Maiden Snatcher! (TehDMCmaniac & Leapflight)

The city of Magnolia was well-known for it's calm atmosphere and relaxed life style, meaning that it fit flawlessly in the image of a "perfect city" in the eyes of many. For a good reason, too. As the passage of noon seemed prolonged by the golden light shone from above, no man nor woman stood outside on the streets, choosing to instead rest within their domains until the draining sun climbed it's way down, closer to the distant horison.
There was, however, a single dynamic thing within that static landscape. Something which had a tendency to always stand out no matter where it went. Not that he was trying to mend that, though.

While the Magnolia did seem barren on ground level, there certainly was more life above, on the rooftops. From in between the chimneys and pointy canopy a certain figure was running towards a destination on it knew. Grinningly proudly, the expression showing so much more than pride, the man lept from roof to roof, his cyan trench coat gliding upon the winds as he did so.
Even though seemingly pointless, his ardor had a cause, so did the desire to run. Empowered by the knowledge of what's to come, the cyan knight, Aegis, could not help but hurry onward. It had been a while since he last went on a mission, so consequentially it had been a while since he last crossed swords with an enemy and needless to say, as with many knights, crossing swords with another is amongst his favourite forms of entertainment. That day, however, he wasn't going to do that. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that he wasn't going to cross swords with a foe. Indeed, it was finally time for him to do something else.
"Haha! Gun practice, atlast!"
Long, long ago, the knight created rather struct rules for training. Well, they weren't that much rules as they were a plan. He was determined to become the strongest, so the young man created a detailed schedule for training, the only exceptions to which were emergency situations where he was forced to give a fight his all and even though the plan was highly effective, there certainly were times when he hated it. Thankfully, one such time was at it's end.

There was, however, another reason why Aegis was in such extraordinarily high spirits. The mission he was on was one where he's tasked with saving a girl who was kidnapped by what appeared to be a rather lonely vulcan. Wether or not things were as simple as that was something the knight was going to find later on, but what mattered to him at that time was that he would have a partner. He probably didn't realise it at that time, perhaps he didn't want to, but Aegis was so happy exactly because he would not be alone. Loneliness has been his companion his entire life and even though he always claimed to be used to it, deep within his heart existed the longing for the company of another.

"Woo!" - the cyan knight's cheerful cry as he leapt forward from the last roof along his way. Strangely enough, he was so enthused he didn't even bother noticing the fact that he was jumping off of a building, something not many people with a fear of hights would do.
As the distance to the ground diminished, Aegis' angled approach resulted in a surprisingly smooth landing, his feet skidding across the soft dirt of the forest entrance, cushioning the fall further. As the knight clad in his signature bright cyan trench coat slid to a halt, his equally cyan eyes scanned the area infront, revealing the figure of a girl several metres ahead.

Without much thought, the knight walked forward with a carefree smile, approaching the girl within seconds.
"Yo! I'm Aegis, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

Drip Drop Drip Drop

The sound of rain, falling lightly down on the forest of the East. The sun was at its peak, and the forest of Magnolia was as still as a mouse. Only the birds could be heard, their sweet sudden sound make Ebony grin. Ebony turned, her brown ponytail swishing in the air. Stomp, stomp. The sound of incoming creatures could be heard a mile away. Ebony, not wanting to battle before her first mission, ran up to the first tree she could see, climbing it swiftly and sitting in the fork. Two Vulcans, a smaller muscular one and a large, disorientated one. She couldn't catch what they were saying, but they seemed to be arguing. Amused by the large dumb creatures, Ebony broke off a tree branch, throwing it at the large one of the two. It hit him squarely in the butt, sending the monster into a chorus of screams. Trying to contain her laughter, Ebony lost her footing, sending her to fall and swiftly grab onto a branch, hanging mid-air in a tree.
The Vulcan's turned, looking angrily into Ebony's eyes. They muttered something, she could probably guess what it was before she jumped away. She reached for another branch, as she swung from tree to tree, branch to branch. Ebony was much like a monkey, she loved the trees and the forest, but this was a chase. Oh how Ebony loved a chase.
Soon enough, Ebony was far in front, and she decided it would be safe to return on foot. Carefully examining the area, she decided it was alright. So, she travelled on foot, hopefully, she wouldn't have to waste he magic on some over-sized brutes like those.

Drip Drop Drip

You could hear the rain slowing and the scourging sun set down on her skin, making her cringe. "So...hot"
It seemed like the forest treetops purposely let the sun in to annoy her. Frustrated she stood up from where she was sitting, admiring the last drops of rain. The last droplets of water dried on her skin and her throat went dry. But she was not upset, as today was the day of a mission. A mission for where she, and another that she did not know of, must find the Maidens and defeat the Vulcans! A Vulcan, she saw one earlier this morning that was trying to chase her. How could I be so stupid! she muttered virtually kicking herself with annoyance. She wasn't with it today, although, a bit of Vulcan Hunting may seem to cheer her up. She was meant to meet this ‘partner’ of hers somewhere at the edge of Magnolia’s forest.
At the edge of the woods, there was a gate. It said, in big old, rustic letters that had turned brown over the years due to the elements of rain and water, “Magnolia’s Eastern Forest Exit” while on the other side it said, “Magnolia’s Eastern Forest Entrance”. This must be the place Ebony thought as she opened the gates and walked towards the city of Magnolia. She had been here so often, being a member of Fairy tail and all, she knew this place like the back of her hand. Sitting on the park’s bench, someone called out. She turned her head, to see a man.

"Hi, I am Ebony, and yes, your partner fror this mission"

In contrast to his overly enthusiastic greeting, the girl who introduced herself as Ebony seemed practically disinterested. Faced with her demeanor, the knight had little choice but to immediately compose himself.
"Ah... indeed, it would appear so."
Having calmed down somewhat, Aegis looked at his partner. She was a girl of small stature, but it didn't appear like she was disproportionate. Her hair was a pretty brown colour with the exception of a couple of her locks, as they were a golden yellow. Her eyes were a deep blue as if ponds reflecting the clear sky.
Faced with such a scene in favourable light, the knight couldn't help but be captivated by Ebony's features.
'It's like we're polar opposites.' - he thought, aware of the fact that the most obvious counterpoint between them would be the rather thematic "opposition" between the colours they brandish, one side bearing warm while the other cold ones.

Realising what he is doing, Aegis lightly shook his head.
"Anyway, we're supposed to go into the forest in search of this so-called "Maiden Snatcher"." - the cyan-haired mage began saying - "I suppose in situations like thiese it's best to act as soon as possible in order to give the criminal little opportunity to get away with it. So that being said..."
The cyan knight walked a few metres past his partner and, turning back to face her, gestured towards the forest.
"...Shall we go?"
As he spoke so a light breeze blew past them, fluttering the knight's coat and revealing the dark clothing underneath.
