“Hey! Get back here, thief!”
Trinity took off down the street. In her arms were a few baked goods that she’d just snatched from a street vendor. The owner was hauling after her, determined to catch the young woman and turn her in. She ducked around a corner and straight into a crowded square where she lost herself in the crowd.
Using her magic, she altered her looks. When she’d approached the vendor her hair had been a bright blonde, her eyes blue. Now, with a quick second of focus, her hair turned black as night and her eyes became a deep emerald color. She turned suddenly in the crowd, changing directions. The owner of the store ran right by her, barely stopping to give the dark haired woman a glance as he was busy scanning the crowd for someone with lighter locks. With a relieved look, she made her way casually through the square until she could go down another, less crowded alley.
Finding a place to park herself, she looked at the food in her arms with a small smile. A few had fallen out while she ran, but there was still five pastries left that were filled with meats or fruits. She sat happily on the ground and bit into one, eating it carefully rather than ravenously. A hum of pleasure escaped her lips as the flavors danced in her mouth. The pastries tasted as delicious as they had smelled, and she was glad she’d taken them.
Anyone looking at her would be able to tell how obvious it was that she’d had to have stolen the food. The clothes she was wearing clearly did not belong to her, because they were several sizes too big. They were also dirty like she hadn’t washed them in a while, and like she’d been sleeping outside. As she ate, her magical camouflage faded away to reveal her natural looks. Her hair was half brunette and half pink, with mismatching eyes of the same colors. It was a shame, really, that she was wearing such poor clothes because she was really quite pretty and would have been rather striking in something clean that fit her.
But, she didn’t really seem to notice. Trinity was just happy to have some food, as she could tell from the ache in her stomach that it had been a while since she’d eaten last. Honestly, she didn’t even know where she was or how she’d gotten here. Perhaps after this she’d try to figure it out, but for now a good meal was calling her and she wanted to eat it while it was still hot.
Please forgive me if I don’t talk much at times. It’s loud enough in my head.
