Frankly, Sorano had doubts about the true origin of the name “Fairy Tail”. Having joined while the guild was already long established, the name was simply a phrase that had been integrated into the daily language of the magical world. Fairy Tail was a big deal – it was the “it” guild of the time, and every legal mage was looking to join. No one really questioned the name of such a big organization, and although the guild’s fame had long since died down, rarely did she hear any questioning about the title. Of course, the girl being the researchaholic she was, Sorano had certainly done some digging through the guild library. Her results hadn’t been the most satisfactory, however. It seemed that one of the guild founders had simply found the pun of the title amusing – and of course, the guild’s secret relation with Tenroujima, home to the fairies that served in the guild hall.

But none of this information was what went through the girl’s head as she strolled through South Gate Park, leaving the nicely paved roads and busy street markets of Magnolia behind in favor of dirt paths and draping trees around her. Breathing in a breath of the air around her, the letter mage looked over to the tabby exceed flying next to her. “What do you think Miss Luna will be like?” The emotionless mage questioned, eyes staring blankly ahead as they walked.

“I dunno. She’s a guild master like you, so I’d expect her to be a pretty mature and responsible person, right?” Hoshi tried to think back to the guild masters she’d known before, and quickly changed her mind. “A-Actually, I take that back. Remembering Heero and Ken, guild masters can be pretty unpredictable and violent too, right? Who knows what Aurora’s leader is like…” The two were woefully uninformed about the woman that Sorano would be mentoring in Solid Script – although they weren’t too worried about it, seeing as the guild master of a legal guild wasn’t likely to pose too much danger to a Wizard Saint. At the same time, there was that strange atmosphere of uncertainty around them. Not knowing what to expect meant that Luna was, at the moment, an absolute mystery to the guildmates.

They reached a small flower garden after a few minutes of walking, noting the presence of the pink-haired woman they were looking for. “Pardon me, miss, are you by any chance Luna Mira, guild master of Aurora? My name is Sorano Granon – I believe you requested my help in learning letter magic?” In a flat, monotonous voice, the letter mage tentatively introduced herself to her mentee-to-be.
