Onida had been having a rather relaxing day. The sun was shining, birds were singing a lovely tune, almost as if they were serenading the blonde woman as she walked along the street. Her intention had been to meet with a few of the Rune Knights at their headquarters, to discuss some business with them. Their goals seemed to be quite similar to how hers used to be when she was a part of her pack. It only seemed right that she would attempt to align herself with them. Perhaps they would have some good paying jobs for her to do. She could never sneeze at some good cash. The clicking of her heels quickened with her pace, her excitement pushing her to move faster towards her destination.
That was, until the clicking stopped all together. The world almost seemed to be moving in slow motion. The birds that had been sicking were now fleeing, their squawks of terror replacing their once cheerful song. The excitement that had filled the young woman’s heart was not replaced with dread. There it was. Her destination, torn apart by an explosion of magic energy. The light that emanated from it was blinding, causing her golden eyes to squint, retreating from the piercing pain. She had no idea why this was happening, or what exactly was the best course of action, but if she was going to do something, she needed to act now. And so she did. Her body was engulfed into it’s own light, her bones and flesh shifting painfully into something less human. In her wolf form, she ran forward, golden hues burning with a mixture of fear and passion.
Once she had made it into the fray, she observed her surroundings frantically, trying her best to come up with some sort of plan. This was bad… There were many injured men and women, and their cries of pain rang eerily within the wolf woman’s ears. Now wasn’t the time to get distracted though. How many were injured? How many would be able to fight if needed? There still seemed to be quite a few people who were well enough. The deeper Onida ventured within the headquarters, the more distressing things she noticed. That’s why they were attacking… These people were trying to free the prisoners that were being kept here. Many of the thugs ran free now, attacking anyone who was in their sight in order to make their way out of the smoking building.
No… This wasn’t going to happen on Onida’s watch. Many innocent humans had already been harmed in this ordeal. This is where she drew the line. These criminals would not escape into the real world and hurt more of them. Normally gentle golden hues glitched menacingly, shimmering like sparks. “Listen up everyone! If we’re going to put these criminals in their place, we need to act now! Don’t let them escape! Do whatever you must!” Onida barked, her muscles tightening in preparation for battle. The knights that surrounded her looked slightly confused. A wolf was giving them orders. Not something you would see every day, but it wasn’t like the wolf was wrong. If they were going to keep this situation under control, they had to make a stand right now. Onida was actually quite shocked to see that the soldiers had begun to crowd behind her, shouts of determination resounding from each of them. Shock quickly turned into her own determination. She couldn’t let these people down. If she was going to lead them, then she had to do it right. It had been a long time since she had been a leader, but this time, she wasn’t going to mess it up.
“Stand your ground! Don’t let them pass!”
