Shine Like the Moon!(One time Only)

Haunted village, place of the damned, home of hopeless, whatever it could be called did nothing for Luna's doubts. The magic council requested to all guilds to send their most able bodied members, how Luna factored into that was perplexing as she was not known for her strength, she was known by few for reading excessively, but she believed her guild asking her to take the job was a gross mistake. She was no fighter, yet somehow she thinks that makes sense, considering she is a remarkable healer. She hypothesized that she was sent to ensure that the magic council's wish for a lack of bloodshed of either Wizard or Lycan was granted, even then going in blind of what allies she might have could backfire as other guilds could have thought the same.

She got out of the horse driven carriage half a mile away from the village because the carriage driver refused to go any further. Luna didn't push him to go any further then he wanted. As Luna approached the down, she looked towards the yellowy orange sky as the sun was slowly setting, from what tales spoke, something known as the perfect moon would rise. As a Nature Fairy, Luna understood the importance of nature in magic, so she required no convincing that the perfect moon would pose a threat. However on the same note, she could feel little life coming from the environment as she traveled towards town.

She stopped by a tree that Luna believed should be full of life, however it's story was not one of joy. "You gonna end it all for me? No? Too bad..." Luna continued on her way to the village, which was starting to prepare for a joyous festival. The contradiction of human spirit vs nature seemed to get to Luna, however she assumed there was a magical cause for the life in the enviornment disappearing. Luna looked around, she didn't see much in the way of guildmates or other wizards, but then again not everyone has an emblem exposed, something she too was doing as her emblem was covered by hair on the back of her neck.

However she started to get slightly nervous as she walked around, recalling that it was not just legal guilds who received the call, but dark ones as well. The fact sent a chill down her neck, the last time she met a dark wizard, he put a shock lacrima in her neck that still remains. Keeping calm on the outside, she walked about the village square, waiting to find another wizard.

The air was a frosty and fluffy, chiffon clouds were swimming in a sky wet with warm colors; yellows, oranges, soft blues and the like. It was the ideal evening sky for many and perhaps the last for even more. Today was a special day for the townspeople of the Haunted Village, where a deadly ritual is cast upon the involuntary, transforming them into canine beasts with enraged eyes and a terrible taste for blood. These were violent times for the Haunted Village. But frankly, Giovanni cared little for it and his invitation to prevent such ruckus.

He rode the way to the Haunted Village in his rather prestigious car, driven by a well-dressed personal driver with the emblem of the Tesoro Family embroidered onto his chest piece. It was a rather small mafia, but they take a great part in the criminal underworld, although all who've tried to substantiate their accusations of these truths failed miserably. And so the Don of this family, Giovanni Tesoro, swaggered about Fiore with the understanding of many bullets waiting to be fired upon him, but with leisure and the casualness of a housecat.

Giovanni wore a shiny black suit with a snowlike dress shirt underneath, all partially veiled by his equally black trenchcoat that hung all the way down to his knees and loafers of the same color. If to add any color that wasn't regal or depressing, he also wore a cobalt, tucked-in tie and a somewhat lighter trilby hat. Both his car, his driver, and his aesthetic seemed fitting for the revered, or infamous, Tesoro Family.

But Giovanni didn't idle around his car and his silent driver for too long before the thought of wandering came to mind. The sky and its warm colors quickly became cooler, darker, and threatened for nightfall to come swiftly. The blue-eyed Boss looked to his associate with a tepid enthusiasm, "I think I will take it from here, Donatello," he'd say, beginning to saunter off down the stone path, "Hopefully no harm will come your way!" Giovanni began to disappear into the skylit streets with nothing but his morbid, jeering humor to bid the waiting Donatello farewell.

The white-haired, pretty-faced man began to wander into the town square, which was awfully empty compared to the size of the village, whistling outwardly and quietly when he did. He'd make a couple of twists and turns, without a definite sense of direction, and eventually found himself sitting on a bench on a quiet and empty path. He wasn't quite sure who was supposed to accompany him with this quest, and waited for them to show up themselves.

A chill went down Luna's neck, the girl froze for a brief moment as her senses detected an unusual force of life. One's desires could often be reflected in the energy they output, and Luna knew in that moment, the danger she risked was no longer a class of werebeasts, but an enemy that seemed far beyond herself. Her emerald eyes looked at a vase someone passing by her was carrying, eyeing the reflection and in that moment, she had a glimpse of a suited figure with white hair, anything more specific would require her to turn around and see the man with her own eyes.

She figured better to avoid the man if possible, a gust of wind rushed by, the majority of her guild tattoo was visible. A man approached her from behind and grabbed her by the shoulder, her heart raced as she grabbed the arm and kicked him in the gut before she turned around to realize, she just kicked a representative of the Magic Council. The bald middle aged man was wearing Rune Knight garbs and was armed with just a sword. Luna let go quickly as she was in shock while the man was keeled over. "Oh dear Shirain I'm so sorry!"

He held up his hand signaling for her to wait a minute. He caught his breath and managed to stand upright. "No, it's quite alright... Your instincts are right, especially with who you're workin' this job with. There's just two of you it seems. He's over there. I'll brief you both at once."

Luna followed the Rune Knight over to the bench, wondering who she should be more afraid of tonight. As they approached the man, the Rune Knight gave the man a dirty look before he got to the hard facts. "You two are the only ones on the job, I'll let you get acquainted later. You're task is as follows, once night falls, the Lycans will be driven mad under the current full moon known as the 'perfect moon'. You must keep them contained within this town, and alive. There is no proof other then the testimony of the elders, but you will be compensated one way or another, in life or death. Any questions?"

Luna shook her head, the job seemed simple enough, but it was going to be quite the ordeal. She twisted the lightning ring around her left middle finger. "I, I'm good. Seems simple enough." The Rune Knight started down the Mafia boss. "What of you? Anything to say?"

Two people walked hastily over to Giovanni, and he would only raise his head to see who it was. It was a tall, middle-aged Rune Knight with an especially bald head and wrinkled face for his age. It was clear that frowns and stress often found their way to him by looking at his gruff appearance and by, well, the glare he had fixed at the pretty-faced Don himself as he approached the bench. Giovanni could only return a cheeky grin, teeth and all, and waved tepidly.

He wasn't expecting for the Rune Knight and his goody-two-shoe company to pinpoint such a spontaneous location Giovanni had chosen to wait at, but these stirring questions seemed to be brushed away by the thick, gurgly words of the man and his briefings. The woman toyed with her fingers or whatever adorned them gingerly and the man would glare down at him again. Giovanni leaned over himself again, elbows rested on his knees and his hat veiling his quizzical eyes. But he would look up and smile, shrugging all the while, "Nothing at all, officer. Nothing at all." Giovanni would say to him, an offhand salute to follow. The Rune Knight would grunt and march off, his armor shimmering in the evening sky, although it was quickly reducing to a night-like darkness.

Silence rushed over the two for a few moments before the white-haired ne'er-do-well stood up to his complete six feet and an inch. He loomed over the soft-speaking woman with an acute disinterest covering his obligatory smile and sharp eyes. He sighed, "Is there anything you want to say?" he asked briskly, and while he did this, the very posture he took when standing, two hands in pockets and chin always tipped upwards, was unwelcoming. "I don't expect this to take more than an hour and some minutes. So if there is anything that would interfere with me in the future, best say so now, yes?" his smile reduced to an indifferent frown and gaze softened into something more careless as if he were staring down at some thing. Giovanni was not much of a talker, and if he was, it was only because he was required to. There was nothing to speak about most times if it wasn't dealing with his family or his plans. But this soft-speaking woman needed to, at least, tell him what sort of obstacle she might pose in the nearest of futures.

After hearing there was no questions by either party, the Rune Knight walked away. Luna was now stuck with the man for the foreseeable future. Luna couldn't explain it, but there was something disturbing mixed in with the life force of the man. There was something about his very being that reeked of a ominous vibe that could be described as demonic. She looked him in the eyes as she composed herself, mentally noting all the methods of escape, but panic set in and pointed out all the flaws and consequences.

She worked up the nerve to speak, hoping that things could be clarified. "My name is Luna, you see, how can I put this in a way that doesn't sound rude or creepy. I'm not human, well anymore. I'm a Nature Fairy." Smooth, Luna tried to think of how she could describe the sensations in the man but she felt like a lone king on a chess board against a full set. However she made the mistake of starting, so she had to follow through. Her foot took a step back. "Nature Fairies have an affinity for sensing life, we can sense the life force within living beings, each is unique to individuals like a fingerprint. You just came off, as, well, a demon for a split second. But I can see the human now." Luna did not lie, but there was something off besides the diagnosis. She couldn't tell what though.

Time was ticking down, Luna had been on a number of jobs, but for once, she was scared she wouldn't return alive. She looked around, realizing time was of the essence. Luna wanted to focus herself elsewhere. "So, how do you want to play this? I am a healing specialist, My guild sent me more so to ensure that there would be no death. However, I do have summons and a few walls, that can block from distances." Luna only showed the one card, she felt it better to play this in case he was a threat to her. Her emerald eyes looking around, wondering how bad the Lycans can actually get.

Frankly, Giovanni tapped in and out of the woman's rambling more frequently than he had intended, for much of what she had to say were of things he didn't necessarily need or want to know. Nature fairies, sensing life force, it was all irrelevant and mundane to the silver-haired serpent, and he could almost feel a yawn tickling his throat. It was, maybe, the mention of the essence of his being that truly caught in his attention. Intrigued, he turned to face the woman, "Demon, huh? Isn't that interesting. But I wonder," he grinned and stared deeply into the atmosphere, "how weak must one be to feel so startled over a mere demon?" he began to giggle with his usual "tut-tut" sort of laughter.

It simply made no sense. What exactly was a demon, and what made them far more antagonistic than, say, a Nature Fairy? It was true that Giovanni was not completely human and couldn't give one an answer if they asked what he was, but to him and surely to many others, it was irrelevant and as commonplace as being a beastman. It was simply the world they lived him, and yet he couldn’t find it any more surprising that people still were shocked to see things that were different from themselves, no matter how many times he’d witness it.

Giovanni gazed over the horizon, or what he could see of it through the tall buildings that obstructed his view, humming, ”Oh, I don’t know! As long as no villager gets hurt, all is well. What happens to you, however, is not my responsibility.” he clicked his tongue and sighed with an anticipating smile. Giovanni turned to her once more before sauntering off down the skylit path, ”Why don’t you find some lycans or something? I’m sure you’ll do great.” he’d giggle as he continued down his path.

Moonlight's judgement Empty Re: Moonlight's judgement

Post by Luceam 21st December 2018, 5:24 pm

Luna noted the man's response to her reaction, demons were a natural predator of fairies, so to Luna that fear was justified, but the man apparently didn't see things the same way. Figuring such details are best kept to herself. "Perhaps you're right. It's a foolish fear."

As Giovanni walked down a path, Luna was grateful that he implied she made herself scarce. She wanted to run so bad, but she figured better to show confidence and observe Giovanni if she could. However the Lycans were her top priority. Luna figured that she was better off at a distance with a vantage point, she started to climb a tall building in the midst of town, and got down onto one knee.  She watched the sun set as time passed, preparing herself. She watched as the moon rose, her eyes said it was just like any other, but her senses told her something was indeed out of the ordinary but she couldn't define the feeling, as if something normally filled with order was now chaotic.

Out of the flesh on her left wrist, a seed started to emerge before it slid into her fingers, preparing to summon one of her allies should the need become prudent. The thought sent a chill down her neck when she thought 'her allies'. One of the questions that she had yet to answer, were she and the man allies, or two enemies with a common goal. However, she realized she had forgotten about the man. "Crap, I forgot to give him Soul Tears! I hope he won't need them."

Hearing screaming that seemed to transfer into growling, she looked down to see that the Lycans were already turning their beastly forms. She observed them as they seemed to rip out of their clothes while uncontrollably shifting. For the most part, the werewolves seemed to be confused, sniffing around or scratching on walls. Luna kept herself silent, trying not to draw any unnecessary attention. Most of the human occupants seemed to have made themselves scarce after the werewolves were clear they weren't in control. She saw a Lycan try to claw at a door, Luna sighed, she had no choice now.

She aimed her right arm carefully as a white ball of energy formed in the palm, before an energy ball discharged and shot towards the Lycan, hitting him in the snout. The Lycan turned around and snarled, before making his way towards the building Luna was perched on, clawing at the base. Others followed suit as she had become a focal point for attention. "Crap." Luna thought she was in trouble, but one Lycan scratched another, sparking a fight between the two consisting of scratching and biting, until they knocked over a third, and the brawl became a fight between the three parties.

Luna was surprised, but she kept watch just in case the situation required her to step in again. "Well, that worked out better than I could've hoped for."

Post by Ahote 23rd December 2018, 4:51 pm

And just like that, Giovanni and the timid Luna parted ways just as briskly as they joined forces. There was only crude banter between them, if one could call it that, and Giovanni would likely not recall her name or her face after dusk.

So, Giovanni walked onward, but not without direction this time. This time, unlike any other time in his most recent of days, blood could be smelled in the chilling airs. As the evening skies reduced to foggy darkness, window shuttles snapped closed and curious eyes would peak through its sharp openings, doors would lock with its usual clicking noise, and kitchen lights flickered into the darkness far emptier and ghostlike than the one that submerged the village. A full, round moon appeared over the village to greet Giovanni's glossy eyes, and suddenly the acute, odorous scent of blood became more prevalent.

The white-haired serpent patiently looked about for a corpse or a generously injured being to appear before him, but no soul seemed to lurk outside their homes at these hours. But this would not be forever, Giovanni knew. Soon, such horrors would reveal themselves, and he would cast them back to hiding and what hells these townspeople contained such horrors in.

Giovanni continued to walk down his eerily silent path, with nothing but his quiet breaths and tapping of his shoes against the pavement to keep his company. He'd walk, he'd look, and then he'd stop in front of a rather small cottage, smushed between two much larger ones. There was something unusual about this stone cottage, something destructive and evil behind that worn, seasoned wooden door. Now, there was nothing spectacularly unordinary about this door or the cottage it was attached to. Parts of it had been chipped off from years of its opening and closing, particularly at the bottom, where no light seemed to escape. Even so, he'd still pause and would stare at this lodge with an acute glare. While nighttime winds and the creaking of window shuttles were but deafening distractions to all others, Giovanni could only hear his light heartbeats and the heavy footsteps of someone, something, creeping closer to the locked door. The thuds became louder and heavier as each moment slithered by. Thud, thud, thud! The smell of blood became vehemently apparent and something gross scratched against some wooden floorboards as if it were being dragged by each step. Skrrreeek. . .! One step, a second one, Giovanni braced himself, and then nothing. Silence once again. He breathed. Silence once more. Again! Silence!

The locked door flew off its hinges and into the roadway as a hairy and misshapen fist struck it! Giovanni did not falter and would simply watch the pitiful thing rush into the street with his usual solemnity. He sighed, "Well that wasn't very cordial of you," he'd complain, his sapphire eyes returning back to the cottage entrance, where an oversized beast of a lycan struggled to creep out of, "was it?"

The lycan's maw was wet with saliva and blood, but Giovanni couldn't determine whether it was their own or not. It growled with a disembodied rage and glared at him with a ferocity far greater than any normal human could contain. A wicked grin stretched Giovanni'slips and a jovial flare sparking his eyes, "You wanna fight?"

Moonlight's judgement Empty Re: Moonlight's judgement

Post by Luceam 29th December 2018, 12:58 am

As the confused mutts seemed to brawl about, Luna started to get comfortable in her perched post, unaware of the vast and swift presence climbing the building behind her. The multitude of factors to consider in this situation was overwhelming and Luna stuck to what she could hear and see. The growling and cries of the werewolves bellow was drowning out the sound of the wolf climbing the roof from the other side. When the Lycan reached the top of the building, Luna could hear it's loud snarl, she turned around to see the Lycan charge at her with great speed and attempted to slash at her. Luna instinctively jumped back... off the roof top.  "Sh*t! Do I turn Fairy? No, I'll lose the Lightning Dragon Eye if I'm not careful..."

Luna grabbed the rod strapped to the side of her shorts and pulled it out, pressing the red lacrima as the rope made of fire extended. The tip of the rope broke into four bits as it became a claw, Luna whipped it towards a sign post coming out of a store. The claw forced itself towards the beam as it burrowed into the wood. Luna swung down and had the claw let go. She landed on her feet, sliding. Catching her breath, she looked around. The earlier three werewolves were still locked in their fight, and the one that had knocked her down off the roof was no jumping around from roof to roof. Luna left that one be for now as it was not causing harm to itself or anything else.

Luna heard snarling all around, she realized that she might need to call in for support shortly. Luna felt like she had room to breathe, but she was incredibly wrong. She sensed a tremendous power coming her way. She tried to look around but time slowed down for a moment, Luna felt her golden heart skip a dozen beats as her senses caught up with her. The sound of glass shattering before she felt tremendous force strike her from behind, and she crashed painfully onto the ground slowly, but she felt the pain instantly snapping her out of her panicked state.

She heard intense growling from on top of her as she was face first in the dirt. Her sight shifted to the right to see the hand like claw with shining golden fur pinning her elbows down. Luna tried but she couldn't overpower the beast's strength, or slip by. "Damn it! How did he move so fast! My senses were unable to pick up on him!"

Luna considered changing into her fairy form, but she soon found the arguments against the option, she knew that in mid transformation, the Golden Lycan would break both her arms, and given the speed he is capable of, Luna would be eaten instantly. She was outclassed, and she knew it quite well.

She scoured for options, but in an instant, the choice was made as the worst possible opportunity arose. The golden wolf bit into her right elbow. Luna heard the crunch as it tore off her arm.  She felt an intense rush of pain letting out a scream that could reach the heavens. She a sudden loss of motor control, Luna couldn't move the arm, it was gone, for now. However, she noticed the Lycan immediately let go after having a taste of the sparking blood. Being of a fairy origin, Luna discovered that her blood had mediocris lacrimis like compound naturally occurring. It was half has potent as the stuff wings can produce, but certain beasts hated the taste of it. Luna knew she had little time. She reached her left arm over as a glob of a pink liquid oozed out of the skin on the palm of her hand. She dropped it between what was left of her arm and the severed arm. The glob broke off as it naturally formed smaller bits, until they all turned into a hoard of brown beetle like creatures with a green trim around edge of the body.

The insects immediately got to work as a third of them went to the end on Luna's body, and another to the severed limb, while the remaining stretched themselves between the two. The insects seemed to have melted down and merge as they connected the severed arm back to Luna's body. The strain connected them started to shorten as the arm got puled back to the main body, and once all the way, the brown and green ooze started a metamorphic transformation as parts turned into the missing bits that could not be accounted form, and the rest were restoring the flesh and nerve connections. By the end of it, there was no trace of the procedure except for the blood ring around her arm. "Those bugs are miracle workers..."

Luna knew she was in a bad position, she had to escape. She couldn't take the Golden Lycan in a one on one fight. Relying on the speed boosted by the Lightning Dragon eye, she tried to run. However she looked back to see the Golden Lycan, no longer startled, with her blood around it's snout lock eyes with her. The sharp red eyes met the terrified emerald before starting it's charge. She tried to predict the movements as she planned out every single move. Pink liquid oozed out of both of her hands, before she tossed both forward. One drop went further then the other. The one closer to Luna split off into several and melted into the ground. The further one hit the ground just as the Lycan was about to pass. Vines rose out of the ground snaring the Lycan. Luna had hoped this would slow it down but unfortunately not by much.

The Golden Lycan smashed through both. Luna narrowly jumped out of the way as the Golden Lycan's teeth barely missed the fairy. In Luna's hand, a ball of lightning started to form as she pointed the palm towards the underside of it's jaw before it turned into a lighting strike,  the sound echoing throughout the area as it connected with the target. The golden wolf got sent flying a short distance before crashing onto the ground. It might have been down for a second, but Luna knew there was not a chance in hell that it was close to out. Luna knew she had no choice now, she was soaked in her own sweat as she felt the adrenaline overcome her sense of pain.

She knew that she had to end this quickly, and there was only one summon she could call on. Her hunting spirits did not have the strength to take down the Lycan.  A droplet of a yellow liquid oozed out of her skin around her wrist before solidifying, forming a seed. Luna tossed it a short distance ahead of her, so it landed between her and the Golden Lycan. It burrowed itself into the ground before a twisted root rose from the ground before it exploded, and a green light shot out into the sky. Dark clouds started to gather around the light in the once clear sky, obscuring the moonlight for a moment. Luna began shouting the summon chant.  "I call forth from the forest beyond the horizon!" Thunder roared, an immense power gathered within the cloud as Luna kept going with the chant, Lighting striking down in the area around Luna, scaring off some of the weaker Lycans around. "He who has been sealed, the one of chaos, predator of all! Come forth, Zixcor!"

    Zixcor:

Descending from the cloud as the beam of light disappeared was the chaotic dragon before he wiped away the clouds with a flap of his wings, letting out a roar before he descended down to the ground. Luna knew this was a gamble, as Zixcor was not one to be summoned lightly, after all, he killed the last Nature Fairy he was bound with. "Zixcor! That golden Lycan, he's your target."

The dragon focused on the golden werewolf as it got up, relishing the challenge. "Orders I can agree with, bout time." The Golden Lycan soon got back up on it's feet as it charged towards Luna, albeit the dragon in the way. He tried to scratch his way through Zixcor, who roared as he felt the pain, but it was just his scales, not his flesh yet. The dragon took a deep breath, sucking up energy from the plants and Golden Lycan, absorbing the life of whatever he could before he let out a breath of green energy at the Golden Lycan. The Golden Lycan tried to storm through the attack but he was pushed back.

Immediately after the dragon lunged it's head at the Golden Lycan, before pounding his wings as he jumped up, elevating himself into the night sky. The Golden Lycan struggled, clawing at the dragon. Zixcor flew as high as the could before the Golden Lycan finally broke free, unaware of the height. The Golden Lycan fell down to earth at a fast pace, Luna ran a distance away from the path it was falling trying to stay clear of any harm. The Golden Lycan crashed into the ground, sending a strong shock wave as it made a crater inside the village, that soon got expanded as the dragon landed right after.  The dragon started to fade away into a green energy that scattered into specs crumbling in the wind. "Whew, that was fun..."

Luna slowly approached the crater as she was hoping that this time, the Lycan was down for the count. She could sense that there was a shift in the life force of the Lycan, it was in immense decline but Luna knew that it was not close to dead. She saw that the Golden Lycan was clearly wounded, Luna was not sure how much more it could take. She threw lightning at it, dragon breath, a fall from high in the sky followed by a dragon falling on top of it. "You truly live up to the name of Alpha..." Luna reached into her pocket and pulled out a small stone sphere.

She charged her energy into her hand as the stone lit up. She knew her Aura cannon alone would not finish him off, but adding in the stone of the world might add enough power to do so. As the Golden Lycan stood up, white energy started to gather along Luna's right arm coating it almost in a roaring fire before she thrust her arm with as much force as she could muster causing the striking bolt of energy to strike the Golden Lycan in his left eye. The beast fell over and hit his head off a rock.

Luna dropped to one knee as she needed to breathe. Out  of her hand pink liquid oozed out before dropping into the ground. A small pink cabbage quickly grew and Luna picked the Cabmage. She ate it as she got back onto her feet, eating it as she walked over to the golden furred creature. She saw the wound as where the eye used to be was a pool of blood, Luna had obliterated the eye, there was nothing left to regenerate of it. She wanted to heal the beast, but she couldn't risk recreating the previous fight.

Luna started to wonder about the other wizard, and grew concerned. Opening her notebook she wrote a note that said "I owe you one eye. Signed: Lunaris Mira." and tucked it into the torn pants of the Lycan before she took a deep breath, and sensed the energy of the demon slayer. She soon found herself following the trail, catching up to the well dressed man as he was dealing with his own encounters with the beast men. She felt ready to call it a night, but she still had to finish the job. Compared to the previous encounter, she was no longer scared of the signs of her natural predator for the meantime as she addressed Giovanni with more confidence then before as she spoke between breathes. "The Alpha is down, need any help?"
