Name: Bay Ebon
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Birthday: 6/8
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: Cross shaped Irises
Personality: When he wakes in the morning, Bay is calm, and when he sleeps at night, he is calm. In fact, if there is one single word that can be used to describe him, it is calm. This is not to say that he can't get emotional, just that he will likely do so calmly. After all, he is calm.
In truth, it's not that he takes things too seriously, but quite the opposite. It's almost as if the universe itself is amusing to him. And yet, he remains just so slightly detached, choosing to observe its absurdity, rather than partaking alongside. Perhaps this is a leftover from his time as a bartender, or perhaps it's an absurdity all his own.
He is also privy to many a secret, after all, it's unsurprising how much you'll hear from someone with their inhibitions slightly out of whack. True, a great deal of what one might learn is just drunken nonsense, a lesson that was firmly taught after one Mage went on for several hours about frogs of all things, and the rest must always be taken with a grain of salt, but the secrets of the world may be hidden between a drunkard's breaths.
However, the greatest secret he would ever learn, was how to take a step back. A lesson that has served him well in all walks of life. True, the world may seem to close its doors, but if one were to take a step back, they would see that just as many have opened, as have closed. But it's important to note the opposite is just as true. When the world may seem to be at your fingertips, it's for the best to get a reality check as soon as possible, before you release that you have no options left.
After all, no one is all powerful. Just as the weak rise, the mighty fall, and everyone loves rooting for the underdog. Unless said dog is rabid, but in truth, the point has little affect on here or there. Still though, it is important to note that even gods can fall, and that we are far more fallible than they. It is prideful both to think yourself better than the system, and to think your system infallible. Bay has long concluded that he must question, and should he find that the system fails, leave it. After all, the world is hardly black and white, and even its myriad of colors are subject to change.
Until that time however, he's more than happy to do his part, and perhaps make a couple martinis while he waits.
Likes:
•Bartending-While he used it primarily for information gathering, Bay admittedly has a fondness for mixing drinks.
•Systems-Specifically when they're working well, as everyone involved benefits.
•Secrets-Secrets, or just rare information in general have always been something Bay enjoys.
Dislikes:
•Pride-Pride has always seemed too large of a balancing act to Bay. Too much, and you topple, too little, and you crumble.
•Systems-Specifically when they fail, as the often bring down those involved with them, all while randomly lashing out, mostly, but not totally, against those who choose to exit said system.
•Impatience-Possibly the single most hazardous thing in existence. Impatient fools, who never bothered to either look at or learn of the bigger picture, can be traced back to the beginning of all problems.
Motivations:
•The Perfect Beverage-A mere story he heard near the beginning of his career, the thought of a perfect beverage stuck with him, and has stayed at the back of his mind ever since.
•Knowledge-Easily the most useful weapon in existence. A single morsel of it can be the difference between peace, and all out war.
•Self Interest-Anyone who thinks they are not motivated by such, is a fool. The only difference is what one might be interested in. Bay himself is particularly attached to his head.
Fears:
•Ignorance-If knowledge is the most useful weapon, it's in part due to how easily concealable it is. Applied properly, it's an invisible blade. A blade that could already be at your throat.
•Lack of Control-He craves power, in all its forms, not to use it, but so he will not find it lacking when needed.
•Change-A truly blind and fickle thing. While he does attempt to harness it when he can, he has no illusions about its nature. When even gods fall to its claws, how could he hope to fare its wrath?
