Description: Lightning Magic is a branch of Elemental Magic that utilizes electricity, but more specifically, lightning, as a form of offense and defense. Mages who possess the ability to utilize such Magic are able to generate these elements from their bodies, and manipulate them. However, unlike other types of Elemental Magic, users of Lightning Magic are also capable of utilizing lightning from a distance, such as from the ground near them, or down from the sky. This is a very powerful Elemental Magic, having many avenues for usage. It can also be imbued into Magical Lacrima crystals, as seen with the canon Laxus Dreyar's Thunder Palace spell.

Strengths:
- Lightning attacks work by electrocuting the opponents to various degrees, and there are spells that are said to be capable of completely paralyzing enemies, due to the extremely high voltage of the electricity employed in their use.
- Because of the high amounts of light produced with its use, Lightning Magic can also can also be utilized to blind opponents, albeit for a short amount of time.
- Similar to other types of Elemental Magic, Lightning Magic allows the user to transform their body into the element they control: by transforming into a lightning bolt, the user is able to avoid physical attacks, and have the added advantage of traveling around at very high speeds and damaging everyone or everything they come in contact with, much like real lightning.
- By generating electricity on different parts of the body, he/she will be capable of making the attacks in melee deadlier, and of propelling themselves around to gain extra momentum.
Weaknesses:
- Weak against Earth Magic.
- The lightning can be easily redirected.
- This magic is more into the offensive side and has only a few spells for defense. The user mostly counter-attacks or tries to evade the enemy's spell rather that defending.
- Can be highly unstable.
- If the lightning touches earth the charge will be negated.

- Electricity doesn't do much damage to the user.

Name: Lightning Palm
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Description: The user places their hands on the target's body and electrocutes them with a powerful surge of electricity.
Strengths:- Potential to be combined with other abilities.
- Can be followed by other spells
- Simple to execute.
Weaknesses:- Requires physical contact.
- Water, Earth and Metal. If the user attacks water or metal, they would end up charging the other elements and getting hurt themselves. The electricity will be nullfied by earth.
- Is quite predictable.
- Missing the enemy leaves the caster vulnerable for counter-attacks.

Name: Lightning Barrier
Rank: D
Type: Defensive
Description: The caster will first engulf both of their hands and forearms in electricity, and will then rotate the arms in a large circular motion. This motion will cause the electricity to flow off of the arms and hands, resulting in the formation of five and half foot tall shield of pure lightning. The shield will span five and a half feet in a full circle in front of them. The user is able to move this barrier around themselves to protect self. In order to do this, they must thrust one of their hands into the shield epicenter. This will provide them with full protection, but will limit her to the use of only one arm.
Strengths:- It will take three spells of D-rank and one spell of C-rank to seal the deal.
- This spell has the advantages of being strong against water based magic.
- Would electrocute foes if they physically try to harm it.
Weaknesses:- This spell only being a D-rank spell will easily be broken by spells of B-rank.
- Would be weakened by a C-rank spell.
- The fact that it is easily broken and it cannot be used to deal damage to the enemy.
- The earth would absorb the lightning and stop the conduction nullifying the shield.

Name: Thunder Bullets

Type: Offensive
Description: Placing one of their arms a few centimeters away from the other, held outstretched, with both of the palms open, the user creates a sphere of lightning around the outstretched forearm, from which a barrage of small, yet destructive lightning orbs is fired towards the enemy at high speed. Such oversized "bullets, striking in the same area, are powerful enough to produce an explosion on contact. The bullets can reach the radius of 2 cm in the most and can only travel till a distance of fifteen meters.
Strengths:- This spell can be casted instantly and can be shooted across in almost any direction making it hard to dodge.
- The user can change the size of the bullets and make it bigger so that it causes more damage.
- Gives a first degree burn to the part of the body of the opponent it has contact with it leaving that part of the body stunned for one post.
Weaknesses:- As these bullets are normally too small they do not cause much damage to the opponent if used in a small quantity.
- Can't penetrate solid objects, hiding behind any wall or shield would protect the target from damage.
- Water, Earth and Metal can absorb the electric charge thus totally nullifying the bullets.
- Strong winds can change the trajectory of the bullets.

Name: Lightning Punch and Kick

Type: Offensive
Description: The user creates an orb of lightning around their fist or feet and punches or kicks their target, thereby increasing the resulting damage which would have been done by a normal melee punch or kick.
Strengths:- Really useful as a melee spell.
- Simple to execute.
- Potential to be combined with other abilities.
- Causes momentarily stunning, leaving the opponent vulnerable to more attacks.
Weaknesses:- Easily predictable.
- Necessary to have physical contact to have some damage on the opponent which in turn gives the opponent a chance to hit you too.
- If you miss the enemy you are left vulnerable for a few seconds.
- Water, Earth and Metal. If the user attacks water or metal, they would end up charging the other elements and getting hurt themselves. The electricity will be nullified by earth.

Name: Lightning Waves

Type: Offensive
Description: The caster would concentrate on both their hands making two small magic circles appear in front of them; after their disappearence the caster's hands would glow with aura. The user would then sweep their hands in any specific direction making a wave of lightning which would shoot forwards. In this way the user can make at least five waves from each hand. The waves would travel in a straight line and are explosive. If two waves come in contact with each other they explode with a radius of one meter. This explosion can stun opponents, making them unable to use magic for one post. Being hit by a wave directly, causes the opponent to be electrocuted. These waves can travel in a straight line for fifteen meters.
Strengths:- Greatly useful against multiple enemies.
- Simple to execute.
- Can be used to stop or slow down other spells directed at the user.
Weaknesses:- Can be nullified by earth or earth based spells.
- The waves can be easily dodged.
- Metal can be used to change trajectory.
- The explosion due to collision of waves can harm the caster themselves.
Duration: Can be casted in different posts as long as another spell is not used in between.
Cooldown: 2 posts.- Potential to be combined with other abilities.
- C Rank Spells:
Name: Lightning Eruption
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Description: The user summons a lightning bolt from the ground, which causes a magic circle to appear beneath the target, which hits them with lightning; throwing them upto ten feet high into the air, before subsequently causing an explosion. If hit by this spell, the opponent would be electrocuted and can not use any magical spells for two posts.
Strengths:- Useful as a sneak attack, being hard to predict.
- Only in special circumstances can the target escape this attack.
- Strong against water magic.
Weaknesses:- Can be nullified by B-rank earth magic.
- As the target gets thrown in the air they get a few seconds of time to escape.
- If the target has any kind of rubber on him/her/it, the charge will be nullified.
- The user can be attacked by another mage (which is not their target) because of both hands being used in the casting of this spell.

Name: Lightning Body
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Description: Through the use of Lightning Magic, the user is capable of transforming their own body into electricity, turning themselves into a lightning bolt, whose size can vary from mere, fast-moving sparks to large pillars of lightning depending on the amount of magic used which does not affect the speed in any way.The user requires anywhere between 0.5 or 0.7 seconds to travel from one place to another.
Strengths:- Together with the signature intangibility of Elemental Magic, which allows the user to let physical and magical attacks (maximum will be B rank spells) pass harmlessly through their body when they're transformed.
- This form also grants some traits typical of real lightning: the user is shown capable of freely moving around at high speed and to travel over long distances, rapidly appearing at the destination from places away from sight as though as they were teleporting, as well as to electrocute everything crossing the path.
- Causes the opponent to be electrocuted when touched by the user in this form.
Weaknesses:- The user is only able to maintain this form while in motion.
- It can only move the user to places which are visible to them from their current position.
- The user can be grounded by an Earth mage.
- The user's trajectory in this form can be changed by a mage whose element is maybe metal, as electricity is attracted towards metal and would send them straight towards the the opponent.

Name: Lightning Crash
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Description: The caster creates a sphere of lightning in each hand and throws it to the left and right of the enemy. He/She would then pull them together ahead/above or behind the enemy causing the two spheres to react on coming in contact with each other and explode. The explosion will be in a five meter radius. The spheres can travel to a distance of 25 meters from the caster.
Strengths:- To be blocked, has to be blocked by both the sides.
- Only in special circumstances can the target escape this attack.
- Strong against water magic.
Weaknesses:- Can be nullified by B-rank earth magic user.
- User must use both hands, leaving them unprotected for the duration of the spell.
- Trajectory of the spheres can be changed by B-rank Wind Magic.
- If the user themselves is in a five meter radius around the target, it results the user to be hurt too.
Duration: 1 post
Cooldown: 3 posts- Useful as a sneak attack, being hard to predict.
