Magic
Magic Name: Nothingness
Magic Type: Bond Magic / Solitary Benefit
Description:
The One Who is Not. That is the name of the creature of emptiness, a creature made up entirely of void. It has no form, no soul, no shape, at least not physically, and definitely no motives. This creature is merely nothing, and spreads nothingness to return all to it. The closest thing it has to “motivation” would be to return the world - nay, the universe - to its origin as pure nothingness, but that is all it can hope to be surmounted to. Other than that, this creature is simply an entity. Nothing more, nothing less. Its name, The One Who is Not, is merely a name given to it by stories and legends within Jin’s family, similar to the boogieman or other things of that sort. Instead, the creature has no true name, or if it did its name would merely be “ “. This nameless, faceless creature is the basis of the magic of Jin Suzuka. The bond between Jin and the creature was established through a sort of prayer. Although the One Who is Not isn’t a deity or a demon or anything of that sort, the ritual for summoning it is something akin to that. Jin performed such a ritual, and was temporarily warped to, as Jin describes, a Land of Nothing. There, he knew he encountered the creature. It was a small little light. Once Jin touched it, it entered his body, combining with his mana, and giving it a new makeup. Now Jin’s mana had an affinity for nothingness, and prior to this didn’t have any affinity at all.
The magic works by utilizing the creature of the void as a sort of “second self,” and a connection to the Land of Nothing. Instead of using the magic himself, the creature takes Jin’s mana as a sort of “payment” for its abilities, and then casts the spells. These spells vary in application, but all involve returning something to Nothingness, or accessing the Land of Nothing somehow. The creature of the void is shapeless and faceless, and instead of having one static form or shape, can manipulate its shape and size to a varying degree. In combat, the creature has no direct will of its own, and instead merely listens to Jin due to him supplying it with a sort of fuel through his essence and life force. It is a type of disintegration magic, eating away at what it hits on a physical, spiritual, and astral level - and that includes Jin himself. Despite it being a type of erasure magic, however, that isn’t its only purpose. The creature itself and the land it is from can both be used by Jin to aid in combat.

Unique Abilities:
- Return to Nothingness:
Lore: Jin doesn’t like to use this ability much, but due to the nature of the creature’s hunger and indiscriminate devouring of anything for fuel, he can draw from his own essence as an additional source of power. He can eat away at his own existence to power the creature, even if it means he will eventually disappear.
Effect: Jin can use his HP as a secondary source of mana to cast spells from. He can combine using MP and HP - i.e using 20 MP and 20 HP for a spell - or use all HP if he so desires. Note, all HP taken when using this ability is taken only from “Jin’s” side of the HP, none from the creature’s. - Connection to the Void:
Lore: The One Who is Not resides in the Land of Nothing, not on our plane. As such, it can not be physically harmed from simple material things of that sort. An attack would merely pass through it just as it would normal air. However, this does not mean the creature is invincible. In fact, quite the opposite. To form the bond with Jin, the creature must take refuge within Jin’s body to an extent, that extent being that its connection to the material plane is established through Jin. So, the more damage Jin takes, the more the bond is weakened, until eventually it breaks entirely and it will cease to exist in our world and will completely return to the Land of Nothing.
Effect: Both Jin and the creature share an HP pool that is tied to Jin only. Jin’s “total HP” is a combination of his HP and the creature’s, but they are mutually exclusive. This is not an HP buff to Jin, but rather that all damage he takes is split into 2 different pools, one for the creature and one for himself, divided evenly. For example, if Jin gets hit with a spell that deals 40 damage, he will take 20 damage and the creature will take 20. This comes with the side effect that all healing spells or abilities used on Jin will only heal *his* HP, not the creature’s. All damage dealt to the creature is permanent (in the context of the thread) and can not be healed. Along with that, the above Ability only takes from Jin’s HP. - Ability:
