Protect the Merchandise (Rose and Kenshin)

It was a lovely day for a mission, hardly a cloud in the sky but such a splendid sight was going unnoticed by Kenshin whose only eye was closed in a blissful sleep. Since this was to be his first job he had spent all night preparing a batch of his elixirs for this mission and had fallen asleep just as the sun had risen and resting against a tree was a good a place as any for a good nap. Of course the ever responsable Murasaki was there to try and help his human friend. But waking him was proving to be a challenge as he ignored most of the rabbits usual tactics. The little rabbit looked up at his sleeping face, rubbing one of its own ears before letting out a slightly human like sigh and climbed Kenshin's clothes the image was a bit like a mountain climber heading upwards to his shoulder the rabbit goes a bit higher until standing on the white haired mans head. Looking down the rabbit taps his feet a few times trying to wake him but Kenshin didnt even stir. With no other options the rabbit jump off his head and cannonballs downwards...right into Kenshin's tender area.

The result was instant as Kenshin's eye shot open and he sat up shouting in pain. "What by all the saints!" he shouts groaning as the impact pain set in and then came the quakes of after pain as his body protested against the attack he had just received. "Whyyyyy?" he groans rolling on the ground a few times before sitting up hands still covering himself to stare at the rabbit who only looked back, little arms crossed and a look of a disappointed parent on its face. He looked into the rabbits eyes and then rolled his own. "I was not going to be late!" he argues, anyone who listened in would only be hearing one side of the conversation. "Thats hardly fair...I bet you could of woken be aside from the Rabbit Cannon Technique" he grumbles nicknaming the attack as if it were a real magic. "Besides I'm not the only one on this mission" he adds grumbling and sitting up his hands slide into his cloak to find himself a bottle of normal alcohol and he brings it to his lips not even caring what it was, which this morning turned out to be a whiskey and had a short breakfast of draining the bottle. "Wonder where they are" he adds putting the empty bottle away and looking around. "Cant do this on our own" he points put picking up the rabbit and setting him back on his shoulder. The mission had sounded fun enough and as Murasaki had pointed out he needed money if he wanted to keep up his drinking habits. He picked a mission that required someone to go with him and back at the guild he recalled someone agreeing but after that his mind was blank he had drank pretty hard in celebration of getting his first job...and then again when he arrived in celebration of the trip.

Neko stretched out in a tree near the meeting point he had with his guild member. The guy had just joined and needed a partner to go on a job with. Not that Neko minded. After all the guy was attractive and he also herd a rumor that when he was drunk he was a bit "friendly" with guy's. And that he was always drinking. Neko liked the thought of that. On top of all that it had been a while sense Neko had been on a job so he decided to go ahead with it. Neko's long silver hair hung from the tree. It was about 4 o'clock in the morning and all he could do was stare at the moon. It was the closet thing he had to his goddess right now. She had disappeared and neko couldn't reach her. Not even at her temples. Every now and then he'd get a flash back of her lessons but that was it. As usual Neko wore a Black sleeveless shirt that cut off revealing his abs and a pair of simple black silk pant's Even though his hair was tired up it was still long. He began to count the stars and fell asleep.

Neko woke up a few hours later with a start. He herd a loud thud and a lot of whining to. He grabbed his sword and tossed it over his back. He jumped to the ground almost completely silent. He looked over and to his right about 100 ft was his partner. He silently made his way over and smiled when he reached him. Haha you seem to be having a bit of trouble there. Anything I can help with? Neko's voice was very warm and friendly.

Kenshin jumped slightly hearing a sudden voice when he had thought he and his rabbit were alone. While sitting down his face was right facing right at the mans waist where he spotted the marking tattoo of fairy tail on and his one visible eye lit up. "I'm in less trouble now" he jokes picking up his rabbit and setting him on the head as he stood up slowly swaying slightly and putting a hand on the tree to keep his balance now, but he put a bit too much pressure on the tree causing it to groan and creak slightly and as he stepped away from it he left a hand print on it from where he had pushed off.

Hearing the sounds of the tree protesting he turns back and looks down a little embarrassed "Don't know my own strength" he mumbles rubbing the back of his own head before turning back to his new friend, to him anyone who shared the tattoo of the guild was instantly a friend. "You must be the guy who agreed to help me!" he says and just to prove he was genie he turns his head and puts a hand to his ear bending it away to show his own smaller mark somewhat hidden behind it.

"Say hi Murasaki" Kenshin demands turning his head upward slightly to look up at his little pet who looks down with a slightly annoyed gaze before looking to Neko and nodding. "Word of the wise, never trust the rabbit" Kenshin warns and then winces as said rabbit yanked on some of his hair. "And I'm Kenshin" he points out, the carefree smile never leaving his face.

Neko giggled at the little fight between the two. Neko wasnt quite expecting the smile though. Normally people looked at him funny but not him he was all smiles. He revealed his tattoo that was behind his ear. Well mr Kenshin what and odd place to put your guild tatoo. Neko grinned at him. Im Neko. Neko Silver. And yes im the one haha Neko looked up to the little rabbit and scratched under his chin. Yea know Murasaki if you keep looking like that then all the cute bunny fuzz will fall off and youll look like a hairless cat! Neko giggled at his own words then stopped scratching the bunny and look Kenshin in the eye's with a total serious look. Almost as if his mood had completely changed. I hear that we are going on a body guard duty. Is it anything valuable? I need to get a little reckless on jobs like this so I need to know if I can go all out for this fight. I also need to know if you can handle your self. These mage's get a little greedy and anyone who is not well prepared can get hurt really badly. These arnt easy people to beat. And im not saying your weak at all but I just wanna make sure. Neko's eye's flashed with a bit of worry and wonder. Normally if someone in his guild got hurt he went on a rampage. Now this person is someone he's kinda crushing on and in the guild. It's something he didnt wanna see happen. Neko was an extremely nice person but sometimes there was an ugly darker side to him that really scared him.

Kenshin instantly liked this guy, he was nice and didn't seem to mind his rabbit's habits. But it would be a lie if he wasn't slightly taken back by the sudden change in his personality, it was suddenly so dark and boding it did startle himself slightly and with a small grin he nods to all his questions. "I hadn't asked bout what they are carrying honestly I don't care long as it gets to where its going" he explains and looking at Neko was like looking into a mirror in a sense. In a small way this side of Neko was not unlike himself without the power of booze warming his cold nature and as he smiled there was a slight pinch of sadness in his smile and he did the only thing he could to try and counter this new nature.

Stepping closer he wraps a long arm around Neko and laughs a little. "Oh don't you worry bout me , I know how to fight and if I cant win then I will stand aside to let you kick some ass....you can kick ass right?" he jokes knowing that this guy was a rank higher but to a drunken fool ranks were somewhat hard to understand and they would only get in the way if he lost a fight. "But I got your back my friend, I'll do my best and when we're done I'll get you a drink" he says happily and the one drawback to his drunken nature was that he struggled to take anything too seriously. "Come on, bet they're almost ready to go" he says patting his shoulder again before moving on even when standing it was clear Kenshin was never fully sober as he couldnt even stand still swaying gently side to side as his one eye darted around taking in the world

Neko silently laughed at his comment about not caring. Neko hoped he wasn't to literal about that because sometimes people took away job pay of the merchandise was harmed. Neko honestly didn't care because good on money but he wasn't sure a out his partner. Kenshin put his arm around Neko with a slight laugh."Oh don't you worry bout me , I know how to fight and if I cant win then I will stand aside to let you kick some ass....you can kick ass right? Neko was about to correct him and laugh on how he had no idea just how much ass he could kick but it seemed as he was already drunk and ment it as a joke.. "But I got your back my friend, I'll do my best and when we're done I'll get you a drink" Neko blushed un sure what to say but then he started walking off talking about how the client might already be waiting on them. Neko fall owed closely behind not saying a thing. He was lost in thought. This guy was a complete mystery to neko. He wasn't sure what to say or do. Neko was utterly fascinated by him. They continued on for a bit reaching the client. Neko looked at Kenshin with a smile.ill let you go talk to him haha. I'm not good with listening. I tend to do a little more what I want and a little less of what others want. Neko started to walk to the back of the wagon while he assumed that Kenshin was talking to the client. Neko had no problem following job orders it's just he want more time to think on what to do about Kenshin. With a sigh deciding to leave it alone neko popped his neko and ran his fingers through his hair a bit.oh boy Nyx what a fun one this will be won't it

The thing about how Kenshin was and Neko would soon realize is that Kenshin was always drunk. He pats his new friends shoulder as he walks over to the caravan and spends just a bit of time talking. Of course he requested aid, fancy cloths and other annoying things that people other then Kenshin would enjoy. Kenshin nodded when he figured he should but over all the lights were on and nobody was home. It was just so boring and he jumped a little when the Caravan started moving and Kenshin waves to Neko and since his ally was guarding the back Kenshin would stay up front but often bumped into it to keep balance and as they started to walk he would turn to wave at Neko and after awhile he pulls out a flask of normal alcohol and takes a long drink lowering it with a sigh he looks around bored.

As they walked he was actually hoping something would happen, things were being so boring to the drunkard that he actually started to hope something would happen, all the merchant was doing was talking bout sales and stores which Kenshin simply did not care bout. He rolls his eyes when he tries again to talk and Kenshin steps back to wave to Neko again and the slight flaw to his manners and magic was that he was a bit unaware of anything at the moment, he was so bored he felt like taking a nap again rather then keep walking with someone talking his ear off.

Neko was watching the back... For the most part. Every so often hed sneek a glance Kenshin. A few times Kenshin waved back to neko and he waved back. He seemed to be bored from the talking merchant. Neko couldn't help but laugh a few times. It didn't help that he was drunk. Neko wondered what he was thinking about. Of corse this was only the silly crush side of neko. Normally neko would be drinking at the guild hall him self or sleeping. But when it came down to it he was very alert. Neko herd something behind them and when he turned to look the wagon stopped and he bumped into the back causeing him to jump. He looked up to see one of the wheels cracked. The merchant cursed and grumbled about having to take the old back roads. Neko had a nervous smile walking up to Kenshin. If you want you can take the back and ill..... there was a small explosion to the right of them and in a split second Neko had he sword and raised and shimmering with a silver light. A bandit walked out with a crazed look on his face stepped forward and threw a small knife at Kenshin.You drunk idiot. Neko stepped in between the two and knocked they small metal to the ground. Neko had a toothy grin and crazed look in his eyes as he looked up the the bandit. Looks like you tried to hurt my friend. Baka! neko swung his sword and a fine silver beam cut through the bandit. As the two pieces of the bandit feel to the ground 9 more bandit stepped out snarling. Neko laughed and grinned at them as he raised his sword.who wants to die next?

'Monster Dice' :

Kenshin's smile grew and grew as Neko got closer, feeling like he was going to save him from his boredom but to his shock he also saved his life and his grin grew wild to the point he looked like a mad man. "Oh finally!" he shouts laughing as he undid the tie around his heck and as it fell to his feet he took a single bottle from its folds and sank his teeth into the cork lid and tilts his head back chugging it. His rabbit understood what was going on and jumps from his head to the cart, finding a nice place to take cover.

As he drank his already solid blush grows redder and redder and when the bottle was empty he throws  it aside. "Right pretty boy, let me show you how we do it where I'm from!" he shouts as two small tornado gather under his feet and when he stepped off he went sailing into the air. Without his cloak it was clear just how thin the man was and free from his cloak his long brown monkey tail was visible darting too and fro. He had only used one shot of his Footsteps spell to reach the height and twisting in mid air he fires the other foots wind sending him flying into the ground at the nearest bandit. There was a loud impact of force upon his arrival and as the dust settled Kenshin was holding the man by the collar with his eye wide and aiming for the next foe. "Come on then!" he shouts dropping his first victim and raising his arms up his drunken swaying was even worse now to the point he nearly fell over but when one man tried to use that opening Kenshin's foot shot up at a wide ankle nailing his opponent in the chest sending him sliding back up not enough to put him down.

Neko laughed seeing the drunk Kenshin getting revved up. He didn't know someone had a magic like that. But Neko wasn't one to judge for an odd magic because no one has even herd of night magic. Neko shrugged it off and had a slight laugh about his pretty boy comment. Oh? A challenge I take it? Well then let me show you how it's done babe. Night Style: Dusk Gauntlets! A night flame coated from his finger tips to his elbows. The flame flew off the end of his elbow into a point. Neko grinned at one of the bandit's. Neko started walking towards him with a wicked grin. Neko raised his hand to swing but the was hit on the back of the head with a club. Neko felt a hot liquid dampen his hair. Neko's eye's lit with a static rage. You fucked with the wrong man's hair. Neko's voice was a low growl. His attention wasn't on the fact that his head was bleeding bad but that his hair was soaked with blood. In a swift hard motion neko knocked the club away and broke the bandit's arm. Neko grinned as he howled with pain. In one more motion Neko knocked the bandit on his knees and grabbed his face with both hand's. The bandit was screaming from the pain of the flame's pressed against his face. In a swift motion Neko snapped his neck. DONT! fuck with my hair. They body fell to the floor and one of the bandit's screamed at neko. You sick freak! Im gonna make you pay for that! He was my friend! The Bandit charged him and swung the club. Neko grabbed the club and smriked. Bad Move

Kenshin was in his own little world as he spun and fell a few times, each movement carrying him out of the way of a spear or sword and when one attack came close enough to him that he felt the wind on the strike he just giggles and stays on the ground, his arms sprawled out as he gazed up at the sky for a moment. But as one of the bandits drove his spear into the ground Kenshin rolls back propping himself up for a second before pushing off the ground to wrap his legs around the bandits head and after some wiggling was riding the man's shoulders. "Weeeeeeee" he cheers patting his new rides head and the only thing the guy could think of was to try and hit him with the spear, but Kenshins arms moved fast taking the spear from him. "Yoink! Now onwards!" he demands as the unwilling bandit flails and nearly falls trying to dismount the drunken fool hanging on him.

While he had a height advantage he spun the spear around and around smacking anyone too stupid to get close to him while he was having fun, but each swing hit with the handle of the weapon, careful never to make a stabbing motion and keeping the sharp spear end towards himself. But as all good things come to an end the man fell to his knees, unable to breath as Kenshin wrapped a leg around his neck and was squeezing tight and as he passed out Kenshin stabs the spear into the ground and uses it as a pole vault to fling himself closer to Neko, tumbling and ended up sitting on his ass nearby and he dusts himself off calmly getting back to his feet. "Come on, been in bar fights more challenging then this! Like this one time when I thought the bar owner was a girl....he didnt take kindly to me" he says turning around to face the leftovers.

Neko giggled listening to him insult the bandit's. Theses bandit's where easily beat. Neko sighed bored with this now. Alright boy's time to go away. I have to patience for you. We have a job to do. Be gone! Night Arch Seven Hell's! Suddenly seven bright flames sputtered into being. With a flick of his wrist each flame hit a different bandit. The bandit's that where left started to scream with pain. One of the bandit's that sounded like the leader braked at the rest of them. Come on everyone out! We'll let "his" group deal with them. After he's done with them we will get this stuff and be rich! The bandit had a bad burn on his face smiling as him and the other's run away. Neko had a bad feeling about the way they said that. One thing was for sure that Neko knew there would be more trouble later on with those guy's. Neko just shrugged it off. If the new guys where anything like the last Neko had nothing to worry about.  Neko leaned against the wagon waiting for it to be fixed. He looked up at kenshin with a cheesy grin.  Looks like we scared them off huh??? I guess we will be good for now.   Neko blushed staring at kenshin. Even though he was drunk and all Neko loved the way he looked walked and talked. He blushed just thinking about it.

Kenshin watched them go while sitting down and leaped to his feet watching the impressive display from Neko but then waved at the bandits. "Awwww dont go! I got plenty more ass kicking left!" he shouts throwing a rock at one of the stragglers and for a guy with one eye had rather good aim. "Wusses!" he shouts and dusts himself off and grinning as he went back to Neko and wrapped an arm around him again. "You sir have a issue with being bad ass" he jokes but pulling his hand away he notices the blood and his eye narrows worried.

"Hang on, I got something for that" he says picking his cloak off the ground and putting it back on, then he rummages through the many pockets until he finds a strange shaped bottle and careful pours a glass. "Called Numbing Bliss, a good little potion to help the pain....if you are in pain" he offers feeling a bit of an ache from where he had fallen on his back during his drunken fighting and he takes a gulp of the first glass visibly shivering as he was taken by a rather nice numbing feeling from the effects. "Wanna drink?" he asks pouring a second shot.

Neko smiled and blushed at his comment. Ehh hehe im not bad ass really. Just and annoyed and bored gay guy is all Neko's laugh was nervous when ken pulled his arm away. Neko had totally forgotten that he was bleeding. Neko smelt the liquid and felt a little woozy. Before he could take the bottle he shook his head. Oh eh heh heh no thank's. I didn't even remember I was bleeding. You dont need to waist it on me really! It's not so much neko didn't want it. It's just Neko didn't trust him self drunk. He's afraid of what he might do to Ken. Before Ken could suspect anything he pushed the drink away and stood. You have it. It's more use for you. I can just pull my hair up tight and be good. My hair will be red and soak up the blood and stop the bleeding * neko let out an irritated sigh* but the cut isnt to bad so when we finally get to Era I'll shower change and go see the doctor.

Neko walked off slowly to the wagon and finished helping with fixing it. He was really embarrassed by what just happened. The guy was probably gonna get sick because of all the blood. His cheek's flushed an even deeper red. He stretched his back waiting for the wagon man to make sure everything was ok. He let out a sigh. What am I gonna do with my self..

Kenshin frowned a little bit, he considered Neko a friend and like all friends he would enjoy sharing a drink. But at least he wasnt a downer bout it but stilll he had the trouble with the fact he had poured himself a glass and now didnt have plans to drink it. Two shots of numbling bliss would knock even him on his ass for awhile so he looks around and gives a short whistle. "Mura, come here you little bugger" he calls and his rabbit crawls out of his hiding place. "Here, you can finish this" he says offering the little rabbit the drink and grinning as he eagerly downed the glass. "Little drunk" he teases picking him up and setting his rabbit friend on his head and then stowed the bottle away.

As the caravan got moving again Kenshin kept his one good eye open but again was getting soooooooo bored and turned around to walk backwards so he could look at Neko. "Neko! You should come hang out up front!" he calls hoping to have someone to talk to. "Come on, the rabbit wont bite" he adds and since walking backwards nearly falls on a rock and he tilts way back having to do a handstand to stay upright and then lets his feet back down and scoops up Murasaki, who had fallen off during the fall. He looks back for a moment before raising his hands in the air. "Ta-da?" he says awkwardly not sure how else to recover from that accident

Neko was lost in thought thinking about many things at once. Neko had a hard time around people he liked. He also felt bad for not taking the drink. He wasn't trying to be mean he just was conserved about what he would do if he where drunk. He didn't wanna scare the poor guy. Or scar him for that matter. Neko didn't notice the big rock he was so lost in thought. Neko tripped on it and caught himself on the back of the wagon before he could fall and hurt himself.Damn that could have turned out badly for me. Neko had just enough time to pick up his sword before Kenshin called him telling him to come up front. Neko hesitated for a second. He looked around the back to make sure no one els showed up. After a few moments of deciding and watching neko jogged up to the front. neko giggled at his attempt to pull of acting like he didn't fall. What a funny guy he thought to himself. i see your very quick on your eh.... reflexes Neko grinned and turned to the wagon when he herd snoreung. Neko scowled at the man.We are escorting the man. The least he could do is stay awake. Neko didn't mind because if something where to happen between the two no one would see. Neko blushed and shook his head trying to get rid of the thoughts. He wouldn't risk it.

Kenshin grinned happily when Neko came up to the front "Oh thank you, talking to Murasaki was getting dull" he jokes and has to stick out his tongue at the little rabbit when he shoots him a death stare and Kenshin steps away from the cart. "Ah its not so bad, leaves just us right?" he jokes happily bringing the lid of his next bottle of booze to his lips and starts taking gulp after gulp of it. Pulling it away with a happy sigh "Still, if those bandits were the worst we're gonna run into I can blame him, sent packing with their tails between their legs!" he says shouting the end of it, hoping that maybe there were still a few within ear shot that could hear him trying to bait them into another fight.

At the comment over the sleeping driver Kenshin nods "Eh I envy him, honestly those guys were a bore, hardly a challenge for badass mages like us!" he says shouting one more time but then just laughed and wrapped a long arm around Neko again. "You know joining a guild was a good idea, lots of fun, cool people and you havent yelled at me at all for being drunk" he says happy that for once a job wasnt falling apart because of his drinking.

Neko blushed at his arm aroundd him and his slur talk. Well dear thats because everyone there drinks to! I do drink my self but uh... not when men are around or unless it's with EVERYONE so um... hehe yea. Neko blushed even more. He raised his head up to look at the sky and grinned as the sky was changing color's showing that the day was slowly changing into night. Just the thought of night time thrilled Neko. All the nice cool air, shining star's, and pretty animal's. Neko began to really smile when he herd cricket's singing and the firefly's flashing. It was truely bliss for him even though he was on a job. Night was always special to him and alway's made him happy. Neko walked ahead of the group when an explosion went off. Far ahead neko saw the line of bandit's and fire swirling in front of them. Neko's eye's lit with fire as he saw the forest creatures running away. Some even where caught on fire. Neko popped his knuckles walking toward's them with a high speed. He pulled a vial from his shirt. The vial was filled with a scarlet hot liquid. Neko pulled the cork from the top and drank the blood inside. Neko leaped through the air and changed into a cat Demon.

You...... you hurt the animal's, Burned the trees, and are a threat to ruin my mission. You people seem to want trouble so i'll give you the best kind. The trouble of a demon! Neko changed in all but a second. One he hit the ground he took off running at them snarling. He was ready for blood. No one would ruin this for him. Not even the greedy bastards in front of him.

Kenshin was about to tease him again, for not drinking with him but he nods "Well then when we get back we'll party until the sun comes up!" he cheers happily even jumping up into the air a bit but then to his shock he saw the wall of fire and the animals running from the blast, some even aflame.

He opened his mouth to say something but his friend had already stepped forward, shifting again in anger and he watched with a slight worry but then he didnt have time to worry to much, not with another wave of bandits marching towards them and he needed to think fast, not only think fast but he needed to be fast so with a grimace he pulled out a silver vial and looked at it with a slight annoyed look but he cracked the glass so he could pour the liquid down his throat, shivering and coughing slightly but his eyes narrowed as the power flowed through him, his body feeling like fire as his foot dug into the soil and he shot off like a bullet towards them, firing his footsteps spell again to increase his speed further and able to keep time behind Neko's new form and his eyes watching and at the last second he darted to the rigght expecting Neko to go left and the first poor bandit he ran into met a spin kick that actually sent the poor guy sailing into the woods.
