Holding the odd stone in the palm of his hand as he wandered through the deeper wilds of Sakuramori, the raven haired swordsman was still getting used to this strange sensation he was experiencing. While the wilderness had always served him as a sort of natural relief and source of calm, this was nothing like that. Normally, he could always feel that there was another presence hidden away inside of him that wanted to get out. There were times when it was being really violent and loud about it, though most of the time, he hardly felt that Vetis was even there. But at this point in time, he could swear that he was gone entirely as he couldn't find the faintest trace of him no matter how hard and how deep he dug down into his subconscious. At first, he figured that it might have been a trick to get Solmar to go that far so the demon could get a chance at just dashing out and taking over.
However, after the things that happened with the elemental node after Vetis tried taking over for good, part of him felt like the demon had been ripped free from him entirely. And this wasn't just some random thought either, as it had a lot of possibilities attached to it. At the time of all of this happening, Solmar had taken the elemental node up to a cave in the Phoenix mountains, a place where he had defeated a Wraith and ended her child-killing antics for good. Because the node needed to be charged by draining away a buttload of negative energy, there wasn't a place Solmar could imagine that would be better for it than the cavern where this wraith had killed well over a hundred children over the course of roughly fifty to sixty years. When he brought the stone there for it to do what it was going to do, it had instead materialized all of that negative energy into the shape of Gindendith, otherwise known as the wraith.
Because Solmar had gotten a lot stronger since he had last faced her, he was much more well equipped to deal with her this time around, thus he ended up killing her shortly after their fight began. Though he did end up wounded from the fight, the fact that he had managed to kill her by himself this time proved to him that he had at least gotten better at protecting himself. However, by the time the node started drawing in all of that negative energy into itself in order to charge itself, it had also started drawing on all of that same energy that was dwelling inside of Solmar. Drawing out Vetis, the two had an internal battle for a short period of time, though he had been rendered unconscious and had no idea as to what happened after that. Outside of his knowledge, the node had drawn Vetis out of his body and used the blood that had been shed during the battle against the wraith in order to form a stone-like cocoon.
As Vetis's soul had been trapped inside of the stone and had been drawn from Solmar completely, by the time the latter awoke, he just figured that the node had absorbed Vetis and converted him into the type of energy that it needed in order to power itself up. Taking the powered stone of the elementals with him now that it was ready to be properly used, he hadn't given a whole lot of thought about the strange stone or rock that had appeared in the cavern after the battle. And who could blame him when all he really wanted to do was leave the place where so many innocent children had been killed just to feed into the delusions of an long dead woman. In so doing, he could not have known that this large stone was in fact a cocoon in which Vetis's consciousness had been stored. The node possessed, after all, a certain kind of power that was meant to give the wielder what it wanted most.
For Solmar, that had always been to find a place where he could belong, a place where he felt like he could truly be at home. But since Vetis and Solmar were two beings dwelling within the same body, it was likely that the stone, after being charged, had also sensed what Vetis wanted most. And what Vetis wanted most of all was to be free of Solmar, free to do the things he wanted to do without having to constantly struggle for control or being forced to witness life through the eyes of someone else, incapable of doing anything. So, the stone had taken it as a request and completely tore the demonic entity from Solmar's body, storing it inside of a cocoon from which a new body could be grown that was entirely his own. Whether it was truly what it had in mind at the time or not was not something the stone could do anything about though, for at the end of the day, it was just a mindless object.
But since Solmar hadn't the faintest clue as to any of that, the fact that his mind was now no longer clouded by the influences of the demon made him feel a plethora of things that had been foreign to him before. One of these things he felt right now was that his hearing, his sense of smell and even his ability to sense magical presences had exponentially grown. That, and his fire magic had been a lot easier to control and conjure. All of these things were all connected to one thing, the primary source of his magic that had originally been intended for him to use in the killing of demons. Now that he, for whatever reason, no longer possessed an actual demonic entity in his body anymore, all of the traits tied in with this magical power seemed to no longer be bogged down by it, allowing them to reach their true potential along with Solmar's own body feeling more healthy than it did before.
