As someone who purchases items semi regularly from the IotM, and who personally tries to only purchase one thing at a time, I'm against this change.
ItoM is a gamble. That's what it is, and what it's always been. Mythal and I have both missed out on things we really wanted in past sales (moreso him than me), and we usually only purchase things that require real money through CC, but as much as it sucks we know that's how it goes. If someone dedicates their time to waiting until the exact second the items are free, often times in the middle of the night and losing sleep to make sure they get those items, then more power to them. They earned it.
This is not the first month that people have purchased more than one item, and usually there are a couple people every month that purchase more than one item. It's never been an issue before, so I don't see why it's an issue now. There are people who miss out on items they want every month because others get to it faster, but they don't complain because they know that's how the IotM works.
I know it sucks to lose out, especially when spending with CC, but again that's part of the risk that's being taken. When I donate CC, I understand that unless I am purchasing from the VIP shop where the items are stagnant, I could have donated all that money and not get the thing I was hoping for in return. But that's the choice I made because I know that's how the IotM operates. If I didn't want to risk my real money, I wouldn't donate it here in the first place. I'd spend it on other things I could be buying in the real world.
And honestly I think that's a point that needs to be brought up here. These are fictional items on a website on the internet. Under a setting where, as Artemis already pointed out, new items just as unique and awesome as the last are put out every month. The jewel people use isn't real money. The CC people spend is, but again as I just said, that's a gamble that we agree to take whenever we donate that money. If that's not a risk you're comfortable with, don't take it.
