The desert holds a lot of mysteries and secrets within its ever-shifting sand dunes, sinkholes, and sandstorms. There are those that hold little value or consequence so it is of no great loss if they never resurface, there are some that are of great value due to the abilities or knowledge that they hold and so it is a terrible loss if they where never to be found again, then there are the few that hold terrible and devastating power; these are the ones that should remain lost for all eternity but the powers that be often hold cruel jokes letting them be found by unsuspecting mortals. The soulfire amulet is one such forbidden artifact.
The amulet itself is easily held within the palm of a person's hand and hidden within a pocket thanks to its slender cylindrical shape. What is strange about it is that it appears to be surrounded by some sort of black metal that holds a face within. On closer inspection, the metal seems to be liquid and also in constant movement, what the uninformed owner will not know is that this not a metal but a secondary soul that protects the neon blue flaming soul within the cylinder.
History:
Deep within the desert there was said to be a small village surrounded by an oasis. This oasis was created thanks to the blue crystal that had hovered above the village for as long as anyone within could remember. Nothing was as it seemed, however, as those that called this place home had a secret, one that they themselves had forgotten long ago. This secret was that no one but one lone boy was alive within the place, the boy was chosen at his birth to be the guardian to the village of the dead. Taken from his family on the day of his birth, he was left at the gate like many before him as some sort of offering to those within.
The boy himself was raised within the village not knowing his true origins, he was raised in a loving atmosphere. As he grew he slowly unlocked hidden knowledge on what his true purpose of being within the village, still this hadn't changed him, he grew into a well adjusted young man doing his duties without question. One day however others came across the village, something that had never happened before. He knew the rules and laws of his home when it came to outsiders as well as the orders of his position. No one living but himself could be within the village and no one but the dead could drink the water. Moving outside of the gates he went to meet the intruders to tell them what they had stumbled upon and the rules but they vanished.
This was unusual as he could see through mirages, it was then he heard screaming from within the protection of his home. Running in he seen the spirits that raised him falling to their true deaths. This built a hate in him he had never felt before, calling the crystal that produced the village's water to his side knowing that this was what the specters were likely wanting. Looking at the centre of his home he remembered the shrine and the spirit of the flame that lived within it. Rushing forward he drew his own blade and started to cut down the enemies he came across, it was of no use as they healed after only a few moments of being put down. This was fine, it bought him enough time to do what he needed to though he was afraid to do it.
He fused the sacred soul of fire with the crystal of water encasing it, knowing that it would take a new shape, giving it new purpose but this came with a high price to himself as he used himself as the medium. With fiery tears falling from his eyes his body fused to the cylinder creating the eternal protector of the two ancient relics that had become one artifact. “This is my last prayer as who I once was, hide our souls, keep our rage hidden, let us never be found again.” with that it was if the gods listened as the now soulfire was gone from its place of creation.

Any opponent in this aura is drained of 5% of their total MP each turn. Additionally, their spell durability and spell healing are both debuffed by half of a user rank active debuff.

Description: The Flame within the cylinder starts glowing a bright cyan colour, creating a magic circle around the user that expands out to the spell's range. Within this magic circle an illusion of the village that once housed the three parts of this artifact would be created. By using the memories of the young male it would also create the people he remembered living there. The wielder and their allies take on the appearance of people that would have likely been within the village. While within the illusion enemies of the holder of this artifact lose 5% of their total HP per round. In addition their enemies will also have their strength and spell damage debuffed by half of a user rank active debuff.

Description: The young man that gave his life to protect the sacred treasures within the village of the dead, now offers the gifts he once had to their new protector. The wielder of this item gains a counter-effect to piercing attacks, the damage of spells containing such effects cut in half if affecting the user.
