Luna had recently become an officer in the Rune Knights, and part of her new responsibilities involved a lot of paperwork. A lot of it was cost reports for materials used, equipment that needed maintenance or replacement, and some other expenditures that were trivial in hindsight. In doing her paperwork, Luna had gotten acquainted with Melody, who seemed to be the quiet type, but she seemed nice. Luna had had some trouble getting a date for the solstice festivities, but she had really wanted to go, and since Melody had never acted rudely towards her, she figured that she might as well ask, so on the day of the event, while they were doing their last bit paperwork for the day, Luna passed her a note. On it was written a simple question. "Would you mind attending the solstice festival with me?" She was blushing while she waited for a response. She didn't normally ask her coworkers out like this, but she wasn't sure how else to ask someone who seemed so quiet. She had signed the note, and was mostly hoping that she wouldn't say no right away. It was a bit nerve wracking, though, since she didn't know much about Melody. She had an outfit ready for the event, she simply hadn't changed into it yet since they were working.

    #368bc1 Melody's speech
    #6960ec Melody's thought
_____Melody thought she had up-kept a decent ghost presence, trying not to draw attention, keeping conversations with others simple and to the point. It was not so much Melody disliked people, but had a hard time dealing with things as she was always quick to get flustered or panic over doing something she assumed to be wrong. That being said, as she noticed the note and what it had on it she blinked a few times as her tail swayed a bit behind her.

"Is that the same as asking for a date? I don't know how customs work here... but i don't think I am exactly anyone's type... Could just be her trying to be friendly since I'm always by myself... But I have no idea what sort of things one does at such a event... I doubt I would be a good pick for anyone to take along..."

_____Thinking somewhat aloud as she fumbled some more paperwork into the finished piles and looked over to see that lack of more to do with a light sigh. She would have tried to use paperwork as a way to get out of failing someone's expectations of her, and to just stay out of other's way but seeing as the holiday left little for them to do Melody sighed lightly and rose from her seat to go find Luna as she blushed holding the Magic council rule book over her face, ears tilted down as her tail moved slowly behind her.

"I'm not sure what one does at such an event... but if you took the time to ask me I suppose It would be rude to decline... Just... please don't judge me to much... I've only been around Fiora for a little while so a lot of your customs and things have me at a lost..."

_____Melody as always spoke in a sheepish faint tone, if Luna tried to pry as to where the girl came from like some others the result would be the same. Gripping the book tightly as she looked away and seemed to try and avoid the subject at all cost. The outing was set in motion, and as Melody moved the book down to her chest now that her blush was vanishing she wondered what exactly she just agreed to doing anyways...

"Well, there's building snowmen, snowball fights, ice sculpting, ice skating, cocoa tasting, a frozen t-shirt contest....yeah, not as appealing as the summer version, and sled races. And if we happen to get bored with that stuff, we can always fend off whatever monsters come out of the woodwork during stuff like this. Although if I'm being honest, I'd rather spend that time getting to know you better. I've seen you running around with your files and papers, as I'm sure you've seen me doing whenever I'm not cooped up in the lab. And, well, I don't know, there's just something about you that I find fascinating." Luna had turned a shade of pink during the last half of that verbal expulsion, which was practically borderline red.

She hadn't planned on saying that much, but the way that Melody spoke made Luna want to protect her for some reason. "I mean, if you end up not having a good time, we can always come back here and watch some cheesy comedy, if you want." Luna wasn't exactly good at asking people out, and the rejection from Masha earlier in her career still bothered her a bit. Still, this wasn't the time for her to be focused on others. She was supposed to be spending time with Melody, after all. "Just give me a few minutes to get changed, and I'll be ready to go, okay?" Without waiting for a response, Luna grabbed a package from her desk and rushed into the restroom to change. When she returned, she was wearing a seemingly tight Santa dress, which her four tails hung out the back of. "So...how do I look?"
