Ken isn't your regular exceed. While most people know exceeds as cats, dogs, and anything like those two that can sprout wings and fly, Ken is something different. Unlike the other exceeds, Ken can't sprout wings and fly so he has to walk on the ground all the time. He is also a deer compared to the usual cat dog exceeds since his parents were ones as well, though he looks quite different than your usual one. Many know deer as animals that have antlers and walk on all fours, but Ken doesn't possess any antlers and is bipedal, a side effect caused by eating a certain fruit which hindered his growth but gave him the ability to speak. For some reason, Ken cannot swim. This inability of his tends to get him and Daichi into trouble, though it is also the main foundation that formed his relationship with Daichi since Daichi saved him from drowning when they first met.

Ken is a naive and cheerful exceed, at least to people he knows. He doesn't really like being around unfamiliar guys and always acts timid towards them, always hesitating before he attempts to converse with them or answer their questions. But once Ken sees you as a trusted guy, his true colors start showing. He is easily amazed even by the simplest things just because he has yet to learn some things about the world. He has a habit of freaking out even in unnecessary situations which makes him kinda annoying, though many people often see his freak out sessions as cute expressions.
