Name:
Skystone Vambrace
Rank:
Strong (+) Armor
Type:
Vambrace
Description:
The Skystone Vambrace has a curious and ambiguous history, it had been donated to the National Museum in Crocus by a mysterious nobleman. It is suggested that the item had not been acquired illegally and that the nobleman wishes to remain anonymous for that reason. No archaeologist has managed to date the strange artifact nor was anyone able to assign it to known typology. Nothing alike has been found in Fiore and their colleagues in other Earthland countries have not seen anything like it before as well. There had been much debate around the artifact scientists find it hard to agree with each other, but they do agree on the following things: The artifact is ancient, the artifact has not been crafted on the continent Earthland and the artifact is probably ceremonial.
The artifacts description is as followed: The frame of the vambrace is made of electrum, an alloy of silver and gold, which is engraved with alien glyphs. The base material of the vambrace, which lies underneath the electrum, is a mosaic of ebony incrustations. An unknown gem, which at first glance might be mistaken for sapphire, is held in place by two arm-like ebony tongs at the base of the vambrace. The gem, which is referred to as the Skystone, is a luminous crystal that can only be described as a crystalized blue sky. It radiates blue light when handled by a magic user, suggesting it is a magical item.

The National Museum has eventually decided to put the artifact for auction as they require an injection of jewels to stay afloat. The Skystone Vambrace is put for sale as there is little known about it and it has been collecting dust in storage. Unknown to the museum workers would be that on a particular day, a mage would find out how the artifact works and perhaps in time learn it’s secrets.
