It was high noon and one of the Moore family cargo ships was finally reaching the biggest harbor in Tolgalen. The sound of the seagulls gathered around the seaboats and the indistinct chatter of the people could be heard from the distance. The voyage until here was very quiet which made Joe increasingly frustrated to the point that he couldn't take it anymore "Why am I being forced out of my house and away from everyone?" Joe yelled while flailing around on the bow of the ship where he was lying for the past few hours. Seeing that, a man sitting further in the back stood up and approached him. "Young master please behave yourself. A son of a noble family such as yourself should know better than to create a scene. Especially in the family's workplace surrounded by your father's employees. You don't want any more unsavory rumors to start spreading around about you, right?" It was Alfred, the family butler, tasked to escort Joe to the gates of the West Fiore Trading Company guild. "But Alfred it wasn't my fault. I tried my best to suppress Him, but I couldn't. The seal on my eyepatch didn't work either. I am the Chosen One. I have the Dark Lord sealed inside me. My family should be celebrating me not sending me away. Why am I being punished for something He did? It's unfair." Joe continued whining while the ship docked to the port. "Please conserve your energy young master. We might have reached the harbor but the guild is still a few hours ahead of us. A carriage should be waiting for us when we get off." When Alfred gathered the few belongings they brought with them they both disembarked and headed for the carriage.
The carriage was old looking and patched up here and there. It had definitely seen better days. A single horse was dragging it and Alfred was driving it. He rented it this was because nobody outside of the family was supposed to know about their destination. That was also the reason why they got to Tolgalen in one of the family's cargo ships instead of a passenger ship. They even got new clothes for this trip that was shrouded in secrecy. Alfred's clothes were plain like any ordinary civilian. Joe's on the other hand were more formal and white in colour, the trademark of people working for the West Fiore Trading Company, but they weren't made from the expensive silk fabric all his other clothes at home were and the family sigil that was usually sewn on the jacket on top of the heart was nowhere to be seen. The ride to the guild was uneventful which gave Joe plenty of time to reminisce how he got into this mess.
It was looking like a day like most others on the Moore family mansion. Joe, who as usual was ignored by mostly everyone, was pestering his father hoping for a little bit of attention. This day however wasn't the same. Joe's father had just received via letter some bad news and was trying to figure out how to best handle his situation. Joe's unrelenting badgering made his father furious who in turn started yelling at Joe telling him how he doesn't take his position seriously and how he wastes his time playing make-believe around the house. Joe couldn't take the verbal abuse anymore and simply cracked, releasing a wave of magical energy that knocked down his father and all the furniture in the room, broke the windows and cracked the walls while screaming from the top of his lungs and with tears in his eyes "STOP YELLING AT ME". When his father got back to his feet Joe, who now had an evil grin on his face, was ready to attack him. Thankfully his older brother, who rushed to the scene, put Joe to sleep by delivering a swift strike to the back of his neck. When Joe regained consciousness his father had already decided to send Joe at a guild in order for him to grow up, learn about responsibility and hopefully how to control these outbursts.
"What are you thinking so hard about young master? You didn't even realize that we arrived already. Get yourself together. You need to make a good first impression to your new guildmates." Alfred's words brought Joe back to reality. Before he realized it he was already facing his new home for the foreseeable future. However that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Joe had the opportunity to prove himself here and make everyone, even his father, acknowledge him. This was also the time to make some real friends unlike that one maid who was the only one willing to play with him at the mansion. As he walked through the door he said in a loud voice. "Get ready West Fiore Trading Company the Chosen One, Joe M..." He couldn't finish his sentence when he felt a pain to the top of his head. It was Alfred that hit him, pulled him aside and then leaned in and whispered to Joe's ear with a serious and intimidating voice "Remember your father's words very carefully young master. You aren't Joe Moore anymore. From today onwards you will be known as Moorjos. You can stay and work here if you want or you can look for another place yourself. But remember that you aren't welcome to the mansion until you prove that you can contribute to the family. The West Fiore Trading Company is a prestigious merchant guild and you should aim to become one of the top members here in order to create strong ties with the Moore family. Don't disappoint the family again or the consequences will be severe." After Alfred said his final words he simply stood up went to the carriage and left without even saying goodbye. Joe used his sleeve to wipe the few drops of tears that formed on his eyes walked to the reception desk and simply said "Hello. I am looking to become a member here. My name is Moorjos."
