Baby, It's Cold Outside (Gaia x Kyran event)

Throughout Earthland strange magical portals have been appearing, these portals give off a cold sensation and contain colourations of red, green, and icy blue; tones representative of the holiday everyone has come to know and love, Christmas. Something strange is occurring within Santa Claus’ domain and the normally happy and kind population of the realm have transformed into creatures of evil and started to invade Earthland believing they are the cause of the problem. The Magic Council has initiated a state of emergency continent-wide and is asking for the help of mages to find out the cause of this invasion and stop it, they would prefer all mages participating to approach the winter invaders with a talk-first approach though if violence is necessary; use it.

Gaia was taking a deep breath as she approached Peace Village. It had been... well, what felt like ages since she was here looking for a book for a sweet old woman... The village was all cleaned up and seemed to be prospering since the last time she was here... and the library even seemed like it was in order too! A memory crept from the back of her mind of the first time she saw a certain someone... and shirtless at that. She couldn't deny that meeting Kyran here in Peace Village was probably one of the best things that happened to her. A smile had grown on the black haired woman's face as she adjusted her faux fur scarf around her neck. She was wearing a blue dress, trimmed with faux fur at the top, and had a snowflake pattern on it as it. On her left hand was a blue glove with the same faux fur at the wrist, and the other hand sported a fingerless glove that went to her elbow and was fur free. To add some spice to the outfit, she put on a sparkly silver sash on her waist, and a sparkly blue ribbon wrapped around her right leg a few times above the silver flats she wore. To her, the whole outfit screamed festive and seemed fit for the season. Noya was relaxing in Gaia's right arm as the mage had her cloak stuffed in her bag, and her staff was gripped in her left hand.

Kyran had invited Gaia to come to the village to help him out with something there. She wasn't sure what it was that was going on, as he wouldn't tell her at all, but she was still curious. After her home was fixed, she enjoyed being there with Kyran, and enjoyed having him close when neither of them were going on jobs. A short distance away, some of the villagers were starting to play some seasonal music for everyone, or at least sounded like they were trying to as they were actually more just practicing. She heard some villagers say something about a show they were putting on in a few weeks time. Maybe Gaia could convince Kyran to come back for that... As they played, Gaia found her feet slowly moving in motion with the music and she mindlessly begun dancing to their, slightly off, beat.

The tarot mage did feel a bit bad though. She had heard about portals opening all around the entirely of Earthland and that mage were called upon to help. But here she was, going out on a date with her boyfriend to enjoy herself instead. She was hoping that one of those portals wouldn't show up here, especially if Kyran was more planning a date for them to go on instead and was only trying to surprise her by calling it a job instead of a date. That was more of the assumption she was going with, and why she felt she should dress up instead, because of her feeling like he was setting them up on a date instead. Even if that wasn't the case this time around, Gaia had been getting better at working in various dress types, and felt confident that she could still work in her current outfit too. Noya made a noise in her arms as Gaia smiles to her. "Hold on... You'll be spoiled by Kyran soon enough... We both know you still hold a grudge with him about taking your pillow for the treats." Noya's ears seemed to shrink down a little as Gaia knew she was spot on with the 'guess'. A cold breeze had blown through the village just then, making the mage frown as she didn't want to put on her cloak just yet, but if that breeze was to keep up, she felt she just might have to.

'Normal Dice' :

Kyran paced back and forth, trying to make sure he had everything. Everything needed to be perfect. This was a big moment. He stopped for a second. What if this was too soon? What if she didn't feel the same way? He had a sick feeling in his stomach that could have either been anticipation or anxiety. Whichever it was the feeling wasn't helping in the slightest. Kyran shook his head, his fingers sliding over the blue book in his pocket. It would be okay. Hopefully, they were ready for this step. The redhead took mental stock of everything. Gaia was probably already at the spot given he was doddering around. That was one. The blue book was in his pocket. The musicians were in place and paid for. They'd luckily already been there for a play was happening in a few weeks. Kyran idly wondered if he should bring Gaia back for that. The ring was in his pocket. Kyran had searched for it for a long time. He hoped she'd like it. Then there was his outfit. He'd gone for something a little more casual but still formal. Long sleeve black dress shirt, white vest, red tie and handkerchief with his magical coat thrown over it all. He'd have left the coat off if it had been a little warmer. If he left it off in this weather, Gaia would probably scold him which would just ruin the moment.

Satisfied that everything was ready, Kyran snatched up the bag with his gift for Noya. The ferret was still angry with him. Not that Kyran blamed her. Sleeping next to Gaia was very comfortable. He'd be irritated with anyone kicking him out of that spot too. Trying to shake off his nerves, the redhead rounded the corner that lead to his prescribed meeting place. Gaia looked breathtaking even from this distance. She was dancing to a tune the musicians were playing. The sight made him smile. This was the right time. His heart couldn't be any more full than it was right at this moment. A little spark of his magic creating a near unnoticeable 'fireworks' display had the musicians changing the song. The tune became soft, alluring. It was a precedent to what was to come. The music spoke of love, soft and gentle. It was an instrumental piece Kyran had created with the help of a few people, namely his sister. Masha had worked hard on the piece, having Kyran listen to it over and over again until it was just right. The redhead started toward his girlfriend. His pace was slow. He walked with purpose, sure of what he was about to do.

Coming up behind her, Kyran moved in step with Gaia as she danced. His free hand settled upon her waist. His lips, cold from the winter wind, brushed against her neck. "Never have I seen a more beautiful sight than you dancing in the snow." Kyran murmured. He tugged her close, her back to his front. "And it almost makes it worth lying to you." Kyran did his best to capture Gaia's gaze. "There is no job. I wanted an excuse to get you alone, here where we first met." He glanced at Noya. An amused glimmer sparked in his eye. "Well almost alone. I'd never begrudge Noya coming along." The redhead fingered the blue book in his pocket. Was now the right time? A shiver of nervousness went through him. Kyran shook himself, pressing another kiss to Gaia's cheek. The touch of her skin against his own grounded him. "As is customary, I brought gifts for both of you. Noya, this is yours." He held up the bag. Inside was two pounds of various spiced meats that Kyran had noticed Noya enjoyed quite a bit. It was way more than Kyran usually brought for the ferret. "Hopefully, this goes at least a little ways towards buying your favorite spot from you. I do quite enjoy it and the extra benefits it has." He cut a heated glance at Gaia. The redhead released Gaia and took a step back.

"For you, my love, I-" A roar split the sanctity of the moment. Screams quickly followed. A terrible expression shadowed Kyran's face before he turned to face the source of misery. Bears, with snow white fur, were making their way down the main street. Nine of them from what Kyran could count. He was tempted to slam his magic into them, tear them apart for ruining this carefully planned moment. Perhaps this was his fault. He had ignored the missive that had been sent to Gaia's house. Actually, he'd thrown the summons into the fire for fuel. It might have placed these plans on pause if he'd bothered to read it. Sighing heavily, Kyran readied himself for battle. "I suppose I should have expected this." He joked over his shoulder. "Every time we go on a date, something comes up to ruin it."

Gaia had let up a soft, and gleeful, scream as she felt Kyran behind her. Noya had given her the heads up by perking her head though. She turned her head and grinned a bit to him as she listened to his words. "You know I can't help but dance..." She was glad he didn't feel like she was dancing for everyone else anymore when she did so randomly in public. She had no issue leaning back on him as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath with a smile on her face. "I knew it was a date over a job." She giggled to him as she leaned over his hand slightly as she had her head turned to look at him. "And you better know Noya's never leaving me... no matter for who." She sticks her tongue out to him. She giggled to the kiss on her cheek, and reached a hand up to touch his shoulder, till he said he had gifts. Noya seemed to get rather excited at the sight of the bag, trying to contain wiggling self. Gaia's mouth gaped open a bit at the site of the bag, and shook her head as she laughed in disbelief. "You can carry that today... my bag doesn't have the room." She managed to say as she ran a hand through her hair, before her face burned bright red from his comment. "Kyran..." She mumbled softly. She wasn't the type to say things pertaining to the bedroom, out in public.

Gaia slightly turned to her boyfriend to hear what he had gotten for her, blinking at the sound of a roar. She lightly tapped her staff, that was in her left hand, on the ground, and grinned to him. "What's the fun in going out as a mage without a bit of sport, hm? I'll just get my gift when we're done here." She winks to him with a wide grin as Noya quickly ran down to Gaia's bag to pull out the paper from the Magic Council. The paper had everything that she needed to know about what was going on as she had only stuffed it in her bag, not thinking anything of it. She quickly read it, using her glasses to assist her, and takes a deep breath. "Well... Lets try to find this portal and push these polar bears back in there... I'm pretty sure they came from it." She says as she shows him the paper. "I wouldn't want to hurt these big bears unless they come close to killing us themselves. They're endangered." She nods as she had briefly taken her iLac out to read up on the bears super quickly as well. Noya was trying to growl at them as she shakes her head, it was a little unbelievable that polar bears were suddenly here in Peace Village. "This village really wasn't so peaceful after all then..." Gaia snorts to herself. She holds up her staff a little. How to push back nine polar bears?

"Knight Gayle of the Air! I hope you can help me out... Noya! Go search for that portal." She says as a card jumps into her hand. She glanced over to Kyran and grins to him while Noya scurried off away from the bears to search for the portal they must have come through. "At most, keep them from going after the people and buildings, okay?" She nods to him as that was just what she was planning to do. She flips the card a bit in her fingers, revealing a two-toned silver and tan female dragon holding a sword and looking like she’s ready to go charging off to fight, and that's exactly what Gaia was hoping for as the card vibrated and that same dragon came out of the card, glaring ahead of her. She glances back to Gaia, and raised an eyebrow to her. "Don't hurt the bears, try pushing them back and into the forest if it's possible... till Noya finds the portal they came through." The wind around Knight Gayle was rather intense, and Gaia seemed to grin rather devilishly from it. She only wished these bears would try to fight hard against her Knight. Then again, she could bring out her stronger cards. No one wants to see her queen.

Gayle glances to Gaia, then scoffs a bit. "Fine... Only because I can see it on your face that these are important animals." She mutters as the tarot mage nods and grips her staff a bit. She was ready to use it to at least smack around anything just in case. A couple of the nine bears started to charge at them, tearing through the high winds the dragon gave off. She holds up her staff as Knight Gayle holds up her own sword and shoves her sword up in the air before thrusting it at the direction of the bears. Brown, glowing birds came flying down quickly and were at least flapping in their faces, some birds were pecking at the bears to get them to move. The birds didn't really do much besides make them madder, which slightly worried Gaia. She takes a deep breath as she glares on ahead. She twirls her staff a bit as a bear started to come at her. She felt her bag start to vibrate a bit, and glanced down to it for a minute, then snickers. "Earth Queen Dorolth" She says as a two-toned, brown/green, female dragon sitting down in a throne while holding a disk with a five-pointed star in the center was on it. The same dragon shimmered out of the card and looks back at Gaia with a sweet smile for a moment, before nodding a hello to Knight Gayle. The bears instantly seemed to slow down a bit, as the smell of the fresh cut grass was around them. Next thing they knew, the dragon's peaceful expression wasn't so peaceful for a moment before she smashed the disk in her hand, on the ground. The disks pieces went into the ground and instantly shot up at the bears feet and begun to snap at them to back off, which started pushing them back at least.

Kyran's smile was strained when Gaia teased him. She didn't quite understand how hard it had been for him to set the date up. Not to mention the other preparations that went into it. He was also worried about losing the blue book or the ring in this fight. It was a real possibility that left Kyran breathless. On top of everything, Gaia had cut off his way of venting. Rage boiled beneath his skin. He needed to hit something hard. The blows he was capable of would most likely kill the bears before long. That meant watching his strength throughout the battle. The redhead faced the bears once more. The date was ruined. He'd deal with that later. Right now, there were people to keep safe and bears to force into retreat.

Kyran watched Gaia summon two dragons. While he had seen one of them before, the other was new. Or perhaps he'd merely forgotten it. There was no telling which it was. He jumped twice trying to warm himself up. The cold wove within his limbs chilling him. The blood mage had been so nervous about proposing that he hadn't given a real thought to himself. His body was stiff. It was a good thing Gruen wasn't around to take advantage of his weakness. Twin cuts opened on his hands once he was able to move well. His eyes became green, the pupil lengthening horizontally. The extremities of his limbs dissolved into shadows. Kyran could feel Erebos' strength flow through him. The demon was excited. Gaia had basically given them leave to play. There was a sharp sting in Kyran's shoulder. He shrugged it off. It was probably just falling ice.  

The redhead shot forward, running up the side of a building to attack from above. Kicking off the building didn't end quite the way he planned. A trio of elfin creatures slammed into him, knocking him off course. Two snowballs hit him as well, an unnatural cold spreading outward from the point of impact. Kyran crashed into the ground. The elfin creatures giggled whacking him with candy cane swords. A deep growl rippled out from Kyran. He was close to biting into one of the creatures and unleashing Ahriman on the lot of them. It was a struggle for him to regain his temper. The blows he was feebly warding off didn't help either. "Gaia - umph - darling? Could you - ach - watch for more -ugh - of these menaces? I'd prefer to - ah, ya cripin bastard - avoid more surprises." Having had enough of the trio, Kyran opened a cut upon his tongue. Lacing his blood morph spell with his voice, the blood mage sent the elfin creatures flying with a shout.

Kyran was forced to climb to his feet under a hail of magical snowballs. The creatures had two friends up on the roof. The damn giggling was driving Kyran insane. Didn't they realize what they'd done? They'd ruined what should have been a very special date. The blood mage yearned to show them what happened to those that messed with him. The burst of emotion was something he'd have to examine later. He was rarely this violent and not without a very good reason. Letting his earlier creations fall to dust, Kyran held a hand out toward the elfin things. "Let the Hellwyrms have you." He sneered unleashing the spell. Eight wyrms spun from his wound. The giggling maniacs didn't even realize they were in danger until the wyrms were chewing through them. Then the giggles turned to screams. A grim smile crossed Kyran's face.

Are...are you alright, host? Erebos asked tentatively. Kyran rolled his shoulders and started towards the bears. "Right as rain, Ari, my boy. Why do you ask?" The redhead got the sensation that the demons were looking at each other. The way he was acting was frightening them. Or at least it was concerning to them. You're not acting yourself, hostie. Calm down. We're supposed to be the crazy ones. Medea said harshly. Kyran thought he heard an undercurrent of fear. He chuckled softly, letting his magic swirl beneath his skin. "Whats crazy about it? I'm just a guy with four demons in his head. Nothing crazy about that!" What am I? Eae piped up sounding indignant. Kyran laughed as he punched a bear in the nose. "My conscious, what else?" These bears were tougher than they looked. The one he'd punched had been surprised but not much damage. A spiky gauntlet encased his fist. Utilizing his speed, Kyran slammed the bear again and again. Something cut into his sides. Probably the bear's claws. He ignored it, continuing to punch viciously. A warm liquid bathed his side after a short while. Kyran! Stop! You're killing it! Eae screamed.

It took a few more moments for her words to sink in. The bear was slumped in front of Kyran. Its face was a bloody mess and its comrades had been driven off by Gaia's summons. Blood bubbled in what was left of its nose as the bear struggled to breathe. The redhead stumbled backward, horrified. Blood spattered onto the snow around the redhead. A hand pressed to his side came away covered in blood. He'd been wounded. What had he been doing? How could he have lost it so badly? Unfortunately, the blood mage wasn't given time to ponder his actions. The giggling menaces had reappeared, dragging something with them. Kyran squinted. Was that some kind of tree? It was. A fifteen to twenty foot moving tree with decorations. Where had that come from?

Something impacted with Kyran's chest. He flew backwards, skidding a fair distance thanks to some hidden ice. He could feel the bruise already blossoming on his chest. "What the hell was that?" Kyran groaned, rubbing the aching spot. The creatures near the foot of the tree were clapping and dancing around. One of them was dragging something from under the tree. Was that a present? His sight was wavering, black spots dancing around what he could see. Whatever the elfin thing had dragged out from under the tree, the others were gathering around it. It looked like they were opening it. Kyran braced himself as a magic wave passed over him. The magic wove into his skin, increasing the cold he felt until he was no longer able to move. Full immobilization from the tree? It was more dangerous then it appeared. Unfortunately there wasn't much Kyran could do about the diabolical thing now. Hopefully Gaia could get them out of this bind. Blood still trickled from his wound and the redhead didn't like the looks on those elf creatures' faces as they approached him.

Even though Gaia was acting as if she didn't mind the disruption, she was actually pretty determined to knock this out rather quickly as she wanted to get back to the date ASAP. This would be the first date someone actually tried to work hard for her. Her other 'dates' were literally taken to the persons bedroom and didn't seem even remotely as special as this had started to seem. She was trying to at least make it seem like she was strong to Kyran just then. She grits her teeth though as she was looking away from her boyfriend momentarily. She needed to get her own anger out, but she knew she couldn't let it out like most people did. It was drilled into her to 'release it like a lady', which was let it seep out slowly without people noticing.

Gaia glanced over to Kyran finally, giving him one of her bright smiles as she felt confident they could take care of this quickly. When she saw his eyes going green, then the shadow limbs. She was aware that it was one of his demons, she only hoped it would play nice and not kill any of the polar bears. "Please don't..." She muttered to herself, finishing her thought as a small prayer that it wouldn't kill the bears. She barely noticed Kyran running off to scale the building slightly as he shot off, trying to make sure she kept an eye on her two summons to make sure they wouldn't kill the bears on accident themselves. "You don't have to worry, little one. We won't hurt them. We know our strength." Dorolth tells her as she barely looked over her shoulder. She was mainly keeping an eye on her whips. "And I must thank you... I don't want to hurt these bears as well..." Gaia softly chuckles to her dragon, knowing the soft nature of her earth queen dragon.

Gaia had saw a flash of red falling from the building out of the corner of her eye, and instantly was worried for Kyran. She couldn't make out what was attacking him at first, but then turned her head enough to actually see. "Elves?" She says in a slightly high pitched voice. That wasn't something she was expecting at all... What else was there going to be here while they tried to quickly solve this to not have this end as quickly as she wished? As he called out for her to watch for the little elves, she quickly nods to him. "Got it." She says as she quickly spins her staff to the broad side. She was about to go over to help him when he basically shouted at the elf creatures to knock them off of him. "That's one way to do it, I suppose..." She murmurs to herself. Gaia gasps as one of the bears had gotten past Dorolth and she skips to the side a bit. She held out her staff like a balancing stick as she was standing on one foot when she landed. It only took the bear a moment to realize that she dodged him, and was instantly charging for her again. Gaia takes a deep breath and quickly spun around before she smacked the bear to daze it a bit, quickly moving closer to Dorolth for cover. The dragon growls a little and allows her vines to quickly move and start snapping this bear towards the others and to push it back with them as well.

Gaia looked over as the elves giggling turned to screams, and her eyes went wide. "Kyran! Stop it!" She cries out and started to run towards him, but Gayle quickly got in her way, honestly not too sure about how to process her boyfriends current reactions. "Kyran! Don't kill the creatures! Please?!" Gaia saw one more of the elven creatures coming out from an alleyway, and was quickly going for it, swinging her staff like a hockey stick again, and smacking it unconscious so it could be tossed in the portal later. Where was Noya? Has she not found the portal yet?! Gaia lightly growls softly to herself as she shakes her head. It had to be somewhere... or Noya was in harms way. She quickly looks around, trying to find her little white ferret companion again. Instead of seeing her ferret, she was seeing Kyran being a bit more violent than she expected to see him be. She was frozen as she watched in horror of the bear getting bloodied by her boyfriend. Was it the demons taking over and going overboard? She sure hoped it was... The giggling of the elves got Gaia back to her senses as she quickly turned on them. She shakes her head and grips the staff in her hands as she started going after them now. She needed to get working, her dragons doing all the work without her made her feel useless and lazy now.

She wasn't sure what to make of the nicely decorated tree that these little elves were dragging over. Was it a distraction? The bobbles that were hanging nicely on the tree, suddenly started flying all over the place. Nope! It wasn't a distraction at all. Especially as one got her side rather good when she tried to skip out of the way. She had a hand on her side where she was hit, wincing in pain. There would at least be a bruise there if anything. She grits her teeth and glares as she starts forward, ignoring the pain in her side, attempting to avoid the snowballs and bobbles. "Fire Queen Sirroa!" She whispers as she has her hand next to her bag on her hip. She instantly had her hand on a card with a shimmering two-tone purple/red female dragon holding a staff-like walking stick on it. She takes a deep breath and flicks the card a bit, making the card shimmer before the same dragon holding the stick came out of it. "About time you called me forth..." The dragon muttered as she held her head high. Gaia takes a deep breath just as the elves were taking out the present from under the tree. Gaia had paused a moment, trying to still dodge the snowballs the little elf things were throwing, as well as the bobbles. They had only paused for a moment at the sight of the dragon before them, unsure for a moment about what it was that was coming to play with them.

As soon as the box was opened, Gaia gasped and felt her body freeze. She was lightly panicking as she didn't know what to do. She tries to look at Kyran, clearly worried for him and what was going to happen, before a plume of fire shot forward from in front of her. The Queen of Wands had her staff pointing forward when she was immobilized, and was able to release her fire right at the tree. Gaia was giddy as the elves were panicking and trying to put out the fire on them, and the tree was clearly on fire. Vines shoot up from the ground and grab hold of the little helpers, quickly yanking them back. "Miss Sabin." The Queen of Pentacles mutters. She had been a good distance away, and able to avoid being immobilized, grinning to herself and then to her fellow queen. "Nice to see you Sirroa. But we must stop playing now. Miss Noya has found the portal, in the forest a good distance behind the village." She says as she looks to Gaia, who was trying to move her body, straining to do so. Earth Queen Dorolth takes a deep breath, holding the thrashing elves in her vines, along with the one Gaia knocked out, totaling in all six of these cute little creatures. "I hope nothing happens in my absence... I'm going to throw these munchkins into that portal... The polar bears... minus one... have already been shoved back to it." She says as she looks over her shoulder. Gayle was there, and chuckles to them, intending to wait on them and make sure nothing attacked while they were immobilized. The one polar bear that Kyran had beaten up needed help, was what Dorolth was implying, and Gaia knew the card to use... it was just moving again to get to it was the issue at current. Slowly, Gaia was feeling her fingers getting feeling back in them. She only hoped it wouldn't take too long now.

Enemies:

Kyran could hear Gaia shouting at him as he approached the bears. A strange buzzing in his ears prevented him from being able to really process what she was saying. He would wish later he'd cut through the noise but in that moment, the blood mage was overcome by his rage. His demons yelling at him didn't even phase him from the powerful emotion. Perhaps the immobilizing effect of the tree was a good thing. While the rage had bleed out of him in that moment, there was always a chance it could return. The redhead wanted to happily leave everything to the summoned dragons. No host! Don't give up! Don't be weak in front of Gaia! Beat her! Show her you're a man! Medea mewled pitifully. There was a tingle in his fingers signalling the retreat of the immobilization. Malinda snaked her way forward. "Eae if you please. I don't need her distractions" Kyran said straightening to his full height. The angel backhanded the snake demon, inciting a scuffle in the back of Kyran's mind. Kyran sighed, looking toward the streets of Peace Village.

The dragons had cleaned up nicely. Other than the bear Kyran had pummeled, the enemy was nowhere to be seen. The redhead assumed the portal had been found and the  enemy swept back through it. He walked over to the bear. The thing could barely breath. A wave of sorrow swept through Kyran as he knelt beside the creature. "I'm sorry. I'm not sure what made me fly so far off the handle" He whispered, summoning a spell to his hand. The tiny fairy went to work on the polar bear as soon as she formed.

Heavy footfalls had Kyran shoving to his feet. A large man in a red coat was advancing down the street, escorted by two trees. The large man was reaching into a large satchel to throw presents left and right. It was a strange sight but not the weirdest Kyran had seen. He prepared himself for a fight. The large man spotted Kyran. "Ho ho ho! What have we here? Yet another naughty little boy. Well this time Santa will teach you some manners!" As one, Santa and his trees threw presents. Given what the last one had done, Kyran braced himself. The trees' presents would hit first since Santa seemed to be a lousy throw.

The first present exploded violently. Kyran was knocked off his feet by the blast. He slammed into the side of a building. The bricks cracked. The blood mage didn't even have time to slide down the wall before the second present impacted. He was a... Fox? He looked back at himself and yipped. His fur was a glossy silver white color and his tail swished behind him. The transformation took his demons by surprise and their fighting stopped in stunned silence. Then Santa's present hit. Another shock wave threw Fox Key back into the wall. His new nose detected blood coming from his flank. The blood mage lay on his side trying to breathe. What had this fight turned into?

Gaia was slowly feeling her fingers move, and takes a deep breath as she was finally set free from the tree. She wasn't having it. As she quickly started making her way towards where Kyran was, Gaia paused, noticing he was by the other bear he had injured. She bit her bottom lip and pulls a card out that had a white and purple female dragon with her eyes closed and arms stretched out to either side of her, looking content as her extra-long tail wrapped into an oval around her. "Harmony." She murmurs softly. The dragon was standing next to her a moment later and kept her eyes closed. The calm that surrounded the dragon was intense, but it was rather good, enough to make Gaia smile softly. "Help him, please?" The tarot mage asked, seeing that he had a little fairy helping the bear. Harmony seems to smile a bit as well before she goes over and wraps her tail around the bear. She puts her claw down on the bear for a moment, and takes a deep breath, healing majority of the bears wounds, and glancing up to Gaia and Kyran. A small wave of magic would fall over them as majority of their wounds are also healed as well before the dragon goes into her card once again and disappears. "Dorolth, please try to guide the bear back to the portal... don't think it'll fight too much" She says as the dragon was here again. She nodded slowly, taking a deep breath as she used her vines to take the bear when the little fairy was done.

The black haired girl had moved to put a hand on his shoulder when the sounds of feet came to their attention. She looks up with a bit of confusion, till she noticed whom it was. "Santa Claus?" She asked curiously, before presents were thrown at them. She let up a small shriek and holds up her hands as she was knocked back along with Kyran by the first trees' present, but she was thrown to the ground rather than one of the buildings. Slowly she gets to her feet, and puffs her cheeks up a little. "Hey!" She calls to get the man in red's attention. "What is your issue?! Terrorizing a village that has already gone through hardships?! Aren't you supposed to be the man who brings cheer and happiness to young children?! Not terrifying them and making them afraid of you!?" She wasn't aware of how much her voice was rising with each question, till she could hear her own anger. Behind him was another tree, two more polar bears, and three more of the elves. Before she could say more, she was instantly transformed into a creature alongside Kyran. She looked at her clothes all around her, then blinked a moment. She looked at her paws and then up to Santa Clause. She had become a Snowy Ferret, just like Noya.

Gaia let up a scream as she had been hit once again by another blast and thrown back some more, and the pain hurt her rather much. Noya came running and instantly knew Gaia was Gaia. She used her Ice breath to heal the wound that was created. Gaia pouts in the little ferret form, and looked up with wide eyes at Santa as Noya was growling defensively at him. Sirroa gripped her staff tight as she throws fire at the two trees accompanying the fat man in red. "You are a disgrace to the mortal race..." She simply says, trying to not snarl. "What has the world done to upset you so... man of red...? Even my kind know you are not one to do this... The damage you are causing here... is unneeded..." She had her head held up high as she looked to Gaia. The, now, ferret girl quickly flipped to her feet as she hobble-ran towards Siorra while Noya ran to Kyran to start healing him. "Turn my contractor back to normal so she can speak to you normally." "Ho! Ho! Ho! I don't feel like changing her back! Also, to answer your question... I'm sick and tired of all the darkness in the world. So I'm gonna be the one to just end it to stop all the darkness!" "You are a stupid human. Don't you realize you're only making it darker?" Siorra questions the man. He paused for a moment as Gaia had made her way next to the large dragon, and Noya had made her way towards Kyran. "Dates were set up today, and you were the one to darken it. I've seen the children over the centuries be ready and excited for your day to come this whole month. I've seen people feel in a bit better mood around this time with the thought of you coming around. Ending the world does nothing but make you a worthless man with minions... Instead of trying to harm it... why not guide it? Better than you've ever done before! Or live with the fact that the young and innocent children in this village will no longer be waiting to see you... but fear your arrival."

The dragon fell silent as Santa Claus looked at her. The realization was setting in to him what he was doing, especially since he glanced over to a couple of innocently peeping eyes through the window of a home. Sirroa had distracted him enough to stop the fighting momentarily. The eyes that were peeping through the window, had tears in them as they held a stuffed animal up with them to 'look' at the man in read with them. Those eyes alone were enough to break the mans heart as his softest place was for the young children whom looked up to him. A heavy sigh escaped his lips. He had wanted to go on and inflict more damage, but he looked down to Gaia, and waved his hand towards her. Instantly, she was back to normal, sitting on the ground, naked. She let up a light shriek as she covered her body, and looks back to where she was originally transformed, where her clothes laid as if she had removed them herself. Earth Queen Dorolth quickly was there and putting on Gaia's cloak around her shoulders. "I'm... Sorry... for the trouble I've caused for everyone..." He says as Gaia looks up to him. "Just stop the destruction, and fix what you've done, please?" Gaia pleads softly. Santa had lowered himself to be near eye level with her, and snapped his fingers. Her clothes were suddenly on her body again, and Kyran was back to normal as well. Any blood in the snow was gone, as well as damage done to buildings. Gaia and Kyran were also healed from any injuries as well. As Santa stood up, his companions were already making their way back to the portal.

Gaia was slowly standing up on her feet again, having felt weird being a ferret, and looked over towards where Santa had rounded a corner behind his companions. As he had neared the portal, it had lit up brighter behind the buildings and trees, making a beacon of sorts. "Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas! And a Happy New Year to all!" He calls before his voice was swallowed up by the portal. Gaia takes a deep breath as she lightly patted on the skirt of her dress. She was obviously a bit shaken up by the ordeal, but she slowly glanced over to Kyran. She wondered if he was okay now, and it was clear on her face as she worried over him. Was she to go over to him? Was she to keep her distance? Did he want to finish the date that they started? Or was it doomed now?

Kyran sat against the building, snow dusting his nice clothing. Noya sat beside him. His hand absentmindedly stroked the ferret's fur. Now that the fight was over, the adrenaline and focus Kyran had was gone. He was stunned by the events. Santa had attacked the world. The date he'd spent time meticulously putting into place was ruined. He'd completely lost control of himself, nearly beating a helpless animal to death. Could he salvage this day? Did he even want to? His eyes drifted closed. He didn't want to look at Gaia. It would be too painful if she had a look of horror on her face. The demons tried to speak as Key slipped his hand in his pocket. That little blue book, his unlikely source of 'good luck', of comfort... was gone. Kyran's eyes snapped open. He frantically patted his pocket trying to find it. There was a large rip in the bottom of his pocket. The book must have slipped out. Kyran thumped his head against the building only to bolt upright. The ring! Where was the ring? He lifted his hand to his breast pocket. It was instantly obvious it was gone. The entire pocket had been torn away. Had the elves taken it?

Kyran gently placed Noya on his shoulders before standing up. He needed to find the ring if not the book. "Help me find something?" He murmured to the ferret. "There's a treat in it for you. Not to mention the things your helping to find will make Gaia happy." The blood mage quickly described the objects to Noya and let her go on her way if she was going to help. If she was going to help, Kyran only hoped she wouldn't bring the book or the ring directly to Gaia. The blood mage proceeded to check the ground all around him. It ain't here, idiot Medea meowed, licking her paw. But you better find the ring. Its the ultimate sign of victory if you put it onto Gaia's hand. Kyran scowled at the unhelpful feline. The ring was about giving himself away, not winning anything. The book was a little more important to him though.

The redhead rapidly began moving through the area that the battle had covered. There wasn't a hint of either object. Damn it. Had Santa's elves taken them? Were they trapped within the repaired village, a casualty of the magic? He found himself cursing with every passing minute. The falling snow would soon obscure the ring altogether. It'd be impossible to find after that. Enjoy yourself with your lady, monsieur. It shall be tre magnifique even without zee objects. Kyran stopped, standing upright. "Why are you talking in an accent?" He asked the shadow demon. To bring a little spice to zee world. The demon replied with a small bow. Kyran rolled his eyes but he recognized what the demon had done. He felt calmer now. It would better aid his search then the frantic movements he'd been using before.

Kyran looked around, smiling brightly when his eyes alighted upon Gaia. She was perfection. The outfit she was wearing glowed softly against the backdrop of snow and Peace Village. The only thing that brought down her angelic appearance was the look of worry upon her face. It dawned upon Kyran that he'd been ignoring her. He'd placed more value upon the objects of the date then the whole point of the date in the first place. Clearly there was much growing to be done on his part. The redhead took a step toward Gaia ready to apologize. Oh look! Near her feet! Malinda cried out. His eyes drifted down and Kyran froze. There it was. Right in the snow at her feet was the tiny blue book. Its royal blue color stood out proudly against the white of the snow. By the gods, how had he missed it? How had Gaia missed it? The blood mage was frozen, his eyes locked upon the book. What could he do next?[/color][/color]

Kyran blushed when Gaia asked what was going on. Of course. He couldn't do anything right today. Plus now that she'd seen the book and the ring, there really wasn't any going back. No matter how hard his heart was beating, how much he wanted to run, it was time to make or break this relationship. Gently, Kyran took the book and the ring from Noya. The ring almost fell into the snow again. Kyran's red cheeks deepened in color. Now what to do? Feed the ferret or do the thing? Better to feed the ferret. There was no telling what Noya would do if he ignored her and withheld her treat. He quickly fished a special treat he'd been saving for Noya from his pocket. Now that the ferret wouldn't bother them too much.... The redhead swallowed the lump in his throat.

"I had a... very long extravagant date planned for today but uh..." Kyran chuckled nervously. His fingers played with his sleeve. He was the very picture of shy nervousness. "But uh as usual something came up to ruin our plans. I'm not sure why I expected anything else." The blood mage trailed off, looking out into the distance. He seemed lost in thought. Kyran wanted to salvage this. His mind scrambled for a solution. This needed to be magical, to be special. Something the two of them would hopefully treasure for the rest of their years. An idea hit him. He'd weave a story.

"Its hard to imagine that nine months ago, we were strangers looking for a book together." Kyran began, turning back towards Gaia. He slowly opened the blue book. The ring responded perfectly, throwing out an image. The image was a fantastical version of events that had happened when they first met, Gaia looking like an angel and Kyran looking... strangely buff and mysterious. The enchanter had clearly taken it upon themselves to embellish more than Kyran asked for. Kyran watched Gaia, a smile on his lips. The pages turned in the book. The image changed to match. "Then you called me out to find a flower. We got to know each other a little better. I even got to be a white knight for you." The image showed the wolf attacking Gaia and her subsequent rescue by Kyran. The blood mage licked his lips. "I got to see a glimpse of what I could be out from under my family's shadow. It was like the sun had shown in the middle of the darkest night." He flipped the pages once again and the ring projected a new image. The image of their first date. "We went on another adventure." Kyran laughed softly. His rather naive thoughts at the time were humorous now. "You taught me the meaning of words I'd heard and used before but never really grasped the concept of. Not until you. I think we could call that our first official date. It wasn't normal, but it was perfect." Another page, another image. This was of their second date, where they'd both dressed up. Kyran turned a few pages this time, flashing images of their disastrous Ice Cream Date, finding his secondary magic and making things up to her, their night of passion and Ada's destruction of their house and their rescue of animals. "Our relationship continued to grow from there, getting better, getting brighter. Despite all the bumps and stumbling, we managed to come out the other end stronger for it. You taught me how to live, how to trust, how to love. Gaia, you breathed life into me again. And now..." He hesitated, his fingers stuck on the final page. Could he do this? Would she say yes? Or would this end in failure? A nudge from his demons had Kyran turning the final page. The image this time wasn't a moving picture but a still frame. In it, both Kyran and Gaia were in white, a long road under their feet that disappeared into the distance. The blood mage slowly walked forward. When he was right in front of Gaia, Kyran smiled widely. He lowered himself onto a single knee, holding the ring up to Gaia. "And now, Gaia Sabin, I ask for you hand in marriage. I want to live my life beside you. I want to enrich your life in whatever way I can. I love you with every fiber of my being. Will you marry me?"

Kyran laughed softly at Noya's actions. "Noya..." He chided softly. His fingers curled around the ring. It was a simple band of silver but enchanted, obviously, to coincide with the blue book. The redhead kissed Gaia's fingers before slipping the ring on. He beamed up at Gaia. "There is one more thing" Kyran said handing the blue book to his... fiance. That would take some getting used to. "This was a fantasized version of our dates written by Anon and he left a secret on the back page." The redhead gathered Gaia in his arms. He pressed his lips against her forehead. "You can either read the whole thing or skip right to the secret. It's your choice." He was a little afraid of her reaction. The final page revealed that Anon, Gaia's favorite author, was her new fiance. Kyran had the page spelled so only Gaia could read it. It wouldn't do to have that secret out. He kept his identity hidden for a reason.

Kyran dipped his head to taste Gaia's lips. "I love you. I want to wake up to you every morning." He murmured. There were dark shadows in his eyes. He was trying to banish them. This wasn't the time for his anxiety, his paranoia. This was their special moment. "I was wondering if I should walk into our wedding naked. Just to give you something good to stare at. Though I might be persuaded to wear something suitable. You'd have to come up with a convincing argument though." Kyran teased. The darkness receded in his eyes as his mind became occupied with other things. "Maybe if we faithfully reenact one of the love scenes from your favorite book... Like when Actaeon ties up Rieka and licks... oh wait" Kyran's smile was mischievous tinged with evil. "That book hasn't been released yet. You'll have to wait to read that bit." He was still chuckling as he tried to kiss her again.

Between the buildings, far from the rejoicing couple, a shadow watched the proceedings with interest. "The boss will enjoy learning about this one. His brother keeps piling on weaknesses. This one might finally do him in." The shadow rubbed their hands together. A brief burst of magic, nearly invisible in the snow, engulfed the shadow. When the light faded there was no sign of the figure having ever been there.

Oh I like her! Malinda hissed, happy at the prospect of a naked wedding. Kyran chuckled softly. His thoughts were for once in line with Malinda's. "That's more of an incentive for me. We'll make it a very small wedding, just you, me and the official." Kyran smiled mischievously as Gaia touched his nose with the book. "Never, my love. If I run, it's with you." He said with a small bow. It was meant to be teasing as well as completely serious. I like her! Medea piped up. Apparently the cat enjoyed Gaia's spine of steel. Kyran was sure they would butt heads because of it every so often. So long as they figured it out, he'd be okay. His parents had let things brew between them more often than not. The results of such a thing were obvious.

Gaia's shriek made Kyran jump. His hand shot out to clamp over her mouth. It was inches away when he stopped himself. That would make the situation way worse. "Yes, I'm serious and you can't tell anybody. Though you can't tell me you didn't suspect. I know I slipped up a few times. Not to mention the Cursed Dynasty series came out close to either our first meeting or our first date." The blood mage pulled Gaia close, carefully trapping the book between them. His head lowered so his lips brushed her ear. "Would it be so bad? Being married to your favorite author? Especially since I'm sure you enjoyed some of those intimate scenes. Now you can be both muse and heroine for your author." Kyran kissed the soft spot below her ear before pulling back. "Don't tell anyone. It must remain a secret."

There were many reasons for keeping it a secret. Gruen was merely one. Fans were another and press was a third. Being somewhat famous throughout Fiore kept one from their privacy if they were known. Kyran rather enjoyed his privacy. The blood mage peered down at Gaia. "Tell you what. You can help me edit my books if you want. I'll hand you the manuscript, you give me your opinion and we'll go about seeing if we can make it better." He smiled, happiness radiating from him. "How's that sound?"
