    “Hey! Get back here, thief!”

Trinity took off down the street. In her arms were a few baked goods that she’d just snatched from a street vendor. The owner was hauling after her, determined to catch the young woman and turn her in. She ducked around a corner and straight into a crowded square where she lost herself in the crowd.

Using her magic, she altered her looks. When she’d approached the vendor her hair had been a bright blonde, her eyes blue. Now, with a quick second of focus, her hair turned black as night and her eyes became a deep emerald color. She turned suddenly in the crowd, changing directions. The owner of the store ran right by her, barely stopping to give the dark haired woman a glance as he was busy scanning the crowd for someone with lighter locks. With a relieved look, she made her way casually through the square until she could go down another, less crowded alley.

Finding a place to park herself, she looked at the food in her arms with a small smile. A few had fallen out while she ran, but there was still five pastries left that were filled with meats or fruits. She sat happily on the ground and bit into one, eating it carefully rather than ravenously. A hum of pleasure escaped her lips as the flavors danced in her mouth. The pastries tasted as delicious as they had smelled, and she was glad she’d taken them.

Anyone looking at her would be able to tell how obvious it was that she’d had to have stolen the food. The clothes she was wearing clearly did not belong to her, because they were several sizes too big. They were also dirty like she hadn’t washed them in a while, and like she’d been sleeping outside. As she ate, her magical camouflage faded away to reveal her natural looks. Her hair was half brunette and half pink, with mismatching eyes of the same colors. It was a shame, really, that she was wearing such poor clothes because she was really quite pretty and would have been rather striking in something clean that fit her.

But, she didn’t really seem to notice. Trinity was just happy to have some food, as she could tell from the ache in her stomach that it had been a while since she’d eaten last. Honestly, she didn’t even know where she was or how she’d gotten here. Perhaps after this she’d try to figure it out, but for now a good meal was calling her and she wanted to eat it while it was still hot.

Please forgive me if I don’t talk much at times. It’s loud enough in my head.

    Baird Yuzill

Baird was roaming around the streets of Unity while he was playing his violin happily. He didn't care if the other people liked his rather screechy music or not, he was doing it on purpose this time. But the tune he was doing, the screeches fit perfectly. It was to be a rather haunting song for everyone to hear though, or supposed to be. He had glanced over as he heard someone shouting, and a girl running. "Oh... fun... someone on the run..." He mutters, till he just barely spotted her hair changing colors. A grin suddenly formed on his face as he watched her, continuing playing his haunting song with his instrument of death. He slowly begun to follow her as he played, watching where she was going carefully and making it look like he was just roaming with his instrument, rather than playing for money.

As she went down the alley, he stopped playing, and held his violin in his hand. His hair was pulled back into a ponytail with a braid tied up in it, exposing his face perfectly to the world while he played. He was wearing a black tank top, lined with bright green on the edges. His skinny jeans were black, as well as his boots and studded belt. He had decided to opt out of his vest in his roaming today, it wouldn't have done anything anyways. His boots clopped on the ground as he approached, seeing the girl change once more. That was amusing to him again. "Taste good?" He asks as he leans against the wall, putting his boot on the wall while he raised his violin again, a bit of an aloof, charming song that didn't seem like it fit the type of violin he carried.

"You were pretty sneaky back there... Cute you could do that." He chuckles to her as he winks. "But your clothes you wear are pretty crappy." He didn't care about his guild symbol being exposed on his cheek, this was his town anyways. He then slowly let himself slip down to the ground, glancing at her as he continued to play his violin. A sly smirk was on his face as he looked her over. He then let his hands stop moving, the violin playing on it's own as he was letting his own magic take over. He turned his green eyes on the girl, and smirks softly. "What brings you to my town then... sweetheart?" He grins devilishly, glancing to the food in her arms, before sneaking one and taking a bite out of it. He didn't care if she was goin to eat it or not, he could always take some himself later.

A man turned down the small street. He had long green hair that was pulled back behind his head, and a tattoo of some kind on his face beneath his eye. His clothes were casual and all black, with just a bit of green trim on his shirt, and he carried a violin that looked more like a gun than an instrument. Trinity looked up at him as he approached, curiosity in her eyes. Despite the fact that he was holding a rather threatening looking instrument, she didn’t appear to be alarmed by his presence -- particularly since he was giving her a rather friendly smile.

He asked her about her food, and she smiled and nodded but was quickly distracted by his music. The man raised his odd looking instrument and played it casually. Trinity listened to the music, almost more transfixed on this odd man and his beautiful song more than even on her food. He complimented her sneakiness, revealing that he’d noticed her little theft and how she’d avoided capture, following it up with telling her that her ability to alter her appearance like that was… cute?

She blushed when he winked at her, not quite sure what to do with that. Trinity continued to smile, but it had taken on a bit of a shy tone to it. When he commented on the state of her clothes, she merely looked down at them. It was true, they weren’t very good clothes. They didn’t match, they were a bit dirty and wrinkled, and not the right size for her, but there really wasn’t a whole lot she could do about that right now. In fact, Trinity really wasn’t even sure where or when she’d gotten the garments. It was not the last outfit that she remembered wearing.

Ultimately, his critique of her garments was met with a helpless, slightly embarrassed shrug that conveyed to him she knew they weren’t great clothes, but they were the only ones she had at the moment. Without stopping his playing, the man slipped down the wall and joined her in sitting on the ground. Trinity gasped softly when he pulled his hands away from the instrument and it continued to play, her eyes lighting up with wonder at the trick.

She didn’t seem to mind that he took one of the pastries, more than happy to share if he was hungry as well. He asked her what brought her there, and she blushed again at the pet name. Her hands came up to fiddle timidly with the long strands of her pink and brown hair as she tried to figure out how to communicate to this man that she had no idea how she’d gotten there. A slightly frustrated hum came from her throat as she thought until an idea came to her. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out an iLac with a pink case on it -- an odd item for a clearly homeless woman to have, and yet another thing in her possession that Trinity had no memory of getting, but there it was all the same.

Pulling up an application that she could type into, she wrote out a quick reply and showed him the screen: “Don’t know. Can’t remember how I got here.”

    Baird Yuzill

A smirks was on Bairds face as she was already blushing from his wink. He loved being able to do that to people. It was one of the easiest things in the world, and it sparked such a reaction near immediately for most people. He also couldn't deny he was rather enjoying the smile she was putting on too. It looked nice to him... or nice enough really. As she simply shrugged to his comment about her clothes, he snorts. His ability to play his music without touching the instrument seemed to get her gasping, and he snickered to her reaction. "What...? Haven't seen magic before? Beautiful... ain't it?" He questions as he takes a bite out of the food. "I can show you some more of what I can do..." He was trying to entice her a bit, eyes glancing at her side ways as his grin was near splitting his face.

A frown was on his face as she pulls out her phone, and he reads what she put on it. He had debated on getting an iLac, but it meant too much work, and nothing would probably come out of it for the likes of him. He taps his chin softly for a moment before he reaches his hand over and attempts to drag her chin to make her look at him dead on. If she let him touch her, he would clearly seem pleased she allowed him to do so, if not, he'd pout a bit. Regardless of what she let him do, he shrugs his shoulders. "How about I give you a home then? My guild is looking for some people... and you seem like you'd be an amazing muse to work with... In more ways than one." He snickers softly at that last bit as he winked to her once again, smiling enough to show his teeth to her. "What do you say...? Care to join me...? Or want to go to a hotel? I can get you better clothes probably anyways. More flattering for your figure if you wish?" He let a hand run along her side, pushing the shirt a bit to find where her side was even.

He couldn't help it... he was looking for a bit of a distraction at the same time. Yuii leaving Nightmare was odd to him. He didn't have her throwing her shoes at him or threatening to cut out his 'pretty eyes' every so often. Was this lovesickness? He hoped not. It felt gross.

Trinity had, of course, seen magic before. Lots of it, in fact. But most of her exposure to magic was with more violent sorts. She had rarely seen something quite as beautiful as what he was doing, and she made no attempt to hide her pleasure over it. It made her want to dance. The young woman swayed to the rhythm of the music where she sat, carefree and unafraid to let the music stir her to movement. When he asked her if she thought it was beautiful, Trinity nodded heavily, her smile widening. The man offered to show her more, and she gasped in anticipation, clearly eager to see what else he was capable of.

If he was making an innuendo, it seemed to have gone right over her head.

Her message was received with a slight frown as he took in the fact that she had no recollection of coming to whatever town she was in. Her words got him thinking. When he moved to take her by the chin so she could look at him, Trinity made no effort to pull away. Instead, she held his gaze evenly with wide, trusting, discolored eyes -- and perhaps a slightly deeper blush, particularly when he looked so pleased that she’d let him touch her.

He offered her a… home? Trinity blinked, her brows furrowing a bit though not in any kind of frown. Or at least, nothing aimed at him. It was more of a pensive, sober expression. She’d never really had a home before. All her life, Trinity had been on the move. The closest thing she’d ever had to a home was a steel cage with a straw bed, and even that had moved constantly. She listened intently as he explained that he was part of a guild that was looking for new members, and that he thinks she could be a good muse to work with.

His second wink definitely brought her blush back tenfold, and this time his innuendo did not go over her head. Trinity smiled a bit shyly. To one as adept at flirting as Baird was, he could probably read that she wasn’t at all put off by him flirting with her, she just clearly didn’t have a lot of experience with it and wasn’t quite sure how to respond appropriately. He asked her what she thought, and even offered to get her some better clothes that would be more flattering for her.

When he put his hand along her side, he would find that she actually had quite the petite, lithe form beneath the baggy rags. Once again, she didn’t pull away from him or shy back at being touched, though she did smile a bit sheepishly. Trinity played a little more with her hair as she thought his offer over. Then, she took a couple seconds to type another response on her iLac and hold it up for him to read.

“Would love to have a home. And extremely grateful for clean clothes. If you and your guild would take me I would never forget your kindness. Will try to repay you however I can.” She didn’t say anything one way or another about getting a hotel, though by her mannerisms so far that didn’t necessarily mean she couldn’t be interested. At the moment, her mind was more just focused on the prospect of not having to wake up in the streets every morning, spending her days alone, stealing food and wearing clothes that obviously weren’t meant for her. There was a look of hope and sincere gratitude in her bright eyes as she smiled at him.

“What do I need to do?

The musician tried to hide his grin as he was playing his music. ‘Another fan in the bag.’ He thought, especially since she was dancing slightly to the tune. Her want to see more of his music, made him only grin more. When he had taken her chin in his hand, he had paused a moment to mentally laugh at her blushing to him. He enjoyed doing things like this too much sometimes. He let his fingers softly trail along her jawline before he had offered her a home and pulled his hand away slowly. He waited for her response, watching her facial expressions quietly for a moment.

Her blushing once again got him snickering. He leans his head in close to her slightly. “Don't worry, love… I don't bite much… unless you want me to.” He waits for her to type her response, wondering if he could get another way for her to talk without the iLac. He skimmed over the letters in the screen, and he chuckles quietly. “Flattering you say I'm kind…” he tells her while he moves to stand up. “But I hope when it comes time for you to repay me, you don't back down, doll.” He leans in to kiss her cheek before he stands up fully. He stretches slightly, raising his arms above his head and interlocking his fingers for a moment as he looked around, before a grin spread on his lips. “Let's get you new clothes first…” He grins to her as he holds his hand down for her to grab and stand up with him. “Then we can go elsewhere.” He sticks his tongue out at her, chuckling a bit as he says so. He honestly wanted to take her to a hotel, but the thought of her dressed in something nice had other thoughts running through his heads.

When she was up and ready to go, he lead her through the market streets to one of the closest stores Unity had to offer for clothes. This clothing store had various types of clothing types, from leather, to polyester, cotton, thin fabrics. The collections were small as it wasn't too huge of a store, but it was still plenty to get a few outfits out of it. He walks in casually, and looks over to the girl. “Oh, by the way, sweetheart, what's your name?” He asks curiously, waiting for her to type on her iLac again before he motions around the place. “Name's Baird. Now, pick something delicious to wear that fits you…” He was already eyeing some leather pants and looks to the girl again, trying to gauge her size through the baggy clothes.

Boy, this man was so… charming.

Trinity was beside herself. He was being so sweet to her, saying things no one had ever said to her before and touching her with a gentleness that she’d never experienced. She wasn’t completely ignorant, of course. Though Trinity had zero experience with this kind of flirting herself, she’d certainly seen plenty of other couples and observed some of their interactions with one another. She understood that he was suggesting some physicality between them, though she perhaps didn’t quite understand where that could lead. It didn’t seem to matter as he kissed her on the cheek and stood, offering her a hand to help her up.

She took it with a smile and a nod, silently assuring him that she wouldn’t shirk on repaying him for his kindness. And truthfully, Trinity really didn’t see anything wrong with the idea of that repayment being the form that he was suggesting. All her life her body had been currency, albeit not the type he was asking for. The biggest difference here was that she was being given a choice, which already made this man a thousand times kinder than those she’d known all her life. Plus, he was very attractive; she could still feel the heat on her cheek where his lips had touched her and the sensation had her all sorts of twitterpated. When she thought he wasn’t looking, she even reached up and touched the spot with her fingers and a small smile.

He lead her through the market to a store that specialized in clothes and immediately set to sizing her up to try and get her size. “Trinity” she told him when he asked her name. The man introduced himself as Baird, and that made her smile. She liked his name. Baird instructed her to find something flattering to try on, so she turned and started carefully looking through the options.

It was a little nerve wracking, honestly. She’d never gotten to try new clothes before! Everything she’d ever owned had been stolen or handed down to her, and they were always in very poor condition or not the right size. She didn’t even know what size she was, actually. Eventually, a pretty green dress caught her eye. It was a summer dress that would go down a few inches above the knee and had thing spaghetti straps with a heart shaped top. She pulled out the one that looked like it was most likely to fit her and showed it to him to see what he thought. Presuming he encouraged her to try it on, she would proceed to do so.

Hooking the hanger back on the rack, she pulled the rag up and over her head and deposited it on the floor. She wasn’t exactly familiar with the concept of dressing rooms, so unless Baird tried to stop her she fully intended on stripping out in the open in front of everyone and putting the garment on in full view of all the other patrons there.

Please forgive me if I don’t talk much at times. It’s loud enough in my head.

A Place to be Welcomed Empty Re: A Place to be Welcomed

Post by Faulkner 2nd September 2019, 7:36 pm

The Music Man Comes To Play

The green haired instrument mage chuckles as he watched how this girl was seeming to be charmed so easily by his little motions. She accepted his hand on helping her get up, and he smiled his sly smile to her. He had glanced to her as she touched her cheek, looking away as he smirked to himself. Easy peasy. Maybe he’d be a little nice to her to keep her around a bit. Or to fall back on her in case anything were to happen. She did seem like she was one who he could get some information out of later, and easily too if possible.

At the store, he looked to the iLac and snorted. “That’s a unique name. Pretty.” He smirked to her. He let her go around on her own through the store, and takes a deep breath. “Feel free to get a few outfits.” He looks back and noticed the fitting room. “The fitting rooms are at the back corner.” He was stifling a yawn as he stood looking a little bored. The woman behind the register noticed the mark on his cheek, and nodded. He didn’t have to pay. When he was shown the green dress, the green haired musician smirked and walked up to her. “That looks nice…” He says and wraps his arms around her to see how it would possibly fit. He had used one hand to see where her sides were with the dress over her, then put the dress back to get one a little smaller. “Try that one.” He suggested while stepping back.

When she put the dress back, he was utterly confused and tilted his head to the side a bit. Then she began stripping. His eyes grew wide for a minute as he watched her, and snickered. “Guess dressing rooms are too much of a hassle?” Honestly, he didn’t mind watching her change right there, and others seemed to just look away as she tried the dress on right there. When it was on, Baird stepped forward again and helped her adjust the straps a bit and fix her hair to be out of the dress to see how it fit her. He gave a satisfied nod as he pointed over to the full length mirror not too far from them. “Go see for yourself?” He asked her as he looked her body up and down. No doubt she looked rather decent looking with something that actually fit her. A smirk curled on his lips.

If she seemed to like that dress, Baird double checked the size on the tag, and picked out a few more clothes in the same size to hand to her. He wasn’t going to tell her about the fitting room if she were to try on those clothes too. She was a bit amusing to watch. His little pile had a couple shirts, pants, skirts, and a couple more dresses for her that he thought should fit. He hoped the pants fit real well though. “I can’t believe such a woman would just get changed in here... “ A squeaky voice scoffed from across the store to her friend. Baird’s green eyes glared over towards the noisy woman, and he frowned. “You’d think she’d at least change in the dressing room where no one could see her." He mumbled something and a black harmonica with skulls on the top of it was suddenly in his hands.

The musician puts the harmonica to his lips and started to play, rather loudly, a blues sounding tune to the store. Not too far away, a little skeleton dressed in a leather jacket with boots and a hat on his head had popped up behind a rack of clothes, right near the woman who was talking before. On his hands were a pair of brass knuckles, and he looked right up at the woman as Baird continued to play his little ditty. The woman let up a shriek before she ran out of the store, and the musician seemed to get bored, stopping his music, making the skeleton disappear along with it. If Trinity saw the skeleton or not, he wouldn’t really care.
