Special Characteristics: Cat ears and tail. She is blind with the exception of people's auras. Her hearing is exceptional though, as if to make up for her lack of sight.

Personality: A warm heart and a warmer smile are the first two things people will say about Velvet; despite her difficulties in life thus far, the young Joyan woman still has an undeniable lust for life and cares deeply for all of those around her, for better or for worse. This kindness has sadly been taken advantage of on many an occasion, but she is still far too willing to forgive. This naivety has given many people cause for concern, and many others to steer clear as they feel the girl invites trouble upon herself.

Velvet's lust for life is overshadowed only by her lust for dancing; thanks to the one who took her in, Velvet was able to learn to express herself through the combination of magic and motion. By the time she was in her teens she was considered a dancing prodigy and danced on stages around parts of Fiore for the public. It was during this time in particular that she learned fell in love with the idea of lifting people's spirits through her own medium, and helped her to better understand the world around her - even if she still remains somewhat ignorant to the darker side of the world.

It's needless to say that Velvet doesn't enjoy fighting. She would prefer to find a peaceful solution to everything in the world but even she isn't naive enough to think everything can be solved in that way. Whilst she may not often try to harm an opponent herself, she is more than happy to play a support role and help her allies out where she can. Her magic also allows her to keep track of things in ways that other's can't, being able to scope out the battlefield and pinpoint weaknesses. In this manner she would make a great commander in a large-scale battle, but only if given enough time to feel the landscape.

Likes:

• Dancing is an important part of Velvet's life, so of course it's something she thoroughly enjoys. Even when alone, the thrill of dancing, the feeling that the world around her doesn't exist for a few moments, is untouchable.
  
  
• Velvet loves a good storm. As she can't see it, she instead can feel it; the release of the tension in the air, the sound of the thunder reverberating through everything around her, the feeling of the rain on her skin. It reminds her that, in spite of everything, she is alive.
  
  
• Cakes are awesome! There is nothing better than munching on a cake made with love. Or any other cake for that matter.
  

Dislikes:

• Being blind kind of sucks. She doesn't know what it's like to actually be able to see so she doesn't have a comparison to make, but when people describe things to her she can't help but feel a little down about it.
  
  
• Velvet hates being alone. It's fine for short periods of time, or when sleeping, but being alone means silence and silence is terrifying when you can't see.
  
  
• As a cruel twist of fate, Velvet dislikes alcohol. Not necessarily the drinking part, but the fact it leaves her disorientated. If she's among friends then she feels safer but otherwise she steers well clear of the stuff.
  
  

Motivations:

• Dancing motivates Velvet like nothing else; the freedom of movement, the expression she can portray and the hope she can give the people through her art. Nothing compares to that feeling that, despite her disability, she is still alive.
  
  
• Velvet hopes to one day find those who took her in and took care of her when she was at her most vulnerable, and intends to pay back that date in some way.
  
  
• Velvet hopes to eventually find somewhere new to call home; she lost her tribe a long time ago as a blind huntress is no good at all, and those who took care of her disappeared without a trace.
  

Fears:

• Velvet is terrified of losing her hearing. With her lack of sight, her hearing is the only thing that allows her to dance freely without fear of falling, as she can hear the movement of things around her.
  
  
• If Velvet were ever to lose her magic then she'd lose an extension of herself; she uses her magic to feel the world around her and, without it, she'd be even more blind.
  
  
• There are some out there that use magic for evil and while many could see those people with ease, Velvet cannot. Many times she has been close to an evildoer and been fortunate enough to have someone nearby to steer her clear of danger. It is for this reason that she always tries to remain in areas close to friends or those that she can trust.
