Personality: Some would classify Azrael as a blatant pathological liar. That was the drawback of keeping your true self private, hidden only to be shared with those closest to you. To most he appeared as a calculating, withdrawn, proud young man of few words though many chose to view his pride as arrogance. Not surprising considering his outter shell being that of snark and irony and -to those he thought of as deserving it- scorn. That said, behind clsoed doors Azrael showcased quite the kind streak. Caring, loyal to a sometimes problematic degree, way more amiable too. Also in trusted company the laconic man was, comicaly, way more talkative. All in all however a trait he shares in both of his "worlds" is that of self-preservation, though in private it extends to the people he holds dear too.

Prideful as he is its no wonder Azrael takes badly to being ordered around. At least by people who haven't earned his respect. However if push comes to shove he is willing to subdue himself and do what has to be done. If that is to be led, well so be it. When the wheel turns and finds Azrael on a possition of command he tries to treat everyone with fairness yet cold calculation. A strict yet effective leader. Unyielding and confident but also cunning he never surrenders but knows how not to pick a fight he can't win.

If all the above has given you the impression of a nice yet somewhat hard to handle youn man you would be wrong. Completely wrong. While his disposition is anything but cruel, Azrael's morality is ambigious at best and non-existant at worse. Considering morality an arbitrary construct of humanity he isn't beyond twisting and bending laws and values to get what he wants or needs. It's not that he thinks the ends justify the means, rather he believes there is no need for such a justification at all.

The intriguing combitnation of Azrael's character is completed by slight alcoholicism and an addiction -or affection as he so tends to call it- of cigarettes.

Likes:

• Alcohol: As expected of an alcoholic, Azrael has quite the liking for liquid ethanol. He carries a hip flask which he fills with various types of alcohol though his favourites are rum, gin, whisky and sambuca.
  
  
• Bartending: One may consider this an extension of his alcoholicism, but that one would find theirselves in grave danger should Azrael hear of this. He himself thinks of bartending as a form of art.
  
  
• Philosophy: Long winded discusions that have no point or meaning to folks who abstain from philosophical thoughts. Pondering on the abstract is something Azrael finds captivating yet at the same time depressing. Especially the topic of logic draws him in the most.
  
  
• Night: The serene emptiness and calm starry sky always appealed to Azrael. To him a beautiful, cool night is always to be enjoyed. Especially if its accompanied by booze and good company.
  
  
  

Dislikes:

• Emotion over Logic: He may be an overall multilayered man but on certain topics he is as simple as they can be. When discussing or arguing logic always take precedence over emotion for him and those who don't follow that are entitled to his scorn.
  
  
• Tediousness: Boring repetition, monotonous routine call it whatever you want as long as it deprives him of excitement then Azrael isn't fond of it.
  
  
• Spotlight: Having never been one to stand out -at least in a positive way- he hates being the center of attention.
  
  
• Himself: Bordering self hatred, Azrael showcases a particular dislike for himself. Whether that stems from feelings of depression or self-awareness even he doesn't know.
  
  

Motivations:

• Knowledge: For knowledge is power, yet knowledge is also sin.
  
  
• Freedom: In the end we are all humans and hence should be free. Freedom and the ability to not be tied up or held down is one of his biggest goals in life.
  
  
• Wealth: Azrael grew up forcing himself to steal food to survive. While recognising that money won't bring him happiness he admits that being miserable in oppulance is better than doing so in poverty
  
  

Fears:

• Being Alone: What rattles him the most is the fear of having no one close to him, no one to share his true self with.
  
  
• Having no Purpose: While having certain goals in his life Azrael has no concrete idea what exactly to do with it and that scares him.
  
  
• Insects: Especially flying ones or big ones. Even more so if they are both. Bugs just creep him out.
