By speaking a single word in an unknown language, the witch causes everyone in a 15 metre radius to be completely confused for 2 posts, causing any attacks they may try to do be aimed not at her, but at something or someone else. 4 posts cool-down.
From the Other Side (S-rank): The woman causes what appears to be a portal to open behind her out of which a massive ghostly skeleton hand shoots out and tries to grab an enemy of its summoner. If it does so successfully, it deals S-rank damage and throws the one caught into the most dangerous thing nearby, dealing another A-ranked magical damage plus any damage the thing one is thrown into may cause. Unknown cool-down, is there even any?
Children of the Beyond (S-rank): The Witch opens 4 gateways around herself from which either Humanoid Spirits or Otherworldly Beings emerge. They will do absolutely everything possible to prevent mages from reaching their mistress. These gateways are opened once every 3 posts.
Glimpse (S-rank): She inflicts visions of death and spiritual demise upon her target, causing them to be incapable of actions more complex than walking for 3 posts, also causing B-ranked mental damage per post. It seems to have a 6 posts cool-down.
Yearning (A-rank): The witch exhibits capabilities to open an undefined number of small gateways from which skeletal arms sprout. She uses this both for attack and defence and it does not appear there is a limit to how much she can use this; or how many times at once. If she uses such arms to block incoming attacks, they can resist up to A-rank damage before breaking.
Within the Passageway: Ever-expanding Road (S-rank): This is an ability which activates once she suffers 6 S-ranked damages. The witch seems to start fading away slowly, but at the same time gains an incomprehensible amount of power. As a result, all her spells become H-ranked and no longer have a cool-down, and she herself becomes invincible, but at the same time suffers A-ranked damage per post until she fades away completely. Once she does die, for a brief time a gateway to an Unknown Place will be opened. Perhaps in there one may find out what the truth behind all of this is... but who knows what kind of monstrosities one might encounter there?
Note that within the Unknown Place, the encounters other than Humanoid Spirits and Otherworldly Beings are left for the players to create, but must all be at least S-rank. Players must spend at least 20 posts within the Unknown Place if they are to discover the truth.
Reward: 80,000 Jewels each. If the truth behind what the witch was doing is discovered, an extra 20,000 jewels are rewarded, as well as a Legendary weapon.
