Our organisation is made up of various men, and woman with goals and skills very similar to your own, and as such we will it is only in our best interest to extend this opportunity out to you. If you are interested, please meet one of our associates at Beanstalk Village at 7 PM. We hope to see you there.’
That’s what the letter said… Baird wasn’t one to receive letters. Or at least often and from someone not a ‘lover’. Even those letters had dwindled to non as he started cutting off contact with some of the people he tried to seduce, only kept in touch with at least one person. One of the Rune Knights that worked often at the Magic Council. They were wrapped around his finger so tight, he could just send a letter saying nothing more than ‘hi’ and receive a detailed report of what’s going on in the magic council that he could exploit. Bringing his thoughts back to the letter, Baird tapped his chin. Would this be worth it? A test for something? What exactly is the test for? A curiosity was starting to get the better of him as he read the letter over once again. Maybe he’d check it out. Included with the letter was a second one, with a ring in a little packet. He was to wear it when he went to the meeting, and how to use this ring. Apparently it could make him look different. That was interesting.
After reaching Beanstalk Village, he takes out his flute and begins to play a whimsical tune on it. He arrived there looking like one of his favorite friends he knew. Jester. Red hair and looking rather clownish with the face paint on. He wore his own monk robes though. How he missed the tomfoolery he had with Jester back at Nightmare. Maybe he would go out and find Jester to play again. He needed to focus on what was at hand for the time being though. What would he need to do here? This village was too quiet. It needed some screams here and there. Or at least an audience to hear him play. A smile was on his face as he thought of that. As he thought of an audience, he started changing up his song a bit to play something a bit more fitting for himself. The tune started to pick up and he mused to himself while he played the new tune. Already, he was deciding if this was boring he’d be leaving the person high and dry. He needed some fun, especially after Nightmare disappeared into the night for a second time. Strangely enough, he missed the guild he came to originally. It was where he was able to express his creativity like it was nothing and able to infiltrate wherever he wished. The memories there he felt he could cherish, especially meeting Jester and Yuiisai there. The thought of Yuiisai made him almost falter in his music as he blushed. She was a beauty he missed. She was off to Midi or wherever to do some sort of soul searching or some random thing like that.
First up on his agenda, finding out what this organization that apparently wants him was. Would they meet his needs as well? Would they let him play his music as he wished? Would they let him be him? Would this be a… he shuttered at the thought, an actual business organization that needed him in a suit and tie often? He finished his song and hissed to himself. He should just leave now. This already wasn’t rubbing him the right way. Reaching his left hand up, he rubbed under his left eye, where his guild tattoo for Nightmare used to be, both versions of the tattoo that is. He honestly felt naked looking in a mirror without it now. But, it’d be worse without his ability to have his instruments. Looking at the flute, Baird slowly slipped out the sword and smirked to himself. Maybe he could have a bit of his own fun here while he waited for this ‘associate’ he was supposed to meet, that is, if they weren’t already there waiting for him and he was just in the wrong area.
