Shane had arrived a moment too late, the cacophony of loud blaring alarms and glaring flood lights from around the compound from the Livelier Shipping Co. assaulting his senses the moment he landed on the ground. He had been informed too late, and the second the police had decided to inform him at the last minute, he had sprinted all the way here from the middle of the town to the port area. Shane barely had a break in his breathing, as he went straight up to the person who owned the shipping company.

“I’m the mage in charge of this case. Quick! The details!” the superhero in training urged, as he looked around before fixing the man, in his fifties, with a stare. He was the owner of the Livelier Shipping Co., Jeff Livelier. This man had the root cause of all this. Having received a warning from the thieves, or rather pirates who were absolutely fond of leaving a calling card to build their infamy, he had decided not to inform the police and decided to dare the pirates in their game. Instead, he had only posted his crew of security guards around the compound. A crew of security guards who were merely paid to patrol and stop petty thieves, who weren’t ready to put down their lives or even take the smallest scratch for their employer’s bravado.

“There, they fled in that direction!!” Jeff Livelier pointed with a shaking hand, index finger pointing in the direction of the common docks. The blonde superhero in training, nodded and left immediately in pursuit of the thieves. “Trust me!”
Barely five minutes after he had started, Shane started to see the trail that the thieves had left behind. A literal trail of Jewels every few steps. It seems like they had a truly good haul from the Livelier Shipping Co. this time around.

“All Might! 30%!” Shane roared as the power coursed through his entire body, slowly emitting a layer of white steam, as his steps got wider and faster. The buffed mage squatted and then leaped off the ground, leaving a web of cracks on where he last stood and landed on the roof of a nearby warehouse along the same route the thieves had went. Taking advantage of the height, Shane found his targets without much difficulty. They were on a straight path towards the end of the docks, a pirate ship waiting for their return. The pirate flag flapped in the air, but Shane was unable to make out which crew they were from.
Never mind. It was insignificant to the job anyway.

Shane ran, leaping from roof to roof, and he started to gain on the thieves. They had no idea that he was chasing them from above, and as Shane got near to them, he could hear them chatting merrily and discussing the size of their haul this time. With a grin on his face, the blonde mage leapt off the roof he was on and landed behind one of the slower pirates, before grabbing the back of his shirt and tossed him into the nearest wall. He slid down, unconscious. That certainly got the attention of the rest, as they looked back to find the source of the loud noise. All of them looked at their fallen mate before swiveling their eyes back to look at Shane.

“Put all those down and I won’t beat you up too much,” the young mage said with a cocky grin, hands on his hips. His toned physique cut an intimidating silhouette in the night, but it wasn’t enough to deter the pirates. The one closest to Shane, a pirate with a buzz cut and a red cloth wrapped around his left forearm, tossed his bag full of Jewels to the one farthest away.

“You busybody. Brothers, we fight!” The pirates tossed their bags of Jewels to the ground, their bulging packs almost bursting open and some even dropped Jewels when it hit the floor. Including him and the wall-slammed one, they made up a group of five. “Your choice then,” Shane said with a shrug before charging straight at them.

The first of the four pirates attacked Shane with lunging punch, to which Shane easily lowered his body and allowed the pirate’s punch to sail above his shoulder. He himself was prepping a right punch into the pirate’s unguarded abdomen and aimed one at his chest. The force of Shane’s punch and the forward impetus of the pirate combined to result in cracked ribs, stopping the pirate in mid-step. That wasn’t the end though. Shane stood back up and elbowed the pirate, who retaliated with a forward kick at Shane’s abdomen. The superhero in training avoided it in time, stepping to the right before slamming his elbow into the pirate’s head again, dropping him to the ground.

A thud from behind got Shane stumbling a few steps forward as another pirate had circled to his back, having dealt a blow to the former’s back with a wooden plank. Albeit a poorly executed whack due to the clumsiness of the strike. Letting out a humph of dissatisfaction, Shane threw himself at the pirate before he could swing the wooden plank again, the two of them dropping to the ground with Shane sitting on the pirate’s abdomen. The pirate tried to block Shane’s punches, but it was feeble attempt. At his level, there was no way he could block Shane’s enhanced strength. Shane continued raining punches on the pirate, and finally wrenched the pirate’s forearms to his side before releasing a heavy punch to his face.

Standing back up to face the other two pirates who were slowly approaching with their machetes, Stane picked up the wooden plank on the ground as his weapon. With a shout from the two of them, both sides lunged at each other. The two of them were prepping for a downwards slash, their swords held above their heads but Shane barely gave them the time to pull it off. As they were almost slashing downwards, the superhero in training held the wooden plank horizontally and pushed it forward at chest level. The enhanced strength and speed from using All Might allowed Shane to throw both pirates off the ground together with the wooden plank.

Shane took a breath as the two pirates pushed the wooden plank away and stood back up. There was no hiding the fury in their eyes. This had been a great haul, enough for them live the high life for three or four months before they have to pull off another robbery. The two pirates split off and surrounded Shane. Without a weapon, the young mage could only focus on blocking and disarming them before he could fight properly.

The two pirates charged Shane at the same time, weapons raised. Quickly judging the one on his left to be nearer to him, Shane lunged at him. The pirate slashed upwards, barely putting a gash on the mage’s chest had he not swerved in time to the left. A follow up slash downwards came for Shane, but he was prepared this time. With his superior speed, Shane grabbed the man’s wrist with his right hand, stopping the downwards slash.

“Hargeon SMASH!!” A heavy uppercut came from Shane’s left fist, connecting with the pirate’s jaw, filled with so much strength to knock the pirate up into the air before falling back down. But Shane wasn’t done. As the pirate was falling, Shane quickly pulled his legs wide, and drove his right fist into the man’s abdomen, sending the pirate flying into a pile of crates.

A quick slash pulled him away from his small victory, this time a successful attack from the pirate. Shane instantly turned around and faced the pirate, extending his left hand to his back, a hot and sticky sensation on his back. He didn’t have to look at his left hand to know the liquid was blood. Grimacing from the pain, Shane wasn’t able to react in time with a counter attack when the pirate slashed downwards again. He could only hold his hands up, crossing his wrists to block the pirate’s wrist and stopping the downwards slash.

The pirate threw a kick at his torso, while Shane did the same. Both kicks connected and they separated, with the pirate stumbling to the ground from Shane’s kick. The mage had only moved back a few steps, a little from the force of the pirate’s kick but more from the recoil of his own kick. Taking advantage of the pirate’s fall, the superhero in training ran to the pile of crates and picked one up with both hands and tossed it at the pirate. It was a hit. The pirate tried to block with both hands but ended up taking the full brunt of the thrown crate. It had been a full one. There was no ensuing movement from the pirate squashed by the crate.

Shane’s legs stumbled for a bit, and he quickly leaned on the closest wall, taking deep breaths. He could already police whistles as they approached their location. The crash of the thrown crate had gotten their attention, originally searching aimlessly around the docks for Shane and the pirates. When they finally arrived, Shane stood up straight and greeted the squad leader.

“They are all yours, sir. I will be leaving first to get some first aid,” was all he said as he gave the squad leader a pat and left the scene. He would go get the payment for the job tomorrow morning.
