Personality:

Elle has always been serious since the day she was born. She never cried as a child, which was a sign of intelligence. Her parents had noticed right away the difference between her behavior and that of her twin sister’s and did all they could to foster her learning. They hoped to send her off to a good college one day so she could become a scholar, but it wasn’t to be. The town they lived in was a poor farmer’s town, and to make matters worse, they were all being bullied by a militia from the west. Elle did her best to keep up her studies at night, once her chores in the home and field were done. Even that stopped when the militia turned more violent, and she had to pitch in with everyone else to defend their land, fighting a losing battle day and night.

Despite her circumstances, Elle never complains. Even when she made a deal for the power to defend her town once and for all, only to find out it wasn’t what it seemed, she stood strong. It was the least she could do to keep everyone she held dear safe. Due to her altruistic ways, she left her town and family once she was sure they were safe, keeping them oblivious to her dismal fate and using the time she had left to help everyone she could. Eventually, the contract she made came to fruition and she was trapped in eternal purgatory.

At least, it was supposed to be eternal. She’d made her sister Millie promise to never make the deal she had, but her stubborn sister had done it anyway knowing full well what it would cost. Millie vowed to save both of them before she met the same fate, and while Elle is furious about it, she can understand where her sister is coming from. Despite herself, her hopes raised that maybe they both could be free and together again. But now she’s been released from her cursed prison with the expressed purpose of making her excellerating her sister’s progression with the crystal. What she’s being forced to do goes against everything she is.
