- Gimmick:
Name:
Invisus
Rank:
Weak Item
Type:
Ring
Description:
A man of dubious morals once commissioned a mage specializing in magic item creation for several rings. He never specified what he wanted them for, but it appears he’s given them out at some point over the years. Invisibility is granted to whoever places this ring on their finger, but like all things, there’s a price to be paid. The man altered the rings, corrupting them for reasons unknown. With extended use, the wearer is haunted by a shadowy spirit while going unseen. The spirit slowly encroaches with each passing moment until they can touch the wearer.
Should this happen, a purple symbol will appear on the wearer, and once they become visible again, their personality will twist drastically for the worst. Some even become violent, but thankfully the effects are temporary. A small price to pay for a backup escape plan, right?
Abilities:
Name: Caecus Corrumpere
Description: Giving the ring a twist on the finger will activate the purple stone, igniting ancient runes carved into the band and releasing a dark aura. The user and one other person, should they be touching someone, will slip immediately out of sight. As long as neither person uses even a shred of their magic power, they will remain completely imperceptible to other beings, though not invulnerable. If used for longer than sixty seconds, the shadowy creature only seen while invisible will touch the user and temporarily corrupt their personality. [The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on or against a player character, a player-owned NPC or an Event NPC]

Ever felt intense fear when you know you're in danger? That icy cold shiver that goes down your spine? That sensation is created by the god Boreas. He created it as a defense mechanism for all creatures. Fear keeps us cautious. Fear keeps us alive.
But fear also feeds Boreas. The emotion provides a source of energy for him. Creatures will always feel fear, so he will always have energy. However, he became greedy. He craved more fear, more energy for himself. It was his drug and he was addicted. So he began to abuse the power of fear. Day and night he would terrorize any being he could find, showing them their worst nightmares and drinking in their delicious fear. The thrill of the hunt and the terror feeding frenzy spurred him on. It was never enough. Thus, he decided to create a lacrima of his magic for someone to use. They would be an extension of his powers, creating and consuming fear to fuel him and themselves.

Eater of Dreams
Wielder:
[Insert Character Name here]
Proof of purchase:
[Insert link to purchase post]
Description:
One thing that is prevalent in the majority of Earthland's population is dreams, and indeed, this curious psychological phenomenon is prevalent in the minds of most individuals and beings: A key to one's subconsciousness, inner thoughts, and deepest desires. Dreams are able to tap into parts of people they didn't even know existed, which is what makes the ability to manipulate and enter them a most terrifying power. Over the ages, there have been stories and tales of demons that lurk in dreams, turning them into nightmares and feeding off their hosts, bearing names such as Baku, Night Hag, Batibat and even, the notorious Sandman. It is said that some form of sinister beings are able to slip into to minds of their dozing victims, rifling their restful minds with a dream of their choosing, all-the-while draining their life force and magical energy when doing so, and from each host, claiming a snippet of their power for their own by eating the dreams it manifests. They accumulate monstrous levels of power until finally, they slip into a mind that it cannot escape. Trapped in their new host, this person feeds off the demonic essence and has claimed its dark power for their own.
Abilities:
☽ Dreamcaster ☾
So much magical power and lifeforce have been absorbed during the Dreameater's existence that it has been able to harness and alter the energy to create a new type of magic entirely. Magic that only its kind is able to wield, made entirely of a millennia's worth of its victim's dreams and nightmares. This dark magic is frightfully powerful and quite difficult to control. This user gains access to a new magic type called "Dreamcaster" and is able to use this magic type to create new magics embedded with this magic type. Dreamcaster type magic is the manipulation of all the power accumulated from the dreams eaten by the demon and released into the magics of its new host. This magic type is a much more powerful version of Ancient, Caster and Lost with benefits unique to the wielder. The benefit levels for Dreamcaster Magic are specified below:- Solitary: +50% to MP Cost Reduction, +50% to Spell Damage, +3 posts to max spell durations
- Primary: +30% to MP Cost Reduction, +30% to Spell Damage, +2 posts to max spell durations
- Auxiliary: +15% to MP Cost Reduction, +15% to Spell Damage, +1 posts to max spell durations
☽ Sweet Dreams are made of this ☾
Able to manipulate the minds of those who seek to pay for their work, the wielder is able to earn greater rewards from the jobs they do, not least due to the ability to sweeten their deals through cognitive manipulation. This ability gives the user a 100% increase to all jewel rewards from jobs they complete. Alternatively, this perk can be split with others in their job, for a 50% increase to all jewel reward from the job they have completed to all those who complete the job along with the user.
☽ Dream Hunter ☾
The accumulation of energy and life force over time has exposed the Dream eater to many magics over its existence, and as such, permits its wielder to use an expanded repertoire of magical knowledge to manipulate and control. As a result, the user gains an additional advanced spell slot for one of their magics that ranks with them up to H+ rank. Further, the user also gains the ability to sacrifice one of their H rank spell slots within one of their magic to gain an H+ advanced spell slot within the same magic. Additionally, the user also gains 3 additional user rank spell slots for one of their magics which rank with them up to S rank. All of these additional spell slots, regardless of the spell type, will have a hazy energy that lingers around them and leave the victims feeling slightly drowsy when struck.
☽ Ultimate Nightmare ☾
Once the wielder of this Lineage has reached H Rank, they gain the ability to unleash this dark spell once per thread. Accumulating all of the nightmares that have been eaten over the centuries, it releases the energy in a massive burst. This burst of damage deals 1.5x H+ Burst Damage, moving at H+ Burst speed and up to burst range for a duration of one post. As Dream Eaters are able to break into the minds of those their magic comes into contact with this spell can not only pierce through any defensive spell, including those that cannot otherwise be pierced, it will also immobilize anyone it comes into contact for one post, sending them into their version of the 'ultimate nightmare', momentarily filling their minds with visions of their greatest fears and untold horrors that emanating from their own inner darkness [Requires OOC permission for mind-altering and fear to be used on Players, player-owned NPCs and Event NPCs]. Additionally, this spell, nor its effects cannot be negated by any magic whatsoever and is not affected by counter-effects.
☽ Astral Dimensions ☾
The wielder of this lineage is able to create an overlap between the real world and dreamscapes. As a result, once per thread, they can affect the surrounding area with their dream magic, the space around them becomes hazy and vibrant with dreamlike lucidity. This stretches out for User Rank AoE range (Capped at H Rank) and activates at User Rank AoE speed (Capped at H Rank). Whilst this does not deal damage, anyone within the range of the spell will receive a user rank active debuff to both their movement speed and spell speed, whilst the wielder and the allies of the wielder receive a user rank active buff to both their movement speed and spell speed. This ability lasts for the user ranked max duration (Capped at H Rank) and is able any to pierce any shield. The wielder themselves will also receive a base increase to their movement and spell speed of 50% each although this increase is passive.

- Mythical - Claimed by LibertyGear:
Name:
Inpurus
Rank:
Mythical Weapon
Type:
Sword
Proof of purchase:
[Insert link to purchase post]
Description:
The dark steel of this blade has a history and quite the memory. At first glance, it just seems like an average, albeit edgy magical sword. Once upon a time, it was shiny and new, light and brimming with holy magic. It belonged to a paladin newly blessed by the god of righteousness. This was a time of turmoil though, with many declaring themselves Kings, claiming land, gathering residents and armies, fighting wars to settle power and ownership. This sword went by a different, long-forgotten name back then. No matter how much blood it spilled, its intentions were pure and it was never stained.
Now, pale blue runes glow balefully, scrawled into the metal by the desperate hands of the dying paladin it served so faithfully. With his last breath, he betrayed the god he served for the extra strength to finish the fight, sacrificing everything for his king. And indeed, he gained it, though he never saw it. His body was taken over by the restless, vengeful spirit of a fallen knight. No longer possessing corporeal form or confined to the limits of humanity, the shadow knight embodied dark energy itself to claim every life on the battlefield. Once all life was snuffed out and he’d corrupted the souls released, the spirit left the paladin’s dead body and took refuge inside the sword.- Plot Abilities:
Dark Crowning: The longer the user wields this sword, the darker their thoughts get and the more vicious their fighting style becomes. An ethereal crown of darkness slowly appears on their head and they can always see, even in the pitch black. They also become aware more and more of shadowy beings looming in the shadows, crying out in eternal anguish and trying in vain to drag their tendril fingers down living flesh. It seems there is a kingdom of darkness made of lives this sword has ended. Can you keep your wits about you long enough to bend them to your will? [The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on a player character, a player-owned NPC, or an Event NPC]

Tome of Corruption
Rank:
Special Item
Type:
Grimoire
Proof of purchase:
[Insert link to purchase post]
Description:
Throughout the existence of magic, mages have resorted to collecting and archiving their magical findings throughout the ages in various records. The Tome of Corruption was a grimoire commissioned by the Magic Council to document and index any discoveries of black magic and dark curses created throughout history. The Author of this Grimoire managed to gather hundreds of spells and curses created by various mages over time, however, after a while, he began to notice something strange. The book itself began to radiate its own dark power, and with each new entry, its own curse would manifest, growing stronger. The book itself began to curse those the Author came into contact with, and it was this that caused the Author to decide that this book could no longer exist. Instead of returning it to the Magic Council, he attempted to destroy it. However, no matter what he tried, the book would return to him, reappearing seemingly untouched. In an act of desperation, the Author even sank to the level of using a dark curse to attempt to send the book into the void where it could no longer bring harm to anyone.
Unfortunately for the Author, this would backfire tragically as the book would reverse the spell onto him. Opening up a giant portal of dark energy in its centre, it would absorb the Author into its pages, extinguishing his existence and taking his life force for its own. It was after this event that the book went missing, lost through time only to be rediscovered recently and falling into the hands of a new owner. Whenever the owner of this book comes into contact with new dark magic, they are compelled to write it into its pages, adding to its mass collection of dark archives.
Abilities:
Plot Ability: Pages of Void
The owner of the book may open up the same dark vortex that swallowed its original Author. A giant black hole opens up on the cover, swirling ferociously and emanating a dark black smoke. This spells sucks in everything that is living, cursing it into the void, anything pulled in will have its lifeforce drained into the pages, fuelling the book's power. (Requires OOC Permission to be used on Players, player-owned NPCs, and Event NPCs)

The entire of the area around the user will turn completely black, so black that it's near impossible to see anything unless you are the owner of the book, who is unaffected by the magic. Anyone cloaked in this darkness will be trapped by its power of dark magic, immobilized once every other post for as long as they remain in the ability's range, provided the ability hits them before every immobilization. Additionally, any targets trapped in this spell will receive User Rank Advanced Burst Damage and have their speed debuffed by 115% for the spell's duration. If the spell comes it into contact with shields, armors, or barriers, it will pierce through, albeit at the cost of 50% of its base damage. On top of this, if a spell has been cast within its range, the darkness can eradicate one spell per post, granted that the user pays the equivalent mana for the spells negation. Furthermore, the spell negated must be of the ability's rank or lower.

- Special - Claimed by Amalie:
Name:
Tormentia
Rank:
Special Item
Type:
Mask
Proof of purchase:
[Insert link to purchase post]
Description:
No one is quite sure where this mask has come from or how it became what it is today, though the fact is obvious that this particular item shares a resemblance with two other items of a similar kind, with all three exuding a similarly oppressive and corrupted magical aura that seems to concentrate on different aspects of negative emotions. It is understood that, while Miseria feeds off of feelings of inadequacy and anxiety, and Tragoedia feeds off of feelings of anger and wrath, Tormentia siphons feelings of guilt and regret from its user, much like its siblings liberating the person who wears the mask from those emotions while projecting them outward, seemingly designed for a single and just that single purpose only: To cause suffering.
The mask, through some force or existence, has been corrupted from a normal thing, not even possessing any inherent magical power in the first place, into what it has become now, embodying the torment and pain the user has gone through. The sheer fact that this mask even exists, no, the sheer fact that three of these masks exist is a terrifying revelation, an insight into the nature of emotions and just how much power they can wield, with some speculating that the sheer strength of the emotions their wielders have felt has caused the appearance of these things and that, indeed, not the user sought out and acquired the mask, no, that the mask has chosen its wielder, a source to exercise their powers and influence the world.
Once the mask is put on, it will extinguish those same emotions. Reservation, guilt, regret, pain, will fade away into nothing, almost as if they had never been there, consumed by the mask and infusing it with tremendous power. As the user, though, influences the mask, it is believed that the mask influences the user. To what capacity is unknown, though it wouldn't be surprising if it altered their perception, or even, in the most terrifying of cases, took control of the wielder's actions, the user relinquishing all restraint and caution in order to force their emotions on those around them, to, in effect, cause devastation, suffering, pain, and death, all the while being shrouded in an aura that burns with sheer magical intensity, appearing to almost fire in nature and filling those around with an instinctual, primal sense of dread and fear.
With the emergence of a third mask, the presence of these items can neither be denied nor ignored. The powers they hold are very much real, and their origin, while shrouded in mystery, is something that has been called into question. There can be no way to be sure, to confirm that the stories are true without studying the masks, but the fact that they exist alone presents a disturbing case. If you encounter one of these masks being used ... it would seem that your options, apart from the grasp of fear gradually overtaking your mind, are slim. Be wary of the masks. Be afraid of the secrets they hold.
Abilities:
Name: Agonia
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Passive
Description: The mask utilizes concepts that are prevalent in the wearer, presenting a barrier between their sense of self and the outside world, in a sense, acting as a layer of protection while, at the same time, integrating seamlessly into the wearer's being and, by extension, magic. By fueling its own magical capabilities, it also bestows some of these capabilities to the user, granting them a 50% increase to both their MP and HP passively.
Name: Angoria
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Passive
Description: Shrouding the user's senses in a dull haze when worn, the mask, while not doing much to conceal the wearer's identity, serves to numb the user's emotions, memories, even personality, removing feelings such as pain, guilt, and regret that could possibly wear the user down or hold them back, filling them with a feeling of subtle euphoria. While the emotional influence is the most obvious factor, the mask's influence also seeps into the user's magic, reinforcing it considerably and strengthening it to the user's benefit. This grants the user a passive increase of 200% to both their spell durability and their spell damage. Further, the user's magic also carries with it another purpose, though, the emotions consumed and suppressed by the mask forced outward by it, instilling within the user the notion to destroy, their magic reflecting the change, which grants the user a passive 50% base increase to spell damage as well.
Name: Interita
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Passive
Description: The mask, even among its siblings, is unique in what it can accomplish and what powers it grants its wielder, not just in terms of the emotions it is assigned control over, but also the determination and power it inspires within its wielder, a power so strong that they may temporarily exceed the limits of regular magic. The wielder of the mask can, once every 3 posts, cast a single spell or ability they have used in the same post again, effectively allowing them to cast a given spell or ability twice in one post. The recasting of the spell does not cost MP. When casting a spell or ability again, however, the affected spell or ability and the new spell or ability immediately end their duration once the post is over, all associated effects being cancelled. The original spell or ability along with the newly cast spell or ability will enter a cooldown period of 3 posts in which the spell or ability in question cannot be activated again, and only once the cooldown is over can the spell or ability in question be used again. This ability can apply to any of the user's spells or abilities with the sole exception of this ability itself.
Name: Coerctia
Rank: S+ (Unlocks at S rank)
Category: Defensive
Type: Single Target, Negation
Durability: 1,000 HP
Range: Self
Speed: Self
Duration: 9
Downside: Costs 300 MP to cast. Unaffected by decreases to spell cost
Description: Focussing, the user extends a hand, an ethereal aura of azure blue appearing in a circular radius immediately around their body, almost appearing like blazing fire, flickering and burning with pulsing magical power. The flames automatically move to intercept incoming spells, protecting the user and their form as if they had a mind on their own. While unstable, the fiery aura makes up for it in raw strength, thus being able to automatically negate the first spell that comes into contact with it every post without paying MP, the spell or ability in question being seemingly scorched and burned away entirely by a relentless blaze of azure fire. Only spells or abilities of S rank or lower are affected by this.
Name: Ruina
Rank: H+ (Unlocks at H rank)
Category: Offensive
Type: Single Target, Burst, Debuff, HP Drain, MP Drain
Damage: 400 HP
Range: 1,000 m (ST) | 500 m (Burst)
Speed: 1,000 m/s (ST) | 500 m/s (Burst)
Duration: 25
Downside: Costs 300 MP to cast. Unaffected by decreases to spell cost
Description: While the masks overwhelming aura can be used for defense as well, the user can choose to coalesce the blue flame around them into one of their hands once per post for the duration of this ability. Increasing in its raging intensity, the flames are collected before being shaped into a projectile of blidning glow and immense magical energy, which is fired at a target or an area within the ability's Single Target range at the ability's Single Target speed. Upon impact, the projectile explodes with raging ferocity, the azure fire of the explosion that swallows everything in its path seemingly acting with the will to destroy. The explosion encompasses an area equal to the ability's Burst range around the point of the projectile's impact, the explosion travelling at the ability's Burst speed. Everyone and everything caught in this explosion will be subjected to extreme heat and flame that doesn't distinguish between friend or foe, good or bad, and simply incinerates all in a roaring inferno. Those who survive this explosion, however, also have to endure the consequences of the ability, which sets affected targets alight with blue flame that lasts for the ability's duration and inflicts a 200% debuff to both strength and speed while burning away 5% HP and MP every post for the ability's duration. These flames cannot be extinguished by any means, cannot be negated, and are un-affected by counter-effects to both debuffs or drains, and will keep burning until the duration of the ability ends or the ability is cancelled prematurely.

Description:
Eons ago, at the start of the universe, before the evolution of man, gods facilitated the birth of angels and demons. One of the first of these was Amittai. Where other demons prided themselves on strength and power to advance themselves through their vicious pantheon, Amittai took the road less traveled. He understood that fear was a more intricate and deadly tool than his brethren gave it credit for, and rather than ascribing to brute force to get his way he instead learned to look into the hearts and minds of his targets to draw upon the self-made darknesses within them.
He became a formidable force that even the gods themselves grew wary of, his very presence bringing to life misfortune in the shape of the things that they were most afraid of. It was as though he could merely glance at them and know the terrors that kept them awake, and once he set his discerning gaze upon you it was only a matter of time before those nightmares would become reality. He was an infectious curse, they said, one that would someday be beyond the control of any living creature if he was left to his own devices.
Through a wicked plot schemed between the gods, angels, and even other demons who feared him most, Amittai was brought to his demise. Or, so they thought. But their dread of him lingered even after his death, feeding his eternal soul. No one, even the gods, knows exactly how he managed to overcome death, but after only a few millennia he was once again seen roaming the cosmos, his body decayed to nothing but the skeleton of his former self, dead but somehow still alive. Knowing they could never truly destroy him, they combined their magic to banish him to the mortal realm, where he has since wandered through the evolution of man and magic, spreading the seeds of his curse … and patiently gaining more and more power from the darkness and terror in the hearts of humanity.
Abilities:
Name: Insurmountable Terror
Rank: User Rank (Up to H)
Category: Offensive
Type: Burst, Drain, Immobilization, Piercing
Damage: User Rank Burst Damage
Range: User Rank Burst Range
Speed: User Rank Burst Speed

Description: Amittai emits a cloud of darkness that draws out the deepest, most paralyzing fears of all who surround him, sending them into a state of blind panic and siphoning them of life. At lower levels, this ability drains any target within his burst range of 5% of their HP up to once per round of the spell’s duration that the target continues to be affected by the spell. Starting at A rank, targets who are caught in his aura suffer from immobilization for one post, and may continue to experience immobilization effects up to once every other turn should they continue to be hit by it. At H rank, this spell is able to pierce through shields, allowing its effects to take hold at the cost of only dealing 50% of the spell’s max damage. As this spell is a form of mind control driven by fear and hallucinations, it is only usable on PCs and player-owned NPCs with expressed OOC permission.
Name: Sanity Snap
Rank: User Rank Advanced (Up to H+)
Category: Offensive
Type: Single Target, Burst, Charge, Buff, Regen, Teleport
Damage: User Rank Advanced Single Target Damage
Range: User Rank Advanced Single Target Range
Speed: User Rank Advanced Single Target Speed
Duration: 5
Description: Turning his gaze upon his victim, Amittai meticulously searches their heart and mind to find the source and nature of their deepest terrors before using it to deliver a crushing blow in the form of a ray of darkness from his fingertip. This is a charged ability, the damage building up starting at 50% of single target damage. The damage continues to charge up to an additional 50% of the max damage per turn until the cap of 2.5x user rank advanced single target damage has been reached on the 5th post after the ability's activation, at which time Amittai releases his attack for the full amount of damage. Additionally, the lethality of Amittai’s spell damage is increased by a percentage equal to the user’s advanced rank buff cap upon the ability's activation. At A+ rank, this spell gains an additional effect of allowing Amittai to regenerate his health at a max of 5% per turn as he feeds off the target’s inner fears. At H+ rank, he is so in tune with the fear of his target that he is physically drawn to it, allowing him to teleport up to once per turn within user rank advanced burst range to get closer to his target and make it harder for them to outrun him.
Plot Ability: Amittai can look at any living being, whether mortal or immortal, and know the intimate details of all the things they fear. The target need not be actively conscious of those fears, meaning that he can still understand what terrifies them even if they have not yet worked those fears out in their own minds. This ability can only be used on PCs, player-owned NPCs, and Event NPCs with explicit OOC permission.
