Markus commented about his magic, and his family. Nessa's eyes softened at him, it seemed like a sensitive subject. She would've asked more, but she also didn't want to pry into something painful. So she stayed quiet, decided that this was not the time to stick her nose in where it didn't belong. If Markus wanted to tell him he would, but it was not her place to pry it out of him. She knew full well how hard it was, to open up about the painful things, in fact, she wasn't really sure she could do even now.
Nessa wasn't very adept at reading people, especially in 'intimate' circumstances. Yet for a moment, she got the feeling that Markus was as into the kiss as she was. Was she reading that wrong? She wasn't sure, she had always known that Rex liked it, because he tried to keep it going for as long as possible. But Markus had cut the kiss short, to address the woman. Even so, Nessa felt like if it hadn't been for the fact the woman was there. It might not have stopped so abruptly. She couldn't determine whether or not that would be a bad thing, it would be a confusing thing. Then again, it didn't really matter. Because they kiss had stopped. And the likelihood of it happening again, unless they decided to try and convince someone else they were a couple. Although she doubted it, she was sure Markus would have them move more cautiously after this to avoid the repeat of such an easy discovery.
Following the kiss, and Nessa's attempt to ease the woman's suspicion of them. It seemed that her reputation had spread even out here. Nessa was surprised, she honestly didn't think that would work, in fact, she doubted her status would have had any effect. She just figured she needed credible information in case the woman decided to look her up. But it didn't seem that was needed, the woman had heard of her. Nessa contained her relief, looking at the woman with a polite expression as she went on to accept their presence. Even going so far as to invite them to a gala. Nessa wasn't sure about that before she could even consider a response. Markus spoke, Nessa nodded her goodbye at the woman. Before allowing Markus to steer her away, she felt him pull her closer. She didn't resist, this was after all for show, yet still she couldn't help but be exceptionally aware of the warmth of his side against hers.
Finally, after a while of walking and once they were far enough from the woman named Victoria that she could no longer see them. Markus let her go, moving away to give her room. She heard his whisper and felt the blush rise to her cheeks a little. Yes, that what it was, just an idea. An idea that may have gotten a little out of hand, but still ended up being effective. She offered him a small smile, "Yeah well, I didn't have much time to come up with any other excuse for us being out there." She admitted. "Guess we did a good job convincing her huh," She said with a light laugh, her eyes fell to his lips, her thoughts lingering on the kiss they had just shared. It had been just an act right? Yet the way she felt even now like she could sink back into his arms and do it all over again. Maybe, I just miss the affection. She thought, trying to justify to herself why she had gotten so lost it. It made sense; she had been single for a long time. Dating itself was out of the question for the Saint of Purity, not because of her position or job, but more just... because she didn't know if she was ready. After Rex, any thoughts about dating filled her with a sense of anxiousness, a fear that she was going to get hurt again. Maybe, she really should consider dating at some point, then perhaps she wouldn't get so flustered by Markus. Not Markus though, he didn't see her that way. He'd made that quite clear that night all those months ago, he couldn't love, right? So even considering him was pointless and would probably just be painful for her. She knew that much at least.
But still... it had felt really nice.
The prospect of getting to do it again was, a tantalizing one to say the least. Nessa brought her gaze away, clearing her through. Still, she couldn't think like this; they were after all. Just friends. And this was just a mission, a mission that had required them to convince a woman they were a couple, which had required them to display a convincing kiss. This attempt to rationalize these thoughts reminded her that she was still in the middle of the mission with Markus. She returned her gaze to him, sighing, "So what's the plan now? How do you wanna approach this?" She asked, in a more relaxed tone.
