Shane walk through the hallways, his head buried within an opened file, not bothering to evade anyone since it was a rather quiet day in the headquarters. Everyone were either in the mess hall or their offices, finishing up on some paperwork or just taking whatever time they could to relax before the next big thing erupted. The Spec Ops captain had just exited a meeting with his subordinates, and he was going through their files.
It had been on his mind for a long time, especially after the joint training event between Spec Ops and Combat Corps to create cross-division teams for field operations. It was a great approach, a multi-faceted combat team that would be able to handle anything that comes their way. But the mechanics of such a team had yet to be finalized. Hence, Shane’s current initiative that he was putting together to propose to Mythal, the mysterious leader of the Spec Ops division.
He planned to break down his men into smaller teams of five, consisting of Spec Ops operatives with differing abilities. He saw it as a far more efficient way to control and distribute their workload, instead of mobilizing them as a whole troop. However, it was something that would take time to work out the kinks.
Deaf to the voices speaking and blind to the people in front of him, the blonde Rune Knight found himself in a recurring situation. He looked up at the last minute, and instantly stopped his feet from moving forward. Both feet were level now and he was on his tiptoes, straining every muscle in his body to not fall forward into the Combat Corps General, who was merely inches away from him.
“Gis-- General Ceostra! Good day,” Shane called out quickly when he finally rocked back on his heels. As he spoke, Shane suddenly realized that he was once more, out of his uniform. “Ahh! We have a new recruit I see?”
Shane turned towards the girl, finding it amusing how the recent recruits had mostly been females. Were the guys so afraid of serving in the military now? Or does the females possess a higher sense of justice?
