New alien in town

Gliding a few feet above ground level, Kloria had the shuttecraft on autopilot as she was studying the terminal beside her, acclimating herself with acquired data. Since setting up camp for her people, the Exdraxians soon learned that they would need to be able to get things from Earthland, namely currency. After sending her shuttle on an autopilot to learn of the world,  "So, can you explain it to me again what the functions of a mage are?" The automated computer responded in a masculine voice. "They take requests of various tasks, typically involving some form of combat or not. Mages often combine their services and join forces, most notably by the guild system. There are two known major classes of guilds, legalized and non-legalized 'Dark Guilds', while there are ambiguous numbers of independent guilds that are not dark, but are not approved by the governing body." Kloria leaned back on her chair as she saw the castle ahead, curious as to what was ahead of her.

According to the automated computer, who she named Sylo, Mage work was the best way for Kloria to earn jewels, and by joining with one of their guilds, she would be able to easily adapt by interacting with all sorts of characters and learn about the nature of Earth-Land. Eventually she was close to town and took back manual control, parking along side a path to down as the shuttle floated Seven feet move the ground, stationary as she left the ship in standby mode. She left the cockpit and stood on the small circular platform before pressing a button lowering the platform. "I will be back in due time."


The platform descended to ground level and eventually Kloria stepped off onto the group and took a few steps forwards out from underneath the craft, turned around to face it as she snapped her fingers. the platform raised back into the shuttle while the green visor lit up for a second and beeped twice. Kloria stretched her arms and legs, feeling every crack as she was glad to be able to move freely again.  She then proceeded to walk down the path into town as she looked around, she could see residential and commercial areas, but no clear path in regards to Sabertooth.

Eventually she walked halfway across a bridge and stopped, doing what any Exdraxian would do in her situation, call out to a automated guardian. "So what do I gotta do to get into Sabertooth? Throw myself to the biggest triog in the woods? Hunt down a boar? Trial keeper?  After a moment of silence, she sighed as she remembered she was no on Exdrax. "Forgot, Earth-landians don't have those. This planet as a lot going good and a lot going wrong for them."

The black haired mage had been in the Red Dragon Inn, enjoying a glass of wine, when she heard people talking about a strange thing flying in the sky that wasn't a dragon that they were used to seeing, or any of the Sabertooth members who had the ability to fly either. She sets her glass down and asks the bartender to put it on her tab as she get up. She was wearing a white blouse underneath a black, high collar, short sleeved tail coat with a bow at the back over a minty green skirt and white stockings on. She was dressed in what she considered professional attire, and made sure her walk matched it too, even with a little white ferret resting upon her shoulders. Her short black hair was pushed back behind her ear as she fixed her blue glasses and walked out of the Inn to investigate this flying object people were gossiping about. She blinks as it didn't take her too too long to actually see the craft, and makes her way towards it.

The white creature had jumped off of her masters shoulders, and begun running through the streets ahead of her. The girl didn't seem to mind as she watched her head on ahead of her. There was trust there. The ferret had managed to run fast enough to watch the strange object let someone out of it, and quietly followed them a bit. As the person mentioned Sabertooth, her head perked up and she let up some strange squeaks and quickly ran out from her hiding place as she ran around them for a moment before running off to find her master. Regardless if the person followed her or not, she went on ahead to find her master, and would drag her along to wherever she should meet up with the new person. The little ferret scurried up her companions clothes and put herself back on her shoulders. The black haired girl smiles sweetly. "I suppose there's something important if Noya lead me to you, yes? I'm Gaia Sabin, an Ace of Sabertooth." She holds out her hand to this new person. "This little creature is Noya. I hope she didn't disturb you, or frighten you." The ferret looks to the new person with her wide eyes, wondering how this person would react to her master. "I don't think I've seen your face around here before... are you new?" She was also thinking she needed to talk to others more, even though she already had broken out of that shy shell, she still had her bouts of her being shy on occasion.

Wearing an olive green t-shirt and a new khaki skirt with white tennis shoes, Victoria was filling a gap in the staff at Red Dragon Inn. She was slinging drinks for the locals, who were taking a liking to her. It was a good day so far because all the patrons liked their drinks and Marceline was doing well in her new environment... she was making drinks with the ingredients in perfect proportions and serving them as fast as they were made, which pleased the patrons even more.

Victoria looked up during a lull in orders and saw Guild Ace Gaia Sabin request that the wine she drank be put on her tab and then suddenly leave the tavern. Her curiosity got the better of her after she heard the locals talking about a strange spacecraft that had been sighted in the skies. Were they under attack by those weird "Elders" Ryo told her about when she joined? Victoria was about to find out.

"Hey Marceline, could you cover for me for a few minutes?" Victoria asked the raven. Marceline flashed a thumbs-up and Victoria raced outside to follow Gaia in case the entity was hostile and the Ace needed some help.

-Outside the inn-

Victoria rushed outside to find Gaia conversing with a blonde woman who was taller than both of the Sabertooth mages. She looked like an athletic type who ran marathons before lunch and completed a triathlon after dinner. She was not Mr. Earthland buff, but she looked to be strong enough that bench-pressing a motorcycle was well within her abilities. The blonde had to be the owner of that unidentified spacecraft because none of the current Sabertooth roster owned a spacecraft.

"Hi there, stranger. I'm Victoria Sheridan!" Victoria greeted the blonde with a wave.

Kloria thought she heard the sound of something tapping behind her, she looked over her shoulder only to see a furry small figure scurry away. She wondered if she scared it off, but it didn't seem hostile, she found no use chasing down a rodent that size. She then stood there as she was fiddling with one of her wristbands, trying to figure out where she hid a particular item. However she then heard footsteps approach as she looked at the rather smaller girl. Kloria found her cute, and she finally got a good look a the rodent and found it was adorable. "A tamed rodent, how cute." She saw the offer for a handshake, she knelled down slightly and accepted the gesture. "Yeah, I'm sorta new around here, in more ways then you think."

She stood up as she saw the other female approaching, still rather small compared to herself. She started to wonder what the average height was for human females. She figured easier to explain to more then one person at a time if she can avoid it. Also it gave her time to focus on her phrasing and she did not want to constantly repeat that she's not human all day. "How do I say this in your tongue... Descre- I mean hello, I am Kloria Xicor. I am sorta new to this planet, looking to join the mage guild known as Sabertooth."

Kloria then felt it was odd that two mages including one with a rank of sorts came out to find her. She looked down the path she came and recalled that she was the only around with such a vehicle as her shuttlecraft and how locals were wary of it. While mages are not soldiers, anyone with something to protect would be wary of any threat. There was nothing like Exdraxian tech in the area that Kloria noticed, which is a reality she knew she would have to deal with in the future. She turned back to the ladies. "Sorry if I caused a disturbance or broke some Earth-Land law by parking where I did. Don't worry, it's just a standard class, no armaments."

A small smile was on Gaia's lips as she noticed Victoria coming with her, doesn't hurt to have someone with you just in case. When Noya was called a rodent, the little ferret growls rather viciously at her. Gaia clears her throat. "Noya's a ferret, apart of the weasel family..." She tells the girl while trying to hide her irritation about the comment as well. She glances to Noya, smirking slightly. "You heard her mention 'Sabertooth' before, didn't you? That's why you took me here." She couldn't help but snicker to her companion, rubbing the white furred head a bit. She let her burnt sienna eyes look back up to Kloria, and nods slightly. It was interesting to hear someone was 'new to this planet', but thens he wondered how she heard of Sabertooth. She tilts her head a little and raised an eyebrow as she had taken her hand back after the handshake.

While the woman was tall for the average woman here on earthland, Gaia was actually rather short as well. Kind of ironic in her opinion. She looks behind the woman when she looked where she came from, and taps her chin a bit. "I don't think there are any laws for parking where you have... but I think people are mainly curious about you and your... vessel? You said you were wishing to join Sabertooth... can I ask you why? I'm simply curious, is all." She was reaching her hand down to the little messenger bag she typically wore on her body to hold her tarot cards. She had a few other little things in there as well, one being her guild stamp for new members.

Victoria watched the interaction between Kloria and Gaia continue. The brunette was briefly worried when Kloria called Noya a tamed rodent... Gaia was fond of that creature and would probably take umbrage to her pet being called something like that. Victoria would have to wait and see what came of that line of conversation, but in the meantime she was content to stand back and let the ace do the talking.

Victoria was glad to hear that the sleek spaceship was not armed because it could easily wreak a lot of havoc if its owner did not feel like playing nice. It looked heavily armored for its type and possibly had shielding, which meant that even Victoria's strongest weapons could only scratch the paint. Even a Bunker Buster rocket would not do very much damage to something that sturdy. She wondered how technologically advanced Kloria's civilization was.

'I'm curious too." Victoria laconically chimed in. She too wanted to know why Kloria wanted to join Sabertooth... not that the brunette had a problem with that. New members were always welcome.

Kloria could see that the furry creature clearly took offence to the lack of information Kloria had about the weasel family. She didn't have much encounters with a diverse species of mammals on Exdrax than what Earth-Land can provide. "My apologies, not many small critters like that where I'm from." Kloria noted that the second girl happened to also be a decent foot shorter than herself. She started to wonder how Exdraxian averages were compared to humans, but that was a question for another time.  

For the meantime, she was glad she didn't break any local laws, just stood out as an oddity for piloting her craft. She was desensitized to such a thing but she had to think from the natives perspective to grasp how odd it was, even then she had little frame of reference. However when the two girls asked her the question she could've guessed, Kloria decided it was best to be up front with the truth,knowing it won't hurt her worse then deception.  "Well, that's a long story, let's see, how can I summarize this briefly. I am not human, I am what you would call an alien from a now destroyed planet known as Exdrax. Due to circumstances, the colony ship was damaged and losing power, we crashed less then one of your months ago. "

She gestured to her shuttle figuring better to explain that part as well. She felt she should be as open as possible if she wanted to earn the trust of the guild.  "We lost a fair bit of our tech, fitting only what we could with everyone in our smaller shuttle crafts. Great for short term exploration, or long term of parties of less then four men. While we came with questionably enough materials like food and shelter to sustain us, it is not quite enough. for a long term period while we continue our search for a new home world."

Kloria took a slight breath, letting her story sink in with the two girls. "A select number of Exdraxians are seeking employment due to the nature of power of this world, in what you would call currency. After some studying, it was determined that to achieve my objectives as well as acclimate to this world for the meantime, it would be best to join a mage guild." Kloria wasn't lying, but she didn't want to explain everything. Her eyes were focused as Gaia seemed to be searching her bag for something particular. Kloria thought nothing of it, but her instincts caused green particles to emit from her arm however once she caught on she tightened her fist for a second as the particles seemed to withdraw back in before they formed shape.


"They are allies, if you want to earn their trust, stay unarmed. You know nothing of their magic, she could just be reaching for cosmetics.""

Victoria continued to let Gaia do the talking because the latter was an official representative of the guild and the former did not want to undermine the chain of command. She also wanted to hear Kloria's story, which was an interesting one that involved survival and adapting to a world that was alien to her. It was not every day that Victoria got to meet an alien from outer space. She always thought that aliens were the little guys with gray skin, big heads, and large black eyes.

Victoria wondered what made Kloria choose Sabertooth as her guild of choice. Had the blonde done some research on it and made an informed decision or had she chosen Sabertooth because it was close to where she had landed her spaceship? The brunette did not know and was not going to interrupt the flow of the conversation to find out. If she waited long enough Kloria might just tell them during the conversation.

Kloria noted that her answers seemed to not satisfy the woman, as it was not her reasons for being on the planet she wanted. However, she caught the gaze as her struggle with the Axo-Canon was noted. Normally a rare sight, but given the fact that the last few times she was on a planet was to hunt for meat or gauge potential for hosting as a new home, she is still adjusting to not being on full alert at the drop of a pin.


She tapped the band around her right wrist as the band around turned white before green, and a small dark green holographic screen appeared with an interface. The content was written in strange symbols, Exdraxian text. "Well, we didn't have much time to analyze. Syba, the AI of my vessel reported that during surveys it was attacked by 20 different parties, 6 humans, 14 animals. I considered the Rune Knights as I am trained in the arts of hunting, combat, and over the last few earth years I had my and discipline and disciplinary skills tested. But one of my goals requires the flexibility a legal guild offers as opposed to a militaristic party, and can be easily misinterpreted as a vendetta."

Kloria tapped a few icons and brought up what seemed to be a list. "I figured best I joined a Legal guild, didn't want to end up breaking any of your laws by joining a guild with illegal activity. Travel time had a little part. But quite frankly, I suppose ultimately I'm looking to learn what more there is to world then what little part I've known, and want to find a cause beyond the one I have, and allies to fight along side. Even among my kind, I am a lone warrior, the other warriors are old or young, found their own groups."

Kloria stretched her arms for a second before she addressed the second query of the smaller human, almost laughing as from her perspective the question was just strange. "Magic? Well, yes of course. You see, Exdraxians mixed tech and magic, and I use the fruits of all those centuries of hard work. " This time the green particles emerged frm Kloria's arm, rushing out and taking shape before solidifying into the Axo-Canon. "This is one of the more common forms of combat on our species. The canons. Honestly I'm more surprised a species lacking a Decka is capable of 'magic'."

From inside the Axo-Canon, four quick snaps could be heard as Kloria cracked her knuckles while forcing the canon to dissolve back into her arm. "Anything else you want to know? It is a custom of my people to admit everything regarding intentions, but my story, is way too long. You see, Exdraxians have a long lifespan, and it is hard for us to explain ourselves simply. But I'd love nothing more then a cultural discussion later on."

Victoria continued to listen to Kloria and Gaia talk and learned more of the tall blonde's story, including how she came to arrive on Earthland. She let Kloria talk in peace and show her fancy alien tech to Gaia, who was suitably impressed by the technology that was displayed. Victoria was kind of impressed too because it was so shiny and high-tech and the brunette's experience with high tech was limited, to say the least.

She was more of a decoration than a serious participant in the events. She was mostly there to make sure that Gaia was OK, but the Ace did not need much help since the alien was friendly. Victoria just hung back and let Gaia do the talking... the Ace could handle herself.

Victoria flashed a thumbs-up to Gaia that meant "You've got this." How the alien would react was another matter entirely. Gaia could smooth things over if the tall blonde took offense and prevent a simple misunderstanding from snowballing into an interstellar incident.

The Axo-Canon dematerialized after Gaia had admitted she was impressed, the particles entered her arm as various points along it glowed before the light dimmed down. She was glad to go to a bar, but explaining the spiritual organ was going to be a pain. However the tall blonde was glad for the experience to be avoided as she was queried on where she wanted the mark of the guild. She figured her right arm was out of the question, followed by midriff, leaving one option that seemed to fit. She figured that it would be easier if she stood given the height difference.

She pointed at a point on the inner side of her thigh to put her mark, she figured that would be the best point to place her mark. "Right here if you wouldn't mind. color is of no consequence."

Out of the corner of her eye she thought she saw a black shimmer, with a blue glare staring at her among the woods in the distance before it vanished. She would wait till the Ace was done, not sure if it was true or not, however she did speak a quick sentence seemingly to herself, muttering under her breath. "Syba Nocon Asco Exdraxa lo neor." ["Syba, Scan for anything of Exdrax Origin."] The computer promptly responded as her right wristband turned yellow for a moment, responding in the same language. "Sip."["None."]

Since neither party said anything, Kloria figured it couldn't hurt to ask, but she didn't want to be sober at the moment. Although paying for it would be a different story. "So, there's a bar around here? I'd rather continue this in a bar, no offence but you humans are quite, small.

Victoria was interested to hear that the newcomer wanted a drink. If alcohol was what she wanted, the tall blonde had come to the right place. Victoria could make drinks in a hurry and still have them come out right. There was one small question. Well, two questions, really.

The first one concerned whether or not Kloria was familiar with Earthland's variety of alcoholic drinks. The second question was whether or not Earthland's alcohol was poisonous to Kloria's species. The brunette did not want to end up accidentally killing Sabertooth's newest member and having to explain what happened to Ryo, Kite, and the police.

"So, Kloria... what drinks do you like? Can you drink Earthland alcohol without any problems?" Victoria asked the tall blonde. Kloria was taller than both Victoria and Gaia, which made things just a little awkward. The brunette had to literally look up to the new member, but that was OK. The smaller girl had to look up to a lot of people because of height differences.

"Bar, Tavern, in my former line of work there was really no difference. As long as there is alcohol and idiots getting drunk who slip up things, or a decent mood I don' really care." Kloria followed the two, interested to learn that Victoria worked at the Tavern. She supposed that it would be cheaper for guild members to work at the bar. However she was curious about the potency of Earth-Land alcohol. She recalled the stories she heard from the few Exdraxians who visited a town, and how disappointed they were. "I can handle anything you got, Exdraxian alcohol is much stronger by average. A friend of mine shared some of
our ale with a human, who, well, luckily the count of manslaughter was dropped."

As Kloria entered, she was amazed by the scenery of the place, she enjoyed the rustic vibe. Compared to the makeshift bar she was going to for the past few years, this was a great change. She looked at Victoria and was not sure what she wanted. "I'll take whatever you recommend."

A looming thought was at the back of her mind, and since she had been in the presence of the Ace. She figured she couldn't just ignore the possibility that her name could be in great jeopardy depending on how the game gets played. "Look, I don't want to let my problems cause trouble for the guild or anyone, this is my own business but I feel as though I should say this now. I have a twin sister by the name of Nessa Xicor, who has been driven crazy by a certain power and long story short has a record of genocide, attempted genocide, stealing and use of forbidden powers, and at present at large for kidnapping. There is very little reason to suspect she's in this country, but, yeah. Once you meet her, you'll be able to tell the differences if you struggle to see the physical ones."

Gaia mentioned that someone had made a form of alcohol that was too powerful for normal humans to drink. Victoria was all ears. She was keenly interested in this intoxicating innovation that another Sabertooth member had created. The bartending brunette would ask more about it later because Kloria mentioned that she had an older sister with a penchant for genocide, which was unfortunate. Members of Kloria's race sounded like an interesting group of people who Victoria could talk to over a beer or two or three.

"If your sister pays a visit and wants to start killing people, we'll be sure to send her packing. I'll help get rid of her alongside the other guild members." Victoria assured Kloria that Sabertooth would handle the genocidal alien if the new member's sister ever showed up. If Victoria, the other guild members, and the Aces could not handle Nessa, then Kite and Ryo could. If all else failed, Ryo's fellow Wizard Saints could do the job.

"So you can drink anything human, huh?" Victoria asked Kloria. Gaia excused herself to go do some Ace things, a reason which Victoria understood very well. The bartending brunette would have to look around for the special alcohol made by Yuusai because she wanted to serve Kloria something strong enough for her species and Victoria wanted to try some. She might need to let Gaia know what she was doing before sampling the special alcohol in case the brunette reacted to it in a very bad way.

"Would you like a drink now or would you like it later?" Victoria asked the tall blonde alien.
