Aven listened with one brow cocked. So, they weren't just your average street thugs... He wouldn't have guessed, by the pitiful display they'd put on; but, then again, his perspective on power had shifted drastically over time. He was sure there was once a time when that thug would've been a good match for him.. how time flies.
Resting his chin in his hand, Aven chuckled. That 'Leonard' person sounded like a real piece of work, though weaker links were inevitably found in any chain, the Rune Knights no different than any other. He remembered back to when he'd met Ghost, a particularly cocky wizard about a hundredfold too big for his own britches; he assumed it was about the same situation, a lot of bark and no bite. He smiled brightly, that warm expression finding it's way back to his face. "I'd be happy to come along; in fact, I was just thinking how curious I am to see more of your magic. It's been too long since I ventured out with another wizard, I've missed the feeling," He set down a small stack of Jewel from his pocket, setting it near the edge of the table under the bill, a very generous tip to compensate the poor waitress for the trouble that morning. Rising to his feet, he shot Lilith a wink. "And I might just have to take you up on that bonus."
