Job Title: Nonresidential Evil
Rank: D
Job Location: Cedar
Solo Word Count: 500
Group Word Count: 1000
Additional Requirements: Must be part of the Special Ops Corp. of the Rune Knights
Job Description: No time for foolin’ around. We’ve gotten reports that the local Rune Knight headquarters in Cedar has gone dark. The citizens that sent us the report have also explained that before the branch closed itself off, there was mysterious flashes that could be seen through the windows. The doors have been all barred from the inside so you’ll need to find a way in and then figure out what happened.
Once you’ve found a way in, you’ll discover that many of the Rune Knight officers are dead. The headquarters is in shambles and bloodied bodies are strewn throughout the place. But there is a dread in the air that you can’t seem to shake -- like you’re not alone here. As you look through the building, you’ll come across the shambling bodies of some of the Knights. They’re definitely dead but that isn’t keeping them from trying to take a bite out of you! Fend them off and find the source of this necromancy!
Reward: D Rank Experience and 5000 jewel

Enemy Attacks: Your basic Rune Knight officer but brought back from the dead. They don’t seem to have any magic but their physical strength is far beyond normal means. They’ll claw, scratch and attempt to grab you and then clamp their undead teeth around your neck. - Enemy: Obelisk
- Enemy Rank: Normal
Enemy Stats (HP/MP/Mag-Dmg/Phy-Dmg/Speed): D Rank
Enemy Attacks: In the basement of the Rune Knight headquarters, you discover a black and purple obelisk. It is absolutely bleeding magical power, meaning that it is the source of the undead. When you touch it or try to attack it, it begins to glow and release jets of shadow magic and corrupted light magic. Break the obelisk and undo the spell! - Enemy: Shadow
- Enemy Rank: Strong
Enemy Stats (HP/MP/Mag-Dmg/Phy-Dmg/Speed): C Rank
Enemy Attacks: When the obelisk breaks, the air seems to come to a gentle calm once more. But this only lasts for a moment before the remnants of the magic pillar melt into a liquid and combine on the floor. From it emerges a creature, looking like a humanoid but completely covered in an inky black substance. Round, piercing yellow eyes stare back at you with an empty void of caring for your life. Fight it off! It is quite agile and moves about the room swiftly. Every attack you land seems to absorb into its form and any attempt to remove limbs or cut it down will be met with a healing factor that revives it over and over. Fight to survive and eventually the remaining magic power will fade, causing the creature to melt into nothingness.
Reward: D Rank Experience and 5000 jewel
